    Beef Brisket sandwich with sauce
    Starlite C.

Really authentic North Carolina bbq. Chopped pork sandwiches & really good hush puppies. We agreed the Mac and cheese had really nice consistency but needed some seasoning. The sauces are really stand out and we also had some chicken chunks that I would suggest skipping. The sweet potato casserole was really sweet and a treat for sure. Location is between Chesapeake and the OBX so a little bit of a drive if you're in Hampton Roads, Elizabeth City location may be closer. To be fair we only had the chopped brisket and chopped pork for sandwiches. I wish it was more smoked but still very good. The location had really pretty outdoor seating so I'd still recommend the location if you're up for a quick bite. We didn't try any of the other sides so I can't say how they are but the hush puppies were absolutely amazing!!! For the price it was a good option for something to grab on the way home from the OBX.

Really good Eastern NC BBQ. Exactly what you'd want and expect in Carolina BBQ, smoky, salty and peppery with creamy slaw. Sides were excellent too. Great spot for lunch on the way down to the OBX from the 757.

Absolutely delicious BBQ! We drove from Chesapeake at the recommendation of new friends and we were not disappointed. We tried burnt ends, pulled pork, pulled brisket, French fries, sweet potato casserole, Mac and cheese, baked beans, hot dog, hush puppies, and potato salad. Every single meat and side was phenomenal. Perfect pricing, perfect portions. Service was awesome and they were kind and friendly. Building is older, but it adds to the small town bbq ambiance. Zero complaints. We will be back and highly recommend it!

We stop here on the way home from the Outer Banks every time we visit! It's such a nice barbecue spot with good prices and great food! It's a cute little spot with quick service anindoor as well as lovely outdoor seating. Definitely recommend it for anyone coming this way!

Food here is really good. Affordable prices, very polite staff, portions are average. Restaurant interior is old but clean, and it is a great stop on the way to the beach. Highly recommend.

A place you don't want to miss

We didn't take any pictures of our food because it was so good we ate it up fast and even had a second helping. I am so glad we stopped The Hushpuppies were the best I have ever had; sweet tasting, yummieness. Would definitely stop again! Plus, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean.

I love stopping here halfway between the airport and OBX. I got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, extra slaw on the side and beans. tastes exactly the same every single time. Be sure to add some Texas Pete's and it is the best BBQ sandwich.

We were traveling back to Norfolk from the OBX, and though I was full because we had already eaten, I decided to stop and purchase a bottle of their North Carolina style BBQ sauce. The place was bustling and everyone appeared to be enjoying their food. I tried the sauce when I made it home to Louisiana and really enjoyed it. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely try some of the meats.

If you get the pulled pork sandwich, hushpuppies and fries it is PERFECTION. I could absolutely eat my weight in hushpuppies. THEY ARE LITTERALL THAT GOOD. The platters are not as good as my VA Beach local spot Im in love with so I will have to give them a solid 4. When we asked for Brisket I thought it would be a chunk of brisket. It was pulled meat. That is ok but I am spoiled when it comes to BBQ. They have a few sides to choose from. The potato salad is good but It taste like everyone else. Stick with the pulled pork sandwich and hushpuppies and you will be fine. DONT FORGET THE HUSHPUPPIES!!!!!! I'm hungry just talking about them.

This is our second visit. Super excited. Just a few mins away from Morris farmer market. Another. Must stop. Grab some napkins and thank me later.

The real deal for NC BBQ! No frills, just the way local folk like it. Plenty of seating, inside and out with ample parking and room for pets to take a nice break. When leaving the Outer Banks and heading north, hold your hunger past the beachy tourist joints until you get here. You will not be disappointed!

Our family of 5 dropped by in the early afternoon on a Wednesday. We were warmly greeted, seated and made to feel comfortable and at home. The decor is simple and cute. Several tables are constructed of old doors, decorated and covered with glass. Many other artistic and creative decorative touches highlight this cute cafe. There is a good selection of beer, wine and specialty drinks as well as a great assortment of soft drinks. The menu has a wide selection of apps, sandwiches and salads (all unique and intriguing) I am a guy who enjoys a great burger from the great selection. I ordered the "Double Ringer Burger" and added bacon. I just found the best burger that I ever had! Two perfectly seasoned burgers were seared on both sides and perfectly pink in the middle. They were served on a tasty brioche bun with three deep fried onion rings and highlighted with a special sauce. All of the selections chosen by our group earned great reviews from my family. Portions are generous and served with a choice of sides. The house-made desserts sound delicious, but none of us had room to partake. Pass The Salt is well worth the drive from Sandbridge (1 hour).

Better than any other frog legs I had since it is usually tougher meat. Calamari - 5/5. Light batter, fresh, and soft! Fried soft crab sandwich - 4/5. The soft crab is amazing. The bread just relatively slightly bigger than the crab so there are bites I only have bread. But the flavor is very good! Oyster & shrimp basket - 4/5. This was the daily special item when we ordered. The shrimp was big and oyster was good. Just think the oyster is smaller than expected but good flavor overall. We had fried okra on the side, it was good but wish there is a bit more salt. Cocktail sauce, ketchup is placed on each table so it was helpful and convenience. The ladies bathroom had no soap left in the dispenser nor paper towels nor an air dryer .... When the right order arrived, it was delicious and we appreciated the food. We had to flag down our waitress who was also the bartender to pay. We were clearly done for a bit and it was frustrating to have to wait and then finally just get up and go over to get the ticket. A lot more attention was being paid to the bar patrons than we were offered. Finally, when we were leaving, my grandson held the door open for the group of ladies in their 80's that were entering the restaurant. The THREE staff members holding down the hostess station yelled at him to shut the door. Seriously? So my suggestion is to teach your staff to pay attention to your customers more frequently while dining, clean the restroom SEVERAL times a day, and discover that being kind to your elders is a sign of respect. How about coming from behind that desk and assisting the patrons in vs yelling at someone who's trying to help them into your establishment. It's too bad because we liked the food- but we won't be back after the experience.
