I always read Yelp reviews and have never been so moved to write a review until today. Unfortunately, it was not because I was impressed. I called up and ordered the Chicken Makhni and an order of Garlic naan for delivery, Aside from the sticker shock - $17.50 before tip - I was really unhappy with my food. Not sure how an order of chicken in tomato sauce with a side of rice and naan can possibly come to $17.50 even with a hefty delivery fee but it did. The chicken was way bland, watery even. My issue is not with the level of spice. Mild food is fine so long as it has flavor. And the garlic naan had huge chunks of raw garlic all over it. Yuk. An expensive lesson learned... read more

I guess it depends on what your looking for but I wanted to eat at an actual restaurant and this place is more like something you'd find at a mall. I really enjoy the food here...my favs are Keema Samosa, Shrimp and Chicken Tandoori, and Naan bread. The owner is very hands on and always around to make sure the customers are being treated properly and having a pleasant dining experience. I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Boulder over the past few years but find myself always returning to this particular one. I give them 4.5 stars on the food, 4.5 stars on the price and 4 stars on the ambiance. Overall, this restaurant gets a solid 4 in my book compared to other Indian Restaurants I've tried in the area. While the portions were a generous size, I still have to stick to the "quality over quantity" rule. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, usually a pretty safe choice (and a good rule for determining how good an Indian restaurant is). In my opinion, the curry should have been creamier and spicier. It kind of reminded me of a watery tomato soup. It wasn't BAD but it just wasn't my favorite. The naan was great, huge portions for super cheap. Meh. We were really disappointed after seeing the rave reviews on here. I don't know what the fuss is all about. My boyfriend and I got the chicken masala and paneer masala. We went here for lunch and ordered from the specials. The service was really fast, and they honored our spicy-ness request. Very generous portions. I especially liked the steaming hot nan. We stopped in here shortly after this shop opened. The chicken tikka masala was alright; but there was something slightly off about the flavor. The naan was also a bit dry. I recently went back and tried a curry dish. It was very flavorful and spiced just right for me. In addition the naan had improved drastically and the saag was delicious. The owner and his wife seemed a bit stand offish on my original visit; but were much more friendly this time. For the price this is probably the best Indian deal in Boulder. read more

I had family visiting from LA for New Years and I had never tried this place, so we showed up on a busy night and they were so friendly and helpful and attentive. They put together a big table for the seven of us, explained their menu and we all loved everything we ordered. When we left they helped us pack up our leftovers and thanked us for coming. Great Indian food, and fast! The service could be better, and I wish they'd serve food on plates rather than large cooper platers. The tables aren't big enough to accommodate 3+platters, and so our family inevitably spills a drink or don't have places for our silverware and napkins. This place is fantastic! It's affordable, and you get lots of food that all tastes great. I have never had anything there I didn't love. The atmosphere leaves a little to be desired if you're looking for somewhere to go on a date (fluorescent lights, cheap looking tables, etc.), but the quality of the food makes up for any lack of ambiance. You can order anything mild, medium, or spicy; the naan is always perfectly prepared; and the dishes are served on beautiful silver (or that's what it looks like at least) platters. First of all, I saw lots of great reviews before I decided to try Curry N Kebob. But, I really wasn't wowed with the food. It was just okay. Came in for lunch today for take-out. Ordered the Saag Paneer, my favorite thing to order at any of the Indian places around Boulder. It took about 10 minutes to come out. Basic togo order with a cup of rice and a cup of Saag Paneer. One problem is that for $8, I would have also received Naan and an order of Dal Soup at some of the other restaurants in town during lunch. The Saag was very mild, I ordered it medium and there was absolutely no heat. I added lots of hot sauce when I got back to work and it was better. I might try it again when I am in the neighborhood, but I really like Sherpas better (plus they often times give you free chai while you wait for togo orders). read more

This is the second time I've eaten here, and neither visit disappointed. I think this is the best Indian food I've had in Colorado. The prices are great...lunch special for $7.95 with plenty of food, rice and tasty Naan. Not to forget a well cooked light tasty onion baji with a homemade chutney. The owner told me today that they have signed a lease to expand into the space next door. 40 more seats and he assured me the place would be nicer to eat in (its a bit of a hole in the wall now). I personally don't care, the food is good enough to enjoy the hole in the wall. I'll be a big advertiser and regular customer of this place as long as the food stays good through the expansion. This place is a gem. A friendly family-run restaurant that dishes out very tasty, fresh Indian food. Reasonable prices, large portions. This isn't the place for fine dining -- the setting is casual and you order at the counter -- but it's comfortable and convenient. If there's a downside, it's the limited seating. So far that hasn't been much of a problem, but if more people discover the restaurant than it may become hard to get a table. read more
