Still delicious no matter how many times we eat here. The food is fresh and flavor, definitely a family favorite.

Still a great little place for Thai. Service always quick and friendly. Small but clean and cozy. Our pork chop was a tad dry but the garlic flavor was delicious. And fried rice had umami in every bite. Yum!

Back to our local Thai place. We had the Tom Kha Soup, the fish cake appetizer, the pumpkin curry with chicken and some rice. The soup was great and we appreciated the waiter saying a small would work for two of use. The fish cake appetizer is more of a salad and really good. The curry was great - I love how their curries are more broth based. Overall, a solid Thai restaurant.

Fantastic food and service! The place is tiny and could use some TLC but it adds to the coolness of the spot. We loved everything we ordered. We'll definitely be going back!

Tha Lai Thong... Seafood stir fry... Very flavorful with a hint of spice.

I enjoy their homemade juices... $7 for small and $10 large. These are sold separately from the menu. They are refreshing. I tried their Tom Yum Soup. Soup was flavorful with lots of chicken and mushroom. I lacked of a tangy, lime flavor. And, they do not offer Asian soup spoons. I don't like using metal spoons for my soup. My husband's favorite dish is the Durnken Noodles or Pad Kee Mao. Thick noodles with basil sauce. We also enjoy their yellow curry. Overall, the restaurant is consistent and priced reasonably compared to other restaurants. Support your local business and visit this restaurant if you're in the area.

There are plenty of Thai restaurants in this area and I am excited to try all of them! This is the first in the area I am trying. I was craving Pad see eww with beef and chicken satay. I did not have a menu with me and ordering as I was driving, darn if I knew they had stuffed chicken wings I would have ordered that too! Not many places have the stuffed angel wings and when you can get them, you should try them! Not everyone does it well either, so you just have to try it! The pad see eww did not have the hint of sweetness I often have with other pad see eww. This was more using the dark soy sauce (which has a distinct taste) so more salty dry kind. I skipped the eggs which I personally do not like in my pad see eww. This was bland other than the salty taste-good with broccoli in it and carrots. I suspect a bit too much dark soy sauce was put into the dish per the taste. It was still good enough to satisfy my craving though. Chicken satay was dried out-because it is thinly cut, it can dry out faster when cooked so a fine balancing act. The peanut sauce was good but very thick and gloppy(is that a word-lol? Like gelatinous like.) and not a creamy smooth texture that I usually like or make. Cucumber salad served as an accompaniment was good and refreshing. Overall it was okay-it will do,but not the best, just okay. I might come back after trying all the Thai restaurants in the area just to try the stuffed wings!

Roti with curry sauce, 100/10 rec

This is the type of hole in the wall you want to write about, while you're still enjoying your meal BECAUSE every bite just tastes soo good and consistency with every flavor. I moved here last year, but I've been in the area for 3+ years now. I could not even try another Thai place out here cause the one I love (thought I couldn't replace is in SF!) so we were super hesitant about bringing me here and I was hopeful without reading reviews, cause he was craving pad see ew! I put him on since that was the only thing he ate. This place gives you so much flavor in their entrees. The plates come out so full, smells sooooo good and tastes so fresh. I'm drooling over every bite I had. I loved it in here so much. I was enjoying my food and not once did they rush us, the place was getting packed, but everyone that served us, and the manager (possibly) always asked if we're okay and needed anything. They had people offering to-go, coming in to get seated, and waiting outside. A true hole in the wall but such a diamond in the rough. Absolutely loved their customer service, everyone had a smile and was always patient and helped with ordering if needed. Anyway, the food we ordered 10/10 The appetizer platter (2 of almost everything) They put two of their best on the plate. $13~ 10/10 Roti with curry sauce $10 Nice and crispy, soft and chewy on the inside. Sauce was another level of taste, so good. I added it on my chicken 10/10 BBQ chicken Happy it came out chopped up, I thought it would be on skewers. Nice, soft chicken and tender! Tastey! 100/10 Pad See Ew So much flavor, rice noodles the perfect texture, beef soft and tender, veggies nice crunchy and so much flavor Loved the area. Straight to the point, little decorations here, comfy seating for the most part. My son slept with pillows. lol 100/10 come in and enjoy. I've never been to Thailand so I will not say what tastes authentic and what doesn't, but I will say, this def has the same consistency as King of Thai in the city (if not, 3xs better!)

    Lunch Pad Thai with chicken

I have been frequenting this spot ever since discovering it a few years ago. A true hidden gem! The food is consistently fresh and tasty. My favorites include the fresh spring rolls and pad thai. I usually come here to get the lunch special, the portion size is pretty large and reasonably priced. The service is usually pretty fast even on busier days. This may be my favorite thai spot in the East Bay! It's hard to find a place that keeps the quality of their food consistent and Mai Thai does just that!

Ask the Community - Mai Thai 2

Is this the same mai Thai as the one in Benicia?

Mai Thai2 on Clayton in Concord, is the only one that this chef cooks at.

It's states preorder for next day delivery. You don't deliver same day anymore?

I believe the preordering is a function of the agreement the restaurant has with Yelp Eat24 and certain food delivery apps. There are days that same-day immediate delivery is not available via those apps, especially around busy lunch hours or dinner…

    Do they deliver to Pittsburg?

Not sure about delivery to Pittsburg. Check their website. They do have a very busy "take out" business.

The minced pork sauce clung onto them really really well. The minced pork had a nice balance of sweet and savory, although it leaned towards a little sweeter than I personally prefer. But it wasn't a problem at all, since I was able to adjust the flavor to make it more savory by using the Chicken Granules, Cumin, Chili Oil, and White Pepper condiments. Overall, it was a very satisfying dish! We also tried their new shaved ice dessert. It wasn't like the Hawaiian style shaved ice which is based on frozen water, but more like Korean style Bingsoo with a milky shaved ice base. The flavor and texture were both good, but I thought it was missing the toppings. It relied solely on syrup, and I think it would've been much better with fresh fruit or other toppings to add more flavor. It was $5.99 per order as of July 2026.

Got Pig Ears and Cold noodles take out at the end: very good. Not too salty. Service was quick, accurate and finely. Very clean, simple store. Not overly decorated. Parking was easy. Everything we ordered came out fresh and well-prepared, and you can really tell there's care put into the food. If you're a fan of the type of food you get at 88 Bao Bao, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. In my opinion, it's a step above, with a much wider variety of dishes and plenty of choices beyond the usual favorites. Their beef rolls are especially worth ordering, they're much more substantial, packed with flavor, and very satisfying. Another thing that really stood out to me is the space. The restaurant is relatively clean, open, and spacious, which makes the overall experience much more comfortable than some of the smaller, crowded spots in the area. If you're ever near 99 Ranch in Concord, put this place on your list. Great food, generous portions, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere make it well worth checking out. I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!

You know that show has "Da Bomb"? Well, this place dropped "Da Nuke" on us--and didn't even bother with a warning label. I can handle my spice. My personal ceiling is the red Buldak noodles, the ones that make normal people cry and question their life choices. But this? This was beyond. I specifically asked for medium because I was on a date, not trying to audition for a gastrointestinal stuntman role. The second that food hit my mouth, my body reacted like I'd just bitten into a battery acid gummy. It felt like my mouth was cut and within minutes, I was riding a wave of nausea. By the time we got home, my stomach was auditioning for a volcano documentary. I brought the dish back to the counter and politely told the waitress this was not medium. She nodded, gave me a knowing look, and said, "We'll let the back know." And that was it. No replacement. No apology. She offered a glass of milk with just a little chuckle--like we'd been the victims of a prank show and the cameras were about to pop out. Now I realize why they made me pay and tip first. Because if I'd tasted that plate before handing over my card, that tip would've been as small as my remaining taste buds.
