Definitely was a No for me! I was so excited to hear that they brought Korean BBQ in the valley. My husband surprised me for my birthday and brought me here. Expectations were just pushed out the doors! In a bad way!! It was nothing I expected , it was not Korean what so ever. I was so disappointed & sad!! We love Korean Food - the more traditional, the better. The new Cupbob restaurant in Eagle has figured out how to do traditional Korean food combined with a modern Korean edge. It's delicious! I have a weakness for jjapchae (Korean Sweet Potato Noodles), which usually come as a banchan (small side dish) or ordered as a side. When I saw on the menu that the jjapchae was offered as a vegan option I was excited. But, I really wanted to try the meat dishes and didn't want to pay $8 for the vegan noodles only plus a meat dish. No worries though! All cups come with both rice AND noodles! Happy face for sure! The S.O. Got the combo with Korean Beef (aka Bulgogi) and Spicy Pork. Both the kid and I got the Ugly Bop (rice, jjapchae, cabbage (you can choose lettuce instead), and sauces). The crew asks how spicy you'd like it and adds sauces on top to suit your request. I don't like overly sauced food, so next time I'll be sure to ask for less, but the taste of everything was amazing. So good we made plans to drive the 30 min each way from our place in Boise again the next day to order again. Plus, the $8 student meal (a CupBop and drink) is available all day, every day. The price is affordable, the food is fresh and plentiful, the decor is fun and spot on to modern Korean esthetic. Great addition to the Treasure Valley! Can't wait for them to open one nearer to us in downtown Boise (one can hope). UPDATE: 2nd time trekking to CupBop. Mandoo! You must get Mandoo! $2 for a 3 piece. Cupbop food is ok. This isn't a food review. This store is vey poorly run. We've placed several online and in person orders at this store. The orders are nearly always wrong. Silly me for going back. The store is always "out of" something. Last time they were out of rice and noodles at the same time. When asked if they were going to make more They said that it was too close to closing and the owners don't allow it. it was actually 1.5 hours before closing and There were still 8 people in line with me. A word of caution, don't ever order the tofu, it is either out of stock or never ready. The tables, floors and food service area are usually quite filthy. There is usually food all over the tables and floor of the dining area; so when my kids want Cupbop I always get it to go. This whole situation is a bummer because this area has very few fast food options that are not hamburgers. This could be a wildly successful store if it was better run and more closely managed. I just am so happy that something like this even exists, and they actually do it right which is the best part. it's like $10 and you get a huge bowl of meat of your choice (their chicken is the BEST), noodles, rice, cabbage, and spicy sweet sauce all over. they even have a mayo sauce. it's just my favorite kind of food....it hits every happy spot. if you haven't tried cup bop yet you are really missing out, it's korean food and you will not leave disappointed. a food has actually left me with little words...that's a good sign! I was super excited when I found CupBop parked at one of the food truck events in Meridian. I thought, "Korean BBQ food truck, no freaking way! This is going to be so damn good." Sadly, I was lead astray... CupBop is not original Korean BBQ food. I'm not sure if you can even call it Korean. More accurate would be Korean-American because the food is American AF. I've been to South Korea a few times, so I know what authentic bap tastes like. Granted that this place is in the US, run by Americans, I understand I'm not going to get something that tastes fresh out of a Korean hawker center. But come on guys. My bop didn't even right for American food. The strips of beef were tasteless. The noodles were slimy but not the good kind of slimy. It was like there was coagulated water on each strand. Should have just hot rice. They also ask how hot you want your sauce. I don't remember what the scale was but I do recall asking for the hottest option. It was not spicy, no where near. It tasted sweet. It didn't taste bad, it was actually rather good sauce however it was not what I had asked for. The whole bowl was a waste of $8. I probably won't try this place again when I see it parked out and about. The only reason for the extra star is because I really do enjoy the concept! Greasy spoon, the tray, and table were sticky (apparently not cleaning with a degreaser). My wife reported that the bathroom was dirty too. Which brings me to the food... we stopped for dinner on a week night, about 6:45pm, and the food served was cold (we ate in). As this was our first time at Cupbop, we also didn't realize they would dump three kinds of sauces on our bowls when we gave them the number of spicyness we wanted. My wife complained that it was too sweet for her taste, but I thought mine was about right since I have a sweet tooth. Flavorful, quick, cheap, and won't make you feel like crap. This place is awesome! I've been there a couple of times now and it's been very good both times. I got the spicy pork bowl with cabbage. I think my favorite part might be the glass noodles they put on top! I wasn't sure what to expect with their spice level so I got a level 4 the first time (not spicy at all) and a level 6 the second time (perfect amount of spice for me). My husband got the level 9 and he really enjoyed it. I think he'll go for the 10 next time. We'll definitely be back often! read more

No more Panda Express for us... CupBop is our new jam! Every time we drove past we laughed at the name until we finally got to check it out. We stopped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago and I was impressed with how clean it is and how friendly the staff was. Not knowing what we were doing and never having experienced Korean BBQ we were all confused. The staff was very informative and patient while we all made our way through the line picking and choosing what went in our bowl. You start with white rice, choose from cabbage or lettuce, they add the noodles (made from sweet potatoes), you choose your meat(s) and then there are a variety of sauces. I chose fried chicken and bbq chicken the first time and went with their suggestion on sauce. The next time I went back I got all bbq chicken and extra garlic sauce. It is very filling and we each usually get 2 meals out of each bowl. Now we just need a CupBop on the south side of the interstate! read more

I LOVE the food but the service is just so so bad. There's often no one over the age of 16 working I swear. They are all super unprofessional and shout at each other across the restaurant for things. It literally looks like it's everyone first day every time I go. I had to quit ordering from door dash or Uber eats because the order is ALWAYS wrong. I go in now because like I said, I love the food, but every time I do it's a laughable/excruciating experience to watch how bad it is. I've been wanting to catch these guys to try their Korean BBQ in a bowl for a few months now. Finally they came close enough, I was able to grab it for lunch with my coworker today. So here is my first experience... I was a little surprised to see two white guys running the truck. I don't know why...I assumed I was going see at least one Korean?! At any rate...they were super friendly with super "LOUD" voice! It'a like they are smiling yet yelling at each other! But it wasn't nothing but a really fun vibe!! The food was great, and the service was super fast. I got the combo with spicy pork and bbq beef. It came with chap-chae (clear sweet potato noodles), rice, and mhan-doo (complimentary). I asked for some kimchi, which made the bowl extra spicy! They put some spicy sauce and another mayonnaise-like sauce, which I'm not familiar with. But it was still great! My coworker also got a combo with chicken and spicy pork. We both were super happy with our food and will definitely try it again! read more

Our first time eating here and will definitely be the last. The staff in this shift working on 3/23/22 at 2:00 p.m was very rude. Upon arrival the two girls behind the counter were laughing and were being very disrespectful towards me and my girlfriend. They both looked at us as if we were interrupting their conversation. We had informed them that this was our first visit. The asian girl lifted each container of meat up saying, "This is the chicken, this is the beef," while laughing with the other girl. Music was blasting, the gentleman at the register was very polite, friendly and good at describing the menu/experience. But what I saw...The noodles I could see were cooked this morning or at least looked like it . Dried dark brown noodle stuck on the side of the pan. Most of the lids covering the food inserts were covered with old food particles-GROSS! Fast casual Asian is not all cooked to order, but at least not sitting there for God knows how long like this place??? Korean food is awesome usually but not like this...:( read more

I love the combinations and my dinner date (my daughter) had a lot of fun exploring this food for the first time. The fact that you dont have to mull over food choices all day is actually quite nice. The enthusiasm that I once enjoyed as I walked in when it was first open has come down a notch, but all in all, still good food, still a unique experience. My mom and I saw this place while driving to another restaurant, and it looked so interesting we decided to drop in! It's a wonderful place! I got the spiced pork and that was delicious; thank goodness it was delicious because I swore to never eat pork again after watching that one film about the alien genetically modified pigs, with that one actress who is amazing and creepy and beautiful all at the same time. For those of you that don't know, Cupbop is a new food truck. I had been seeing it pop up around town. The other day, around lunch time, I saw they were on the corner of 5th and State Street along with a couple other food trucks, and decided it was time I give them a try. This is a description of Cupbop straight from Facebook: "Cupbop is Korean BBQ in a bowl! We offer sweet, savory and spicy food that will have fireworks bursting with flavor in your mouth! Your bowl will have fluffy white rice, a layer of crisp lettuce, delicate sweet potato noodles, and your choice of beef, pork, chicken, or our tofu kimchi medley! Shhh... Just eat! When you eat Cupbop, you will poop gold!" To be honest, the description is pretty spot on. All except maybe 'pooping gold'. This was a delicious bowl of Korean food. I believe the name is a play on the Korean dish bibimbap, but don't quote me. Bibimbap, sometimes anglicized as bi bim bap or bi bim bop, is a Korean dish that literally means "mixed rice". Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm, white rice topped with seasoned vegetables and sauces. I chose their Kko Kko Bop (the chicken bowl) with a couple mandoo (Korean potstickers). Everything was very good. Loved the noodles. I do wish there was less rice and more of everything else, but that's just me being greedy. You also get to choose the spice level of your sauce on a scale of 1-10. I went with a 5. Should have gone 6 or 7, but I like my food with a little bit of a kick to it. I don't think this is good me. Not sure what I was expecting, but definitely not close to any authentic Korean food. It's good if you need a quick fix for the flavor. The yam noodles are a better choice for me than with rice on the bottom of the cup because you're suppoded to mix everything and I hate when my rice is all mixed into my food. The workers there were nice and there seems to be a following so good for you if you live these guys, but honestly, no hate here, I'd rather have real bi bim bop or regular Korean. She was so professional, had great customer service, she calmed her coworkers who were getting a little rowdy (also understandable.
