This was my first time at cut loose and I love my hair cut. Natalie gave me a trim; usually I'm scared to get my hair cut because it's so long and she did a great job. I even got side-swept bangs.. And I was so scared that she would cut a huge chunk from my hair but she did exactly what I wanted.. I have a lot of hair but she was patient with my hair and did a great job. I went back on Friday to get my roots retouched and my hair done lighter because I wanted to have more of a copper tone. I made an appointment with Natalie but she wasn't able to make it today. The owner was there and was very sorry about it and told me to come back two hours after my appointment and I would get a discount if another girl helped me... So I came back later that day... To be honest I am not a person that assumes people are bad since I'm a polite and patient person but today has to be worst experience I've ever had... The lady that treated my hair Vana completely ruined my hair... When Natalie dyed my hair it was virgin so this was the second time dying my hair... Vana did highlights all over my hair and left the bleach on for what felt like an hour.. She left the foils while she dyed the rest of my hair... Then she washed it together... I didn't assume anything because I just thought I mean she's a hairstylist she probably knows was she's doing... After she washed it my hair was so tangled.. And I know my hair gets tangled but I have (or at least had) very thick hair and it doesn't take long to untangle.. But she kept pulling and snagging it...she kept breaking my hair... I didn't realize at the time she had ruined my hair and that's why it kept getting tangled.. I don't know why I left so bad at the time since I have a ton of hair but it doesn't mean I should get treated the way I did... I don't know if she just gave up but she was just straight up pulling my hair... Then she started to apply the copper tone in my hair and she got it on my roots and ran out.. One of the hair stylist asked if she needed more but she didn't reply... She literally started to use the hair dye she had already applied in my hair to spread it to the rest of my hair... I don't understand why she didn't just mix a new color... Anyway... When she started to spread the color in my hair... Omg... She was pulling the shit out of my hair... And she left it on for like 20 minutes and then she was checking it to see if it was done.. And I could tell that the color probably didn't pull through in the back because she kept trying to rub but at this point I just wanted to get the fuck out of there so I just let her wash it... And omg.. When she started washing my hair she was scrubbing my scalp with her fucking nails... I'm still in so much pain.. I was scared to say anything cause it felt like this lady just had it out for me.. And then.. Ugh I can't even bare to write this... For the life of me I wanted to get the fuck out of there but she starts blow drying my hair.. To see if the color pulled through and she literally blow dried my hair semi okay from the front and the rest of the hair was shit... She fucked up my hair and she fucking knew it and there was no blow out to fix it... When I could finally see the color completely dry..... My hair was reddish from my roots and brown/ gold from the bottom... It wasn't even close to what I wanted... And then on top of that they didn't even want to honor my discount.. They wanted to charge me full price!! $185 for a shit job... I've never been so upset.. I couldn't believe people even have the decency.. I am inexperienced when it comes to hair salons, because my mother is a hairstylist and used to cut my hair up until college. I have a short and fairly simple hairstyle. Just rounded and a little longer on the top than the sides. I wanted 1 inch to 1.5 inches off. So, the hair stylist went to work, beginning with the top and ending at the top. She barely touched the sides of my head. For the love of... I looked like Krusty the clown! Then without saying a word she took the bib off of me, brushed my neck and face, and asked me to pay. That is utterly unacceptable. I asked her politely to make my hair more rounded, and I pointed out with my finger precisely what spots to cut. Even then, she resorted to cut more off the top than the sides. She informed me that my hair was hard to cut due to the gel. However, she never suggested to shampoo my hair. Anyway after another half our of her cutting talking back my hair was adequate enough. Horrible service. There are plenty of hair salons here in the valley that will do a better job for the same price. Don't risk it here. read more

I was in desperate need to getting my eyebrows done and I usually go to the Nail Salon & Spa in Northridge. I sometimes hated going there because the service is subpar and half the time the person handling the eyebrow waxing doesn't make them as even as I liked. So on my way home, I chose to stop at Cut Loose. I was curious about eyebrow threading since I never had it done before and was nervous that it would be painful. However, all my fears were put to rest when Nansy demonstrated the technique in less than 10 minutes. No tweezing, no waxy residue, and most of all, no uneven eyebrows! Loved it! I went in last Friday to get an all over color by Shannon. I prepared for the worst and hoped for the best. What I wasn't ready for was to be near tears when she finished and revealed my favorite hair color to date!! Some Info 1. I am a WOC (in my palest form) 2. I wanted natural-looking but vibrant red hair 3. I've been dying my hair regularly for 13 years, without properly caring for it. After the consultation (mostly me trying to describe what I wanted and Shannon trying to make sense of my garbly-goop), Shannon mixed the perfect color to match my skin, and she took such care to not damage a single fragile hair on my head throughout the whole process. At one point, we were a little pressed for time and I thought she might be stressed because she became super focused (not because I was feeling it from here as one sometimes does) BUT despite this she at no point started rushing or let the quality of her work slip up. I was super impressed with her overall skill and professional demeanor. She definitely has a new customer for life. Liliana gave me a deep conditioning treatment today, and blow dried my hair. My hair is suffering from a case of "hair stylist with an attitude" as seen by my last review. I woke up this morning and was debating shaving my head, the hair cut from the last place was that bad. Yes, I am one of those people who brings in a photo of a stunning girl with an equally stunning look that I want recreated. I know how tricky that can be for some hair stylists, but I knew exactly what I wanted and Olivia delivered 100%. I am very picky, very direct, know what I want,and what I don't want! Olivia took the time to talk to me, and most importantly LISTEN to me. I have found many times stylists can brush off your comments and continue with what they want to do anyway, Olivia was the total opposite and worked with me to make sure I was happy EVERY step of the way. I had my eyebrows threaded and dyed, plus an extensive cut and color. It is important for me to have a natural look, especially with my brows, and Olivia outdid herself. I have paid a lot of money previously for waxing and it was usually a painful and slap dash experience, this was the opposite. Olivia obviously takes a huge amount of pride and precision in what she does and explained everything she was doing, and why she was doing it-with AMAZING results! I have never been happier with my brows, they are neat and have a fantastic natural shape!! Olivia was aware of what shape would look most flattering on me and encompassed everything I asked for with brilliant results. The training and knowledge Olivia has is very evident, as she speaks so confidently and eloquently about her techniques and the reasons why things are being done certain ways. All throughout my cut and color Olivia was a perfectionist and cared as much as I did about everything turning out correctly and how I wanted it to be. Olivia is a stylist that cares, she is not one to give you a look just because you want it if she knows it won't end up suiting you; she will professionally explain what looks good and why, and make sure you are 100% happy every step of the way. The time Olivia took on my hair to achieve exactly the look we wanted was done with patience, care, great knowledge and professionalism. I really can't rave enough about how happy I am with the end results. The color is so natural I don't know how she did it! When you go to dye your hair somewhere unknown no matter the reviews you're always a bit hesitant but I was in good hands . She was able to get me from a teal with splotchy black and green spots to a beautiful cobalt blue ! It was a 5 hour process and I do have a lot of breakage but what did I expect ! We left work early, very excited, and when we walked in...they said we had no appointment.
