All of the interior tables feature white tablecloths and black cloth napkins. The patrons range from date-night couples in button-down shirts and slacks, to casual guys in t-shirts, jorts, and high-tops, to families with small toddlers. It has a really cool, welcoming vibe. They also have a full bar an extensive wine selection Our server, Annette, greeted us right when we sat down and made sure we had drinks while she finished up with another table. She was an absolute pro at guiding us through the menu. You have a few main directions to go: an extensive pizza selection with five types of crust and 21 toppings ($19-$36 plus toppings), tempting sandwiches and salads ($15-$27), or their handmade pastas, risotto, and specialties including chicken, veal, seafood, and house classics ($20-$35). We started with the Calamari Fritti, and it was excellent--tender and crispy. My friend noted that the cocktail sauce isn't your standard out-of-the-jar sauce; it has a hint of sweetness and spice that really elevates it. We were also served warm bread for the table. One of my friends had trouble deciding between the full slab of ribs and the Ribeye steak sandwich ($25), but ultimately went with the steak sandwich. If you put the bread aside, you essentially get an excellent charbroiled ribeye steak dinner for $25. Sandwiches come with fries, but Annette happily substituted a side of pasta in marinara. My husband opted for an order of meatballs and the Tortellini in meat sauce. I am an adventurous eater--I've had tripe prepared in Mexico, Poland, and Ukraine, so I was excited to try the Italian version here. Served in a savory tomato sauce over pasta ($25), the tripe was delightfully tender and rich. I also ordered a side of neck bones braised in a hearty red sauce. Honestly, you could make a full meal of the neck bones alone using the warm bread to dip into that sauce. We look forward to exploring even more of the menu the next time we visit!

I've lived in the Chicago/ Elmwood Park neighborhood for 36 years and I can't believe I did not come across this pizza place. The food is absolutely amazing. The flavor and sauce. The beef sandwiches just melt in your mouth. The service is great. Nice people who put customers first. Always have a smile on their faces and ready to take your order. The delivery is fast. In a small rural town, I would say this pizza is fine, in Chicago or really any mid-size metro there is no other way to describe this pizza as anything other than mediocre, especially given its price and proximity to much, much, better pizza places. From what I can tell, they are using the pre-made crusts you can buy from distributors (you can see the uniform little pinholes that are placed on these crusts when being manufactured), the sauce and mozzarella tastes similar to the kinds hospital/school cafeterias serve so I assume they also use the same generic food distributor product for these as well (Sysco, GFS or similar). Again in a rural area where this might be your only options for the affordable sourcing of sauce and cheese I could understand. But in this area (historically Italian and extremely close to a dense authentic Italian population on Harlem), there's little excuse to not be able to source affordable high quality, fresh, ingredients. Ambiance seemed nice in there, clean and bright. A bit lacking in personality or distinct style, but fine enough for eating with friends/family. Service was a bit on the cold side, but not bad - they seemed nice enough and we're just trying to get through the shift. For an "Italian" restaurant this spot was very disappointing and comes across as lazy/low effort. It's not unclean or uncomfortable but too expensive for cafeteria pizza. Can't really recommend over other nearby offerings.

Our van driver recommended Nick & Bruno's - I called, the person who answered was nice, and they specified 45 minutes for delivery. An hour and a half later, nearing 1 am and deathly ready for a nap, I meet the driver outside our hotel and carry an unusually heavy box of pizza into the room to the relief of my hungry travel companions. We opened the lid to reveal a pizza, with much of the (mountainous pile of) cheese moved to one half of the pie, extending well beyond the crust into the box, where it had congealed and adhered. All of this we could live with if the pizza just tasted okay. It did not. The sauce was weak (and light), the crust was bland and lifeless (was supposed to be "pan" with a golden buttery crust), and the several pounds of cheese had hardened into a weirdly oozy disc on top of it all. Even just getting a slice out was nigh on impossible without the cheese dumping off, as it had been insufficiently cut. I ate one piece. My son ate one piece. My wife ate one piece. I wrapped up the rest of it to take to the airport for breakfast. What comes next is the worst part of all this - after one slice each, we felt a bit of tummy discomfort. My son and I refused to eat any more. But my wife proceeded to eat 4 more slices over the next day...and is currently, 2 days later, paying the price with what appears to be some level of food poisoning. She's been eating mostly toast and bananas since the pizza, and is right now sending me to the store for Pepto and ginger ale. I've probably eaten a thousand different pizzas in my lifetime and this one managed to be the worst - and that includes cafeteria and frozen pies. It's funny, Chicago is supposed to be this great pizza city yet I'm consistently left wanting by the ones we get there. Maybe Nick & Bruno's other pizza styles are better? Maybe it's a one-off thing? Regardless, this was a poorly spent $30 and I would urge you to try something else.
