There was no one in the reception area when we arrived so we were just browsing their pretty inventory. Then finally two older ladies came out of the back area- I announced my presence with a "hello" since I was browsing their aisles of flowers and tropical plants and did not want to startle them. I proceeded to ask her about bushes and one of the women acted like she didn't understand a word that I said while the other one just completely walked away. (I am a GenX Japanese American north side Chicagoan and my partner is a biracial black and white north side Chicagoan as well) she was extremely snotty and rude to me like she didn't understand what I was asking her so I took her outside to speak with my partner because I was already visibly upset-so then I asked her "are you Mary? " she's like "No Mary is inside." So Mary was the other rude lady peeking out the door. I'm like thanks but no thanks. Let's go. I asked my partner in the car if it was just me and he said "no these women are rude." So as a small business minority woman myself-who runs her own small business in the city of Chicago - I WILL NEVER GO BACK there it's was not a pleasant experience shop there at your own risk.
