I found myself at this venue because there was a fundraiser to support the local music scene. From the moment I got to the venue, there were problems. I saw the owner yell + curse out one of the bands singers for trying to bring in a bottle of water. "I need to pay the electric bill" because apparently you charge for water??? From there, it just got worse. The restaurant prices themselves were insane. I had to pay almost 20 dollars for a reheated chicken sandwich fries, and soda - none of which seemed to be made fresh. Then they called the cops on another band for drinking an energy drink IN THEIR CAR - not inside the premises, mind you, but in their car outside the venue. They also had another guy removed for drinking a coffee in his car. Then they proceeded to stand outside like a security guard and monitor every time someone came into the venue to make sure nobody bought any outside drinks in. I hope the owner realizes he lost a lot more in money by his behavior. After the way he acted, my entire party refused to spend another dime in that place. We typically buy several drinks over the course of a show + snacks, too, so he would have easily made another $50~ off of us alone, and I know many others felt the same. I will never go back to this venue again and I implore anyone else reading this to do the same. The owners are really toxic people, the food is overpriced and most likely not homemade (or if it is...yikes), and there are far better places with food to give your money to in the area - like the gas station across the street. read more

After apple picking in the Hudson Valley, my friends and I came here for dinner. The interior was lovely and spacious, decorated with lights and mini Christmas trees, making for a festive, holiday-y ambiance. There was a special menu and I ordered from there. For appetizers, we shared the pumpkin empanadas and crispy calamari with peppers, slightly spicy sauce, as well as Gorgonzola crumble. The empanada was absolutely delicious! It was a nice, large size with delightfully crispy outer shell. The pumpkin filling was plentiful and sweet, with cinnamon and other warm spices. There were also mini marshmallows on top. The crispy calamari was nice and light, yet still satisfyingly crunchy. The sauce wasn't too spicy and the creamy Gorgonzola was a great addition. I had the steak quesadilla for my entree, which included 2 different type of cheeses, red / orange peppers, and onion. This also came with a side of Spanish rice. The quesadilla was perfectly toasted and melty. There was a good amount of steak inside, which was tender, well seasoned, and juicy. The veggies were tasty as well. All the ingredients worked together to make for mouthwatering bites. The rice was okay, but on the bland side. Service was good. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. My friends and I enjoyed our time and the yummy food at this cozy place. read more

I guess those people who attended the fundraiser for local musicians weren't happy.... perhaps it isn't the best venue for a charity event but we were there today because my godsons and their dad wanted to meet up; they are in Hyde Park, I am in Croton so I looked online for a nice place halfway in between and found Plated. It was actually really good and service was impeccable despite two graduation parties taking up staff attention. The salmon was excellent and the food in general was really good; fried calamari was just perfect, not too deeply fried or oily. Also I got a kick out of Joann B. from Poughkeepsie who said "the owner Donna made such a SEEN..." if you're going to post on Yelp, learn English! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The service was painfully slow--our table waited forever just to get drinks, and it only got worse from there. When the food and drinks finally arrived, orders were missing and what they did bring out was completely incorrect. To make matters worse, the owner was downright rude. As soon as they realized we weren't spending hundreds of dollars on fancy bottles or the most expensive dishes, their attitude flipped. They clearly didn't care about us because we weren't "big spenders." Save your time and money--this place isn't worth it. Most places normal give the perfor free drinks sine all their followers come and purchase food and drinks that normally would not be there. We recently used Plated Modern American Bistro to cater the luncheon after a funeral. Not only did they acommodate our needs quickly with delicious food they also delivered it too! Thank you to the chefs and staff at Plated for wonderful food and excellent service. The Chicken Francese was tender with a wonderful lemon flavor, the Wing Dings were breaded to perfection and had a wonderful blue cheese dipping sauce, the sausage, onions and peppers had a perfect blend of spices, and finally the ziti bolognese was the bomb. Fresh bread accompanied the meal. I wish I had thought of desserts! Definitely would use their services for catering again in addition to in house dining. read more

What a find! We stopped in for an early dinner after being at the Stormville flea market all day. The hostess/owner (I presume) greeted us immediately with a smile. We ordered the cold plate to start which was great, everything tasted fresh and those fried cheese things that came with it ... amazing. We also ordered the stracci and the Italian panini. Let me tellllllll you the stracci, is probably, no, DEFINITELY, the best sandwich I have ever eaten! From the crispy of the bread, to the garlic smell when you go to bite into it, to the perfectly cooked chicken and eggplant. Wow. The Italian panini was good as well but was missing that little bit of freshness. It would of been nice if they could incorporate arugula in there somehow, maybe in the middle of the sandwich so it doesn't get soggy from the heat on the panini press. Plated has amazed me once again. My boyfriend and I went for drinks and dinner. His margarita $10 was good, but my white sangria $10 was better. With the brandy in it, it was perfect and fairly strong for what it is. Afterwards, my boyfriend (the beer enthusiast) had an IPA, which is always so fresh! For dinner, we shared both the Plated burger $15 and fettuccini imperial $19. Both were delicious. The fettuccini imperial was a enough for two people. The pink sauce in it was pretty decadent. I wish the scallops were a little meatier though. They tasted boiled. Too mushy for me. I would still totally get that meal again, or a similar one, just for the pasta sauce. Very heavy, but you can bring home left overs. It was even good cold the next day. Service still has its ups and downs, especially when it gets a little busy, but no one is ever rude. read more

Would not recommend. Walking up, I could see into the kitchen, and that was my first clue. The kitchen looked like a disaster. It did not look clean, sanitized, and ready to cook amazing meals. It looked disheveled and chaotic. If you are going to have a window for patrons to view the kitchen, try to make the kitchen look a little bit more appealing. Upon being ushered into the dining area, there were nice, comfortable looking booths that were passed up to seat me in loose chairs that looked like they had been donated to the Goodwill (see attached). The decor in the dining area looked OK but a little on the cheesy 90s era side. I ordered the pear flat bread pizza, which seemed OK, but later had me hugging the porcelain goddess. It took a very long time to get the bill, and when I received the bill, apparently my five dollar broccoli ended up on my friend's bill. It took the waitress a good extra 25 minutes to figure out how to void the total and re-ring up the orders. She was very kind, but when I apologized to both her and her manager, neither of them said, "No, we apologize for the mistake." Also, they went through all of this for $5 instead of just not worrying about it because it was their error. Nope, they wanted to make sure to go through the entire process of re-ringing to get that $5. Petty. Overall: Not visually appealing, not tasteful, service mediocre, and petty management. Will not return. I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to the reviews. read more

I recently went here to see a live band. They told me they had many reservations, especially to see the band, but for some weird reason they put the band in the smaller dining area instead of the larger dining room that could fit more people. Some guests that requested to sit near the band were not able to because the room was completely full. That was already disappointing. Then the staff (maybe the owner?) made comments about losing money because some guests preferred appetizers to share and not entrees. The service was also quite slow. It took an average of 15-20 minutes to receive a drink. My friend's table was seated for over 20 minutes without being acknowledged by the staff. They ended up having to flag down a waitress. They also forgot about one of the entrees at my table which isn't normally a big deal - but when it finally arrived the table, it looked completely rushed and undercooked. The rest of the food and the drinks were pretty good. But this experience left a weird taste in mouth and I am unsure if I will return. read more

This was first and probably last visit to this restaurant. We arrived early on a Saturday evening at 5:00pm, and were seated immediately. Service was quick and courteous. All three of us ordered the Prime Rib special, which was stated to be served with mashed potatoes, at $35.00. Shortly after placing our orders, we were informed that they didn't have enough mashed potatoes for three orders, and only had enough for one. Huh??? My wife asked for a baked potato instead. Oops! They didn't have any of those, either. Huh??? Keep in mind that we were the only patrons in the place at that time. We should have just got up and left at that point, and I regret that we didn't. But because we were hungry and already seated, I opted instead for the offered french fries, which was a mistake. They were frozen shoe string fries. They could do much better than that, at those prices. Our meals came out, Prime Ribs were cooked to order (medium rare) but mine in particular had a huge nodule of fat; it was at least 1/3 of its stated weight of 20 ounces. I understand that Prime Rib can have a lot of external fat, but this cut should have never left the kitchen. I also understand I could have been a "Karen" and just sent it back, but as a rule I simply don't return food unless it is totally inedible. Too risky. I should have just ordered a burger. We did not order any appetizers, and salads are not included. Dinner, for three, with three beers, two glasses of wine, and one Pepsi, plus an unexpected charge of $7.00 for using my debit card, came to $176.59, tip not included. Overall, service was very good but our meals (except for mine) were mediocre. For what we got (and more importantly, didn't get), I think they are way too pricey. read more

This Hopewell Junction neighborhood restaurant is worth the drive from anywhere! It's easy to find, plenty of parking and has a cozy, upscale ambiance. We were warmly welcomed with great smiles and were seated immediately. Can't say enough about our friendly, professional server. Lindsay had great recommendations and our food arrived quickly and beautifully presented. We both enjoyed a generous bowl of salmon chowder and shared a shrimp cocktail. Both were delicious. The shrimp were huge, perfectly chilled and plump with excellent cocktail sauce. My husband's entree was seafood delight, brimming with tender scallops, shrimp, muscles and clams, with linguine bathed in luscious broth. He loved it!! My arugula salad was spectacular. It was dressed with a light lemony dressing, cold and crisp and very fresh!! The combination of Gorgonzola crumbles, fresh pears, lots of perfectly cooked bacon crumbles, drizzled with balsamic glaze was perfect! Don't hesitate a moment to pay them a visit. The desserts look amazing; although we did not have dessert, next time we will. I was trying to watch my calories, but seeing the great menu offerings and stunning chicken parmigiana coming out of the kitchen will bring us back very soon. Plated is an American bistro like none other. They have a really nice space for private gatherings and the service was outstanding with really nice servers and an ownership that cares about their clients. Now to the food, they served numerous apps that were really good and beautifully served. Charcuterie served on a wooden board, with cheeses salami, olives, ham, as well as some delicious fried cream cheese balls that were outstanding. I don't know what they were exactly but they were really good. They also served excellent buffalo wings, and fried calamari that was crisp and properly done. The plates were the staple of this place and why I think it's called Plated. The salmon with Mango Salsa was absolutely delicious. The portion was substantial and the salmon was perfectly cooked. BUT then I was served my chicken parmigiana and I couldn't believe the size of this thing. It was enormous! It took up the entire very large plate. I believe it must have been an entire chicken breast, a very large one. Size isn't the only thing that matters though, performance must be at peek for the dish to come together. And boy did they perform! The parmigiana was absolutely perfect. It was so good, a great sauce and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The other dishes were really great too, and the drinks were perfectly done. A really good bartender who know her drinks and know how to make them. This place was excellent, however I don't know how they make money giving such large portions. I could have shared my plate with three other people and been satisfied. I left this place so full I couldn't keep my eyes open trying to drive back home and I didn't even eat 1/3 of the plate. I was rather surprised when we walked through the door because the exterior looks ok, rather humble, nondescript. But, it was really modern and rather stylish for this area! We were greeted with a friendly smile. Seating was comfortable. Background music was an issue. Decent wine list. The Sauvignon blanc was good. Bread was hot served w butter not olive oil. We had three entrées: the chicken piccata with spinach, a cowboy steak with potatoes and broccoli, and the mommy Lucy which was breaded chicken cutlet served similar to chicken marsala but with roasted sweet & russet potatoes. All of our dishes were tasty but not really spectacular more like average. However, the portions were HUGE, especially the Mommy Lucy (the sauce was a bit too sweet for me and the ratio of mushrooms, onions sauce vs the massive cutlet wasn't balanced. Steak was cooked correctly. Friendly & accomodating staff. If we find ourselves in this area again, will certainly make it a point to come because I would preferred to give for starters but only having one meal I feel that wouldn't be an accurate overall review. read more

I think we built up too much hype around coming back to plated. We came here probably 4 years ago on a whim and left so impressed and satisfied. My husband got the mikes famous chicken and couldnt stop talking about it for years. Fast forward to last night.. we're back at plated eating the mikes famous chicken and the recipe changed! He was so bummed. Unfortunately the cutlet just isnt flavorful and is haphazardly topped with thin slices of mozzarella cheese. We did like the drinks, my linguine and clam sauce was good, our waitress was super nice but service fell off about half way through our meal. Dont know if we'll be back. read more

First time visit and last to this restaurant. Extremely dissatisfied! We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 4 pm for a late lunch. We were presented with their priced lunch menu. We ordered an appetizer which stated homemade guacamole,which does not come with salsa nor do they have any, it was bland and tasteless. We then ordered our meals. My husband ordered Mikes special, which comes with pasta. My husband is diabetic and does not eat pasta, when he asked waitress for a vegetable substitute was told there was an up charge, he then asked her to to check with chef if he could substitute a vegetable, she came back and said yes either spinach or broccoli. Our meals arrived barely hot, my lemon chicken that came with spinach was swimming in over bearing amount of lemon juice. We did not finish either of our meals and brought it home for our dog. True meaning of Doggy Bag! We were presented with check to find the prices for our meal were priced higher than the menu we ordered from, it was priced from their dinner menu, which we did not order from or see, which we discovered on line has additional menu options. It pains me to say that I've been coming to Plated for years. I have been coming to this place because I really enjoy the atmosphere. I brought a group of 10 friends, and we were treated horribly by the manager. In addition to that, the food was not fully cooked and some of the dishes were cold. When we informed the manager about our dishes, he came over and yelled at my friend. He was very rude, and I was truly offended. You do not treat customers that way. Because of this very manager, this place has lost a long time customer. I definitely question the owner's character and ability to manage this restaurant. read more
