I'm really disappointed with this order, especially because we spent about $40 including the tip for two meals. I asked for extra sauce, and when I brought it up, she told me that we had already asked for extra sauce. I said okay and then asked if I could get some sauce on the side for my potstickers. She said "sure," but the tone came across as a little condescending and made me feel uncomfortable for simply asking. Unfortunately, both of our meals had so much sauce that the rice and noodles were practically turned into soup. Everything was soaked and soggy, and we were unable to enjoy the meals the way we normally would. I honestly don't know if she was just having a bad day, and I don't want to be mean or overly critical, but this is the second time we've had an issue with our order while being helped by the same person. The extra sauce we asked for we didn't receive either. For around $40 including the tip, it was disappointing that both meals ended up being ruined by the excessive amount of sauce. I got a Cupbop with beef and Krunch and it totally hit the spot. The beef tasted average, but the portion was generous, which I appreciated. The Krunch, though--SO good. There were only three pieces, but they were crispy, flavorful, and definitely the highlight. I just wish there were more! I'll definitely be getting Krunch again next time. We came here on a Saturday night, for our first time. It's a smaller store but there's plenty of seating for the size and it seems like most people take it to-go. There was a line of about six people before us. The employees were super kind and answered all of our questions as we were leaning more about the menu. They said that the most popular was the Korean fried chicken. My husband and I both got that on top of the rice, cabbage, and noodles. I went with a level 5 spice. The chicken was really tasty, hot, and cooked very well. The flavor combination of everything with the sauce was so good. The leve 5 sauce was yummy and had the perfect amount of heat for me. The rice was cooked perfectly and the noddles were so good! I think that next time I will do a couple of things differently. 1) I'll do a two menu option bowl with veggies and meat or ask for a side of fresh veggies to get some greens and 2) I'll ask for all the sauce on the side. For my bowl, there seemed to be too much sauce so it did overpower the other flavors. I would rather have my sauces on the side to dip/pour myself. I will say that the restaurant was lacking on the cleanliness side, hence why I'm giving four stars. The tables were dirty with food from previous customers and where you order your food and see it all in front of you, was dirty as well. It looked like a lot of the meats and the potstickers weren't hot and had been sitting out for awhile too. That was one of the reasons we didn't order the potstickers. Ordered for the very first time at this location for a special occasion. I ordered the Cupbop with ugly chicken and doochi. The service was extremely fast and I should have known something was off. When I got my order and got to my destination to have lunch with my dad I was very very unhappy with what I had received. My order consisted of ONE, yes one piece of chicken that looked like the Koko chicken and my extra side of lime mayo was also missing. I met Mike, the marketing director, who happened to be there, helping serve food, when we walked in. Being our first time, the menu was explained to us and they also suggested recommendations to our liking and preferences. I love that they have different sauce options for HEAT on your food. They even understood what "Utah" spicy was, VS. the rest of the world spicy, which was entertaining but they "got" me on that, such a breath of fresh air! Good food and friendly employees. I had never had Cupbop so I'm glad I got to try it. The employee who helped me was friendly and walked me through the ordering process. I ordered a bowl with half steak/fried chicken, no rice and extra cabbage with the glass noodles. The steak was tender and the chicken was even crispy when I took it home to eat. There was a lot more chicken in my bowl than steak. I really liked both meats and would order them again. The noodles were soft and the cabbage was crispy. I ordered a 10 spice level. It was not spicy since there was very little sauce on the bowl. I had a hard time eating my bowl until I added extra sauce (from home - I added sriracha and teriyaki sauce since that's what I had) since everything was dry with the small amount of sauce I received. Next time, I will ask for more sauce and see if I can get some of sauces they put in the level 8 spice. My husband got the pork with a level 8 spice. His bowl had a more lot sauce on it. I liked the taste of his sauces that were in the bowl. Side note: Where my husband has had Cupbop before he said the amount of sauce on our food was hardly any compared to what he normally gets when he had it in the past. I went around 4 pm and was able to get front row parking which was nice since I had to unpack all 3 of my kids. There was a nice outdoor eating area with two tables and some cool lighting for nighttime. The inside was mostly blocked off for seating except maybe two or three dining tables for 2. It was a little difficult to hear the employee telling me the options over my kids and her mask but I was finally able to understand her and get my order in. I got the Rock Bop which is their tangy fried chicken and it was delicious! I had them too it with their #1 sweet sauce and siracha Mayo sauce. Their food is unique and delicious! I can't handle spice; so I just get their B-Bop which is their Korean Style BBQ Beef with their sweet sauce and I really enjoy it. I also ask for no cabbage; cuz there's no need for the cabbage in my opinion. My husband got the Hot Bop which is their Spicy BBQ Pork with a #6 Spice level. He said that it's spicy, but not overly spicy and has a good flavor to it. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because where we sat; hadn't been cleaned and I was sticking to the table. I ALWAYS love it when I get a chance to visit CUPBOP! today I ventured away from my standard chicken and beef and tried the new tangy fried chicken in my cupbop, and it was excellent! Also, if you can tollerate a bit of spicy kick, there is a special sauce they put on when you request an 8 or higher, and it's the bomb! I always go 8 and although the nose may run a bit, it's worth it EVERY time. Oh, and Volume? They give you soooo much food! sometimes I will take it home and dump it in a larger bowl just so I can mix evertyhing together before I dig in. it's overflowing the bowl and and the only thing keeping everything in is the lid. Very solid and respectable Korean inspired food game here. Decided to finally give this place a try after more than a year of living here. So glad I did despite the three-star reviews. 5/5 food: we tried the chicken cup as well as the tofu cup. The chicken is quality meat, low fat white chicken. The tofu is crispy and on point. I came back and got the tofu the next day. They also offer a children's cup with the same ingredients as the larger cups (just smaller), for less than $5. My little one loved it. The spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce they have, is the bomb. They are not cheap with it. 5/5 service: seen plenty of businesses fumble during coronavirus, not this restaurant. Both times I came in, the line was very fast and they had more than enough employees to quickly fill the orders. Clean restaurant. Social distancing was never a problem. No, they are still not accepting dining-in. But! They are accepting walk-in orders though. 5/5 price: not cheap, but on par with other Asian or Island style restaurants. When I got home I put everything from my cup onto a plate. The portions are very generous. It looked small because of the cup, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much food actually fits in there. Didn't know what I was in for when I first walked in the door, but I was met with really kind staff (a little understaffed bc Covid) and because it was my first time they shouted "EXTRAS" and gave me a little extra portion of everything. This rating is based on our most recent visit to CupBop, we have gone many times in the past and have only ever had positive experiences at their other locations and food truck events. Customer Service: 6/10 We went to the CupBop in American Fork to do this review, and there was a lot of miscommunication which resulted in a pretty bad customer service experience for us. They are only open for takeout right now, but we waited about an hour for our food. Many other customers waited a long time as well, and they ran out of many menu items multiple times during our visit. The Provo location always has great customer service and they are great at getting food out quickly, we would recommend the Provo or Orem location if you are wanting to try CupBop! Environment: 7/10 CupBop is only open for takeout right now, so there is no indoor seating at this time. At the American Fork location, there were a few tables outside that you could sit at. We would recommend ordering ahead online or ordering through a food delivery application. Menu: 8.5/10 They have chicken, beef and pork options as well as tofu and other vegetarian options! They have some GF bowls and it is all labeled pretty clearly on their menu. They also have different levels of spice that you can choose from and their heat scale is from 1-10! It is totally customizable so you can get whatever you prefer. Price: 9/10 You really get a sweet deal at CupBop. They pack so much food into the cups and they are all under $9! All bowls come with rice, noodles, and cabbage and then they are topped with your choice of meat or vegetarian options and then drizzled with a lot of their yummy sauce. Taste: 8/10 CupBop's noodles are awesome and they give you so much in each bowl! We ordered the Hot Bop and the Ugly Pop Bop and really liked them both! Their Rock Bop bowl is relatively new and it is definitely really popular, almost everyone in line with us ordered it. We got level 5 sauce on both bowls and it's the perfect level if you want some spice flavor but don't want to feel burning on your lips. My first venture to a brick and mortar CupBop and I was pleasantly surprised at how much better I like it than their trucks. I like their trucks, but this was a better experience. Place is clean, decorated all cutesy, and there wasn't a line around the block like their trucks. Walk to the counter, pick your bowl and heat, patiently wait for them to make it. This was the worst service I've experienced in a WHILE. Long line because the three (3!) workers up front were working on online orders instead. Waited for 20 minutes inside, braving the barrage of people who left after second guessing themselves and choosing another option. When I finally got to the front, the people preparing my food were basically whispering so I couldn't hear them if I wanted to. I get to pay. Finally. Guy answers the PHONE INSTEAD OF HELPING THE CUSTOMER IN FRONT OF HIM. I wait another 5 minutes while he deals with a customer service problem. I finally pay and get my food. I've been a Cupbop fan for years. The rice and noodles are great, the proteins are all delicious (my favorite is the Hot Bop - fried pork) and the sauce heat is just right @ 7 for me. (I have a decent tolerance for heat, and it pleasantly burned my lips and throat. Any hotter would have made it unpleasant). It's a bit greasy, which I know is to be expected, but it feels like they could cut down on the grease a bit. But, if you're looking for tasty bibimbap in a cup, you can't go wrong :) read more
