Cut 38 just lost a group of locals who dine out all the time. I arrived and went to bar outside for a drink while waiting for several friends for dinner. I had my 35 pound 11 year old super friendly dog with me. Bar manager said dogs are allowed outside or anywhere on the premises of Cut 38. I had been there with my dogs and other friends dogs many time outside for happy hours. He said a dog bit a customer recently so they banned dogs. The bar manager made me leave and wasn't very nice. The restaurant was not that crowded as usual and the few people there were shocked I was made to leave. Comedy. We all live across the street in different buildings. I told all my friends who were on the way what happened so we all met at Baiires Steakhouse and had dinner outside on patio. We all decided never to go to Cut 38 again and we will tell our friends to avoid this place. Many of us have dogs and do happy hours and dinner often. We all live across the street and usually walk over. Plenty of restaurants in the area to go to easily avoiding Cut 38, easy work. The Italian place next door H20 is also the same owner so am sure dogs are not allowed there outside too, easy work we will all avoid that place too. Unheard of, first restaurant that doesn't allow dogs outside lol. The manager said the owner banned dogs recently for the entire restaurant even outdoor lol. Cut 38 is usually not never busy, no it'll likely get even less busy their ban on dogs outside. Also Baires Grill in same shopping center has much better steaks in my opinion. read more

Cut 38 was, hands down, one of the best surprises of my weeklong Miami business trip. It was a Friday night and the end of my stay and I wanted to celebrate with a nice dinner before heading back home. I found this little treasure and almost drove past it. The exterior was tasteful, yet unassuming of what awaited me inside. The ocean winds were quite strong that night so I decided to take a seat at the bar inside. A handsome young bartender greeted me with a bright and beautiful smile and introduced himself as Hans- my new buddy. He hooked me up with a delightfully dirty Tito's martini and left me to drink in my perfectly chilled libation and the warm relaxing atmosphere. It was a lovely feeling. In the front corner, was a beautiful songstress and her talented musician accompaniment. She was singing a Stevie Nicks song with such reverence and amazing pitch that I wanted to close my eyes and feel her words interwoven with the warm tropical air. What tremendous chemistry they had together! I was nearing the bottom of my martini and my appetite was whetted. The house specialty was Prime Rib and it had my name written all over it. My friendly bartender informed me that I had just ordered the final cut of the evening. Boy, did I feel lucky! My order was placed and my mind went back to the musical enchantress. She was taking requests and someone threw her a monstrous challenge. Adele. Now, what made this request so amazing wasn't the fact that she definitely had the pipes for it, but rather that she and her piano man had never before practiced for Adele. They took a short break, and I watched them find the words and the music to grant this request. They both listened to the song on a smartphone and within a matter of about 10 minutes, well... I'm just going to keep this part short and sweet... they NAILED it! Absolutely blew it out of the park! Bravissima! I was lost in the music and atmosphere when Hans placed before me a perfectly cooked prime rib and baked potato. Now, I humbly consider myself a connoisseur of this particular cut, so please believe me when I say that I was beyond delighted with every single thing about my order. The cut, the portion, the temperature, the seasoning- all was impeccably exquisite. I didn't want that night to end. It was perfect. The warm ocean winds, the amazing music, the smile and genuine friendliness of the best bartender, my unbelievable meal- well, I just drank it all in and it was intoxicatingly perfect. We have been here before and always had good experience, but never had any interactions with this employee. We were told about this place from some locals who said it was the best place for steak. My wife ordered her regular filet mignon- butterflied and medium well. I guess for her not having anything bad to say about it other than being dry was a good thing. I tried it and found it to be dry also. The steak was definitely not the best either of us have had And the cost of this one was almost double the cost of better ones we are use too. I ordered the pork ribs which were not impressive either. The menu advertised they were slow cooked-fall off the bone. Uh no. I'm from Texas so my expectations are high when it comes to ribs or barbecue of any kind and this fell well short. Pros: the atmosphere is awesome especially at night on the patio with the condos lit up. Cons: expensive. The food is not worth the price. The food is wonderful but this restaurant implemented a $7 sharing charge without putting it on the menu. We only found about it when we were paying the bill after going to this restaurant for quite some time. They refused to count one of our orders which was a salad and was one of our meals, claiming that in order to avoid a service charge, both parties are required to order an entree. When we informed them that it is unreasonable to require people to order more than they want for lunch, we were told that they're sorry but this is the rule. This along with being charged extra for using a credit card was a true turnoff and will deter me from frequenting this restaurant as often as I had prior to this. read more

Beware!!!!!! if you are allergic to gluten or dairy! This people have zero accountability. I came to this place with friends to have lunch. Usually anywhere you go the first thing waiters are asking is if you have any allergies. I mentioned her i had allergies on gluten and dairy, also I said because of my health condition i have to avoid sugar. Waitress recommended plain grilled chicken with veggies. The service is the worse! She took forever to bring a bottle of water! I repeated myself few times to her just to make sure that they will follow the request. On the side they put 2 sauces. Obviously I started eating the salat with was on the plate together with the chicken the taste was weird. This was my first time ever being at this place and eating that type of "vegetables". I tried sauces and one was nothing but pure sugar. When I asked another waiter who was passing by he said it was taboule which has gluten and one of the sauces had sugar. When i went to the manager Artur as he presented himself and explained the situation he offered me to remove the chicken without any care. The same waitress started smiling at me while i was saying that they are endangering peoples health. In the meantime the same waitress goes and argues saying that apparently it is my fault ans my responsibility to check my own food! Are you serious???? After the first round of drinks the server (Tatiana) came and told us that we have to order food otherwise we couldn't sit there! We walked a mile from our hotel at the recommendation of our beach chair attendant. He said to go between noon and 3 pm for half price happy hour; that the burgers were good. But they are known for their steaks (which are obviously not half price). The dude nailed it! We had a burger with fresh cut fries and artichoke dip & chips. All were half price making the bill a ridiculous $22!!! We did not get drinks and split the huge burger. The appetizer came with salsa and sour cream. The chips were thin, fresh, & delicious. I have really been coming to this place for years.. when Luba and Eddie were the bartenders. But unfortunately the service has deteriorated tremendously. The draw use to be the service and the executive lunch special; but why endure bad service to save a few dollars on a meal. Who takes 30 mins to get a glass of water and another 20 to come back and take your order.. AT THE BAR no less. And don't even think about asking for an accommodation regarding your meal. The worst part is, the server seems bothered by having to serve you. This has bred an overall attitude of indifference within this restaurant, where the staff is always right. And this has been on more than one occasion. But what took the cake was, today while about to walk in, I saw them treat a patron like absolute trash, when all he really did was state his dissatisfaction over the service of the bartender, who was horrible by the way. We split the cowboy steak with scallops, mashed potatoes and vegetables. Cooked to perfection and a great bottle of wine added - Duckhorn Merlot. Strip   I mentioned the glass of wine no more for the fact that the glasses or oversized and catches your eye.  The pour also seems to be a tad bit more generous.  As for the steak, they nailed it.   Cooked perfectly medium with a nice pink center.   The steak had good flavor and was really easy to cut into.    If you are looking for a next level to your steak, try here. PARKING Yes. SERVICE Good.  Came with friends, some which came a little late.   Waiter was there immediately to take their order. PRICE $60 for steak, side, and wine. Excellent Sunny Isles steak spot. Great service and cool vibe. Party of five of us and we all agreed it was worth a return visit in the future. They have live music on Fri and Sat and a nice happy hour to try next time. We shared a house salad and it was delicious. The dressings were yummy. Also the fresh bread and butter. Diet killer. But there are healthy options. Salads and chicken and salmon. Hubby loved his prime rib and said it was one of best he's had. I shared the large filet mignon with daughter and it was perfect. Son had the salad with ahi tuna and grandma had the organic kale salad with roasted chicken. Large portions and enough to take home for lunch tomorrow. I'm visiting Sunny Isles FL. Cut 38 restaurant was right across the street from my hotel. I came to the patio and sit down at the table. I observed two elderly couple sitting in the corner being greeted with a curt attitude and a lack of basic courtesy by the restaurant employee. The inside of the restaurant has a more up scale feel and the menu prices do correlate, so the Lobster Fest is a seriously good deal. Manuela was a server and she was super sweet and attentive. The lobster also came with a choice of side. I got the steamed veggies, broccoli and carrots. The serving was plentiful and delicious. The lobster itself was delicious, the only improvement would be the melted butter. It didn't really have that good butter taste. I would definitely return and order this meal again! Reposting from my Google Review for visibility: Staying in Sunny Isles and thinking of stopping in Cut38 for a drink or bite to eat? Please save your time, dignity, and money and go literally anywhere else (Baires and Timo are great options if you are looking for awesome food, drinks, and excellent service). It seems most of the recent reviews hit on the main issue here: management. We were on a long term stay in Sunny Isles and Cut38 was an easy/walkable option for a quick weekday drink and dinner. We visited a handful of times during off hours usually around 5pm and received solid service from AC and Jose who work the bar - big thank you to both of them for treating their customers like actual human beings. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end - we had noticed a few times while at the bar that all of the managers (one blonde and one new manager a brunette named Joanna) were severely lacking customer services skills in their interactions with other customers. However, since we never had the displeasure of dealing with them directly, we never let it bother us. All that changed when myself and two friends came in around 8:30pm after having dinner on a Thursday night over at Time and we were just looking to stop in for a final drink and dessert. When we arrived, it was busy but since we weren't looking for a meal we just headed straight to the bar as we typically had done every time we visited in the past. As soon as we went to sit down, we were informed by one bartender that due to COVID seating rules he would need to ask the couple next to us to move down a seat to ensure for proper social distancing. He asked us to wait one moment while he did so, and then we would be able to sit. This was no problem at all, as we are from Boston and we completely understand needing to stick to COVID protocol so we had no problem waiting a moment. As we were waiting, out of nowhere, the brunette manager Joanna appeared behind us and began assaulting our party saying that she "was the manager" and that we "weren't allowed to be seated". As you can imagine, we were quite confused and taken back by her overtly aggressive tone and body language. She then escorted us out of the restaurant where she flagged down security (mind you we are 3 females who were in no way acting in a threatening manner) and then proceeded to interrogate us as to why we were trying to sit down at the bar. At this point, we were totally confused and despite our attempt to try and calmly explain to her our viewpoint, she continued to talk down to us for over 20 minutes. To top it off, the owner then proceeded to come outside and told us that "the conversation was over" and barked at Joanna to "get back inside and do her job". We were left feeling totally clueless and disrespected, and at that point we called it a night and headed home. I can't stress enough to everyone reading this: please do not come spend your money here. There are better places in Sunny Isles that don't have managers and owners who shame and embarrass their customers in order to satisfy their own egos. read more

My family and I decided to give this place a shot. This particular area in Sunny Isles is bumping on a Saturday night therefore everywhere you go for dinner is going to be a long wait. We originally added ourselves to the waiting list across the way at Baires Argentinian (btw they are to die for) but the wait was 1.5 hours at 9:30pm. We opted to give Cut 38 a shot, there was no wait. Server was kind she was not the problem. The problem was the food! A prime rib ordered medium well came out RARE, and while I had no choice but to ask them to please take it back they hesitated. Flavor was un exciting and mash potatoes were nothing to cry home about. Either way I'm glad I finally gave these guys a shot but it's certain I'll never be back. He kept saying we were a big group and we clearly asked if it would help if we came separately? We even said we didn't mind being seated at different tables.. there were empty and tables/chairs when we were there. Reading the other reviews, looks like they get a kick from treating customers rudely and to their sick pleasure. When we got there, they told us they only allow children over 13 years old and when we asked why they didn't mention it or where did it say that, they just rudely said "it's just our policy". For an upscale restaurant with very good and tasty food, it's a shame how you have disappointed me. The four of us had two choices of seats: outside in 91 degrees or inside with loud booming music preventing normal conversation. I asked the waiter to lower the sound or change the music to some melodious normal tunes. His response was that there is only an on/off switch; no volume control and no choice of music. After a non-conversational meal, we asked for a dessert menu and were told that even though we had been seated at 1:55pm we overstayed the 3:00 pm lunch menu. So, our meal will be charged at the lunch rate, but the dessert at the dinner rate. Loud booming music and mid meal price change soured me on this restaurant. And, I live around the corner. 5 stars for sure and here's why! I like to always grade restaurants by the staff, the feel one gets when walking in, the food presentation, how the food tastes, and the entertainment. This place did it all. Check check and check. We walked from our hotel so we didn't have to worry about parking. But we walked in and were instantly greeted and were seated where we wanted, we chose the patio. It was a bit breezy so they had the temporary walls down. But the place was darker, led candles on the tables, great ambience. Our waiter was Carlos, the guy is great, super intelligent and talked us through the menu and the specials offered. There was live music, a duo. And the singer, she had the voice of an angel. Seriously she was absolutely great... ugh! We ordered the Hummus for an appetizer, prime rib (medium rare), loaded baked potato, jumbo prawns, seasonal veggies, and Lava Cake for dessert. Everything was just absolutely great, I have one minor complaint, they seasoned the heck out of the FRESH pita chips, the chips were so good I don't think they needed seasoning, they were warm and soft.
