Classic Butter Cupcake with Chocolate Frosting
    Chris A.

This summer has started off with a bang! Softball of coarse is the reason but even when the score doesn't go our way, food exploration is on the docket. We decided to visit Chattanooga and grab a sweet treat...well 5 of them! Eclair, cannoli, raw cookie dough, snores cupcake and classic butter cake with chocolate frosting! All of them were very good! Food was a 9 but the service and friendly atmosphere was a 10+! If you are here in town, it's definitely worth a stop. Downside, Chattanooga has the most expensive parking, if you are here on a weekend, park on the street, it's free! However, this place is worth every penny to park!

Service was friendly and efficient. We've been here a few times- everytime we find ourselves passing through Chattanooga. It's a fun, delicious, well priced little shop. Very clean and welcoming.

Cupcake Kitchen is a delight from the moment you walk in--the display cases are packed with cupcakes in every flavor imaginable, along with cookies, cannolis, and other treats. At $5.50 each, the cupcakes feel well worth it; they're dense, generously topped, and clearly made with care. The staff was warm and walked me through how the cases are organized by icing type--buttercream, fudge, whipped topping, and cream cheese--which made choosing so much easier. I went with the German chocolate cupcake, which was rich, fudgey, and full of coconut flavor. Looking forward to coming back and working my way through more of their lineup.

The selection of flavors is so hard to choose just a few from! I want them all every time! They're all absolutely delicious, especially the Pineapple Upside Down. The ladies behind the counter were happy and nice. And the little store is small but cute and clean. I visit here every time I'm in Chattanooga, my hometown. :)

Lots of options to serve everyone here! Their regular bakery items look amazing. In addition, there are gluten free cupcakes (vanilla and chocolate) and gluten free/vegan cupcakes. The gluten free chocolate cupcake is dairy free (contains egg). The gluten free vanilla cupcake contains dairy. Icings are also marked for which ones are gluten free and which are vegan. If you have food allergies, I recommend placing an order. We got lucky when we went that there were cupcakes leftover from a special order. We ordered the gluten free chocolate with strawberry icing and gluten free chocolate with caramel fudge icing (all dairy free also). We ordered the gluten free/vegan vanilla with cinnamon icing. The icings are SO good. We definitely preferred the chocolate cupcake (containing egg it had a better texture). The vegan cupcakes are denser as expected being egg free. Would definitely return!

Stopped in for cupcakes after dinner at Lupi's ... we got a few few things. They were good but not great. I thought the cupcake was a little dry. We still scarfed them down though. Luckily it was a nice night and we were able to sit on the porch to eat. They have a nice little sitting area there on the porch. The staff inside was pleasant but nothing special. If you need a cupcake, this is the place to go.

    Almond Raspberry cupcake ($5). DELICIOUS!

Hands down the BEST cupcakes in Chattanooga, if not in all of East Tennessee. Their cupcakes are appealing to the eyes and delicious to the taste buds. Quality and presentation are just as great, too. They offer creative flavors as well as classic flavors that are done extremely well. Cupcakes are the star of the show here, but there's also edible cookie dough, ice cream cupcakes, and confections like chocolate dipped pretzels, strawberries, oreos, truffles and more! Service was a bit pulseless the day we visited. The two workers seemed a bit preoccupied and almost slightly bothered that they had to stop packaging to help us and the handful of people who came in behind us to order. We did get a "thank you" after paying, though. Designated free parking for Cupcake Kitchen customers can be found just behind the storefront. There's only a total of 5 parking spaces currently, and you must pull in and back out directly onto the road, so parking can be a bit tight. There's an outdoor bar height table to eat at, but no seating inside. Our favorite and most recommended cupcake is definitely the Almond Raspberry ($5). Other flavors we've enjoyed and highly recommend are: Lemon Drop, Chocolate Raspberry, Key Lime Pie, and German Chocolate. Gluten-free and dairy free cupcakes are offered as well! Definitely pop on in and grab yourself a cupcake or two whenever you're in the area. Your sweet tooth will thank you!

HEAVEN!! If only this place didn't have calories! The selection is endless and it was overwhelming but so fun! I tried the strawberry which was light, flavorful, filled with strawberry filling. The presentation is mouthwatering! The staff is polite, friendly and welcoming. The space isn't huge and it is packed full of delicious options full of color and flavors!

Strolled past this little spot and decided to pop in for a GI spike. The teens split a lemon and Boston cream, while enjoyed a chocolate raspberry. Yum. The girls both agreed that both cakes were deliciously moist but lemon ruled supreme.

    S'mores cupcake

My sweet tooth was in need of something yummy yesterday and so stopped into Cupcake Kitchen. The shop has a variety of delicious looking cupcakes and brownies. I settled on the s'mores cupcake after speaking to the woman workers in the shop about options. The cupcake was $4.09 plus tax. I also grabbed one single cookie - I call it an Mexican wedding cookie but they had another name. It was $0.89. Honestly, the size of the cookie was tiny and not worth the price. So the cupcake... was beautifully designed but the flavors were lacking. I expected more chocolate goodness in the cake which was honestly disappointing. The bottom had a graham cracker crust like but it lacked crunch or flavor. The clerk said the icing marshmallow flavor but I couldn't taste it beyond the single marshmallow on top. If you want a pretty cupcake this is your spot but if you want a delicious tasting cupcake then find a different spot! Plus $4.09 for 1 is in my humble opinion too pricey for size and taste.

They have the best macaroons ever. Our favorites are the pistachio and red velvet. There is something for every one, from cupcakes, brownies, cookies, you name it. The chocolate chip cookie dough sandwiches are heavenly! This time we also got the sinful brownie, can't wait to eat it . The staff is also very kind and patient.

So many choices of so many different desserts! Definitely a place to come for a special occasion. Ice cream filled cupcakes with frosting on top! (5) Cupcakes piled high with different toppings! (4.5) Cannoli (small and large) (3.5) cookies, extra cup of frosting, gifts, and so much more! And drinks (coffee etc) Located on a corner with free parking in back. Great photo op! A couple of tables outside. Set up so cute it makes you want to come back!! And the young girl helping us was so nice, efficient, and patient with us. Highly recommend!

I routinely drive 2.5 hours to enjoy these cupcakes. The coconut cream cupcakes are my favorite so far. Service is quick and kind.

Since everything in the Bluff View Art District's hours are limited, make sure you call first to see what their hours are for the day. They have a fabulous assortment of fresh-baked and delicious breads and sweet treats. My favorite is the challah bread. It's so soft, fluffy and very pleasant tasting. Rembrandt's Coffee House around the corner from them also sells their breads and baked goods, so you have a second option if Bluff View Bakery is closed. You have parallel street parking and there is also a private lot beside the store. Delicious adventures await!

Was told have to goto a separate building to find ice. When I arrived at the next building the ice machine was empty. So this is just the beginning! So woke up the next morning and no food or breakfast is located in the three or more buildings. You have to walk about a city block away. When you arrive for breakfast your food is delivered in a cardboard box - which was actually gross ! You will NOT wake up to fresh coffee, orange juice or anything in the common area. You will find all areas are locked except for a very cold room with an actual church Pugh bench in the common area. Next I return to the room and the maids were outside. I asked for extra bathroom towels and was told "can only give you more towels in exchange for your dirty towels. I also asked for another blanket to sleep with and the maid states " now I have to goto the other building for that". Later that day I turned on the shower, the shower knob was stuck on all hot, and could not even take a three minute shower. The actual room had a small television in the wall, behind the television was a curtain. I moved the curtain back to find a huge hole on the wall (where and old tv was filled with dust). Tony's pasta restaurant (onsite) was a sodium filled nightmare. Tried the pasta- over cooked , the meatballs were unetiable. Not sure where the chef was from but I am certain nobody could ever say anything positive about the menu. Purely disappointed and disgusting. The owner was so mean and rude! View more

It was getting late and I was also tired of walking around the city, so I wanted to find a place that I could drive to easily that would have accessible, free parking, and that was still open -- many bakecafes had already closed. A quick Yelp search revealed this place as a great option! I scooted on over and walked inside. Very friendly staff members, super welcoming. The place was clean and smelled AMAZING! No real seating inside but that's okay. They have a cooling drawer and a room temp drawer depending on the need of the pie. I'd say mostly dessert pies are available but they also have a nice selection of quiches and pot pies. Flavors/varieties rotate depending on the day. They'd sold out of a few varieties when I arrived, but I was still able to get plenty of yumminess. They have a deal for four pies at a reduced cost so that's what I got! All pies are individual though you can preorder larger pies if you need one. Since I had the ~2 hour drive back home, I of course had to opt for non-refrigerated options. I wound up with a lemon blueberry chess pie, a chocolate bourbon pecan pie, a regular pecan pie, and a chocolate chess pie. Seriously, they were all delicious! Somewhat surprisingly, I'd say my favorite was the regular pecan pie. Don't get me wrong, pecan pie is a beloved pie of mine...just thought it would go to something with chocolate. But the amount of sweetness, the ratio of gooey inside to nutty outside...just so good! Each pie had a delightfully buttery, flaky crust. You really can tell the difference -- they're the real deal. Hubs and I split a mini pie each night for four nights and the quality really didn't suffer! I'd say they're the perfect size to split, though I'm sure I also could've devoured a whole one if left unattended, lol. Would love to try more flavors in the future. If you're in the area, give them a visit!

We were greeted almost immediately by someone coming out of the rear kitchen area. The staff was helpful in describing the items. Our first visit was near their closing time, so there were not many items left. We did find a few we wanted to try. Our next visit was earlier in the day and the selection was significantly greater. I cannot identify everything we saw or even purchased, but I can tell you everything was quite good. The filled items had fillings like cheese, fruit, one was even ham and cheese. The others were more like sweet breads and muffins. It was very hard to limit ourselves when making our selections as everything looked so good. Tasting each item proved our eyes were good judges of flavor. Mary's Bakery is an unassuming bakery in an unassuming location that provides some excellent products. It is certainly worth your time to visit.
