Cupitol is a super cute cafe tucked away next to the French Market. I've been living in this area for the past two years and just now realized it was there. It's a hidden gem, in my opinion! The cafe itself is pretty small with lots of tables packed in, so it gets pretty cozy and hard to navigate, especially if you visit during prime brunch hours. During off hours, it calms down and is a great place to get a little work done. The bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is served on a croissant and is what dreams are made of. It's one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a while. The hot chocolate, espresso drinks, and matcha also get a 10/10 from me. Service is friendly and they work hard to get your orders out quickly. A condiment bar is provided and is well stocked with anything you might need for your food or drinks. I'll definitely be back to Cupitol again! read more

This is a go to for morning coffee and breakfasty eats when we are visiting the daughter in Chicago. The breakfast menu has a bunch of nice options to choose from. We are usually in a grab and go mode and so the Avocado Wrap, the Gravlax Bagel and the Breakfast Sandwich are great go to choices for us. The avocado wrap includes scrambled eggs, guacamole, queso fresco, and pico de gallo on a wheat tortilla. Yum! The gravlax bagel has cured salmon, herb cream cheese, and cucumber on your choice of a wholewheat, sesame or everything bagel. Wonderful! The breakfast sandwich is constructed with a fried egg, bacon, American cheese, on a butter croissant. So tasty! Don't forget to order coffee! We usually go for the regular latte, the vanilla latte, and the dirty Chai which are all impressive in their flavor. No wrong choices here. We love Cupitol and wish we visited Chicago more often so that we could try more of the temptations on the menu. read more

This spot may look small from the outside, but inside has a variety of seating options. I came here around 2pm on a Wednesday and there were quite a few people here enjoying coffee, late lunch, working/studying on laptops. I grabbed a Nutella Latte with Almond milk and it was pretty good. I do wish the Nutella flavor was a bit stronger but I still enjoyed my drink. I spent some time here reading a book and the overall ambiance is lively and there is music playing, but it wasn't an issue since I wore headphones. We were trying to find a local coffee shop so we stopped by Cupitol. It's very busy on a Sunday afternoon but the line went by fast. I am sensitive to caffeine, but love coffee so I usually get a decaf pour over coffee at Dunkin. I asked for a decaf iced coffee and the person at the register looked at me like I was speaking another language. She then proceeded to tell me all I could get was a decaf iced latte but then changed it to a decaf iced americano. My boyfriend got a regular iced americano and an avocado wrap. When they called our name, my boyfriend realized the second coffee looked different. They told me mine was fine and I could take it. I started to drink it when it dawned upon me that they probably gave me regular instead of decaf so I asked to make sure. They confirmed it was incorrect all together and didn't even apologize. The cashier told the other worker "it's okay don't worry about it". Good to know that the customer doesn't matter when you make a mistake. Overall the coffee was pretty bad so we dumped it on our walk and the avocado wrap was bland. I'm still struggling to understand how a coffee shop doesn't sell regular pour over coffee or have better decaf options (with labeling to avoid mistakes). I guess people nowadays want specialty coffee drinks so it is what it is. read more

I got the oat milk Nutella latte. It was clearly labelled, as my partner got the same drink but with whole milk. I appreciate the clarity. The drink is very slightly sweet by default. There were plenty of seats available, this is a nice spot to pick up coffee or chat near Ogilvie Transportation Center. Just before 11, a coworker and I ordered ahead online for pick up at 12:30 PM. We both wanted to set our pick up time for noon, as it said that was the next available time slot, but after selecting our orders we both got errors that it was "too soon for pick up," so we rearranged some work and went with the next available time slot -12:30. Upon arriving at 12:30, we picked up our food (and my coworker's coffee) and walked back to our office. The coffee was cold, the food was lukewarm, and the fries I ordered were soggy- clearly they sat there a while. We noticed that our tickets both said "pick up at 11:30" - an hour earlier than we ended up selecting... as such, I checked my email because it seemed unlikely we both would have made the same error. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. I asked for crispy hashbrowns and they gave me some of the rawest potatoes I've ever seen. Potato was so raw I swear it still had roots and was about to flower. this couple has a ton of seating compared to the one in Streeterville, which is big but always packed! I stop to the other week for a quick coffee to go. I didn't feel like something sweet so I went for the Fredo latte. This drink was so pretty when it came out! I loved seeing the different layers of milk. Hands down the best cafe in Chicago. Ordered the falafel plate and a side of steak (done rare) and it was my favorite meal in Chicago so far. The baked goods all looked so impressive and can't wait to come back to try more dishes. The menu provided a wide array of sides and dishes, so come open minded!
