Red Velvet
Mechelle C.

So I'm sitting at home, studying for my board exam today. I need cake, lol! I look on Grubhub to see what they deliver fast. I end up with a 4 pack of my choice of cupcakes!! Man ohhhh man!!! I'm so glad I found this place! I am not supposed to have sugar so, honestly I only tried a few bites of the wedding cake and cookies & cream. The wedding cupcake is so moist and delicious! The almond butter cream frosting was spot on for awesomeness! The c&c cupcake was chock full of cookies with Oreo-? On top. This one was a substitute for one they were sold out of, so I'm guessing the flavor here;) Great sub regardless. Def give this place a try! Guess I have to save the last 2 for the "Birthday Boy", huh?

I have had a lot of cupcakes over the past decade and for a while was on a quest to find the best red velvet cupcake but in all my travels, I have never...never seen a place that had this many cupcake flavors. I mean, it was unreal! Anything you could think of, they had. And, even things that you could not think of, they had. From the traditional red velvet, chocolate on chocolate, chocolate on yellow, strawberry, and coconut to the very interesting such as key lime strawberry, red velvet with German chocolate topping, red velvet strawberry, orange pineapple, blue velvet and key lime, and white chocolate macadamia, Cupcake 50 Etc has you covered. In fact, the owner told me that they have over 100 flavors! I forwent just usual red velvet for something a little different here and I got a blue velvet and a chocolate mint. These cupcakes were really, really great. They were so soft and moist and the cake to icing ratio was perfect. They weren't covered in icing, which I appreciated. While the cupcakes were excellent, they were quite expensive. I guess I'm used to $3.50 or $4 at the most for a cupcake so I was very surprised when one cupcake was $5.35 with tax. A dozen cupcakes from here would be a lot. But, the cupcakes are certainly top quality.

Overwhelming...the second you step inside. The counter boast rows and rows of sweet goodnessessess of cupcakes. The counter also proudly displays the Bakery awards she's won in the past. Cupcake Fifty boasts over fifty different flavors of cupcakes, with some being Vegan. I definitely enjoyed all the cupcakes I bought. Nice and moist. My only takeaway is, the cupcakes seems to be on the pricey side. But as what the old saying goes, "you get what you paid for". They were delicious. Come by and show them some love. #SupportLocal

Can we talk about freshness and tasty??? So once again Yelp came through with an event so we stepped out to see what all the excitement was about. We walked in and love the way the owner is using her space. Erica went to visit before me, and said she smelled home cooking that went beyond cupcakes. The owner/baker uses her space for events as well as caters. The vast spread of cupcakes and baked goods was so overwhelming I couldn't get just one. My personal recommendations are the super moist blue cheesecake, lemon and the strawberry. If only Cupcake Fifty was closer to St. Johns I would be there at least once a week. We will definitely go back very soon.

I went into Cupcake Fifty and was immediately in awe of all the cupcakes displayed! And then to see that it was event center as well was even better! I was told which cupcakes i could choose from for the Elite event and ended up buying 2 more because I couldn't walk out with just one! I had the triple chocolate which was so amazing, it was rich, the icing was perfect sweetness and texture and it wasn't too overwhelming. The blue velvet with key lime which was full of so much flavor, sweet with a sour kick from the key lime! And the regular blue velvet which was moist and the perfect amount of sweetness! I will definitely be returning PS- i love my Elite ornament and the FreshJax seasoning will be put to great use!

Deeeelicious cupcakes! This review is long overdue as I've visited several times before. When you walk in, there's always a warm smile and a friendly greeting waiting for you! The store is large and even has seating for events. Cupcake flavors I have purchased include: - strawberry cheesecake - white chocolate raspberry - red velvet cheesecake - blue velvet cheesecake - wedding cake - vanilla - red velvet oreo (new favorite! Omgg there's little oreo pieces inside the cake! Sooo good) I've also purchased banana pudding and carrot cake for my boss before and he told me they were really good! The cupcakes are the perfect texture, not too airy a bit more dense like I like it. Those icing flavors are spot on. Especially the oreo icing on red velvet. The icing is never too sweet... just perfect!

peach cobbler and banana pudding

Cupcake fifty is in its essence, one big candy land. There's rows of cupcakes in all colors and flavors, stands of cakes high up on display, and cobblers, cheesecakes, and puddings in the fridge. Everything is beautifully decorated, piled high with crumbles, cookies, and corresponding garnishes, and all the sweets are homemade with love. i was craving a peach cobbler so i grabbed one of those along with a banana pudding. While she was bagging it up, i made some friendly conversation with that owner and she was delightful. My desserts were very heavily portioned and beautifully presented. When I lifted up the lid on the peach cobbler, I got hit with a whiff of cinnamon and peach that was irresistible. I dug my fork in and my tongue was met with the most glorious bite of the best peach cobbler I've ever had. I don't even have words besides "wow!" for this one. The Banana pudding gave me the same reaction, it was creamy, crunchy, and tasted like it was made just for me! Cupcake fifty is the sweetest spot in all of Jacksonville. You definitely have to give it a try!

OMG-warm bread pudding. Sinfully delightful.

Walk in the door to a wonderful greeting from two ladies. They handed me a taste of bread pudding and a mini key lime cupcake to start! What a great welcome to Ernie and I. We introduced ourselves and vice versa. Then the Owner told a little history about where she started and that she supplies some restaurants and local grocery stores with some of her fixins. Her new and permanent location is near MERRILL and 295. In the same shopping center with Big Lots and Salvation Army. The place is very big and spacious. She mentioned to me that her place can be used for any special occasion. So, I am thinking it be great for a birthday party. I am so happy to see new growth in Arlington. This makes me smile. If you happen to be out this way, please stop in and try a sample of something and welcome them to Arlington.

Best cupcakes in JAX - Jacksonville. Must-try! Cupcake Queen could be a fitting name for the owner and pastry chef of Cupcake Fifty. My partner and I stopped here on our way out of town for a long weekend. We had been seeing the signs it was reopened but kept missing their open hours (closed Sundays and Mondays). In shelter of heavy rain, we stopped last Thursday. Now we know why it's called cupcake fifty!!! They have 50 plus flavors of gourmet cupcakes, catering, a beautiful eatery, and the owner was there to educate us. This is a black-owned, woman-owned business just opened within a year or so. She needs our love and support to keep her divine cupcakes available for our JAX community. The cupcakes are soooooo moist and delicious! We LOVE the blue velvet - think red velvet but blue with delicious cream cheese frosting and perfect golden crunchy sprinkles. Try the German chocolate red velvet for a flip on the traditional red velvet or German Chocolate Cake. Yum! I loved the maple bacon but my partner likes the bacon more crisp than chewy. I'm a fan! We both liked the white chocolate macadamia nut with the crunch of real macadamia nuts on top. Sooooo many more to try. But cupcake fifty has something for everything!

I am wowed!! These cupcakes are so delicious and well priced , I'm not sure any review is going to prepare you! Great customer service, they are prepared for you to be overwhelmed by the options! A cupcake for anyone's taste buds. There is seating inside to enjoy your cupcake as well.

I found this place around March but with Covid it was difficult to get in to actually try it out. We did today and OH.... My..... Goodness... This place is the Bomb!!! The bread pudding is absolutely To Die for.... A praline pecan topping and the best tasting, best texture bread pudding base! I've been looking for this for the last 4 years in JAX!! Their cupcakes (maple bacon, banana pudding, blue velvet, hummingbird) all Absolutely amazing. Totally worth a visit and Cupcake Fifty... I'll be calling on you for more of this amazing bread pudding!!!

Stacy J.

Wow!! Such a great little gem of a place!! So many delicious varieties of cupcakes to choose from it's hard to even pick! I was so grateful for the yummy gluten free options as well! I inquired about the beautiful space they had there and it can be rented out for parties! How fun!

Cupcake 50 always comes through. I needed a cake for my moms bday and somehow I forgot to order one. I reached out to Charlotte just a few days before needing it and all my worries about a cake were taken away. The cake , oh the cake was beautiful, moist and as always very delicious! Everyone loved it but most of all my mom loved it. Thanks for always providing great service and some of the best desserts in town!!! #bluevelvet #yummy

It was a little bit of a drive away, near the beach, and there was absolutely no parking on a Friday night. My husband dropped me off and circled while I placed a few to go orders. It was a cute little shop with donuts, shakes, and ice cream. The donuts are not traditional donuts; more like deep fried donut holes that are covered with all kinds of yummy toppings. They're also served nice and hot and in 10 packs. They had lots of cool donut flavors like: Dark Delight, Maple Bacon, , White Tella, and Love U Matcha, The prices range from $8.75 to $9.50 per box. They all sounded yummy; but we decided on Twix Fix, drizzled with caramel, melted chocolate, and cookies, and Lotus Crunch, which was topped with melted Biscoff cookies. Our order was ready in about 5 minutes and the bag of donuts was nice and warm. We ate them when we got back home. They were more chewy and heavier than regular donut holes, but rich and delicious. You could really only eat a few; so a box of 10 is a decent sized dessert for 2 people to share. Lukumades is definitely a very unique donut experience and worth supporting because they're not a huge chain. You'll be glad you tried them....and its worth the drive.

We ordered the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer, they were phenomenal! Then we both decided on steak for dinner. I got the filet, and ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter! My wife didn't like that there was so little pineapple in it. Our Napoleon pastry was pretty good, and I might get it again ($5 for a small one). We both preferred it to the brownie ($4). I don't particularly like brownies, but this one looked particularly appetizing, and the order-taker said it was one of her favorites, so we tried it. That was a mistake. Perhaps I should have tried the mini cream puffs, which are a favorite of mine (3 for $5), instead. Among other things I usually like, they had carrot cake for $7 and a cup of cheesecake for $9 (which seems steep). Their fruit shaped pastries looked beautiful (and a couple next to us said they loved the mango one), but were $12 each. Their fruit-topped Danishes also looked delicious, but weren't available any more at lunch time. They also offer milk shakes and loaded (sweet) croissants. There are only four stools here next to a bar, if you want to eat in. The bathroom was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come here again, but if I were in the area I might try some of their other pastries or sweet treats.

I'd get this again, though probably trying the regular hot dog bun instead of the scallion one next time. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here. Each item was $3-3.25, so a better value than the other bakeries I go to. I will return to this place periodically, but I still prefer places like Cruffin & Tea and Le Petit Paris, so I'm giving Mai Xiang Garden Bakery an average rating, 3 stars: pretty good, but not above average for a bakery, other than the good value.
