Genuinely so good. The turkey 1000. You won't regret it. The perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and textures going on. Big fan of the bread and the portion of turkey too. Not too much, not too little. This place is poppin!! Looks like a lot of people know to order ahead of time and drop in to pick up their order. 3.5 Stars. Nice, modern sandwich shop. The Beef 1000 looked small at first glance, but actually contained a good amount of meat and was filling. The fried shallots added a nice textural component. Though I feel it would have been significantly better hot (with the cheese melted and the buns toasted). I don't know why everyone goes crazy over this place. The sandwiches are ok, sure, but I feel like they really don't want customers--no seating (the dining table area is holding all their junk), they NEVER update the menu except to REMOVE things, they were over the top no contact during and well after covid, they are barely open.... Just, why? I've never had a bad experience there, I just feel like they are reluctant restauranteurs who want NO contact with their customers. Like they would prefer a return to pushing bags of food through a small hole to people who ordered online. That's ok though because Mahaniyom is just around the corner and they want customers. read more

Window service only but you can order online and service is quick. Tried out the Ham Dijon sandwich. I was expecting it to be a lot bigger based on the photo on the online menu. The ham was prosciutto rather than a deli ham, and there could have been a lot more of it. However, the flavors of the pickles/butter/dijon was very well balanced. I would try other sandwiches, but wouldn't get this one again. read more

Biting into a roast beef 1000 is the definition of a slice of heaven. Soft pillowy bun, piles of flavorful fatty sliced beef, and a zesty thousand island sauce that is a party in your mouth. What more could you want in a sandwich? This online order only, walk up window operation that operates only a few days a week during lunch hours can be a bit annoying but maybe the scarcity is what makes it even more special when you do happen to get a sandwich on a blue moon. read more

Cutty's is a sandwich shop in Brookline Village. Their menu is minimal and to the point. They make only a handful of artisanal sandwiches and a couple of soups. They sell pickles and various spreads too. Theirs only one thing to get for me. It's the Beef 1000. It's slow-roasted beef, crispy shallots, 1000 island dressing + sharp cheddar on Iggy's black pepper brioche bun. My goodness it's good. Tender, sliced so thin yould read through them. I am so in love with Cutty's. I had this twice during my stay in Brookline and if I had more time, I would have it again. I sampled the following: -Pork Rabe -Tomato Soup -Honey Mustard Fried Chicken Sandwich (+ Spicy Goo for $1.50) -Tandem Coffee All items were delicious and well-priced for portion size and taste. You can taste the quality of ingredients and the food comes out quickly with a friendly smile, which is a plus! What makes these sandwiches great is the ratio of ingredients to a perfectly toasted bun. I really fell in love with the Chicken Sandwich they offer on their Super Cluckin' Sunday once a month. The crispiness and meatiness of the chicken sandwich was perfect against the sauce and lettuce. The spicy goo wasn't too spicy-- there was a pleasant amount of heat. It was well-worth the wait. Amazing sandwiches located on Washington St. Perfect, small, hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop. I ordered the TJ Rabe with ham and it was delectable. Pick-up is super easy since they have a pick-up counter as their door. These sandwiches are packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the blend of cheese (provolone & fresh mozzarella) that mixed in well with the broccoli rabe. The tomato jam was a great compliment spread to the sandwich and I wouldn't have ever thought of it. Of course, the panini-style press makes any sandwich so much better with the crispy toastiness. Went here for the Super Cluckin Sunday which occurs once a month. The line wasn't too bad and it took about half an hour before I was able to order and got the sandwich soon after. It is priced about $13. The fried chicken was great and definitely worth the wait and price! This is probably the best fried chicken around Boston and it is worth the hype. read more

This place doesn't look like much when you walk by. There's no seating, and you just see a counter by the sidewalk to place orders. However, it's usually hard to miss, especially considering the line of people outside waiting to place orders or pickup their food. The menu is simple and small, but satisfying. The sandwiches are simply amazing!! All the ingredients feel very fresh. I had the Roast Beef 1000 and it was awesome. The meat was thinly sliced, fresh and very soft. Each bite has a satisfying blast of flavor from the dressing. I added some extra pickles which perfectly paired with the flavor. The rest of the group had the Greens Shallot and the Turkey 1000, and they had similar feedback. The one word we kept repeating was "fresh". We'll definitely be back at Cutty's next time we're in the neighborhood. read more

Take-out only, so order ahead online. We got the Greens Shallot with turkey and the Rabe T.J. with turkey. Both were improved with the addition of turkey, but the Rabe T.J. I think would have been a great sandwich without it. The Greens Shallot, though, was a similar texture throughout with a lot of swiss chard (which adds a lot of moisture), so the turkey (or some protein) felt necessary. So after hearing good things about cuttys I decided to check out for lunch. I went in, got their 1000 island beef special which looked like their best meat option. I asked for hot sauce on it and they said hot sauce you have to buy the hot pickles for 1.50...you can't just add any sauces. After waiting for a bunch I got the sandwich. Portion it was ok....I think I was still hungry afterwards. The sandwich itself was ok as well, seemed like any standard roast beef sandwich but this one was $12... overall it wasn't bad but not worth the price imo. read more

Wow. I've never left a review. I just ate the beef sandwich. Straight up that was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. So good. Perfect size. Very neat. Nothing spilled out of the sandwich. Not a single drip or crumb. The beef was soft, not chewy at all. Generous portion of meat. The crispy onions or whatever. Fire. Thousand island is my favorite. I added the pickled hots and it was the perfect amount of heat. The bread was soft but wasn't soggy at all. I wasn't given any napkins but I didn't need one. Whole thing just went down so easy. Holyyy. Right down to the last bite I was happy and it is lingering. The place is take out only so I sat by a little pond and ate the sandwich on a beautiful fall day. Best sandwich experience ever. After hearing about this place in Boston Magazine, I had to try their roast beef sandwich, Beef 1000. During the pandemic, you can only order the sandwiches online or via the Toast app. The shop definitely followed good social distancing guidelines since they didn't allow anyone inside and they just handed you your order via an open window in the front door. The Beef 1000 sandwich consisted of roast beef, crispy shallots, sharp cheddar cheese, and thousand island dressing on a brioche bun. I literally digged into the sandwich within 2 minutes after I picked it up. However, my first impression was that the meat in the sandwich was cold. Is it supposed to be like that? Don't get me wrong.. the sandwich was very delicious but I was expecting the roast beef be at least warm similar to Kelly's . It is a small sandwich for $12 but the tastiness wins over the price. Drove out to this small mom and pop roast beef sandwich place. Lady was nice but abrupt and looked tired. Hopefully they don't stay short staffed for long. Had to order at their front door. Had the once month BBQ chicken sandwich today. A big portion of Crunchy and very juicy chicken. The sauce was very flavorful and the roll it was on was high quality as well. After years of living in the area, i finally was able to have the famous roast beef sandwich. Ingredients are of great quality, and the sandwich is very well put together, i had mine no 1k island dressing, and all flavours were well balanced and shone through. All in all a good option, heaed the fried chicken is awesome but cant tell. read more

It's a pretty great sandwich, actually. I like the Boss, but there are many great options. There are just two things to keep in mind: 1) it's relatively expensive (though doable) 2) the sandwiches are quite rich and salty, often relying on a flavorful cream element (truffle cream, pistachio cream, etc.) As a result, I probably wouldn't go every day or even every week. But a once-a-month cadence or so would be great. Try it!

Although their Kuromi Bun had a nice (not too sweet) custard filling, the bread itself was a tad too dry. We also got their Shio Butter Bread which was the better choice. We happened to get a freshly baked one which was fluffy and melt in your mouth delicious! Also, it must be said that their service is A+. Their staff are truly such kind folks - always smiling and making friendly conversation with their customers. Turns out they were testing a new dough for the Shio Bread so they even gave us one on the house to try. The kind gesture was very sweet and much appreciated!

By the bar you're seated either directly at the bar or at hightop tables in an area with bright lights and there's tv's on playing sports (basically picture your classic bar scene), but then they also have normal low-top seating near the bar (which is more like your regular restaurant experience), as well as a whole section that is dimly lit and has a date night vibe to it. Pretty cool how they can pull off the different vibes within the one space and it all works.

I always get pretty much the same- garlic oil, fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil. It's a great sandwich- although once in a while their basil is not fresh. You can choose to get it grilled or not. The wait is usually 5-10 minutes, but at least the ordering system (pen and paper) means that I've never had an error with my sandwich. More fast moving places should do this I think. Anyway, you can choose all sorts of things here really- there are lots and lots of options, which is what we all want in our over personalized, individualistic society, right? :)

The shakshuka croissant is made Turkish style and that's why the eggs are almost mashed into the curry. We also tried the meet point latte which has sahlep tea and sprinkled with rose leaves. It was good but I couldn't taste anything much different than a plain latte. The cold milky baklava was a pleasant surprise. Soaked through, it is a moist tasty delight! The only reason it's not 5 stars is because a lot of the coffee syrups and also some desserts like cakes are not made in house, which was a tad disappointing. The owners are very friendly and kind. It was the parent cafe's (Dolma) birthday and they offered everyone a piece of celebratory baklava. They're a newer cafe and I wish them the best and that they are successful!
