Salmon was still moist with a dusting of seasoned crust. The thai chili sauce makes this a fantastic combo. I don't even care if the healthiness was fried away. Ribeye - Seasoned well with excellent grill marks. But the trick is to order it the temp above what you want. For example, I wanted medium well so I ordered medium and received a medium-well to well. Seafood Mac n' cheese - It's cheesy, seasoned, and has both limp crab and shrimp. Worth the upgraded cost! Greens - Too salty for me to eat - but I'm sure they're perfect for someone. Shrimp & Chicken Pasta Solid dish fill with flavor and has plenty of shrimp included. AND the Sweet Potato Poundcake - HANDS DOWN the best! Sooo moist, light, melts in your mouth and it's a cake. Visited Sol Delish on a Saturday for brunch, and just FYI only the brunch menu was available. Service was great from the moment we walked in, we were seated right away, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. The DJ added a nice vibe to the atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were nicely fried, but the grits were just okay and could have used a little more of the Parmesan sauce for extra flavor. My meal came with two sides, but I never received the home fries I ordered. Overall, the service and atmosphere were enjoyable, and I would come back to try their full menu. read more

Walked into Sol'Delish with some friends on a Thursday night around 6:20. We were in the University City area for a conference and walked over to this shopping center from our hotel. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. It was also topped with the garlic parmesan cream sauce. Very tasty. Service was good. Not ton of visits to the table but I don't think we ever wanted for anything. Didn't know this location was here until we stumbled upon it! Very pleased with the aesthetic, the food, the drinks, and the service. We ordered the Sol Sunrise and the Berry Delish - Both were not only good but strong as well. Our waitress was polite and offered some good recommendations on what to get. We ended up getting the Salmon and Waffles w/ "Homestyle Fries" (roasted potatoes). The Salmon was perfectly seasoned with a nice crunch to it. The waffle was fine - Didn't look or taste like a fresh waffle but again it was fine. Those potatoes??? 10/10 - I could've just gotten those and would've been content since I'm an avid potato lover! To give you a heads up.. just know they have two locations. One is the restaurant where you can dine in or sit at the bar. You cannot order take out at the restaurant location. You have to go around the corner to their original location to order take out which is the 9211 North Tyron street location. The food was delicious. No complaints. Met a few friends for Saturday brunch. The line was long when I walked through the door. So I was very excited with anticipation of dining here thinking it must be great. The dining room was okay. Some tables were way too close together and the staff had to bump you or you had to move your chair for others to get out of their seating. I ordered the grits and salmon. Decided to give Sol'Delish a second chance because I always hear such great things about the food, and though my initial experience with them was TERRIBLE, I believe in second chances!! I'm delighted that I made the decision to stop in for lunch and give them a try, because the food was worth it. We went to their new location on the boardwalk, and it's much larger than their old location, we opted to sit outside since it was such a beautiful day, and the outdoor seating was such a vibe! I ordered the fried flounder with Mac n cheese, mixed greens, and yams! The fish was seasoned and fried to perfection! Chef's kiss!! You get two sizable fish filets with your order, the sides are kind of small but my meal was very filling! The meal comes with two sides and they upcharge on certain sides. The Mac n cheese was good, the greens were very vinegar forward, and the yams tasted like they had been refrigerated and reheated in the microwave. I typically give places at least two attempts before writing a review especially when they are in my neighborhood. It took two hours to even eat here. One hour wait before sitting and another hour to order and get food. At one point glass scattered and shards flew onto our table. The food came out hot but way after people who were seated after us got their food. We didn't even get drinks until the food came out. The server did apologize and try to explain and the manager did comp us a percentage on the meal. Sadly I knew it was going to be like this when I walked in. Once I was seated I was greeted immediately and sat customer service was so great and the food so bomb. I came on a tuesday and grabbed a seat at the bar. ( They have two!) De'Narius was my bartender and he asked for my name and introduced himself. He provided great conversation and recommendations! I ordered the lamb chops (7/10) greens (10/10) and the mac n cheese (10/10) and 1 chicken wing, i had to try it! (10/10). The land shops had a slight burnt taste to them like maybe the grill could've been cleaned off better before cooking them but they were prepared decently. I also ordered a Don Julio shot chill and a sol'drop which is basically their version of a lemon drop and it has raspberry purée in it. It was tasty. I would give it a six out of 10. The food came out within about 15 to 20 minutes and everything was prepared very well. It's a lot bigger space I hear then their old space so definitely come and try them out. The only positive part of the night was our bartender; she was nice and tried her best despite everything going on. Unfortunately, the food took almost two hours to come out. I ordered the Soul Pasta with a side of veggies and asked for extra veggies, but there were hardly any vegetables in the dish, and I never got the extra portion I requested. My partner ordered the crab cake with yams and mac & cheese -- her food came out cold. When we mentioned it, they offered to reheat the mac & cheese and then said they were out of yams. To top it off, when ordering drinks, the bartender asked if we minded cherries because she wanted to reuse the same shaker that had just been used to make an Old Fashioned to make our Lemon Drop. At that point, we just asked for the check and a to-go box for my food. Overall, I'd rate this experience a 1/10. This is for the new location. The person at the door and hostesses were very friendly. We were there for Sunday brunch and it was an hour and a half wait which I expected since the night before was over two hour wait which made us decide to come back. We had a party of 6 and chose to sit at separate tables next to each other on the patio behind the valet parking check in to cut down on the wait. It was a beautiful day with a nice breeze. Our waitress was awesome. Although the wait was long she kept checking to make sure we were good. The brunch menu was delicious! If people have to wait, bring out good food and definitely delivered on that. This location hasn't been open long and they are still figuring out the logistics so expect a long wait but you will get good food at least from my experience. There's shops and an area to walk and occupy your wait time. If you're in a rush or don't like waiting, get take out or choose a different place. The Food is never an issue! BUT.... As a paying customer and a strong supporter of Black-owned businesses, I was very disappointed by my recent experience at your takeout location. I spent approximately $50 on a meal for myself and my daughter, who was ill at the time and urgently needed to use the restroom. We were denied access despite being customers, leaving us to go door-to-door in the plaza seeking help. I understand that businesses must maintain policies regarding restroom use. However, situations involving children require compassion and flexibility. This experience was stressful, embarrassing, and disheartening. I value supporting local Black-owned establishments and hope policies can be reconsidered so customers especially families are treated with understanding in urgent situations.
