New to Utah went out on a Saturday night to try a new place, I gotta say this place is really good. The service was great. A younger waitress and younger waiter were constantly checking in and asking if I needed anything. Was impressed! The food was delicious as well. Simple not over complicated. And the servers let me know in advance that they freshly slice the meats so it may take a couple extra minutes. Overall it is a quant, clean, and nice place inside. I'd recommend this to anyone I come across. Also as a good mention, the waitress working broke everything down to me and explained everything to me. Be prepared to smell. Don't try and come here for lunch if you have to go back and work at the office. I wore three layers and the smell sank deep. That all being said, the price is good and the food was ok. I'm not upset at all by any means. However, I don't do hotpot often and I cooked some of the meats on the grill when it should have been in the pot. Would be nice if there were a few tips/pointers for how to cook it properly. As far as authenticity, some of it hit right. But a good half of it was an eyebrow raiser. Service was not too bad considering I prepared myself for horrible service after reading most of the bad reviews here. We came on a Thursday night and didn't have to wait for a table. Tips: Try and avoid ordering too much fried items or buns in the appetizer section of the iPad. It's filling and it's $20/lb of left over food that you don't eat. My favorite in the appetizer section were the unseasoned beef, chicken, quail eggs, octopus. So happy this place opened here in Saratoga Springs! Hotpot Haven has hotpot and BBQ. Both options are very good. Since its opening, I've been here many times and this time, I just had hotpot. They have many different soup bases (I got original bone broth), kinds of meats, vegetables, appetizers, and sauce options (make your own sauce bar!). My husband and I came here to try and have lunch. We walked in and I was fine waiting over 30 minutes to be seated even though there were MANY tables that just needed to be cleaned. We were acknowledged and told MULTIPLE TIMES "I'll be right with you" or "I'll seat you soon". I was beginning to get a little annoyed but understood staffing probably is an issue. So I let it pass. What made me MAD was when a group of 6 walked in and were immediately seated ahead of my husband and I who were waiting over an 30minutes. This group of six didn't have a reservation and were walk in just like us. It's now become more of a principle thing to me. That experience just COMPLETELY SET ME OFF. I understand a table of 6 will pay more than a table of 2 but its principle. This place has NO IDEA what they are doing and I'm less than impressed. If i want hotpot I'll take my chances driving farther to get it. Maybe their hostess should figure out how to help seat and run a restaurant so that you can retain customers. read more

I am one if the biggest hotpot fan and this place, Hotpot Haven, was pretty good! I loved the quail eggs and the vegetables! My husband and I did the hotpot all you can eat with the mala spicy broth! The service was great! I understand that it can be slow because it's a newly opened restaurant and they are still hiring people. The restaurant itself was clean! I was not sure what to expect from a hotpot in Saratoga Springs. The food bar is very low in Saratoga. My first impression was that they did an amazing job with the small space they had. It was very comfortable. The sauce bar was small but the flavor was really good. The appetizers are just ok and my expectations lowered. Now to my surprise the meat quality and flavor took me by surprise. The spicy broth was not crazy spicy it was perfect. Dessert was not very sweet but the brown sugar rice cakes I enjoyed. They are adding shaved ice this summer. The service was so friendly. Service was great, I've been here twice. It was $160 for a family of 4. The food however is not great, the meats were decent but everything else from the appetizers to desserts lacked flavor and quality. Some of the items in the buffet cooler looked to have freezer burn and were also questionable in quality. We were so excited to see that there's a new Korean restaurant in our area! I tried quite a few foods for the first time: quail eggs, beef wagyu, gyoza, bok choy, taro, lotus root, sesame ball, pumpkin bin, and brown sugar rice cakes. The price is higher than we normally pay, but for a nice date night, and all-you-can-eat, they probably should be charging more. It was fun to order whatever we wanted and cook it at our table in the hot pot or on the bbq grill. I often order vegetarian when we eat out at restaurants, so I cooked vegetables and tofu to my heart's content, but I surprisingly really enjoyed the quail eggs and beef wagyu. We went for my wife's birthday tonight, the staff are incredibly friendly, the service is quick and accurate, and the price was great! Some things to consider when you go, the sauces are all at a self serve station so prepare in advance if you order Apps, this is a tough spot for babies we had our 1.5 YO with us and she kept trying to reach into the grill or boiling broth, bring entertainment for the littles or find a babysitter. The garlic chicken was exceptional, the spicy anything is not as hot as you'd expect, and their Gyoza is one of my favorites I've had. We also had the hot pot my wife got the Miso and I the Tonkotsu both were exceptional. All in all I will be back and I will tell friends it was soooo good! read more

I love having a Hotpot place here in Saratoga Springs. We've gone 3 times now. Each time the food has been good but the service can be good and not so good at times. The first time we went was just right after they opened. The service was really shaky back then. You'd order stuff and then have to remind them to bring it out. It was better the 2nd time. My wife was a little upset about the kids being charged full price because of their height (they don't really eat that much at all), but that's their policy. The 3rd time things went pretty well. They just forgot to bring out the rice, and when we asked for just one bowl they gave us two. We enjoy the food though. read more

Our first visit was for a birthday dinner. Party of 10. The place is really only set up to seat 4-5 people at a table so be aware. It says to talk to hostess if you have a part of 8 or more. No hostess ever came out to the front to greet anyone the entire time we were at the restaurant. We had to flag someone down. In the entire place we were only able to find one worker that could speak English to us so getting help whenever we needed it was rough. The one guy really doing all the running around really tried. Our food came out 15 minutes before any drinks were delivered and we ordered drinks first. That was tough. With spicy stuff not having any water or drinks wasn't pleasant. When the cokes came they were flat. Ordered gyoza as an appetizer with our bbq and hot pot. It was not hot and so dry. Tasted so bad it was inedible. The meat was fair. Some was very tough and some was decent. Overall the veggies were quite fresh with a few exceptions. Most of us ordered either the spicy broth or the miso broth. Those that ordered the spicy broth enjoyed it but the miso was very bland. Given the meat and veggies come unseasoned it made for a very bland meal. They have no knives in the place so you have to ask for scissors to cut anything to share it. They have a bar where utensils (no knives) and some sauces and spices can be grabbed but no labels to any of them. There is not adequate air condition for a place with lots of people and hot plates going at each table. The misty glow on everyone's face was ever apparent. No music either. They really need to work a few things out before they are a well operating restaurant. read more

Soooooooo goood. We went at 4:30 on a Wednesday and wow wow the best hot pot in Utah for sure I've been to all the restaurants in the state and this is the best by far. The sauce ingredients selection was good just needed sugar and green onion but wow the service was fast the food quality is insanely good love that you can just grab vegetables right out of the fridge. We were SO excited to try this place. unfortunately it seemed like the entire staff started today. Everyone was clueless except for this one incredible lady who probably owns the place and was trying to do everything! I have celiacs and asked what was gluten free and the server assured me all the meat including seasoned meat was gluten free. I even double confirmed no soy sauce was used to marinate it! she assured me it wasn't! then I saw the meat on the table and knew there was soy sauce in it! Not sure where to start but the service is terrible. I was there an hour before we even got meat to put in the hotpot. When we wanted more meat it took them maybe 30 mins. The meat quality is much lower than other hotpot places I've ate it, much more fatty. When we were low on broth, all they do is add water. I noticed some of these complaints in reviews but now that I've experienced it I realized it's not just a 1 off. I will definitely never come back here. Such a bummer because I was so excited for a hot pot. I was there for 2 hours and the service was so slow that I ended up leaving hungry. read more

Waiting was bad, literally was waiting for someone to even check us in was very disorganized. Took like 20 min for someone to notice us. But brushed it off, but then when we sat down, it was an even more awful experience. Literally they just showed us to the table waitress walked away without explaining anything to us, which by the way was our first experience going to a hot pot. We were clueless as how to order, when we finally figured it out 25 min had passed and no server and when we had questions the waiter still had us wait because he was to busy to answer a question. Was sitting for 35 min at the table and no one had approached us at all. Now by this time we had waisted a whole hour at this establishment without no one helping, serving, or paid any attention. I loved it so much I decided to take my family again today and we were completely forgotten. 70+ dollars to watch everybody around us get their food. We would place an order, wait 15-20 minutes just to have to remind the waiter that we placed an order. Then another 5-8 minutes before it was delivered. 70+ dollars and 90 minutes of time to eat a small plate of veggies and an even smaller plate of meat. We genuinely were even on the verge of just leaving cause we were fed so little. Just rough. The service. The usual circumstances (they didn't have cups, we had to use disposable cups that were quite literally getting soggy as used them. Begging for plates, no straws available) they were scrambling to even give us utensils to use for soups. We went for the ayce hotpot and bbq, so pretty much everything on the menu was available. We had the fried chicken app, veg tempura and veg spring rolls. All of them were very good. The broths we selected were the tonkatsu and beef bone broth. We ordered prrtty much all the garlic meats, plus the marinated chicken, wagyu, pork, beef, and veggie assortment. After over an hour of eating and chatting, we were all stuffed. It was the most all three of us have eaten in a long time. The servers checked on us a few times and gave us a tablet to order more if we wanted. The wife, who loved the marinated chicken ordered it twice! Worst service! All the ice on the North Pole melted before we got our food. When they brought out the food it only had 1 piece of meat on the plate. They also brought out the veggies 20 minutes before the broth. We had to keep asking for ketchup because they gave us enough to dip to pieces of chicken. I also didn't understand why they didn't to dress the tables with utensils and basic seasonings. You basically had to get everything for your table except the food. Their sauce bar was also empty. Like there was no urgency to refill anything at the sauce bar. They also don't have any ventilation for the smoke. If you're sensitive to smoke, you'll most likely get light headed.
