I never really take out the time to write these kinds of reviews because they don't resolve anything. However, if I can save another person the headache and money then this post is worth it. This company is dishonest!! I am applauded they are still in business. I called CV to diagnose my AC unit that was not blowing cold air. On the 1st visit, the tech had no idea how to mess with my nest thermostat. He advised me to charge the thermostat and left. This resolved nothing. AC unit was in the same condition after the visit. To add insult to injury, I was charged a service fee without a fix to the problem. This led to a 2nd visit, a different tech came out. His solution was to change the capacitor, the fan speed relay, and add freon. Needless to say I was overcharged for these parts (See receipt attached). I was never quoted for these parts prior to installation. Parts were installed and I was charged $975. Not an issue if it would have fixed the problem, but it didn't! All the freon installed leaked out and froze the AC lines. This warranted a 3rd visit where I was advised I needed a new unit all together. If I were told this from the beginning it wouldn't have been an issue. But now I'm out $975 and still have a broken AC unit. I called the manager at CV, Glendis who is probably the rudest, most dismissive, unprofessional human being I've encountered in my life. I explained to her the situation. She continuously kept talking over me, expressed how lucky for not charging 3 service fees for every time the tech came out. I was then cornered into receiving a $500 credit for a new AC unit replacement but only if I utilized the company for replacement. Who would want to give you more business after this experience?? She was extremely dismissive at what I had to say and just kept repeating the same narrative. She eventually hung up on me with me resolution. So here I sit with a broken AC unit and out of $975. I have been dealing with CV Plumbing for many years and have always been very satisfied this company. I have had issues with both heating and air conditioning. Each time I called with a problem, I got immediate service. One Christmas Eve when the temperature was in the teens, my heat went off. I had many guests sitting down to dinner. I called CV Plumbing and Chris was at my house within 20 minutes. He worked and had the heat on in less than 45 minutes. We were all so grateful to Chris that he came out Christmas Eve to help. He was amazing! There were no special charges and no expensive bill. He is a wonderful man. This Summer, when the temperature was 98 degrees, my AC stopped working. I was charged $520.00 plus tax to add Freon to my central air conditioner. The charges were $225.00 service call, $100.00 for labor and $300.00 for two lbs of Freon. After I complained about the 20minute service call the tech reduced the charges to $520.00 plus tax = $563.55. This is plain abuse of a 83 year old senior customer. My Central Ac stopped working on this hottest day and I called Cv Plumbing i got someone from there to check out my AC on the same day ad i thought i was so lucky, However, when the guy arrived he was in a hurry and my husband was on the phone trying to explain what was the problem and my husband told him to check the AC outside because the breaker was turning off. The guy went to the attic ? , the boiler ? and when i notice he was writing the bill and he never went to the back to check the AC and i called my husband and he made some question about our AC and he coul not answer and at that moment he went to check it and he didnt even take 2 min and came to tell me that we need to change is our central AC :( i was very upset Thanks God I called Clarkstown heating & air in Pearl River and the guy came to check it and again my husband was explaining to this new guy and he paid attention to him and understood inmediately and he checked the thermostat , the breaker and the Ac on the back and in less than 10 min he knew what piece needs to be replaced and in less than 30 minutes i have AC again. This guy was very knowlegable and i do not care paying him. BUT this guys from CV Plumbing Heating and Air could not see the problem . I called the office to give my feedback about their employees and I was told a manager will call me. I made an appointment for 12 to 3 and the guy shows up after 4. Tell him I have to leave and will reschedule. he offers to come in and take pictures of the work so he can know what he is coming back to fix. He leaves. A few days later I am in the hospital with my father and Lexi calls me and tells me that I didn't pay my bill. I asked her what bill, she said it cost them money to send the guy and I need to pay. The guy NEVER gave me a bill and he was 1 hour late and never even called me. When I tried to explain this to her she hung up on me. I called back and she said find someone else to do your work and hung up again, I called a 3rd time and got someone else who explained to me that it cost them money and I said if the guy would have given me a bill I would have paid it. A neighbor tries to make and appointment and again LEXI has an attitude and hangs up on her. This women is losing tons of business for Chris and should be fired. I have made sure everybody I know heard about this and I even give them another plumbers name. She is rude, unprofessional and I hope they go out of business because of her! read more

The service fee was moderate but the price for parts was outrageous - thousands - including parts I think we didn't actually need, but I'm not an expert and it's summer and I need AC. Called CV Plumbing due to a pipe being cut and a water leak by flooring contractors. I was told they would arrive the next morning between 8 and 11 am No one showed up. When called later in the day to see when I would receive service I was told that they had "higher priorities" and would come to me later. No later time frame is given, no follow up call to me to tell me whether or not I would receive service for that day. I waited the entire day unsure if I could leave or not so I wouldn't miss the service call. I wasted my time this is not the way to do business...NEVER AGAIN read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND CV PLUMBING HEATING AND AIR I contacted CV and left a voicemail notifying them that I would like an appointment with one of their plumbers and never received a call back...instead, while I was at work a plumber showed up at my door and my wife sent him away because she did not expect them. She called the office to notify them that someone came by and the woman told her that she spoke with me...Lie number 1; finally told the truth and said she left a voicemail on an answering machine. Second time: I receive a call that they now want to set up an appointment to come do the job and apologized for the first unscheduled visit. Anyway...we make an appointment and they tell us that they will be here between 12-4 pm, so I decided fine and I'll work from home. At 3:45 I call CV and was told that he would be here in 15 mins...the guy shows up at 4:30, I found him in the driveway across the street and I said to him (Eddie) "you're in the wrong driveway" and he sarcastically snickers and said "this is the address I was given"...Lie number 2, the office informed me he had the correct address. So he comes in to the house reviews the work that needs to be done and then tells me he needs two hours to do the work and that I should reschedule with CV again, and he also asked me to prep the area and remove a portion of the wall; what BS...who does that? I expected to have my work done! Third and final: I reschedule with the office the next morning and opened the wall thinking that this time they would actually show up and do the work...was I wrong! I received a call after making the appointment was told that he could not be here early and would certainly do the afternoon...this morning (07/02/2021) I get a call from the office notifying me that they cannot come today!!! WTF...I lost it. They offered me a 10% for the work, and started to make excuses as to why he could not make it today..."It's a big job", it's connecting a double vanity sink to the wall!!! This F'er made me open a wall to expose piping and now he isn't coming. Then I get a call from the office again to tell me that the owner will personally come and do the work...I'll get someone else who hopefully is more reliable. When I said no, forget it...she said "well we tried", typical bullshit and not taking responsibility for their actions. CV Plumbing Heating and Air...you should be embarrassed. As a business owner myself, I take pride in my firms reliability and honesty. He was at my house in under an hour with the hot water heater replaced in less time it took to get there. Don was a complete professional and took the time to walk me through everything he was doing. Don't use this company! My new house purchase was contingent on the sellers making a few minor fixes. One was to move the air conditioning drain to run outside the house rather than into the sewage. They made this update and gave us the receipt at closing. During the walk thru we ran the air conditioner and we felt cold air coming out so figured everything was fine. We saw the drain coming out of the side of the house with no connection to a gutter or real drainage. But since the sellers took real pride in how they kept the house (they even took care to pull the weeds out the day before closing) we figure it was fine.We didn't turn it on again for a while since the weather was cooler. A few weeks later however we did realize the pan under the unit was filled with water. Seeing that Chris had done the work we called his office to ask him what could be going on. He made arraignments to come to the house on a day and time when my husband could be home. He called the morning of the appointment and said he would have to come earlier cause he wouldn't go into the attic in the afternoon on a hot day. My husband explained he made arrangemens with work to come in the afternoon as they originally agreed to but Chris said he wouldn't do that. So my husband shifted everything to accommodate Chris. When he arrived he said that the freon was low and the pipes froze (pretty surprising since the machine had only run for 10 minutes at most). We asked him why he didn't check that when he was there a month ago and he said he wasn't asked to. So we asked if he had turned on the air conditioner when he moved the drain to be sure the work he had done was correct (since he would have realized then the freon issue). He said no. So I asked how he could be sure it was all good and there wouldn't be leaks or anything. He said he just did. Most professionals I know would check their work. Chris went a step further and charged us for his labor again, even though he was there a month prior and should have caught the problem then. He and his receptionist were rude during every conversation and interaction. The siding on our house is now stained (after only 2 months of using the air conditioning) and the roof it drips onto will probably be damaged as well if we don't fix it. My house inspector happened to come by my house a few weeks ago and was just as stunned as we were. Why would he just shove the drain outside the house instead of into a gutter (which was only a few inches away) where it could run off properly? And why would he not have turned on the unit to be sure his new work was done correctly? I shrugged because I had no answer for him. This is how he does his work I guess. This Plumber is PLUM amazing-Chris Valvo (the owner & head honcho of CV Plumbing & Heating) installed 3 appliances in my home despite the fact that they were not delivered with the required hardware & accessories & the delivery men didn't properly prep them for installation. Multiple times his supportive staff came from his shop to supply stuff he needed. Never once did he tell me that he would be back in a week with the parts. I bet you've all heard that one too. I had a guy look at the problem weeks ago he said they could do it. This guy is a CROOK do not use him! Came to my house when hot water heater broke and took my warranty sticker before any work was authorized. When I called around and found the job could be done for 1/2 the price and told him no go he effectively ransomed the sticker back to me for $225 and I even had to call the police to get someone from his office to return the sticker. Do not let your hot water heater warranty sticker out of your possession until you know how you're going to proceed! This type of job, labor cost for hot water heater replacement, should cost no more than $700 to $900, and CV quoted $1300. read more

The owner of the company actually answered the phone, let me know that he was already nearby servicing another customer, but would come by afterward. I only told him we had no heat. Within 15 minutes he called back, and was at my home 5 minutes later. He came in, diagnosed the problem, got the right part, and made the repair. And I didn't have to see the plumber's crack. Definitely would NOT recommend for Pools OR returning phone calls! The work men were polite enough but unfortunately did not install a Pool Pump & Filtration system properly and had to return three times to finally get it right! Then we had a different guy come out to inspect for a leak and after a $200 bill he could not find it! We had to consult with a different local Pool Company and they sent out someone who found it in a half hour! It was VERY difficult to get Chris on the phone as Meredith kept making excuses & promising a call back saying he was away or was not in the Office! Frustrating! Chris came to my home and told me what the problem was, I thought he was coming in for one thing but he told me I had a bigger problem then I thought it was. He came and fixed the problem very fast the next day! Which was great, The receptionist is just so rude, she doesn't care about what you have to say even though, you're paying the company. If I was him I would fire her and hire someone nicer. After they did the job, they were focused on two things the plumbing and the AC, the plumbing was great! I was able to get hot water and cold water, but the AC issue was the still problem. I called the receptionist was still rude, because I wanted to tell them that I still have no AC, Chris came out and noticed that the system had never been plugged in. How could that be something his workers forgot? It makes no sense to me. Also watch out for this company, get a second opinion, sometimes they will tell you something is a problem and it is not. They will also call there other workers and expect you to pay them, on top of what he told you the price was going to be. After I paid the receptionist "Forgot" to send me a receipt. Nor did she ever send me a contract of what was going to be done, and my warranties. I suggest to just go to another place that is more responsible and professional. read more

My 24 year old furnace gave out on a 19 degree evening and the night before the nor'easter that dumped 12+ inches of snow in the area. There was no way to repair the ancient motor. That night Tom was able to re-engineer a motor from the shop and get the furnace going so my family and I would have heat until a new furnace could be installed. The new furnace was installed the day after the storm. Professional work from beginning to end. These guys are angels! read more
