I was excited to try this new restaurant because it's so close to my house and I love Indian cuisine. It's located in the Clayton Station near Sweet Bakery with ample parking. I called in my order and it was ready when I arrived. The dining area is small yet intimate. Spice bins line the tall counter. It almost looks like art. I appreciate that they ask what spice level you prefer for each item, thus customizing the dishes to your liking. My favorites when ordering Indian food are chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, fish tandoori, prawn biryani and garlic naan. I tend to choose these dishes so I can compare them to other restaurants nearby. I can honestly say I enjoy Curry Bowl as much as Naan n Curry. The only difference is the price. Curry Bowl is a few dollars more per dish, but the proximity to my house can't be beat. I hope Curry Bowl does well here. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Simply put, Curry Bowl reminded me of the food that I ate growing up back in India. It's a small restaurant with the most basic decor. But don't let that trick you as the food here is anything but basic. What I loved about my experience here was: 1) Exceptional service - Our attendant was one of the sweetest possible humans I've met. He served food to my husband and I with such love. 2) Phenomenal food - From the PANEER TIKKA MASALA to GARLIC NAAN to their BIRYANI, everything was perfect! Simple but powerful flavors. The paneer simply melted in my mouth and the curry was delicious. The BIRYANI definitely stood out to me and I'm pretty sure that it's one dish I'm going to repeat on my each and every visit in the future. There's no doubt this restaurant is here to stay for long! I would like to start by mentioning that they have very friendly Staff :) I have been there a couple times and my experience has always been great. Their food is amazing, their prices are very fair in my opinion. I forgot exactly what I ordered, (my friends ordered for me), but it was very good and authentic! Well this place was kind of a bummer. Ordered off doordashed, food was packaged well. I ordered everything "extra spicy", instead I got baby food mild with a little container of cayenne pepper. A newborn infant could've handled the spice level of this food. I initially mistook the chicken tikka masala for soup, as it had about 5 small chunks of chicken in it and was mostly mild, thin, mediocre sauce with very little substance. On doordash their big selling point was that the chicken was boneless. !!! That's great bro, but doesn't justify the price point when compared to other restaurants in the area that also offer boneless chicken but actually include substantial amounts of chicken. The chicken vindaloo was okay, but again, an infant could've handled the spice level. It should also maybe have been relabeled as "potato vindaloo with 4 pieces of chicken". It's a good thing I have a GD arsenal of hot sauces on hand and was able to add not just heat, but actual flavor to the food. At least they didn't f up the rice or garlic naan. read more

This place is still fantastic. We got the Lamb Vindaloo (again) and the Palak Paneer (again) and some onion naan. We didn't realize we were ordering almost the same as we ordered last time; I guess we are creatures of habit. It was every bit as good as last time and made me really mad at myself for not going back sooner and more often. This is fantastic Indian food. The onion naan will make you want to embrace carbs for life; honestly, I wish we'd ordered 2. We also got the Raita, a flavorful and cooling yogurt sauce, which was a perfect counterpoint to the delicious spiciness of the other dishes. Oh my! We made a reservation for 815pm today.. As soon as we walked in, we had a very warm welcome from the girl at the register. We took a while too order and she was very patient. All the staff was very polite and catered to all our needs. Always checking in on us to make sure we were doing OK. The place was very clean, quiet, and the food was amazing. We even took some home after. This restaurant was definitely worth stopping by, this was our first time here and will for sure be coming back again. Curry Bowl has been my go-to during this time of quarantine. Why you might ask? Well, because their chicken Biryani is pure comfort food in my book. A huge portion of chicken, rice, and Indian spices, it always hits the spot regardless of what I'm in the mood for. Also, as mentioned above, the portions are so large, I easy make at least two meals out of it! I've given Curry Bowl 4 because I wasn't in love with their tikka Marsala. I really wanted to like this place especially after reading all the great reviews, however after trying my food I just can't. I ordered chicken tiki masala and rice something simple but the issue was my chicken was not fresh and had a rubber like texture (it was probably frozen) and the masala sauce tasted exactly like the tomato basil soup from Safeway which is a few stores down and the rice was mushy and lacked saffron. Ended up purchasing $38 worth of food. Instead of having it delivered, I decided to pick it up since I had to stop by the 7/11 nearby. It's a Friday night and it's busy. Was referred to curry bowl by a friend. Me and my BF ate there the first night. I got the chicken tiki Marsala, he got the chicken leg tandoori. My plate was okay. Tasted almost powdery. BF loved his chicken leg tandoori. We got home and we both instantly had to hit the bathroom. Food was good so had no reaason to think it was that, thought it was from being hangover. So we go again the very next night! We got two orders of the chiCken leg tandori, delicious! But once Again we had to hit the bathroom instantly after finishing our plates. I love this place. We've been there 3 times already since December. The chef is from another prestigious Indian restaurant. He knows what he's doing. So I've been eyeing this place since it opened recently. We ordered pick-up through yelp for dinner last night. My bf ran in to get the order and pay in cash. It gave us a window of time for pick up. It's fairly close so we waited until the end of the range. We got the order home to eat. Everything was piping hot and packaged nicely. We ordered a mixture of things to share between the two of us: Curry chicken(ordered spicy), Prawn Biryani, Samosas, 2 types of naan, and yogurt. Everything was really good. The only thing I didn't eat was the curry chicken as I do not eat meat or spicy foods but the bf enjoyed. I had everything else we ordered and enjoyed it all. We got ALOT of food, we both ate twice soo..... 4 meals roughly. It was easy to do the yelp ordering and pickup. I'm sure we will be back. read more

Chicken Tikka Masala - again, bland and heavy on the tomato with a bright reddish/orange color, medium spice. Butter chicken - see above, very heavy on the tomato. I make this at home and while I'm not an expert and the recipe is never the same because I just throw in the spices (albeit the same spices) my husband and daughter both said they like mine better. Garlic Naan - fam said it was ok. Palak Paneer - sadly, not great. Really strong spinach flavor and not that much cheese. This is one of my favorite dishes and I wouldn't order this again if I knew it would be the same. Service was good! I asked for medium spice and it really was bland. I think I will stick to my Go To spot that I already have for Tikka Masala. We are definitely going back for the exceptional service, very quick seating and ordering process, speed of food being prepared, and overall friendliness and yummy taste. We ordered the briyanis, our staple when checking out a new Indian restaurant. The meat was so tender, and just fell off the bone, melting in the mouth with every chew. So good! The rice, however, did not have the depth of flavor that we had hoped for. It was still delicious, just not as flavorful as some of the other places we've tried in Concord. I second what another reviewer mentioned about the mango lassi. Exceptional. One of the best we've had ever. Not very sweet at all which is how we like it and the yogurt base was very, very good too. During my 1st visit we tried chicken biryani, chicken curry and Indian breads. The curry was too much tomato based. Breads were hard but Biryani was good on spices. The over all food was good. The staff was very good. Not recommended for sitting inside as its little compact. This is a new restaurant and highly recommend to try atleast once. What can I say other than it's DELICIOUS. I love supporting a locally owned business especially during these times but even with that aside the food stands out on its own. I swear everytime I order from here it just gets better and better. I've tried many dishes here but my go to is an order of samosas (so crispy yet light and nicely spiced), with garlic naan (SO GOOD and fresh) and chicken tikka masala (nicely cooked chicken with a rich yet not heavy sauce) and finished with an order of gulab jamun. The naan was great and the chicken had some good seasoning in it. One serving was enough for the two of us. So, go here with a friend and try to eat just one bowls. Two bowls would be good for a hungry 3-4 people. *One serving can feed my family (me, my wife, eldest child and my youngest. Although my middle child would probably only want just rice or naan). Also, try out the different flavors of naan.
