CXI is the perfect spot inside the Great Mall in Milpitas, CA for exchanging your international currencies or dollars for other currencies. I have been using them every now and then. Exchange rates vary daily depending on foreign currency highs and lows. Whether it's for Japanese Yen, South Korean Won, Hong Kong Dollar, Euros or Mexican Pesos, I never had any problems working with them over the years. Great solid service as needed and no additional questions asked. CXI does charge high fees for processing, which is included in the actual amount you're getting back and quite convenient if you don't carry a lot of currencies and don't want to go to a bank. Don't expect equal currency value for other currency values since CXI fees are high. Great place to cash in extra currencies in small amounts, especially after a trip abroad. Otherwise, pay more to buy more international currencies. I didn't know that most places don't accept 1 euro and 2 euro coins. Yes, those convenient coins are always leftovers after trips. Some currency exchange spots don't accept those coins either. U.S. banks are extremely picky. They would accept actual paper money, but not coins. Interesting. Glad to have CXI open daily here. I was able to exchange 19 euros at CXI with no issues this week. They may have limited amounts of currencies or too much of one type on hand. Overall, convenience works here. Staff is professional and nice too. If you have extra 1 euro or 2 euro coins, this place will take them. I'll be back. read more

Reserved currency online to pick up. The cost got the kiosk noticeably more than the online estimate and the agent blamed the rate. After I paid and got the receipt, it showed he had added an extra $5.95 fee without any disclosure. I went back and got a refund but it's pretty scummy to be charging customers without telling them or asking or posting. Their website says there are no exchange fees in California at company owned stores, so it looks like they're preying on people who assume these are required fees. read more

Fast but expensive, they definitely take advantage of the fact that there aren't too many currency exchanges in the area. The exchange rate for mexican pesos (at the time of this post) is 18.69 pesos for 1US dollar. They exchanged my dollars for 17 pesos (actually 16.9924 after looking at my receipt). So definitely not the best and even more expensive than the airport in MX. read more

I was going to Europe and time got the best of me and I forgot to order Euros from my bank. I looked online and saw I could easily place and order and pickup my currency the next day. Score! I decided to go early in the morning right when they opened to get in and out. I was the first one in line and the whole process was very simple and I think they have a fair exchange fee. They had my order and the whole transaction was completed in under 10mins. I can't speak to if you can exchange money without an online order but it's most likely preferred to ensure they have your currency in stock or need to order it. My only criticism is it's on the other side of town from me but what can I do? I made the drive and it was worth it to get the Euros I needed. I recommend their business! read more

Quick and fast to exchange for cash. They were nice and quick. Will come back and get my money exchange here.

Cost in total about 10% over the exchange rate at that moment, which didn't seem onerous to me. The only problem was that they didn't have as much cash (Chinese Yuan) as I wanted. I got 1500 there, and had to go to their store in Palo Alto to buy the other 1000. (That was most of what the other store had as well, so either way I would have had to go to two stores.) Note that this place is a standalone booth in the middle of a walkway inside the mall. I was looking for a storefront and initially walked right by the booth, not seeing what it was. read more
