I have been a customer of this pharmacy for years, but recently found the customer service and pricing to be terrible! My autistic son had a compound medication there for years, and then the price went up and up with no explanation from the pharmacy. Then they discontinued it entirely and did not inform us. When I called for an explanation they were rude and did not offer a referral. Then I found out I could get the same medication for 1/3 of the price somewhere else. I guess the joke was on me! I also had a personal prescription there and had a similar issue. The price went up with no explanation. The customer service rep did not have a clue and made me wait for 40 minutes while he made various phone calls and I stood around. After all that he came back with an answer of "maybe it's your insurance." Called my insurance that that was not the case. I left without picking up the prescription. I received a voice mail from the pharmacist saying they would honor the original price for one more prescription. I went back to pick it up and after another clueless rep and another 40 minutes, they said didn't have my prescription anymore! Found it cheaper somewhere else, and will not have to endure the terrible customer service! read more

LOVE this place!!! They have been filling my Compounded prescriptions for years. Lots of cool merchandise as well, including essential oils, clean high end supplements as well as skin care. Unreal knowledge of the prescriptions, interactions and well rounded discussions of interactions with other natural supplements. The customer service is amazing and I receive text messages when my orders are filled. Great service and friendly team. They always pick up the phone and I can get answers when I need them. Prices are better than other compounding pharmacies locally. This is my go-to pharmacy for compounding!! read more

The staff is friendly, professional and on the ball. They usually take about 10-15 minutes to fill a walk-in prescription. If you leave or call in a prescription, they will call you in a reasonable amount of time to notify you of its completion. It's difficult to find a pharmacy with such good customer service. read more

This pharmacy is one of two Custom Care Pharmacies, one in San Ramon and the other in Pleasanton. The San Ramon Pharmacy made a mistake on my prescription, dropping my dosage to ONE FIFTH of the amount I should have been taking! I started having symptoms but didn't discover their error until I had refilled my prescription at their sister store in Pleasanton. When I discovered the error they didn't even offer to reimburse me. Also, in Sept 2011 I requested that my prescriptions be transferred from San Ramon to the Pleasanton office. It took over SIX MONTHS for them to transfer them, even with repeated monthly requests for me. Each time they would assure me it was done, and each month I'd discover it wasn't done. Another thing, when I pick up a prescription that I have ordered, they often have filled other prescriptions that I haven't even requested or am no longer using. Strange. I've never experienced this type of service at any other pharmacy, never felt compelled to write a review on a pharmacy before. Check your labels every time! read more

San Ramon custom care pharmacy has been excellent, but this weekend they went beyond our expectation. I had ordered a compounding medication which they by mistake had delivered to our old address. When I called them to Saturday, they had already delivered the medication to our old address the day before. They not only accepted the mistake, but they picked it up from our old address and delivered it our new address (more than 2 hours drive) by 8 pm the same day. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY. The staff is made up of incompetent imbeciles. It took me 11 days to get my prescription filled with at least 6 visits to this pharmacy to try to get it filled. Each time I went, they continued to tell me it either had to be approved by my doctor (the same doctor who issued the prescription) or insurance. My insurance approved it on three separate occasion. It was absolutely ridiculous. Each staff member I dealt with was unprofessional and very discourteous. Kaiser never gave the frustration and disrespect that this pharmacy did. Nor do they ever question the prescription or needed my insurance's approval. They do not deserve even one star. read more

FANTASTIC place!!!! I drive 7 miles past the horrible CVS up at Blackhawk to go to Custom Care. I can call in my prescription and usually pick it up within 30 minutes. They go out of their way to process coupons for medications, unlike CVS who acts as though you are a thief who is trying to steal from them when you present a coupon, and seldom, if ever honor them. Custom Care on the other hand keeps your coupons on file and let's you know if any have expired so you can get a new one before you come in. My daughter has a number of acne medications that are absolutely free when a coupon is presented. CVS would not honor the manufacturers coupon and charged $285.00 for one tube of ointment! Custom Care on the orher hand, honored the coupon with a smile and a thank you, and charged only $25.00, a savings of $260.00.....I think that says it all!!! read more

Amazing service...in this age of severe cutbacks, automated technology and lack of genuine caring pharmacists, technicians and clerks, Custom Care is above all the other large outlets that house a pharmacy in the back of the local stores (i.e., CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Safeway). After long lines, inefficiency, mistakes and lack of "caring" from several pharmacists and over worked sales clerks, I switched to Custom Care approx. six mos. ago. My prescriptions are on-going, so I renew medications every six weeks. Upon transferring our medications, I requested that they be placed on an automatic reminder, which prompts a Custom Care pharmacist to call and receive authorization from me to process renewal of the prescriptions. Jill was the pharmacist that I I initially spoke to when transferring all of my medications, however, I've had subsequent phone and personal conversations with other pharmacists, too. Upon your first visit to Custom Care, it appears to be a small shop. Don't let the interior size of the business fool you. Instead, observe the number of pharmacists and clerks working diligently processing prescriptions, answering questions and serving customers with excellent care. Their organization, efficiency, and professional expertise, including warm greetings and helpful attitudes, I am able to communicate directly with someone (usually Jill), prior to picking up my prescriptions. Interaction with the clerks (by phone or in person) has always been positive and genuine. Yes, they actually appreciate your business and specifically, respect their customers. A few medications were recently added and Jill listened patiently and answered all of my concerns and questions. When calling in, the automated system to renew and/or speak to a representative is direct, simple and prompt. If you're tired of long lines, cold and inconsiderate clerks and pharmacists, and mistakes being made when filling your medications, I strongly recommend that you give Custom Care the opportunity to service your needs. It's refreshing to share my loyalties and business with the pharmacists and technicians at Custom Care. Thank you for what you do. read more

I've been using CC San Ramon for a few years now and they've always been excellent, but today they went above and beyond when I had an issue with my insurance company. This is by far the worse pharmacy I have ever used. They don't carry a lot of medicine and wouldn't call when the meds are done until you complaint. Recently I had to pay triple the normal cost because they didn't carry the brand that Medicare would cover. When I asked for the reason for the high cost, they just gave me a wrong number to call and I had to figure everything out myself. I won't list out other problems one by one here. I have been using Custom Care for years after i became fed up with CVS. There are extremely helpful, will deliver to San Ramon locations for $5. Easy access to talk to pharmacists. Front staff very professional and nice. Occasional glitch, where they dont fill Rx because insurance doesnt cover it, but didnt check with me first. But any glitches are easily fixed. Their hours can be a problem. Have had to use CVS after visiting urgent care on the weekend or evening. I will stick with this pharmacy because of the personal service. read more
