1st time stopping through while I was in NC and the food was just what I needed to fix the hunger pang. Small venue, but a really good menu of treats. Fantastic food! The first time I went I got the shrimp and grits, they were wonderful, and came in a huge portion. I was easily able to make two meals out of it for myself, and it was very reasonably priced for the portion. The lobster mac is necessary. I've never had any complaints about the lobster/mac ratio personally. For me, it's about the spices that they use in the mac, they're out of this world. On my second visit I got cajun dry-rub wings and those were fantastic as well. A coworker of mine got them on a previous occasion and said, "I would fight someone who tried to take these wings from me." Also, they were running a special on the day I went for the second time. The reviews are great, I must have went on a bad day for the chef. Mother, sister and myself went to dinner this evening at Cuzzos, My month was watering for the lobster mac n cheese ( where was the lobster, they must have ran out). I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but i couldn't because of the sugar overload in the yams and sweet tea. My sister said she had to go home and take another diabetic pill from all the sugar. I heard of chicken fried hard, but damn. When a bad batch of chicken is fried, it should be thrown away not served to customers. My mother had to wait 15 mins. for her chicken because they ran out. When the waiter finally brought it, he brought her one chicken leg in a napkin. WOW! We were told desert was included, but they ran out of desert. My husband and I went to Cuzzo's Cuisine for the first time after he heard from a co-worker how good the lobster mac and cheese was. Well, we tried it and were not impressed. I have had lobster mac and cheese before that was excellent and contained chunks of lobster meat throughout the dish. Our lobster mac and cheese was seasoned well, but there was not one piece of lobster in the dish. We were disappointed because that dish was the main reason for going there. Perhaps we just did not get a good batch, and others may have had lobster meat in their dish. Overall great food and environment! 5 furloughed federal coworkers and I ate there today; as they are providing "free' lunch to furloughed federal workers. There is a "special limited" menu for federal employees, with a generous selection of quality food to choose from. We all ordered wings and fries. The wings were fried well and the fries were seasoned well. The environment is cozy, with excellent music playing in the background. I spoke with management regarding honoring the coupon and informed they would not do so...needless to say I walked out and will not patronize this establishment in the future. This place is a joke! We literally placed our order and waited outside for over an hour after being told the wait would be 45 minutes. When we inquired about the order the first time, we were told it was coming up soon. After another 10 minutes we requested our money back and one of the young ladies said she would check to see where our order was in the queue. She comes back after another 10 minutes to say our order and a few orders after ours did not get in the rotation because the receipt paper went out when our order was placed ...but we received a receipt! We sat in our car as requested after placing the order and watched them bring out several orders for rounds of cars that were there before us, at the same time as us, and after us and THAT was the excuse they gave for us not receiving our food in a timely fashion? Then to add insult to injury with us wasting an hour and a half of our day and not receive the order, she refunds our money and offers 20% off the next time we come. This was our first time ever trying this place and first impression is lasting! It's really sad that our people still can't get it together in business but we're the first to say we don't support our own.....this is a prime example why! Worst part of this experience is we never received food after all of this and they blocked me on social media because they received a poor review. ‍ I guess everyone cannot accept constructive criticism! read more

I try to support Black-owned businesses. This one I raved about after seeing an invite for their restaurant site grand opening on Facebook about 3 months ago. Even took a picture w/ the owner and urged my family members to go...which they did and we made it a monthly, even bimonthly (at times) family meal outing. So, when I saw that they "were" a participating restaurant on Restaurant.com and that the site had a deal going on for cyber Monday, I jumped to it...again, even reached out to family members to purchase certificates...which my sister did as well! I called to make sure they would honor my deal, but they have no recollection of it. Even spoke to Curtis who spoke w/ one of the managers who stated they would honor my certificate. However when I got to the restaurant, claimed 1 of 4 of my certificates, all of a sudden the best they could give me is 25% off. I clearly stated over the phone what the deal was (purchase $50 of food and get $25 off). He said NOTHING about 25% off over the phone...his direct words were "yes we will honor it". I proceed to drive to the restaurant to show them what I was referring to...mind you again, I claimed my certificate. The hostess w/ curly natural hair, glasses who was wearing a striped top took my order, but I asked her not to place it until the owner spoke w/ a representative from Restaurant.com asking when/why/how were they apart of their organization without having consented. As I waited other staff members made their way to the front as one of them (a light skinned/white lady in a white chef coat and black hat w/her hair in a back bun) kept glancing my way. It was obvious that they were discussing my situation as the girl who took my order, the one w/ the curly natural hair w/ glasses and a striped shirt made the remarks to her coworkers "it was just $2). After speaking w/ the manager, I made it clear to the hostess (in front of management) that "if you're going to talk about your customers, the better thing to do would be to do it away from them or after they leave, but while they're there is so unprofessional." My demeanor was perfectly fine and even if the Restaurant.com situation couldn't have been resolved, I still would have placed an order because I USED to love their service & business. The food is amazing, but customer service & the discretion/interaction you have with your customer supercedes if they'll return. This customer will not! Check your first point of contacts! read more

This is my one of my favorite black businesses in Charlotte. The vibes when you walk in are homey and positive. The cashiers are knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful. The portions are nice sizes and the food come out in a timely manner. I like the shrimp & lobster Mac combo with the cactus pear drink. When I first walked in I was greeted individually by this nice lady at the front .. she had such a welcoming spirit. Neo-soul and Jazz music played in the back ground.. (my type of music). A quiet atmosphere. I started to browse the menu and the same lady that greeted me helped me order. She explained the menu and educated me on what I should get since I was a first timer. I chose the shrimp and fish with lobster mac. Also ordered the kumelon drink. She also explained the point system to me for every dollar I spend I get a point .. the points add up and you can get 10% off . Good to know because I plan on coming back. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are good. Next time I will not be coming alone . Definitely will be bringing a crowd of people next time around .
