Loved the classic arcade games, the variety of signs and bicycles as decoration, and how small and personal it all felt inside. I indulged in the Classic Curious dog, which was filling and delicious. I went to this establishment with friends from out of town and after ordering food was yelled at by the staff. I could not understand what the staff was saying and they informed me that they would GET A MEGAPHONE if they needed to for me to hear them. They also informed me they could not serve me water as they did not have time and I would have to just purchase bottled water instead. The customer service at this establishment has a lot of room to grow and improve before I would recommend anyone else to visit them. The atmosphere seems somewhat hostile. read more

I was told that this place was great, however, the server/cook with long hair and piercings was very mean and rude. He was shaking his head because somebody did not tip him and cussin, moreover, he used his bare hands to put salsa on my hotdog and then used the same hand to take cash and cards from other people. My gf and I became...curious...about Curious Dog as we walked by it. Seeing as it was 15 degrees outside and we could not feel our bodies any longer we decided to go in. For some reason the good folks at Curious Dog decided that it was a good idea for the door to be ajar during this freezing cold day. I told the guy at the counter and he yelled across the restaurant that "that's just how the door was." Fair enough! Having never been before we asked the previously mentioned guy what the deal was here...to which he pointed at the menu on the wall and said "that one's hotdogs, that one's sandwiches." A man of few words. I was a bit surprised that hotdogs were $6 (add fries and a drink and it's somehow double that price). I figured it must be a serious hotdog for that price, so we decided to get the $12 combo and split it. We were hoping for a big, plump wiener (haha), but when it came out it was basically the longish-thin cheap kind that you'd buy in a grocery store, with a bunch of slaw on top of it. The fries were a bit greasy although the portion was plenty for two people. Both were very tasty, but I just can't see paying $12 for this combo again. Bring the price down a little bit! read more

I really want to love this place...I absolutely adore the concept and the variety of the menu. We've been numerous time and have always felt like we were inconveniencing the person making our order; seriously, the people who own this place can be downright sour, which sucks when you're spending $35 on hotdogs. My husband calls this place "condiment hell"...to be fair, he's a bit of a purist (not the right place for him). This food was okay. I was not pleased by the price. I also was not terribly impressed by the video game selection and have not returned for thier arcade selection much prefering our other arcade options in town. If you're gonna serve higher end food, and make it creative, I guess you have the right to charge a premium. On my visit to Knoxville I decided to take a walk in the downtown area. I came across this hot dog place and walked inside. The vibe was cool and they had video games that I haven't seen in ages. The guy working the counter was super cool so I decided to place a order and try a dog and a beer out. I'm glad I did! This had to be one of the tastiest inventions on a hot dog that I tasted. I had the curious dog, which was a mixture of potatoes salad, bacon and BBQ sauce all in one . It was super delicious! And the beer was good too. While visiting Knoxville last week I decided to give Curious Dog a try. I really enjoy a good hotdog and I was excited by the menu. In terms of beer selection and atmosphere this place is awesome! Being that the hotdogs should be the main attraction I was disappointed by the quality. Although my hotdog was prepared right in front of me, I noticed that all the ingredients (including the actual hotdogs) were low quality store purchases. Simple things like potato salad and bacon, which can easily be prepared in-house, came from a prepackaged container. The final product was very middle of the road. This menu has so much potential, if only the ingredients were of a better quality.
