I've always seen Curry Up Now pop up on the TooGoodToGo app, so I figured it was time to give it a shot. First off, their portions are very generous. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala bowl over rice, and was surprised they also included a samosa as an appetizer. Didn't realize the chicharrones were supposed to be paired with the bowl, I just snacked on them separately. No regrets though, lol. The staff was super friendly when I picked up my order. They packed everything up nicely, offered me silverware and napkins, and even gave me some water when I asked. I know it's a small gesture, but it felt nice since I wasn't a regular, just someone grabbing a discounted order from TooGoodToGo. Location-wise, it's tucked in the Price Center, and parking near that roundabout felt a little awkward, but it worked out. The food court was already closing up by the time I got there, so they were already cleaning up and didn't look chaotic like kitchens during a lunch/dinner rush. The court was pretty quiet and clean, not a lot of students around, but I was taking it to go anyway. Not the most vibrant setting, but it didn't really bother me. As for the food, it was solid. Flavorful but missing that depth I've had at other Indian spots. Still, for the price and the portion size, it's hard to complain. If I'm ever in the area again (which isn't often) and craving Indian food, I'd consider stopping by. Probably wouldn't go out of my way, but for the value, hospitality, and convenience, they earned a solid 4 stars from me.

The food here is hot and tastes great. It's the most real restaurant-like establishment in Price Center. However, the portions are small, and prices are high.

My husband brought this home as his company ordered from this place. The food is so amazing! I love Indian food. I've tried both the samosas and the Tikka Masala burrito. The samosas has a great kick to it. It's so flavorful! The Tikka Masada burrito is on point with the flavor. I have never tried a Indian curry burrito so this was so fun to eat! I definitely recommend it!

Its in a food court type of set up- plenty of tables but can get a little crowded. I walked there from work since it seems like parking can be an issue. The food itself was absolutely delicious though.

Fast Indian food with many vegan options -- what's not to like?

So, my wife and I were looking for a place to eat last Saturday evening before the Death Cab for Cutie concert at the new Epstein Amphitheater. Surprisingly -- especially considering it was Homecoming weekend -- most restaurants on campus were closed. So we headed over to the Price Center to see what was available. Curry Up Now had been on my radar because, (A) we love Indian food, and (B) they have lots of vegan options. We were happy to see that Curry Up Now was open -- we checked out the menu then placed our order. My wife and I both got the Hella Vegan Bowls, which were excellent. We also got a side order of two samosas. Our order was ready within five minutes or so. It turned out to be a TON of food. I finished off my bowl, but there was no way my wife could finish hers. And there was no way we could even think about eating the samosas -- we were stuffed. Took the leftovers home after the concert and enjoyed them for the next couple days. Excellent food and service at a very reasonable price. We'll be back again and again to check out ALL the vegan options.

for 10 bucks, the tikka and rice plate was actually gas. my homie told me this place was gonna be trash but this place far exceeded my expectations. the tikka had a bunch of spices and was very aromatic n fragrant. rice was also very tasty. i came towards the end of the day n it wasn't dry or anything. still hella moist n shi. oh and the employee at the front was also very nice and chill. we started conversating bout sacramento which is where im from. yeah but very solid place! you get a solid amount of food for 10 bucks

LOL I really liked how easy the waitlist process was. You show up, scan the QR code, add your name, number of people in your party, and get updates while you wait. Super simple and convenient. The owner, Syed Afzal, was up front checking on things while guests were being seated and to-go orders were flying out the door. He was incredibly pleasant and took the time to chat with me about the most popular items, especially for a busy Friday night after 10pm. He went over the top sellers, the most unique dishes, and he even shared a funny story about a couple who had apparently gotten into an argument/fight a few weeks back over a reserved table. LOL He also mentioned the other restaurants he and his partners have opened throughout NorCal and SoCal. Such a cool, welcoming guy, and you can tell there's a lot of pride behind what they're building and they love what they do. Now let's talk about the food and the atmosphere. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The whole restaurant had such great energy, with so many guests clearly enjoying their food just as much as I was, and some were celebrating something special by the way they were dressed. I had the goat dum biryani, and while it was packed with flavor, it eventually got a little too spicy for me, even with plenty of raita on top. So I happily took the rest home for a visiting sibling who loves spicy food. The chicken malai kebab, though? Absolutely to die for. Tender, flavorful, and easily something I would order again and again. The service was top-notch and the staff always came with a smile. Multiple people checked on me throughout the meal, and the entire restaurant ran like a well-oiled machine. I can't wait to come back with a big group so we can order a ton of different dishes and try even more of the menu. This place is popular for a reason. Couldn't be happier!

I ordered mango lassi, it came really quick and was a beautiful orange- standard mango lassi, no complaints, maybe even a little better actually The mains I got were chicken biryani and it came w raita, and chicken tikka masala that came w rice, and then I got garlic naan as well. The raita was pretty sweet which is not my preference, it tastes like sweet cream w carrots whereas I really like the onion and chili when it's more sour. The actual biryani itself is okay, not the most flavor- maybe it's because I got the non spicy. The masala was SOO good, holy cow- so much flavor, not even spice but pure flavor - the garlic naan was soft and great as well and these two dishes together were my favorite

Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the flavor. While the portion and value were solid, the curries were very bland and lacked the bold spices and depth of flavor I usually expect from Indian food. The naan ended up being my favorite part of the meal--it was the standout on the plate. Overall, great value if you're looking for an affordable meal, but I was hoping for much more flavor.

Our order also included a large to go container of basmati rice. There was plenty to feed our family of 5. We ordered mild for everything. The butter chicken was our favorite savory dish. We loved the garlic naan, for obvious reasons (garlic lovers here). The gobi manchurian was a new dish for us. It sounded good so we tried it and happy that we did. It was fresh and flavorful. We hadn't ordered Indian desserts before so we tried a little of everything. Hands down the gulab jamun was the winner! So light, fluffy and soaked in a delicious syrup. I kinda wish there were more but am glad there wasn't because I don't know if I could control myself (ha)! We ordered online and had it delivered. The wait was a little long but that is to be expected at prime dinner time. I can't speak to the service other than how they prepared and packaged the food, both of which were good. The food arrived still hot and ready to go. Overall, I think it was well priced, worth the wait and delicious. We will likely order from here again!

The restaurant itself now feels neglected, and unfortunately the staff presentation reflects that. Several employees appeared unkempt and poorly groomed, which does not inspire confidence in the cleanliness or overall standards of the establishment. They desperately need showers, shaves, hair cuts, deodorant, clean clothes and shoes. As for the food -- the decline in quality is impossible to ignore. What used to be flavorful and authentic now tastes rushed, cheap, and poorly executed. The coconut chutney barely tastes like coconut anymore. Instead, it tastes overwhelmingly of chickpeas, seemingly used as a filler to support the "unlimited chutney" concept at the buffet bar. There's little to no proper tempering or seasoning, leaving you with what feels like bland chickpea paste masquerading as coconut chutney -- a key accompaniment that South Indian food simply does not work without. Their "Chaat Night" is equally disappointing and honestly an insult to authentic North Indian chaat. The flavors, textures, and freshness that make good chaat enjoyable are completely missing. The idlis were cold and hard as rocks, while the dosas arrived cold, soggy, and utterly lacking flavor or crispness. What a fall from grace.
