Decent place to eat from, nothing super special here. Price aren't bad, they have a big menu of items they offer. A lot of the items here are a little on the blander side though and they have made some small mistakes when ordering and delivering my orders before. But you know what you are getting into every time you eat from here it's consistent. Also, like a reviewer mentioned they have grits which I'm excited about. You have no idea how hard it is to find a diner / restaurant that serves grits in the area. They also have turkey sausages another had to find diner item in the area. Ordered delivery from here while in town for a wedding. I was very happy - the portion sizes are huge, the prices are reasonable, and it's pretty much exactly what you want out of diner food. Ordered breakfast from here and it was meh. We got Dax's California Omelet, corned beef hash, and the pile up. The omelet was okay but they put a completely black avocado on top. The corned beef hash was definitely from a can and was completely mush. We asked for over easy eggs and it came with scrambled eggs. The pile up was pretty good. Delivery review: I've never been the the Bedford Street Diner but i have ordered delivery from them twice. My fiancé is absolutely obsessed with their Red, White, and Blue Waffles. When I found out that they served grits, I was excited! Their eggs benedict selection is great and their Omelettes are delicious. We've never had any issues with delivery or food. It's definitely our go-to for breakfast food. If the owners read this, can I make a request to add hashbrowns to the menu?? That would definitely earn five stars! A solid perfectly acceptable diner. Came in for breakfast on a weekday. Pretty quiet. Found a waitress who, occasionally, when she felt like it would come to take our order. Strangely was never offered any coffee refills. What kind of diner is this?! BUT but but, my omelette was delish. A good amount of ingredients. I am a women of color and I was seen by the only waitress while waiting to place my order. Instead, she walked over to the table directly next to mine and took the order of two gentlemen who were void of color and they received their food and were eating while I sat and still waited. I actually had to signal for the waitress to wait on me. Some would say, you should have left and you are correct but I was actually hungry. This is a really good family friendly diner! I came here for brunch and was not disappointed. I got the Bedford Street special which came with all the fixings...bacon, eggs, hash browns....you don't think it is filling but one you are eating, you see how filling it is! I've tried, because I like the guy who owns it -- but the food really isn't very good and the prices can get high for certain things. Look -- this is a perfectly acceptable diner. You're not going to get sick and the people are pleasant. I've ordered basic breakfasts and lunch sandwiches and everything is fine -- but nothing is really good. Also, the prices on the online menu don't match what they are using the in the diner, so be careful when ordering. read more

Family owned & they usually have a family member in the diner at all times. Mediocre food - by far the worst diner I've eaten at in Stamford and/or ever. Buttermilk pancakes were barely warm after a 1-minute drive home and yes - I ordered when I arrived at this establishment. And, my well done home fries were a touch warmer than the pancakes. Big disappointment when you have a hankering for diner food. The Diner scene in Stamford can have its peaks and valleys, but for consistency I've yet to find a joint that beats Bedford Street. I've been eating Banana Pancakes, Donuts, and BEC Croissants here for years now and they never disappoint. It starts with the staff. Always welcoming and always smiling... The moment I walk in I'm immediately tended to; the staff even knowing my preferred seating preference and opening course (usually the yogurt parfait with honey). My cup is never low on coffee and they are very accommodating with requests. The food itself has never let me down either. Admittedly, I've almost exclusively gone here for breakfast/brunch but I've tried dishes from each major category and have always had a great meal (Napa Eggs Benedict!). With that said, I can't speak much for the lunch or dinner meals unfortunately. The seating is the only knock for me where I wish they had more booths and space. I understand the limitations and they make the best of it. They have barstool seating at the main counter to help add more capacity, but if you come with a group of two or more, the booths become a precious commodity and getting seated in the center of the floor can get cramped and puts you in the path of servers going back and forth. At the end of the day, for a diner, Bedford Street does it right and hits on food and service. Coming here when it's not crowded is optimal, but it doesn't take away from the service or quality either. Even when the place is slammed, I've never experienced service degradation or poorly prepared food... They maintain that consistency and for me that's huge in a Diner. read more

Great first experience! The food is delicious with good sized portions. The restaurant is a bit crowded but standard for a diner. The menu is very wide with breakfast, lunch and dinner so there's something for everyone. A little pricey with $10-12 omelettes and $12-15 sandwiches, but pretty comparable with other diners. Very disinterested staff and owner. Eggs are very small for an omelet. Took 15 minutes which was way to long with only 3 people in the diner. Owner to busy talking to his regular crones and just passing me by to even recognize me or say hello a few times. We all were sitting at the counter. Bedford St. Special - perfect balance of eggs, meat and sweet! While its always possible to screw up eggs - my over easy were perfectly cooked, the sausage was crispy & tasty and the pancake was delicious!! Overall I found all the prices to be a little steep, especially compared to other diners in the Stamford area. But hey they are really close to the police station and court house so they are going to get business. I grabbed a Collins sandwich. I ordered food to go the other day. Their online menu was last updated 2013. Come to find out, one of the items listed, The Balboa, was no longer offered. I was told "We don't do roast beef any more". I tried the Chris Cavaliere and what read as chili tasted more like refried beans...and yet smelled like Alpo. I'm not sure if they changed the listed ingredients or not, but it was awful. They also neglected to include the sour cream and salsa. The Collins was decent, but nothing special. Prices are hard to find online & differ from the current ones. They should take better care of updating their website menu. read more

Incredibly dirty. The bathroom is dirty. The walls by the tables are dirty. The food is okay. The broom the waitress used to clean the floor WHILE I WAS EATING looked like it was 500 years old... My favorite diner in Stamford. It is one hidden gem that we took a while to notice but once we did, we almost stopped going anywhere else for breakfast. Everyone around at Bedford diner is so sweet and kind. Their service is quick and always upto the mark. I love going here and have recommended this place to many friends.
