ALL options in the case are super enticing and the flavors unique. Great presentation and toppings made us want to order one of everything! We ended up trying a few cupcake flavors and cake bites. Cupcakes we tried were lemon, Italian cream, pecan turtle, and strawberry cheesecake. Cupcakes were tasty but we weren't really blown away by any. Our two favorites were Italian cream and strawb cheesecake though! I also loved the cookie dough cake pop/bite. Not cheap, cupcakes are around $4 each and cake pops $1.50 or something close. I was so happy when I came upon this cupcake place since I'm so huge cupcake fan! I gave them 5 stars due to the following: 1. Location: we're not from here, but it wasn't hard to find. 2. Service: the ladies working behind the counter were both nice and patient when I asked about all the flavors. They were also super friendly on the phone when we called to ask which flavors were available for the day. They stated that they had 36 flavors in the counter, but is more than happy to name them all if we would like. Of course, we didn't think that was necessary, but it was so nice of her to offer. 3. Price: the cupcakes were $3.75 each, but if you buy 12, they give you the 13th free. For those that know me, I have a HUGE sweet-tooth. So of course we got 13 of them! 4. Setting: the space is small, so only maybe 3-4 of us can fit in the store comfortably. They have 2 huge showcases filled with sweets. 5. Food: the cupcakes were delicious! Not overly sweet. It was a bit dry right out of the counter, but once I let it thaw a bit, it was very perfect! Overall, I would recommend and would definitely come back if I was in town again. read more

I was so excited to see Napoleons here when my friend and I stopped by during a visit to Food Truck Alley!! I'm half French-Canadian, grew up with these delicious treats, haven't had them in years, but instantly remembered the flavor. I decided to get one along with a tiramisu cupcake and "small" cannoli. I can't say how utterly disappointed I was in the Napoleon. While the flavor was good, the thing that makes a Napoleon a fabulous French pastry was destroyed. Napoleons are made with puff pastry and meant to be flaky and delicate. This was refrigerated, cold, and chewy. Heartbreaking. The tiramisu cupcake was good, if a bit sweet, and the "small" cannoli was more like tiny, though good. Overall not a horrible experience, and if they didn't refrigerate delicate French pastry I'd definitely buy it again. Guess I'll just try something else next time, and get the bigger cannoli! read more

We had been hiking most of the day, had a late lunch but wanted something sweet as a treat. Checked Yelp and this place popped up with good reviews. When my husband spotted Smores cupcakes he called to make sure they were open and off we went. It was not looking easy to find a parking space so I jumped out and started to go in (without a mask). Saw the mask sign and returned to the vehicle to grab one. I realize now that Chattanooga is a mask zone but I did not care for their sign outside of the business which really was more like a virtue lesson. I have no problem with the shop requiring masks but they could have a sign that says it a bit nicer... like "Masks are required in our store. Thanks for your understanding." Despite the sign, I still have to give this business 4 stars for the quality of their products. I forgot to snap a picture of the Smores cupcake before my husband devoured it but suffice it to say he absolutely loved it. I sampled the mint brownie and it was amazing. The next day we tried the turtle cupcake... another winner and finished off some more of the mint brownie. The part we loved most about these desserts is they were not covered in inches of frosting... which we do not like. We prefer to have a reasonable amount of added sugar and not go for the sugar coma induced frosted cupcakes. They have plenty of options in their small shop; probably at least 20 different kinds of cupcakes. I cannot imagine anyone not finding something that they would like. The server was very friendly. I was the only one in the shop at the time and she gave me the time I needed to make my selections. We will return if in the area again in the future. read more

So, I spent this past weekend in Chat, TN! What an awesome trip. We decided to go for a walk after eating lunch, to get some steps in and WOW! We happened to get closer to an AMAZING SMELL! It was Cupcake Kitchen, this bakery is located about a mile for the Tennessee Aquarium. When we entered, I almost passed from the GREAT smell of sweetness. There were so many desserts to choose from which varied in price. I opted for the key lime cupcake and a cup of water. The cupcakes were ranged from $3.25-$3.75. My partner and I eloped in Chattanooga on 3.14 and my now mother-in-law arranged for a small Cupcake Kitchen wedding cake to be delivered to our hotel room. This shop is tiny so it's hard to social distance inside, but quite a big line formed outside so it's good to know they're only letting a few parties in at a time and looking out for their customers and employees. I think only one other group was inside with us. We ordered two ice cream cupcakes, which we thought were good. However the cookie dough in mine kinda seemed frost bitten like it had been frozen for too long. I guess that's the downside of a cupcake that has ice cream in it? Though I'm sure they store some longer than others and try to give the oldest out first. I also got a strawberry cheesecake cupcake which was phenomenal. My husband was jealous he didn't get that one, because it was so tasty. Rich cheesecake frosting and a good cake that tasted like strawberry but not super fake. Lovely and moist. My husband got the strawberry pound cake and wasn't nearly as impressed, he said it was dry. I LOVE the Cupcake Kitchen! They have an great variety of not just cupcakes and ice cream cupcakes but cookies, cheesecakes, and other sweets all made in house! Flavors range from traditional chocolate and vanilla to fun fruits and fancy flavors. The flavors are supplemented by season so expect some surprises every time you visit. They also do complete cakes for any occasion and theme. I love that each time I go in, Cupcake Kitchen is decorated for the seasons and even have sweets decorated to match! CK is located in the middle of downtown Chattanooga so it's pretty easy to get to. They have their own parking spaces located directly behind the shop but you can also request a stop if you're riding the free shuttle that goes around downtown. The staff are nice and helpful! The staff was more than willing to help guide me through the difficult decision of pineapple upside down cake or the strawberry fields. I do love a filling and so I went with the strawberry fields. Stood in line, in a very small and tight area, after asking if they had gluten and dairy free cupcakes. Even verified again while in the line and was told yes. Employee was courteous but there was a miscommunication after making a special trip and standing in line with double verification. Got to the register and was told you "sorry, you can only have vegan or gluten free but not both." Disappointed and don't see how it could be difficult to offer if you already have those options. There's a lot of people who have those allergies and would be great to share a visit with family who does and does not have them. But we can only hope for now. read more

After lunch in DT Chattanooga, we stopped to get Cupcakes for dessert at Cupcake Kitchen. If you bring your furry friend along, they even have doggie treats in little cellophane packages. I'm not sure if dogs are allowed inside, though. One case is filled with very cute 'Cake' Cupcakes, while the cold case is solely dedicated to beautifully decorated 'Whipped-Cream and Flavor-Filled' Cupcakes, and an assortment of Truffle-Type Candies. Also in the cold case are intricately designed handmade sugar flowers to decorate cakes with. There were no other customers in the store on our visit. We were greeted upon walking in, but the friendliness kind of stopped quickly. The reason I took off one star. The two ladies working seemed as though they would rather not be there. It would be nice to see them at least smile kindly. The lady who waited on us was answering my questions in a rude manner. Our enthusiasm about buying cupcakes kind of got deflated. I felt pressured to make a quick decision so she could complete a sale. With so much to choose from, they do need to take into consideration that when someone is visiting for the first time, there is a lot to see and take in. I also didn't care for the fact that I saw two flies inside one of the closed cases and they kept landing on some of the Cupcakes. It seemed as though it was no big deal for flies to be in their cases because there was no effort made to remove them. I assume they saw the flies because the flies were near the Cupcakes I asked about. I actually debated leaving at this point, but we really wanted cupcakes.. Another star taken off. The Cupcakes tasted just okay. Out of 6 Cupcakes, we only liked 2, the Strawberry Shortcake and Peanut Butter Madness. (There were no flies in that case.) LOL. Most of the cupcake's frosting wept in transit to the hotel (20 minutes), I assume because the frosting didn't possess enough stabilizer. The Wedding Cake Cupcake had too much almond extract in both cake and frosting. This cupcake, although pretty, wept the most. Out of 6 cupcakes, we threw 3 away after just one bite. Nice assortment to choose from. I purchased two Turtle Pecan cupcakes and two carrot cake cupcakes for the BF and me. The Turtle pecan cupcakes are big! lots of caramel and pecans and chocolate frosting on top. Inside the cupcake is filled with some caramel. The cupcake itself is chocolate. Super rich. Definitely have it with some milk. I wish the cupcake itself were just a little bit more moist. It wasn't bad, and I've had much drier cupcakes. A little more denseness moist-ness and it would be perfect. The carrot cake cupcakes were yummy too. Again, just need to be a little bit more moist. The cream cheese frosting was very good. I'm glad we have this place in town. Lots of other options for dessert are available as well. read more

Absolutely perfect! My husband and I were visiting Chattanooga for the weekend and were looking for a sweet treat to enjoy this afternoon. We happened upon Cupcake Kitchen and planned on getting one cupcake each. But once we got inside we couldn't choose just one. We ended up getting six for the road but definitely would have ordered a dozen but we decided to have *a little* self control. We took one bite out of each cupcake and they were all delicious! Not too rich, perfectly baked cake, just absolutely perfect. And the prices can't be beat. We definitely got our money's worth and then some. We come to Chattanooga every autumn and we're already looking forward to our next trip to Cupcake Kitchen. We'll be craving these cupcakes again once we finish eating all of them! read more

i really do not understand why this place gets the ratings it does. it is just junk. the cheapest frosting you can put on a cupcake and not the moistest cake in the world. Gigi's cupcakes was my standard to compare to because their ingredients were perfect and wholesome. A small charming venue with something sweet to help you through the day My fiancée and I were spending the day in Chatt visiting the aquarium and walking downtown when across the street we saw the cupcake kitchen. My fiancée has a major sweet tooth so of course we had to check it out. Once inside we saw their display case full of treats and a white board where the daily ice cream cupcake flavors were listed. We chose to split a mint chocolate Ice cream cupcake. The cupcake was dense and flavorful and did not take away from minty-ness of the ice cream inside. The icing was mint infused as well and very good. It was large enough for two people to share as a snack. We actually had trouble finishing it all (it was 3:00, so we were in between meals). We spotted this shop and I had bookmarked it on my Chattanooga visit collection~ so we made time to drop in! We walked in and were hit with the smell of mint and cake~ oh my goodness!!! The selection! It just kept going! L shaped cases leave you enticed by this enormous selection of cupcakes and then you realize- but wait! There's more!!! Go around and find more cupcakes and more treats! I picked the pineapple upside down cupcake and John had to go for the mint one. I also added 3 different chocolate covered strawberries. We went out to the car (no seating inside right now) and sat on our bumper and enjoyed our delectable cupcakes. I saved my strawberries for later- threw them in the cooler. I confess- 2 out of three of my strawberries were not fresh- they probably shouldn't have been sold- the dark chocolate one was fresh and delicious. I love chocolate covered strawberries- but I run into the problem of freshness too often. The leaves on the two bad ones were brittle and dried and the little bit of berry not covered didn't look good. This would have been a 5 star experience if not for that. read more
