It's slim pickings as far as pharmacies go in Hollywood, and sadly this may be the best of the bunch. And that's not saying much. I dread coming here and always try to work it out so I can use the drive thru to get an RX when sick. The inventory here is lame. They never seem to have the right shampoos or hair products. Their baby care department is thin. The cosmetics always seem to be open and used. They have revamped the store a couple of times since I've lived in the area and it still looks old and sad. Be careful in the parking lot too. Lots and lots of homeless people. Drugs deals going down. Seems to attract all kinds of trouble. Buyer beware. read more

I live in between 2 CVS pharmacies,in Hollywood, & they couldn't be more different,like night & day.Today,I went to the one at 1747 N.Cahuenga Blvd.,which is a nightmare.I just had surgery on my nose,needed to purchase a certain type of nasal wash,&,also,needed to ask how to use it.The African woman who runs the pharmacy there,is always rude to me,doesn't like to answer my questions,keeps me waiting forever."Forever"is an exaggeration,to be sure,but,she kept me waiting for a good,long time,while she typed.She could've answered me,but,whenever I would start to ask a simple question,she would sharply say,"I'M BUSY!WAIT!"Finally,she told me to squirt into each nostril.That was it.Then,the rotund(white) girl who rang my purchases up,which involved liters of Pepsi,as well,didn't want to put my stuff into the bag.As I said,I just had surgery,am a little weak.Horrible service.The other CVS,on Hollywood Blvd.,is the polar opposite,as I noted,above.Their pharmacy is quietly efficient,w/great service. This is the literal worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Every single time I go there I have an issue. I have never had a smooth transaction at this location - they have given me incorrect Rx medication, incorrect quantities of medication, and I am frequently charged different amounts for the same thing I pick up each month. Unless you HAVE to use this place - do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. The extra 5 minutes you have to drive to next closest pharmacy will ultimately save you time and frustration. read more

Thank you to the Store Manager for trying to make this better. When I went home I thought of ways you can help this co-worker improve. Dear Maria, Please educate yourself on your customer demographic. You should be a reflection of your store manager and coworkers who all had to apologize on your behalf. You should learn from them and prevent such an unnecessary messy outcome. Young women of color are a large majority of your sales and discriminating against them is never okay and will affect your business. Learn what a tote bag is! Tote bags are shopping bags made from recyclable material for shopping. That means when people go shopping they take their tote bags with them, which is what I had. In case you forgot what it looks like, I came in with a tote bag that you told me had to be placed behind the counter for "safety reasons". I glanced around and could already count 3 women with larger bags apparently your "store rules" do not apply to them. Please seek proper training, if you see a customer who keeps circulating around the same area, ASK if they need help, like me I needed help finding a product, that I swear dozens were there yesterday. Finally after you called security on the intercom for the aisle I was the only customer in, one of your co-workers walked by and noticed I was yelping my experience. I was so glad someone FINALLY came by so I could ask if your store still carries the product...which, turns out you had more in the back. Please be humble. I am a SFSU graduate, work in hospitality, exercise 3 times a week, eat healthy, and work as a performing artist. The audacity of you ever thinking someone of my caliber would steal is offensive, especially compared to your overweight, home hair-dyed, and drawn on eyebrows appearance. Please be genuine in your approach. You greeted me, and shortly after I heard you give the sweetest greetings to another customer that actually made me stop and smile. I thought how nice it is to have rare genuine people...just to have you ask me to place my bag in the front because you ask "everyone" to do that and say never-mind just to call security to watch the cameras on the aisle I was in 5 times! I'm baffled you called security on me 5 times! Wow. And still no one asked if I needed help. I'm very disappointed. Overall I am hurt and disappointed in my experience at this CVS location. In my 3 years of living in Los Angeles this is the first time I've ever been treated so poorly. Please reevaluate yourself and not make that mistake again. Thank you. read more

This is a perfectly acceptable CVS for the neighborhood it's in. Yes, there are usually crazy people in here on drugs or what not, but that's not really CVS's fault. The employees are always SO nice, they always greet you as soon as you come in and say thank you when you leave. I have recently begun picking up my prescription here as well and I haven't experienced any problems yet. They always have it ready to go. They have a huge liquor and wine selection and they always have great sales. The only bad thing I have to say is that we recently bought a Christmas tree stand from here, and it was taped shut, like someone returned it. We didn't think anything of it (maybe they didn't want any pieces falling out). When we got home, one of the pieces was missing so it seems someone returned this without all the pieces and then they just put it back on the shelf anyway. :/ read more

Love this CVS! Eric, one of the managers is so nice! The younger one that's always at the front is so nice too! I have never walked into this cvs without being greeted by an employee! That is something you don't forget! Very much appreciated! Everyone is always so sweet and the customer service is great, the blonde girl is always helpful as well. This is the most inconvenient CVS I have been to. They have the most dumbest return policy. You can not return an item if you've bought it the same day from a different CVS location even if you have a receipt. When I was trying to return a lipstick, the manager came up to me and said "we don't sell this brand here"... I was so dumbfounded by her lack of knowledge of the products that they carry in the store she manages at. I had to let her know that they do indeed carry that brand & where it was located. How do you have a manager that is so clueless about the products? Shouldn't a manager be fully aware and knowledgable about the merchandise that's being sold at their location?... I guess it doesn't take much effort or experience to be a manager at a stupid CVS with dumb return policies! read more

The grubbers and panhandlers can be a pain in the ass outside of this CVS and it's all around very sketchy 24/7. Inside though, it's a normal central variety store. The staff is nice and I always find everything okay. My only suggestion would be to get some no loitering signs in front of the place so no one has to cringe and feel uncomfortable before they enter this establishment. read more

Had a really good experience at this pharmacy. Kyle and Ani were both amazing at helping me out, and they are very good at what they do.

NO customer service... Went in here and bought a bunch of stuff. Then, before leaving needed to use the restroom. Went to the back of the store and found the restroom. It was locked. Asked a staff person to enter the code for me on the door so that I could use the restroom. She said restrooms are CLOSED. I said, "wait a second, I am a paying customer that just spent over $50 in this store and you won't let me use the bathroom? What kind of customer service is that? She said that bathroom is only open when Pharmacy is open and closed the rest of the time NO EXCEPTIONS no matter how much money you spent. Next time, I'll go to a drug store that RESPECTS THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! read more

Love this cvs. Perfect for what it is, a medium sized store with almost everything you need, but the fact that it is open 24/7 is what makes it so clutch in those late night situations. Always well stocked and the customer service is always impeccable, even at 2 in the morning when the employees are having to deal with 75% of their customers being drunk coming off Hollywood blvd. Only gave it 4 stars because like I said they have *almost* everything you need and I have had some not so perfect experiences with the pharmacy, but they were minor enough that I don't think it warrants going into detail because the positive to negative experience ratio is 20:1. Now stop reading yelp and go get yourself a blue gatorade, some ice cream and watch a group of drunk tourists try to befriend everyone waiting in line. read more

Unfortunately though there are no negative stars for the CVS pharmacy on Cahuenga Boulevard. CVS pharmacy has lost my prescription at least four times. I actually got a phone call for a confirmation of my prescription 2 days ago on December 27, 2016. A pharmacist named Lauren assured me my prescription was in and I repeated the name of my prescription because of this ongoing issue three times. She assured me again I just went over to the pharmacy tonight and lo and behold my prescription is not there I spoke with a woman who is saying she is the manager. Her name is Beatrice I've never seen this woman before. I've been a customer there for the past three years. Understandable if she is new but she claimed she has been there for quite a whileShe proceeded to tell me there is no prescription there for me. I then spoke with a very nice gentleman named Jeremy who again said there is no prescription there for me. this is the most undependable pharmacy I have ever encountered just an FYI if you need a prescription. Sorry for the harsh words but I am pretty upset right now as I really need this prescription. I will no longer be using this pharmacy I will have to go out of my way to go to a different pharmacy. No one ever tells you that you will have trouble digesting stuff after gallbladder surgery. I looked online for digestive enzymes and this was the only CVS around that carried what I was looking for. Thank God. I've been going to this CVS for a while but have never been late at night. I would suggest going during the day and not at night. There are some super weird and scary people hanging around here. I will give them props for having the medicine I needed when no one else did. read more

We have a mentally challenged brother with lung issues who needs a wide range of medications, but due to his handicap, he sometimes needs a dosage for an adult-sized body but a delivery system simple enough for use with a child. The insurers won't always pay for this, which sometimes holds up purchase and ends up throwing off the supply chain. The staff at Hollywood CVS, especially Ron, have been amazing at advocating for us with the insurances companies, and also, when needed, working hard and going out of their way to make sure he always ends up with the medicine he needs. He used to be hospitalized with lung problems often, but with the help of this CVS and our great lung doctor, only once in the last 10 years. read more

This has been, by far, the most difficult pharmacy I've ever dealt with. They cancel refills, they tell me to pick up medication- I show up and they say it's 'on order' so I've wasted a trip there. On EVERY medication - they've, at one time or another, said I need my Dr to authorize a refill only to find I have 2 or 3 left. My Doctor is frustrated with them, too. The last straw happened today when this CVS called my doctor & confused me with another patient. CVS called to tell me I wasn't taking this medication anymore. A medication I've been taking for five years- showing 2 refills left. Yet they call my Doctor anyway, confuse me with another patient who ISN'T taking my medication and then call me to say I need my Doctor to authorize more refills. Stay far away from these people! They will put your health in jeopardy. I'm switching pharmacies immediately. read more

I use this cvs because it's the closest one to me. There are a few people that work here that I adore & are always helpful. Bryan is awesome! He always says hi & wants to help. The store is not safe because of its location. My Favorite employee got a black eye & beat up for trying to stop someone who was stealing. My heart truly breaks for him. That is terrible & should not be accepted or happening in a work place. Beyond the thefts I've seen happen while I was there, there is a younger black guy who works in the pharmacy. I had to remind him that my meds are private & not to be yelled about. I was super embarrassed because he was not being discreet at all & I had a word with him so since I did he's not done that to me again.. thank god. I'm pretty sure he's an assistant so I would avoid him helping you if possible. Everyone else is extremely delightful! The white male pharmacist has always helped & acknowledges me when I'm in line. He always helps as fast as he can when he is there. The women pharmacists are amazing too! Always helping as fast as they can & discreetly. If it weren't for those two experiences happening I would give five stars. Just a heads up it's not in the safest neighborhood so the madness kind of comes with the territory. read more

Sometimes they accept my ID, sometimes they don't. This CVS did, but then the cops showed up and I had to get out of there.

This used to be my go-to pharmacy until someone obviously in corporate headquarters decided to slash all the staff and leave very people to run the store. It's one of the busiest pharmacies in Hollywood. So why do they have only two people running it? My wife and I had 102-degree fevers and we waited for our Tamaflu meds for over ONE HOUR. They neglected to tell us--even though they had our phone number--that they only had one supply, so one of us had to leave empty handed. They also neglected to mention that we could have used a coupon to slash the price by half, which we learned from the Walgreen's down the street--thank you Walgreen's --when we picked up the other Tamaflu meds--which only took us 15 minutes. I noticed that they even got rid of more register workers so that it's almost 100% self-check out, which is not great, since most people who shop there are buying alcohol, which is a no-go for self check out. In addition, I'd advise not visiting after hours. This place is very sketchy at night and the crime rate in Hollywood has increased dramatically. You are much better off at Walgreens down the road at Sunset and Vine. read more

There is almost always a line here at night, so plan on waiting for 5 minutes but they always have some type of beer on sale. I've got 18packs of Bud Light for 9.99 and they also have cheap horrible wine and it's only 5.00 for 2 bottles. I wouldn't recommend the wine unless it's all you can afford. The club next door valets their cars in the parking lot at night, and they are usually a couple good looking people in the store coming from the club or going to. Not why I go there but it is a nice touch. lol. If you live int he area and buy alcohol, this place is arcoss the street from the liquir store, and about 3.00 cheaper a 12 pack. That is basically what I use the store for. read more

VERY unpleasant experience here, i went from shopping here once a week at the least, but now I will NOT spend any more money here again. I came in to shop one night a couple weeks ago, while I was there I went to ask the security guard a question at which point he first made an accusation that I was trying to walk out the door with my basket of stuff, which absolutely was not what I was doing, then he followed that with accusing me of shoplifting and putting store items in my bag, so I opened my bag and showed him, then even after he looked through it and saw that he was clearly wrong he STILL didn't apologize, IN FACT he continued to give me a terrible attitude, at which point I said, forget it I'm not spending my money here, I will spend my money elsewhere, so I set my items down and proceeded to walk out, during which he continued talking trash to me the whole way out the door. It was very uncalled for and unwarranted. I don't everplan on ever going back to this CVS! read more

I have been coming to this CVS store ever since it was opened in the area. It has been such a disappointment lately. The quality of customer service has deteriorated; the items I come to get are almost never on the shelves. But what was the final straw for writing this review is an episode that just happened last week, and almost got my child traumatized. I came in to get a refill at the pharmacy, and while waiting in the line my daughter said that she needed to use the restroom. The call for customer service to open the restroom's door was placed three times over the speaker. 5 minutes... Not a single response. We've waited, and waited. The kid really needed to use the restroom, so I went up to the front to ask them in person to open the restroom's door. I was told that the customers are not allowed to use the restroom. What is the point of having the restroom for the customers if it's locked and they are not allowed to use it? I wasn't asking for myself, but for a child who was about to have an embarrassing accident. I WAS a paying a customer, and I have been for years. But this kind of unreasonable rudeness makes you lose your customers. I didn't catch the name of the woman who refused to open the restroom for a child, but she was behind a counter, maybe a cashier, or maybe even a manager. I had to run with my daughter elsewhere, because she really needed to use the bathroom. I will be transferring my prescription out of this store. Shame on you, CVS for putting a child through such a miserable experience! read more

Pharmacy has the worst most ignorant staff. Spent 30 mins waiting for a car in front of the car in front of me. Person in front of me took forever. I got up to the window thinking it would be quick, that's the point of a drive thru pharmacy. When I got to the window I realized why it took so long. If I wasn't completely out of a daily medication I would have transferred my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Signing up for home delivery as this is the only cvs around me. read more

This is the BEST CVS in the city. I encountered a very knowledgeable, friendly and eager to answer my questions employee, when I called this evening looking for a particular sunscreen face lotion. Armen, the Customer Service Representative, informed me within a minute of the call, that the item was in stock, was looking at it and gave me the price. I was elated that first of all they had the item, and how nice and helpful Armen was. I informed him that I would be there to get the item. When I arrived, I spoke to Stacey, the Manager, and informed her I had spoken to Armen. She went to speak with Armen who was at one of the checkout stands and he had a printout of the item in question including the price ready for Stacey. Talk about being on top of things. She guided me to the aisle where the sunscreen was and in the fog of being assisted like never before at a CVS Pharmacy, (I had earlier called the CVS in Glendale Blvd, and Manager, Franklin told me that he was too busy to look up the item and he could not guarantee a call back) I picked up the body lotion instead of the face lotion. I realize that when I got home and I again called Armen, who calmly stated to bring the item back and he would do an even exchange. When I got to the store, Armen along with Stacey were very helpful and did the exchange in a matter of a few minutes. This is an example of a well run store, where management knows the importance of treating customer with respect, listening to their needs and inquiries and being nice and friendly. Stacey and Armen both get 10 stars!! Although this store is a little farther from Silverlake where I reside, I will never set foot at any other CVS but this one! read more

Not too sure what to review this CVS. Love that it's a hop, skip and jump away from my house. But I hate that it get's filled to the brim with crackheads late nights and weekends. It's a little bizzare. But the store is great, they usually have what I am looking for in a pharmacy/convenience store. The cashiers are sometimes as bizzare as the customers, so that makes the 20 person deep line worth the wait. :) read more
