Our friend that joined us said it reminded him of home and was comparable to the one he had in India as a teen. Everything is made fresh to order and will come out as it's ready. We ordered so many delicious things like the chili garlic pizza, dosa, samosa with chutney, and pani puri! Highly recommend paring it with a thumbs up (like an Indian coke) or with a mango lassi (will help balance out the spiciness) All of the items were delicious but the dosa and mango lassi were my favorite. I've ordered from this place several times, and it's become one of my go-to spots whenever I'm craving Indian street food. That said, I've learned that it can be a bit hit or miss depending on what you order. My absolute favorites are the peri peri fries and the cheese vada pav, I've ordered both multiple times, and they always hit the spot. The fries have the perfect amount of spice, and the cheese vada pav is just so satisfying. The papdi chaat was also really good. It was packed well for takeout with all the chutneys kept separate, so everything stayed fresh until I got home. The paneer sandwich had good flavor, but I personally found it a little too greasy. As for the Schezwan noodles, they were freshly made, but the flavor just wasn't for me. This vadapav was so yummy! the buns were very buttery and aloo bhajiyu was savory. The red chutney complimented really well with the buns. For the pani puri the meetha pani was the best part. Review only for the few things we ate - Vada pav - one of the decent ones ive had in the US. The chutney in the pav was on point. I think its too expensive though. Cheese Pav bhaji - Again a decent dish. More spicy than normally served, but i liked it this way. Chilli garlic bhakri pizza - This was great. Spicy, cruncy base and loads of cheese. Really disappointed in the food quality: (1) Pavbhaji was subpar - just tangy, lacking flavor (2) pani puri was soggy, chutneys were watered down (3) chole bhatura took the cake. Bhatura was dripping with oil, completely hardened. (4) vada pav was average. read more

Had a weird experience with a catering deal yesterday and that revealed how customer caring the restaurant management is! Me and my family visited the restaurant to take quote for a 25pax birthday party. Had a discussion with the staff who was very welcoming. She took our requirements and asked us to wait since she had to consult with the owner. In 20-25 mins, she came back with the quote and a possible discount proposal which she got from the owner. That appeared reasonable for us. We did some more brainstorming on the quantity asked for an alternative suggestion and since that didn't pan out well, decided to settle with the first option. This time the owner flipped like a coin saying no more discount!! We were like 'What??'! It was not even 10 mins since discounted quote was discussed and we were on the verge of making payment. Staff was very apologetic about it. It was not the lack of discount (just 40 bucks) that pissed us. It was the attitude and the outlook towards customer. I've made many catering orders with multiple restaurants in San Diego in last few years. But this experience is definitely new! We silently stepped out. Across the street, there are 4 other Indian restaurants (which they possibly forgot about)! Went to one of them, made an awesome catering deal and parted our ways. read more

So yummy! Stopped by on a whim on my way to At Ease Games. They were really busy (always a good sign of good food). The menu has so many interesting, delicious sounding things. I got a masala chai and a vegetable puff to go. The cup was really small but it's the best chai I've ever had (and a regular ol' coffe cup size would have been too much so little size was perfect). The chai was hot and wonderfully peppery and full of spice. And not sweetened (they've got sugar you can add if you like). The veggie puff was yummy and full of chili spice that warmed my mouth. I noticed too late there was a packet of a sweet & sour type sauce in the bag. Definitely stopping here for lunch every Commander night. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu. read more

The chole was crazy spicy and had a weird spice taste (probably excess of cloves). And for a restaurant that is supposed to be a vada pav expert, I am absolutely ashamed for them that they are serving such a horrible vada pav. For one, the bread was stale, and also the vada tasted old and bland and finally, mayo in vada pav??? It was neither exotic nor authentic. So I went here on Friday (9/26) which was their grand opening day at the Miramar Road location and was likely the first customer in the store in the afternoon. I placed my order and gave the teller a $20 bill and he immediately says they have no cash on hand and instead points me to a payment terminal on the counter. Ok, then I swiped my debit card into the terminal to pay for my order and the teller tells me how much tip I'd like to give! For one, I never tip on a takeout order and secondly, their termianl only has options to give a 25%, 22.5% or a 20% tip!! This is really a bullshit business philosophy of theirs and being their first customer, I have now become their last ever customer. How can a new business not have any cash on hand?? Using 'tipping' pressure on a customer is just a horrible business practice! The mango lassi I ordered was horrible too in that it was very pale in color and consisted mostly of white yogurt (see pic). All other indian restuarants in San Diego have bright orange colored mango lassis'. So obvious they're trying to save money on how much mangoes they use in the mango lassi!! Thats' not all, my Aloo Mutter Grill sandwich was exteremly hot in terms of green chillies added to the sandwich and to me was not really edible nor enjoyable! To make matters worse, they made me move my car from the handicap spot while I was there to pick-up my order so that they could put up a tent in front of the store. read more

Very arrogant staff! The Dabeli that I bought did not have typical ingredients of Dabeli like peanuts or fresh pomegranate seeds. The Dabeli masala used did not seem to be authentic one. It seems one can call anything that is mashed , seasoned with Indian spices and stuffed inside a bun as "Dabeli". The so called Dabeli was not even properly warmed up before serving.
