First off, how do you not have a pharmacy open 24/7 in this high market area? You would think all the high rents and mortgages around here would warrant around-the-clock availability for your medical/prescription needs. There's little to no parking here, so you're always worried about getting a ticket if you're running in and out. My prescription came in the night before, and when I got there at opening, it wasn't available and they told me to wait 10 mins. 20 mins later, I'm still waiting. Computers aren't working, things are beeping behind the counter, they need to get their sh... together. You would think someone would get in a little earlier to have pending prescriptions ready sooner, but I guess that's today's society. Life can wait as death approaches. read more

Shoutout to Jilla and the pharmacy team! It's basically a treasure hunt finding chickenpox vaccine in the DMV area, and after trying so many Walgreens, I finally gave up and switched to make an appointment at this CVS location. The pharmacy was very nice to let me know before hand that the vaccine was delayed due to supply chain issues and asked me to call back next week and check the stock. They even helped me locating another CVS store in town with the vaccine in stock. Anyways, when I checked back the next week, knowing the vaccine arrived, I went to the location where the staffers were professional and patient. Jilla, who gave me the shot, was very nice and sweet. Solid and fairly large cvs with all the pharmacy necessities and a good bit more than usual in the makeup and hair care departments. The area is tricky for parking and is more likely to have a homeless person talking to unknown entities outside one of the entrances than other Arlington Cvs locations you might encounter. But I've been numerous times including several in the late night/wee hours in the morning (between 12am and 4am), and I've never had a problem with anyone or felt unsafe there as a result. It can be a bit unsettling initially though, depending on the person or persons and what they're saying and how crazy they sound saying it of course...and all of this may be more concerning for some than others (I've lived in quite a few "colorful" areas of big cities and this scene is more like those than standard suburban Arlington style...it doesn't bother me but it seems worth noting this in a review here). Anyway, once you find a parking spot and make your way inside (I usually choose whatever entrance is furthest from any ranting homeless person, but not always...depends on my mood), you'll find that the place is unexpectedly nice and well stocked. Makeup options are as good or better than any pharmacy in the area, including full selections of all the main lines (Revlon, Maybelline, Cover Girl, L'Oréal, etc, plus a better selection of Almay, Neutrogena, Physicians Formula, NYX, Milani, and other brands that are sometimes missing entirely or have a much more limited selection than you see here. The NYX and Almay selections are particularly good here and notably better than other pharmacies in the area. Skincare and hair care offerings are also solid and seem as good or better than the competition. Oh! And nail polish and nail care options are awesome! All sorts of fun stuff here. All of these as well as food and beverages and seasonal items are on the first floor. Interestingly, everything else is upstairs on the second floor. This includes pretty much all the things one might consider as staple items in a traditional pharmacy: medicine, first aid supplies, vitamins, supplements, other health items, and, you know...the actual pharmacy, with a pharmacist who dispenses prescriptions and all that good stuff. They're all there and well stocked. But they're all on the second floor. It's a bit odd. But it's all marked fairly well with signage at entrances and in large print on the walls, and more importantly, it's very easily accessible via escalators and an elevator towards the back of the store. In addition to the pharmacy, there's a pretty nice sized waiting area, a bathroom (which is nice because many pharmacies here do not have one now for some reason), along with aisles of medicines and all that good stuff. Cleaning supplies, other household items, office supplies, greeting cards and other sorts of things are also upstairs on that level. It's nothing spectacular but as good or better than any other pharmacies in the area. And definitely one of the best places you'll find open if you need something urgent after midnight or you're just a super night owl like me. It's a bummer that the pharmacy is not open 24 hours like the store itself. Confusing. But it's not. So. If you need a 24 hour pharmacy, this one is not going to help. For that, the Spout Run CVS at 3133 Lee Highway is the closest and best--if not the only--24 hour pharmacy option in Arlington. That last issue notwithstanding, this is a very good cvs with far more packed into its small footprint. And I've tried a lot of them. read more

I went to CVS to redeem a 3 for $9 deal on Coca-Cola 12-packs that I received by email today from CVS and sent to my ExtraCare card. I was charged $13.99 which means I was overcharged $4.99, but instead of just refunding my $4.99, I was given a hassle. The cashier did not speak good English or seem to understand simple math. She called over another worker who did not help. I showed them the deal that CVS sent to my email today, but they made me produce my driver's license (which I did) and gave me a coupon for $6 Extrabucks instead of refunding me $4.99. This store needs to do better. read more

Pharmacy staff dishonest and abusive towards customers. They lied about what time the pharmacy closes. I was informed the pharmacy was closed on Saturday at 5:00 pm when in reality the pharmacy was closing in one hour at 6pm. I caught the lie and shook by the pharmacy's actions. A pharmacy that refuses to provide customers medication during operation hours?! Say What? The pharmacy member scolded me about the hour I arrived (5 pm). The staff member's argument against providing service was illogical. They ranted this was America and there for people don't have to work the weekend unlike in other countries. Um ... Open question to pharmacy member- why did you accept a position at a pharmacy thats operational to the public until 6pm on Saturday? That's on you. Stop abusing customers. read more

I've had too many issues with the pharmacy here. They never answer the phone (as every other review mentions). I told the manager, Alex, this and she didn't sound like she cared or would look into it. The pharmacy tries to sign you up for auto-refill on prescriptions. They will ask you if you want auto-refill, and when you say "no," the document that you sign on the electronic pad to receive your prescription actually says "this will enroll you in auto-refill." It's a big scam. Just today I had an appt at the pharmacy for vaccinations. They were running late but lied to me and said they weren't? They literally told me they would be ready for me 10 minutes after my appt time, but "we aren't running late." I'm like... listen. I don't mind a few extra minutes but you can't just lie to me and say that late isn't late. A couple of the employees got really defensive about this. Jesus they suck at customer service. I'll give 2 stars because I haven't had issues with the rest of the store. read more

Would give 0 stars. Tried to get ahold of this pharmacy yesterday. I would call, go through all of the voice prompts, and finally get a ring. It would ring once and I could hear someone actively pick up and answer the phone, but act like they weren't. They hung up on me immediately everytime. After a couple times of getting the phone slammed down on me, I started talking when they had half-answered and got placed on hold. They also hung up from there. The worst. Beyond unhelpful pharmacy. I've been to thousands of CVS around the US, and this one takes the cake.

We've used this pharmacy several times since we live close. Here's the list of issues we've had in 3 different visits: 1. Doctor had called in a prescription at 1:00 PM and at 7:00 PM prescription had not yet been filled yet. After inquiring they said they would work on it. Came back at 7:30 PM and it still had not been filled. The prescription was for a small bottle of steroid (staff literally needed to grab the container and place in bag. 2. When collecting prescription, pharmacist brought the wrong medication and only noticed it when we noted a different name on the sticker. 3. On several occasions the Pharmacy sent out texts offering refills of non-prescribed refills. 4. After making a mistake, pharmacist excused themselves that they were tired after 8 hours of the shift (mind you this is a person responsible for medication) 5. Issues with insurance. We are no longer using this pharmacy due to the lack of professionalism and attention to detail for that we expect as a minimum for a pharmacy. read more

Not stocked well: This CVS is regularly out of the basics, for instance they NEVER have Evian waters. The pharmacy has even been out of my medicine more than once. The pharmacy techs always recommend I just go to another pharmacy. Cleanliness: It's ALWAYS filthy in here. I really don't understand it. I thought maybe I was spoiled by my neighborhood CVS in Reston Town Center (friendless, cleanliness, well stocked, open to feedback), and then I went to the CVS at Spout Run Pkwy and realized it's just this CVS. It's horribly managed and run. Management: There are ALWAYS boxes around and in the way. Sure, they are 24 hours, so I guess they don't follow the normal restocking hours of 0400-0700 like most CVS stores, but they're never actually unloading anything. The boxes are just left around to add to the general feeling of uncleanliness here. There's always a self checkout lane that is not working. Now I travel to another CVS pharmacy & CVS for anything I need. When I come to this one out of convenience, I'm consyantly disappointed. CVS can't control this, but just an FYI. There is a HUGE homeless population where this CVS is. (There's a prison, drug clinic, and homeless sort of shelter within a mile. The metro stop being connected most likely doesn't help either.) At least one time, everytime, entering or exiting I'm asked for cash or just generally yelled at by someone on the street outside of here. Usually not a problem, but at night, alone it can be rather unsettling. read more

Review for pharmacy only; Maybe it's too early to rate this CVS, but I can always update later. Today was my first time at this location because I used to go to the one in Rosslyn right across the street from my office, then my office moved. This is the closest one for me to visit on my lunch break now. It definitely seems busier than the Rosslyn one, where it was usually pretty rare to even have to wait in line at all if you went during 9-5 hours. While there were only two people in front of me at this location today, things were moving slowly. The pharmacy techs were friendly, though, and they didn't mess anything up, so four stars for now. read more

They are well stocked. Always busy and some staff must feel overworked because not very pleasant at times.

Totally average CVS. There are two entrances, though, which is different... Everything was well organized except the employee bathroom was a wreck. But it's probably not really for customers, so I can't fault them for it, but the bathroom was all disorganized and unhygienic. They kindly let my kindergartner use it, so that was nice, but those poor employees! WARNING: I'm gonna talk about periods in a second, so move on to the next review if you like to pretend that those don't exist. ;) Anyway, I was grateful to find a CVS when Aunt Flo ambushed me. Unlike other small-scale CVS locations in urban locations, this one was incredibly well-stocked with feminine hygiene products. Like, tons of options, including Diva Cups. Weird, right? They even had a product I've never heard of before called Softcups, which are kinda like one-use Diva Cups. ($12.99 for a box of 14, but they last 12 hours each, so not a bad deal in an urban CVS.) If you're balking at a $40 Diva Cup, check out the Softcups here. I got a box and I have a feeling my period life has changed forever. But I digress. Everything was a-okay at this CVS. Awful. Been visiting this location for four years and have been utterly compassionate and understanding with the renovations and changes with the construction of the building and other staff. The straw that broke the camel's back is when there is no reciprocation with the photo computers. They are always breaking and the systems are not connected well to cvs online. The coupon code online does not fit to the system even though I paid for it, Waited 45 minutes to get photos printed because the printer didn't work. The manager Emmanuel was rude and showed no compassion even when I waited for so long with a sick baby. Shame on CVS 2121 15th Street in Arlington. read more

I like the staff as people but this is the slowest worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Alex (pharmacist) is wonderful. The location is convenient it is right by metro but I think that I have to switch to a new one. Again people are nice - truly- but there is no incentive for anyone to do better. This review isn't going to do anything to improve the time and service. They just need more staff I think. I was on hold for 45 minutes without speaking to someone today. I live 500ft from this store, so unfortunately, it just makes more sense for me to get my prescriptions there. Almost every time one of my doctors sends a prescription, they "don't have it" and tell me to call the doctor. I did this once, and the doctor said just ask the pharmacy to call him. They refused, saying "no we can't call you have to" but I stood firm and they finally did it (you can't do it, huh?) there are TWO good pharmacists, both younger people in their early 20s, and they are far more polite, helpful, and hardworking than anyone else at that pharmacy. As for the store - I once was being cornered by some random man (I'm a small, younger man but he was probably 3x my size and twice my age) because he didn't like that the pharmacy skipped him and helped me when he had left the line to browse products elsewhere on the floor (he was gone for at least 5 minutes, of course they're gonna move on to the next person!. By this time I was downstairs and as this huge man cornered me I started yelling for help - the store is nearly empty of customers - I make eye contact with two female employees and one male employee, who simply stared at me while I yelled for help. No one called security or the police (station is right across the street, by the way!) and no one even said a word or lifted a finger. Since I already paid I just walked out the door and tried to lose the man, but he began following me and since I live right across the street I didn't want him to know where I live so I started walking toward the police station. Luckily my wife was walking our dogs at the moment and happened to be passing the police station as well. As soon as this man sees my wife (a very classically beautiful young lady), he starts acting like this harmless man who was being followed by ME. Absolutely insane. He clearly just wanted to pick on someone smaller than him but as soon as he saw a beautiful woman he didn't want to be perceived like that. He was a broad shouldered, big bellied tanned white man and he spoke European Spanish as well as English. He drives a dark colored car that might have been a Mini Cooper or a Volkswagon Golf. Stay safe everybody. And CVS, you need to do better. read more

I've grown up around CVS's all my life and for some reason, I am in love with this one. It's 24hours and open on holidays, so it's where I get my wine (I know it's tacky) and Hot Pockets when I'm feeling lazy and/or depressed. The place is very well stocked and I've started a love affair with their CVS brand Cranberry juice. I also love their As Seen on TV section, so yes, I own that veggie chopper, the Shamwow, and soon--godwilling--the Ped Egg. They're also really professional at this location. I've come in here at 3am and drunkenly purchased an armful of conspicuous sexy items and they've never judged me. The only downside is when there's a line and only one cashier--it takes them forever to call for backup. read more

They don't sell Sebeka Pinotage anymore! :( I figure this CVS is like any other, but one thing that [used to be] PHENOMENAL about it is their selection of cheap South African wine. While not the greatest quality wine, it was soooo convenient. And the pinotage (a medium-bodied red with lots of fruit, but not Arbor Mist obnoxious) had an extra spike of punch-your-lights-out goodness (I've never finished two glasses without falling asleep with my nose in the second one. Pharmacy only: This pharmacy is mind-bendingly incompetent. They've lost several prescriptions that I've had called in, to the point where one of my doctors actually has it noted in my file that they often have to call twice. They have also told me for two separate drugs that I can't have them filled, but not explained why, and I later find that it could have been filled had they just called the insurance company. I know that it's extremely convenient for courthouse residents, but if you have somewhere near your work, for the love of all that is holy, go there instead. read more

Convenient location right above the Metro station and open 24 hours, so the convenience factor of this location is top notch. They're in the middle of remodeling now (February 2018) so I'm not sure if that means they'll expand the selection or if they're doing something else, but the store in general feels really small compared to other locations -- although that does tend to be the norm for the urban stores versus suburban locations with a dedicated parking lot. Basically this place has the essentials and a few extras, but not a ton of frills. read more

Will put your prescriptions on "Rapid-Refill" (auto-refill) so they will be filled when the computer thinks it is time, not you or your doctor. If you have to make any dosage changes, or try to leave this awful pharmacy- SURPRISE you can't because they've already charged your insurance. Convenient location, varied selection, and extremely helpful staff. I didn't expect much when I saw the low rating but my experiences here have been outstanding. I work nearby so I stop by for odds and ends that are always well stocked. The friendly staff walk by and offer to help. When I needed a Rx in a hurry, my Dr. called it in, I called later with my insurance info and it was ready for pick up in 15 minutes! Shabat (sp?) at the pharmacy counter was very helpful on the phone and when I stopped by to pick it up, she acknowledged me with a smile and very good service. Unfortunately only 1 Star as I went here to have a disposable camera developed. (I know, I know- no longer a common thing) Was initially told they didn't do it, though they had the posters near their film area toting this service. I pushed the issue & asked to s/w someone else. This second employee said they DID do it, but "Oh, look, unfortunately we're out of envelopes to request this." which means they can't send in the film to be processed until they get more envelopes sent to them. I highly recommend this location getting rid of this service altogether, if they're unwilling to keep it maintained and are only making their customers waste everyone's time. read more

The pharmacy staff is very dedicated and regularly accommodate people on short notice. My first prescription after moving from out of state had an error on it, and they worked to get ahold of the physicians office way after hours and fixed it all! Great service! The store is another story. Very limited selection, especially considering it's on a metro stop and gets high traffic. I couldn't even get a disinfectant that could be used on carpet after my dog had a bad day all over my carpet. Considering how many dogs there are in Courthouse, it's kind of shocking. The lines are also always a bit ridiculous, even when the store isn't very busy. TLDR: Pharmacy is 5 stars, Store is 2 stars. read more

We needed a last minute money order for a security deposit but all federal places are closed on Sundays and we were driving around in circles looking for a place. If you want to talk about customer service and general hospitality, all four people present at the time get zero stars. Hope I never have to shop here. I absolutely LOVE this CVS!!! I go to this location at least 3 times every week because I work nearby. This CVS location has the kindest staff. They are always ready to help you find what you need. I am greeted with a smile and a hello on every visit and my experience is always pleasant. The new store is BEAUTIFUL and always clean. They have so much variety and one of the employees, Calixta is a total SUPERSTAR!! She is so very nice and has helped me on more than one occasion find what I need or print coupons. I LOVE her! Good luck with your prescriptions. It's a miracle if someone is working the pick up counter and someone else working drop off. For being a brand new pharmacy area, you'd think they could figure out to not have a line all the way to the back of gene store just to get medication. There's 3 registers at the pickup counter and have literally never seen more than 1 person there. Get your act together CVS, just because you remodeled the place doesn't mean the customer service is any better. read more

Location is good and selection is ok. You have to really pay attention when items are being rung up. Almost every time I go in, I have an item that rings up for more what the shelf price said. I think that's a general CVS issue as I remember this used to happen at the one in shirlington also. read more
