Went in to CVS located at 600 N. Mannheim, Hillside, IL today Friday, December 29, 2023 to purchase a birthday card and a gift card. The CVS has a nice selection of birthday cards and gift cards. I went to the cashier for assistance accessing the ladies bathroom. The ladies bathroom is dirty and needs to be cleaned. The floor and toilets were filthy. I had a cold so I was miserable... but no one was at the cash register for what seemed like an eternity. Also thought it was odd that the registers were left unattended... The gentleman who rang me out was not very nice and personable. It was an okay experience. read more

I am having a bad experience at this place I think I'm going to move to Walgreens because they told me my doctor denied my medication, but when I called the nurse she said no one never called in for my medication. They lied and said they did called they didn't know why I was denied. Don't mess with this place I don't recommend get away if you can because this CVS doesn't care about people life. read more

On Saturday afternoon of May 1, 2021, Martin Slowinski CVS Pharmacist, on duty at the Hillside CVS, REFUSED to ring up my medication and sell it to me! Consequently, he WITHHELD my medicine and the other four CVS pharmacy workers just stood by, obeyed Martin Slowinski, and complied with his order; it was appalling and surreal almost like Martin and his team had their knee on my neck; I had no options. Regardless of my persistence with the store manager, Martin Slowinski refused to ring up my medication. I was too afraid to call the police for protection, so I walked out. Martin Slowinski and I had a disagreement about the poor customer service experience that I received. While he supported the worker, who had trouble remembering 6-digits, and she asked me three times, in a row, he attacked me for being impatient, and he didn't apologize for my inconvenience. It was clear to me that the worker was not properly trained. Afterward, I tried to explain to Martin how he made me feel, yet he persisted to devalue me and invalidate my customer experience. Is it legal to withhold a customer's prescription medication due to white fragility, spite, and privilege?!! Furthermore, the entire pharmacy team on duty, May 1, 2021, was at fault because of Martin's "White Privilege" (The unquestioned choice he bestowed on me because he is white.) The toxic situation was humiliating and traumatic for me. In fact, I didn't sleep well Saturday night and on Sunday morning, I woke up emotionally drained and mentally reliving the emotional shock and embarrassment. Martin Slowinski and I had a disagreement about what constituted friendly customer service when I encountered a pharmacy worker who was unable to process/understand the information that I was speaking. Martin made all kinds of excuses for the worker who could not recall the information that I had given her three times in a row. Yet, Martin wasn't an ally; instead, he decided to attack me for my impatience but never apologized for the inconvenience that I had experienced. He was totally unconscious about the implicit bias that he was exhibiting towards me, a person of color, and an elder. Martin Slowinski CVS Pharmacist at the Hillside store should face equally humiliating and unprecedented consequences for his neglect, cruelty, and discrimination. He should not merely get a slap on the wrist. In contrast, he and the entire CVS Hillside pharmacy team should endure sensitivity training for their microaggressions and for their lackluster customer service and poorly trained staff. I will never step foot inside of the Hillside CVS store again, and I will discontinue my prescription services. I caution other marginalized groups to be aware. No employee who works in medicine should feel so privileged and empowered to casually deny a person's medication. It is uncivilized and un-American. I am forwarding a copy of this review to the CVS Corporate office, and I pray that it reaches the attention of Mr. David Dorman, Chairman, and Mr. Larry Merlo, CEO. No human being should feel empowered to behave like Martin Slowinski and the entire pharmacy staff who have a fiduciary duty to uphold quality services to patients. They must be dealt with, or they may feel emboldened to continue to behave in this unfortunate manner endangering the lives of people. My rating for the Hillside pharmacy team is double zeros!! Martin Slowinski and his pharmacy team are a liability for the CVS Corporation. I will consult with my attorney about this matter. read more

Just your regular chain pharmacy, with the same offers as any other CVS around. I'm not a big fan but in an emergency, you will find most of what you need. Nowadays it seems like Pharmacies are becoming more like regular stores with cosmetics, food, and cameras stuff. I guess that the good old days when pharmacies only carried medicines are gone. read more

Rude, impolite and incompetent staffs at least on Mondays and Thursdays, the only days I dealt with them. I transferred my prescriptions on Monday at 2:00 PM, I was told by the pharmacist assistant, they will contact me within half an hour. By Thursday they still could not see my prescription on my file neither by the 4:00 PM pharmacist assistant, who hung-off on me in the middle of conversation, nor the pharmacist who had no clue what prescriptions I had in my file. Save yourself a headache and go to Walmart, they neither have any talent how to treat the customers nor have curtesy how to treat them. No wonder why they are graded less than three!!!? read more
