We ordered the Sol Sunrise and the Berry Delish - Both were not only good but strong as well. Our waitress was polite and offered some good recommendations on what to get. We ended up getting the Salmon and Waffles w/ "Homestyle Fries" (roasted potatoes). The Salmon was perfectly seasoned with a nice crunch to it. The waffle was fine - Didn't look or taste like a fresh waffle but again it was fine. Those potatoes??? 10/10 - I could've just gotten those and would've been content since I'm an avid potato lover! Walked into Sol'Delish with some friends on a Thursday night around 6:20. We were in the University City area for a conference and walked over to this shopping center from our hotel. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. What made it worse, the couple seated next to us, that arrived later than the 2 of us, got waited on BEFORE US. It took 20 min. for someone to even come over to take our order. Not cool. I typically give places at least two attempts before writing a review especially when they are in my neighborhood. It took two hours to even eat here. One hour wait before sitting and another hour to order and get food. At one point glass scattered and shards flew onto our table. I ordered the Soul Pasta with a side of veggies and asked for extra veggies, but there were hardly any vegetables in the dish, and I never got the extra portion I requested. My partner ordered the crab cake with yams and mac & cheese -- her food came out cold. When we mentioned it, they offered to reheat the mac & cheese and then said they were out of yams. To top it off, when ordering drinks, the bartender asked if we minded cherries because she wanted to reuse the same shaker that had just been used to make an Old Fashioned to make our Lemon Drop. At that point, we just asked for the check and a to-go box for my food. Overall, I'd rate this experience a 1/10. This is for the new location. The person at the door and hostesses were very friendly. We were there for Sunday brunch and it was an hour and a half wait which I expected since the night before was over two hour wait which made us decide to come back. We had a party of 6 and chose to sit at separate tables next to each other on the patio behind the valet parking check in to cut down on the wait. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze. Our waitress was awesome. Although the wait was long she kept checking to make sure we were good. The brunch menu was delicious! If people have to wait, bring out good food and definitely delivered on that. This location hasn't been open long and they are still figuring out the logistics so expect a long wait but you will get good food at least from my experience. The rice was flavorful, and the collards were cooked just right--not too bitter, with great seasoning. My Family members went to the Sol Delish restaurant tonight for the first time. I looked at the online menu and asked My sister to bring Me a ToGo order. I called the restaurant several times to ask questions and place a ToGo order. I could not get an answer. So, I sent the order to My sister to place the order and bring it to Me. I ordered: Baked Garlic Parmesean Wings Meal with Yellow Rice and Candied Yams $17.50(Online Menu Price) I asked for All FLATS and Extra Garlic Parm Cream CornBread Sweet Potato Pound Cake $5.50(Online Menu Price) As they were leaving, My sister advised My bill was $45.00!!!! I questioned WHY and she said I was charged a 20% Gratuity Fee because they were a 10 person group. Even with that, the cost seemed too HIGH. I asked did she get a receipt and she said the server did not give her one. She just did a tap payment. I asked her to cancel the order. She went back inside to return the food. They would not take it back. She asked for a receipt and had to wait for a manager to get one. The receipt showed two teas that were not ordered by Me that cost $8.00 total and the Gratuity was $7.05. So, I was charged $15.00 extra and never stepped foot into the establishment. When My sister questioned WHY I was being charged the Gratuity, she was told because the ToGo order was placed by someone with a Large Party. She was told I should have called it in. I advised I called several times and got NO ANSWER and that is why I asked her to place the order for Me. Now, to get to the food. I ordered the wings based on the picture I saw online with Parm Cream on them. It was the same for the Candied Yams. Both were a disappointment. The chicken had no Garlic Parmesean Cream. I just finished a phenomenal brunch Sol Delish 9211-1 Tyron Street in Charlotte. This was quite refreshing because, it has been challenging to find a great restaurant with good food, good service and a good atmosphere, but I was able to find all three at Sol Delish. Our waitress/bartender was Mickey and she gave impeccable service with a smile! My sis, and I both ordered scrambled eggs with kale and collards, a ribeye steak, a side of grits with cheese, salmon and a flight of mimosas. The eggs were great, the grits were amazing, the fried salmon was seasoned perfectly with a nice crust on it, and the steak was perfectly cooked to order. Now to be totally transparent, there was a wait time to get into this location because it's rather small but "News Flash" the owner Bryce has already put a plan in motion to open up a new location that seats 150 people right near the boardwalk in Charlotte (8927 JM Keynes Dr Charlotte Suite 100). The inside is quite small so there was already a wait but they did have a nice outdoor patio with heaters. The heaters warmed the space nicely as it was February and I didn't get cold.
