I wish I had thought to take a picture of their menu because I forget exactly how much things were for dining in but I remember thinking the prices are even a little cheaper than some fast casual chains. I got the seared ahi tuna bowl and it was decent sized portion of ahi tuna, nicely seared, and all the veggies tasted really fresh. My friend got the BBQ chicken salad and also really enjoyed it. I was working in San Diego for a couple of days, and on my second day there, I wanted to get lunch nearby. As I was scrolling through Google Maps to find a suitable lunch spot, I spotted this Urbane Cafe on the southwest corner of Mira Mesa and Camino Santa Fe. I started going to Urbane Cafe when they opened a location early last year close to where I live, and I've tried making a habit of visiting different cafes to see how they compare to one another, offering my support in good ways and, sadly enough, bad. I had more than enough points on my rewards account largely in part due to a catering order from last year, and after a few more orders, I had enough points for a free sandwich, salad, or bowl. My usual go-to at any Urbane Cafe, especially on my first visit to a new location (to me, at least), is a Salmon Bowl, which happens to be their most expensive entree on their menu. However, they had a special for the Garlic Sesame Steak Bowl for the same price as the Salmon Bowl. Having tried the Salmon Bowl several times this past year, most recently at Long Beach Bixby, I welcomed the change and was intent on ordering the Garlic Sesame Steak Bowl. Well, I tried to do it on the app, but for some reason, it wasn't letting me use my points for the special bowl even though the word "bowl" was present in "free sandwich, salad, or bowl". I then swapped out the special bowl for the Salmon Bowl, but again, the ordering platform run by Thanx wasn't letting me use my points for even my go-to! I almost thought about going somewhere else for lunch, but decided maybe I should try going there to see if the reward could be redeemed in person. As soon as I entered, I was facing the order counter, but nobody was behind it. I did hear Sienna say she'd be right with me as she was handling the orders by the pickup shelves. She came over and asked if I was picking up an order, which I would have been if the app were functioning properly. With the Garlic Sesame Steak Bowl being advertised vividly in front of the register, I asked Sienna if I could redeem my points for that bowl. Sure enough, it did, but why it wouldn't work in the app completely befuddled me as it was the first time I've ever experienced such a discrepancy at ordering the same item online vs in person. I ordered for here, and Sienna gave me a numbered stand. I also got a water cup to supplement my meal. The drink dispenser is located at the rear of the cafe. However, they only had lids, but no cups for the sriracha and cholula sauces! Wait, didn't this happen before? Oh yes, at the Oceanside location when I visited late last year! So it seems a lack of cups for their hot sauces isn't uncommon at Urbane then. As a result, I chose to sit at the community table closest to the rear counter so I wouldn't have to walk far to retrieve a sauce bottle. No joke, my order was ready within 5 minutes as Sienna simply turned around and handed me my Garlic Sesame Steak Bowl alongside a fork and a few napkins. Usually when I get my order this quickly, I get a little skeptical about the flavor in the bowl. Luckily, there was still a good amount of sesame flavor in the bowl, but I still had to go up not once, but twice to retrieve a bottle of sriracha sauce to add to the bowl. And the sauce was pretty liquid-y that I probably should have chosen the cholula instead. I feel I could have enjoyed the bowl more had I waited a minute or two longer, but I was satisfied with the bowl nonetheless as the steak tasted fresh off the grill; the veggies and rice tasted fresh too. They could have added more Japanese chili dressing though. As for the focaccia bread that supplemented my bowl? Well, there's room for improvement. Out of the 6 Urbane Cafes I've now been to so far, I'm sad to say this was the second worst bread I've had. The flavor was at a bare minimum, and I even chomped on something pretty hard in the bread, though since I was scooping up some of the leftover sauce from my bowl, I'm willing to say the culprit came from the Garlic Sesame Steak. Since I ordered for here, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to take the empty bowl to the waste bin, so I asked Precious, and she simply took it for me. Didn't actually answer my question, so next time I dine in, I'll have to ask again lol. Precious did seem precious from my little interaction with her. Service was good overall, but kind of slow since they seemed short on staff. Neither Sienna nor Precious checked up on any other customers who had ordered, but I do know they were handling customers' orders both at the front counter and by the pickup shelves. There were a lot of pickup orders, so it'd be understandable, though there was some down time that they'd just chat with each other as well as another employee on the other side of the counter. Overall, I was satisfied enough with my lunch that I'm willing to give 4 stars, but the little things like the lack of sauce cups and even the app glitching can be bothersome... read more

This was my first time in, and not only was the food fabulous, BUT it was the service that I want to rave about ! Sometimes it is hard to find both good food and good service but I found it here. I had had a very very long day. I arrived just a little after 3pm on a Wednesday, and was immediately greeted with a smile and a friendly person. This is my go to spot when I am craving a nutritious healthy meal! I have done direct take out orders, dine ins, Grub hub deliveries, and in store online pickups. My favorite item for both myself and my wife is the Salmon Bowl which comes with a delicious salmon, edamame, kale, quinoa, sweet potatoes, and a savory sauce over everything. The ingredients are always so fresh and clean, I hit my macros and get plenty of fiber and I always finish my meal feeling refreshed and energized. I highly recommend this cafe urbane location! You Guys....This place is sooooooo good. It was a Friday during lent and I was looking around for a place that had a good fish dish. So I waved my phone with a big Swish Swish. Then Urbane Cafe appeared with Fish Dish that I swished and wished. I got the bowl and sandwich. This fish was cooked so well and the ingredients of the bowl worked together perfectly. There was rice, greens, and a few extras. My fish was topped off with tartar sauce and I could have inhaled the whole thing. The sandwich was similar except it was on Ciabatta bread, or similar. My daughter ate all of that and she is as picky as they come. It was her birthday and the cashier was so sweet to her. It's been a hit or miss with this location but today's four bowls were just awesome . My sister and I both used the BOGO valentines special deal and ordered same Ahi bowls (no rice or radishes ). The sub kale was great today as was the sushi sauce . Her tuna pieces were a bit more chunky and cut up but still tasted great. Plus she didn't mind as the extra kale made up for it. I think I'm up to 3500 reward points so that shows how embarrassingly often we eat at Urbane . Their app works pretty well but the customer service from their website still hasn't rectified a previous issue so oh well). And their chocolate chip cookies - no joke - are soooo good . Aloha all! I discovered this restaurant while running some errands. I noticed a lot of customers sitting at the outdoor tables and having lunch so I decided to stop in and try it out. People from the nearby gym and businesses seem to frequent this spot for a bite to eat so that was a good sign. Urbane Cafe offers crafted sandwiches, soups and salads and more. Everything is made fresh including the focaccia bread they use for the sandwiches. Walking up to the counter I was immediately welcomed by a gentleman at the counter and was told to take my time looking over the menu and when I was ready, he would be happy to take my order. The indoor dining room was clean and had a very relaxed atmosphere. I decided to order a turkey sandwich with brie cheese and cranberry relish. It was a delicious combination of ingredients. Every bite was pleasing to the palate and the salad with light dressing incuded was a nice addition. When my order was ready, my food was brought to my table by the gentleman who originally took my order. I didn't get his name unfortunately, but this guy was working hard doing multiple tasks with a smile. He was providing outstanding customer service and I hope they somehow give him recognition for all that he does. It was the food and his service that earned them a five star rating. I will definitely be back to try more of the food options on the menu. This was one time I was glad to have taken the time to stop in and try a new restaurant. Normally when I go to Urbane I pick up one of their sandwiches, but this go around I decided I wanted to switch it up. I ended up getting the salmon bowl, I've been on a health kick lately and thought this would be the perfect little lunch. The food is what brings you in but the service here is what keeps you, everyone is so fast and friendly. My salmon was perfect, the portion size was great, I could have split this into two meals if I wanted to. The salmon was so flavorful and had good texture, it paired perfectly with their sweet potato which paired perfectly with the kale and rice. To be honest, I was a little weary when I saw the edamame, but it added a nice little bite when put all together. Definitely gonna coke back and get another salmon bowl! read more

It's a good place if you want something healthy and quick. I've came here twice so far and been getting their bowls (like Ahi Poke and Salmon) and they've all been pretty good and taste pretty healthy. I'd say the salmon was a bit on the sweet side for me but it still was pretty good. The inside is pretty spacious and it's never crowded when I visited. It is my favorite part of every meal here. There are many good sandwich and salad options. My goal in life is to try every single thing off this menu at least once. You can also substitute tofu in for any of the meat sandwiches. I tried the cranberry brie sandwich with tofu and it was different but a surprisingly good different! I recommend trying it. You can see them doing it as soon as you enter and it's a very good sign of a sandwich place. All the ingredients went well together and it did not feel like the cheese was missing at all. Really like how much chicken there was and everything was fresh and tasty. Pastrami Tri Tip (pastrami tri tip, NO CHEESE, remoulade aioli, housemade apple coleslaw, bread and butter pickles) THIS WAS OUR FAVORITE SANDWICH! That pastrami with everything else going on was amazing. The remoulade aioli on its own was superb as well. Excellent food, friendly staff, and fabulous casual ambiance! The music is great, there is plenty of seating, and the outdoor patio is big too. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Brian (who was so nice and helpful). We ordered the ahi salad, pastrami sandwich, a drink (the cucumber chili limeade is incredible) and two cookies.
