I love being a member of the Patelco Credit Union, and frequently do business with the Campbell, CA, branch. You can imagine my surprise when I got back from a recent vacation to find a vmail message wanting to talk to me about refinancing my car loan. Who calls their customers to offer cheaper loans and a chance to refinance to take advantage of additional savings ? I was amazed to get such a call. Just walked through the application update process with Grant and Guadalupe earlier today, and I have been approved for a lower monthly rate, saving me finance charges as well as allowing me to apply more of my extra payments each month to help me pay down my loan faster. For my needs, having been a Patelco customer since 2012, credit unions are the way to go. Having them reach out to refinance the loan without any prompting really shows that Patelco goes the extra mile to take care of their customers' needs and help me save money. read more

I don't even know where to start with praising the Campbell Patelco branch at 1790 South Bascom Avenue. While Patelco itself has all the features and services I require in order to manage my accounts/payments/etc, it is the people that make this branch an extraordinary place. Everyone there goes way beyond what's required to help me, keep me informed and make sure that I understand the features and services I utilize at the branch. For example they have helped me learn about wiring funds and what symbols on an ATM assure me of fee-free transactions. When I wanted to purchase a CD they were happy to discuss and compare interest rates and durations. And best of all they do it with warmth, charm, grace and patience. Plus, every time I walk into the Campbell branch I am greeted with a big smile and a warm "hello! good to see you". read more

It is very nice to have a patelco bank in the area of campbell, ca instead of traveling all the way to almaden exp. A plus that it's only less than 10 mins from my work. Bank is very, clean and organized. Not too crowded but again it can be that I came during lunch hours lol. I needed to stop by there to do a cashiers check, a nice worker lady named Madelyn s. Helped me. She was very nice and friendly which is awesome because not a lot of bank tellers are. On top of getting a cashiers check, she also helped me with opening up a savings account for both my kids in which I been wanting to.do but have not had time. She made this experience well, made all their accounts and explained all in detail. Overall, experience with this bank is a 5 star. I value the respect and helpfulness the bank has with their customers. I will def be doing business with them again !!! read more

Pros: Friendly reps, great location, easy acces Cons: No way to phone a representative you've spoken with in the past to resolve an issue. There is no direct phone number to the Campbell Branch, and unless you have an extension for the rep you spoke with previously, there is no way to leave a message for, or speak directly to, that individual. Additionally, the rep's contact cards do not include their phone extensions. Your only option is to wade through myriad phone trees that lead you to more of Patelco's "services." In other words, no one wants to talk to you unless you want to take out a loan or sign up for another service of some kind. You HAVE to make an appointment ahead of time to speak with a human being. I find this inconvenient when a simple phone call could have resolved my issue. Customer convenience is lacking, while it appears credit union convenience is paramount. read more

Recently, I went to Patelco Credit Union to open up an account for a CD. I had an appointment with a call reminder earlier in the day. When I went inside, I was helped right away and sat down to wait. I was offered coffee/tea which I thought was a nice gesture. I was then introduced to Kathy who would be helping me with my CD. Kathy did a stellar job with the process and was highly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The whole process was carried through in an organized and easy to understand manner. All of my questions were answered and I received a folder with all the information to take home. There also wasn't any pressure to sign up for other services like some other banks do- I appreciated that. I highly recommend Patelco- Kathy is great! In a few moments, she opened all my accounts with minimal paperwork and gave me my ATM card right away. She followed back with me several times via emails to see if I had any questions or needed any clarification. EXCELLENT experience with Jacob Morales with him assisting me finding a loan with a low APR, so that I could consolidate all my credit card debt and get a lower APR versus any other place I looked. He was very knowledgeable about various loan types and was able to lookup other APR rates at other companies to ensure I was getting the best rate possible. I decided to join another credit union after moving to the Bay for a few months. Figured I couldn't be with my good ole OC Credit Union forever. :( I would have to say, they don't have much perks here besides the fact that they, like any other credit union have amazing rates on auto loans and home loans. The representative that helped me open my account here was decent. Looks like a 15 year old kid but he handles his bizzz pretty well. Few downsides to this biatch of a credit union, you have to pay for your own personal checks if you want to order any AND they do not have an in-house credit/debit card maker machine. My old credit union had this and it was the most convenient thing when you had to report some scandalous ish going on on your account or you simply just wanted a new card. Printed right then and there for ya, no hassle and no waiting 4-7 business days in the mail for it either. Another thing, when I come in to deposit or withdraw anything, I always gonna sign the receipt WITH my driver's license number! Insanity! I haven't memorized my license ever since receiving it at the age of 16. Bah! Patelco better step it up soon, so far...I'm just feeling "meh" with em, ain't nothing special, just anotha bank. read more
