I didn't want to be too harsh on the stars because I have found the staff here to be very nice and helpful, but the pharmacist is very cold, rude and arrogant and acts like you are just a big distraction in her very important life. I never take any drugs for anything, ever, and had a lot of apprehension about a prescription I was given. I called and asked about it over the phone, but after that, read something slightly different online, or at least it left me with some doubt. So when I arrived to pick it up and wanted to rediscuss the drug, ..she actually said, "I think we already had this discussion on the phone yesterday." wow. Thanks lady. I felt like I was in a a tv commercial!! My rx had been rejected by my insurance (altho 3 stars for the fact that they didn't call me) and Dennis (pharmacist) got right on it when I came in to pick up. It took several phone calls and a lot of time on hold (what was life like without the hold button?) but handled it with great humor and professionalism! He got it approved, then ran it through double quick! I hardly had time to browse the store while waiting. (:+ They called me to pick up within 5 minutes (& they were fairly busy at the time) and I was out of there, with a friendly reminder to call my Dr to get an authorization. I have been a customer at the CVS on Fletcher Parkway for as long as I can remember. My father is a retired pharmacisit and he knows one of the pharmacy technicians who is amazing! However after the experience I had today I am switching all of my prescriptions to a new pharmacy. I had a problem with my insurance billing. I have 2 insurance carriers. They billed both. My primary paid in full with $0.00 copay, but they also billed my secondary without the primary info and my secondary paid, but charged me a copay. My husband wasn't aware and paid the $44 copay, so I was trying to get it straightened out, but when I called I was basically be told by a techinician "not my problem". I flat out told her I expected them to fix their mistake in billing. So I was left on hold for about 10 minutes or so during which time the phone was picked up by a different woman that I brefiely explained my problem to and she didn't get it either! When the rep came back on the phone I get this. 'Well we billed both, don't you want me to?" So I explained that if a primary pays in full there is no need to bill a secondary. I explained what a copay is. What a deductible is and what a coinsurance amount is. She still didn't get it! I explained to her again that if my primary insurance pays in full then they have no need to bill my secondary. I told her double billing is illegle. I think she thought that because the full amount wasn't paid that there was a balance. She didn't understand that if the allowed amount and the paid amount are the same and there is 0 copay then that is paid in full. I spend 2 1/2 hours on the phone trying to getting all this figured out and guess what I am still stuck trying to fix their mistake. I do medical billing for a living so I know how to do all of this, but if I didn't I would have been ripped off and so would my insuarnce company. Because together they paid more than the total billed cost of the prescription I have seen the pharmacy going down hill with some new employees for awhile and while the pharmacisits are good, the manager is good, the 2 women I spoke with today, one of which is a supervisor I was told, have no place working in a pharmacy. So now I have to find a new pharmacy because I am not going back there! read more

I had to call my doctor's office again because they gave me false information about a puckup. THE WORST! DO NOT GO HERE! If I could have given no stars I would have. The pharmacist, Dale, has no clue what is going on. They are clearly understaffed and all have bad attitudes. My doctor tried to call in to clarify something on a prescription and THEY WOULDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE! In frustration, he finally called me to tell me they weren't answering the phone. I won't go into all the details but I got the store manager involved. She was very nice and said she had several complaints about the pharmacy that week. This is a long over due review for a woman named Shannon working at this CVS. I just called the corporate office to compliment her. I tried to fill out an online survey for her last month and the web site kept asking me for an invitation number which I didnt have so I couldnt provide her a compliment then. I found my receipt today an did so now. I was at this CVS on June 27th 2014 at 10:49am looking for make up for job interviews. Shannon has this great big welcoming smile that says I really do want to assist you. Shannon was dressed very proffessional, was in a terriffic mood while serving the public, anwsered all of my questions at the front counter and helped me find what I was looking for. What impressed me the most is I found that same make up cheaper at another store and she matched their sale price to earn my business. :) Shannon saved me the gas money and time of going somewhere else to save a couple of bucks. I got every thing I needed right there with Shannon. She is a wonderful representative of CVS. read more

CVS is the worst pharmacy chain in the world. It's like getting prescriptions in China. Their service is slow and unable to change. They refuse to see it's their fault. If your that busy, hire more people, pay 'em a decent wage and organize the process. I have CVS/Caremark drug insurance and the mail in Caremark side refuses to provide some drugs that are a part of my coverage and has told my Dr. of 22 years what to prescribe to me. The two drugs in question give me intolerable side effects and the other drugs do not but they won't change. I've filed complaints through the state government, the feds told me to, and Caremark lied about my coverage and the state dropped the case w/out following up with me. This particular CVS filled a prescription with the wrong drug and then blamed me for accepting it. I picked up the prescription on the way to the airport for a month long trip in Europe. I had an allergic reaction and went to the hospital in London. They cared for me, gave me the proper drug and didn't charge me a dime. There is a HUGE problem with health care in this country. Every Brit I talked to about it, maybe 30, loved their National Health Care. read more

This is the WORST pharmacy I have EVER dealt with! Takes forever every single time. And just now, I have had the following experience. I called and was asked to be put on hold for a minute, I said "no problem". After 15 MINUTES and no one had picked up, I was HUNG UP ON. I called back and they again asked to put me on hold. I answered "just don't hang up on me again!" After 17 MINUTES MORE, still NO ONE picked up! Seriously????? Over 35 minutes just to get a simple question answered. TERRIBLE!!!!! ZERO star to the female pharmacist named Deborah. It was busy and they were short staffed, so I had to wait at pickup for 20 min just to be told that the prescription my doctor sent was not in the system and have to go to the drop off. Came my turn at the drop off, she called me but kept doing other paperwork, doing some computer entry for other people! Finally she took my name and told me it would be another 30 min! I said " I've been waiting for 30 min already and the prescription was called in earlier, why do I have to wait more???" Then she told me a flat out lie "it just came in right now" What??? My dr. appointment was 3 hours ago and the office closed 2 hours ago and you are telling me it just came in now conveniently when I came up to your counter?! She was very cold and rude, not apologetic at all that the prescription was probably sitting there for a while without going into their system. I would not take any prescription business there anymore !!! read more

Let me start off by saying this one star is no reflection on the store. Strictly the pharmacy. I recently came to this pharmacy after an ER visit. First off older male pharmacist was extremely RUDE. Not only to me but also to an elderly lady who was trying to ask him a question. To which he replied " hold on! Dont you see me on the phone?!" I was helped in the same manner. Next is where it gets better. The following week I returned to this pharmacy ( since I figured they already had my info and it would be faster) WRONG. I had a legitimate prescription and was told " I will need to call your Dr" I asked umm ok why? I was then told " IM NOT FILLING YOUR PRESCRIPTION" and my prescription paper was tossed across the counter at me. Shocked I simply walked away close to tears... My boyfriend and I are both covered in tattoos and are both minorities other than that I had no other explanation for why I was treated so disrespectfully. I went right down the street to Walgreens and had it filled no problem. I will never ever return to this store again. Pharmacist- older white gentleman. Has no Business working in a customer service environment and has NO business profiling people who are sick. read more

Clean store, good variety. However the pharmacy line gets very long, and I waited in line for a pick-up for a good 20 minutes at least. I wish they had a drive thru pharmacy I think it would help the line a little bit or at least have more than one cashier in the pharmacy. read more

This is a large pharmacy that is always available to its customers, 24/7. They have a lot of customers so it isn't the same as going to a small pharmacy. But I especially appreciate the personal help I have received, for over ten years, from Stephanie, who should be sainted, in my book, for all she has done. Our prescription situation has been a difficult path and she has smoothed that path. We had some problems with them losing FAX's but they solved it and this doesn't happen anymore. With probably 500 people per day, they do a pretty good job. Can they improve on customer service? Yes. But it is only one worker I am thinking of who needs to do this, consistently. I cannot comment on the review above, except to say have never seen S. do this sort of thing. I think you can rely on them to always be there. For personal attention, part of the week only, go to a small pharmacy. read more

Incompetent pharmacist refused to fill a script for someone with two broken ribs and a grossly shattered clavicle that was written by a physician's assistant at a local ER with a currently valid license to practice in California because despite having a valid DEA number and valid and active state (state as in California) physician's assistant's licensure, her address of record was out of state. read more

Visited the Minute Clinic at CVS after battling a cold and subsequently severe cough and sore throat. Skeptical about going to a "Minute Clinic" when I have full medical coverage but reached the point I needed some relief quick. Arrived just before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Only three people ahead of me so the wait was relatively short - 30-45 minutes. Janel Shafto, NP, could not have been more professional, efficient and thorough. Left with a fistful of prescriptions and the pharmacy was equally efficient considering it must be one of the highest volume pharmacies in the area based on the number of personnel and prescriptions being filled. Upon the reoccurring treatment we get from a pharmacist, you lost a star. I believe her name is Martha. Unfortunately you lost a 5 star rating based on her lousy attitude. She not only acts like a guy, and has an extreme disconnection in communicating. But she is not a kind person at all. I understand that all people have different varieties of personalities. Normally I try to over look that and jus deal with whoever I get, and display patience best I can. But more then once I have had to pick up medications for either my dad or mom and EVERY SINGLE TIME I have to get her she is so rude. There was an incident today that she called my dad to confirm a medication. He is not doing well, he's disabled and sometimes due to his illnesses its hard for him to recall medications that he might not always use. Instead of displaying patience and being a little more human with him, she made him feel like he's stupid, and doesn't know what he's talking about. Everyone else I have ever gotten there are always so sweet. Especially Philip, Stephanie, and Dale. Now they are the example of loving caring people who are WILLING to help. Martha does not ACT like she cares. Sorry to say but she has an arrogance that is distasteful and I do not enjoy seeing her there. She needs to improve on her customer service because I'm fed up with her attitude. I don't see how she still is working there! read more

I have been a customer here for 12 years, and the pharmacy customer service has gone WAY downhill. I was treated rudely by a new pharmacy tech who yelled at me that they would not be able to fill my husband's hospital discharge prescriptions in the hour and a half they had left until they closed. When I asked when they had switched from being a 24 hour pharmacy, she said loudly and rudely, "all the way back at December 6!" I traveled to the Santee location, where they were very helpful. They were busy and it took an hour, but at least they were nice. For a struggling business (since the Vons next door closed), they are not doing much to keep their customers. I will be transferring my business and prescriptions and business elsewhere. Stephanie is a really great lady though, and I will miss her. She helped me a lot when my dad was sick and for that I am grateful. The place has just really lost its edge when it comes to customer service and even common courtesy. They've gone from being a very good pharmacy to the worst! The pharmacist are very good but they have no staff to work with. Four times I have waited in line for more than half an hour and was unable to get my prescriptions. Today I waited in line for over half an hour with 10 people in front of me. When I got discouraged and laughed, all 10 people were still in front of me and one person being helped had a problem. There was no one else to help her, as usual.A woman asked to clerk if an item had come in and he told her not to come on a Saturday and ask that type of question. I went there with a bad cold and was prescribed cough pills which were a joke and an inhaler. No antibiotics were given. The next week I went back and was told because they were a cooperation they could not give me any unless I had a positive strep test. The Dr and I both believed this was not the case. Now I am in my 4th week with Sinusitis. If I had the proper medication in the first place I don't believe I would feel so bad today and I have done everything I needed to do to get better. Tomorrow I'm going to a REAL Dr for REAL medication so I can get better. They were nice but it was a waste of time and money. Do it right the first time. read more

by far the worst customer service on the plant. they have always filled my perscription at 14days but today Stephine decided she was going to give me a hard time and dispute that my percription is a 15 day fill and she needed an approval from my doc. Well big deal I could always wait another day but thats besides the point... had they not always (for a year) filled my perscription at 14days I wouldnt have been so upset. Now I've drivien 20 miles from work and took over an hour from my lunch break because one day one person decided to follow the "rules". Really good customer service would of been to see the history and realized that all the pharmasists there have filled my percriptions at 14-day no problem...maybe just, maybe shes wrong...or her team is not on the same page in which NOT MY MISTAKE. But she took no accountablity. Blamed all the bad reviews on yelp.com because all the people who have written bad comments about her are because they were requesting narcodics early. Diddnt even offer me a waived co-pay for the drive, time and inconvienace. They are just terriable there all the way around. The last time I was there some Lesbo with long hair and a deep voice wasnt listening to anything I was asking her and kept interupting me. Later for her to learn...if she had listened to "why I was so confussed" maybe she wouldnt have been so annoyed. Their all pretty much jerks but I've always given them the benefit of the dout becuase they seem understaffed. Their all pretty snooty and unfriendly. Except the short phillipeno guy...hes awesome! I have had nothing but poor customer service from this pharmacy. Not once has my experience gone as it should. Whether I've dropped off a prescription or had it called in, the wait is long or the rx is not ready when I arrive to pick it up 2 hrs after it was called in. This is what happened to me tonight. There was a line of about 3 people in front of me and I waited patiently. When I finally got up to the counter, ten minutes later (there was only 1 person checking out customers), He could not find my prescription, so inquired with a pharmacist and came back to tell me it would be just a few minutes. So, I waited in the waiting area they have set-up next to the counter. I guess I shouldn't have assumed, but I did, that this area was for those who have already waited in line and were just waiting for an issue to be resolved, etc. As I'm waiting for another 10 -15 minutes I notice the line is becoming very long at least 7 people are in line by now. Well, my bad...as soon as I heard my name I walked up to the counter and was ignored. I looked over in line and saw that another customer who was waiting in the waiting area before I was, was back in line. She said she wasn't sure, but thought she go ahead and get back in line. So, I approached the pharmacist, Stephanie, and said, "excuse me, if I've already waited in line and my rx was not ready do I have to wait in line again?" She had a horrible look on her face, like I was speaking a language she did not understand, and sarcastically said, while throwing her hands in the air, "I have no idea what your asking?" So, I repeated myself. She asked sarcastically, "Did I just call your name?" I said, "Yes" again, she sarcastically replied, "then I suggest you get back in line!" By this time I was completely over the fact that I even came back to this pharmacy and will never do so again. I work for a large healthcare organization and will be sure to let everyone and any who will listen know that they should not use the CVS pharmacy on Fletcher Pkwy in El Cajon. In these hard economic times, I would think that retail/service oriented businesses would be worried about customer service, so that they do not loose what customers they currently have. This CVS Pharmacy sucks!! They are lucky I gave them 1 star... read more
