The extra star is solely because this location is open 24 hours and is too convenient location wise for me to not use. This CVS has the single most inept pharmacy and pharmacy employees I have ever had the displeasure to encounter. They will notify you that a prescription is ready for refill, and then you'll show up and they won't have any idea what you're talking about, what your prescription even is, or they'll be out of it. There is one young Hispanic guy in particular that works here who just has absolutely no idea what he's doing. If I go to the drive through and see that he's working, I just come back later so I don't end up punching him in the face. Getting birth control refilled here is a nightmare, even if it's generic. It's fucking birth control, not plutonium. It's not that hard to get. Oh and just contact your doctor directly for refill requests. These dipshits have no clue how to use a phone, evidently. Brown-haired pharmacist-I think her name might be Romona- is great. Really nice. The blonde haired female pharmacist is AWFUL. So rude and sarcastic. I just went to pick up a prescription and she was mumbling at me standing out of my line of sight so I couldn't even see her too, so I said "I'm sorry, I'm confused" and she said (rude, abrupt, heavily sarcastic tone) "there's no need to be confused" and then was super dismissive. Horrible experience when I'm just trying to get my medication. Should have been easy and pleasant transaction. read more

This place has literally one shopping cart and two plastic shopping trolleys. If you need more than two medium sized items (two packs of soft drinks, or two large packages of toilet paper), but you can only carry two, you're out of luck. I've never been able to buy what I needed here because there's no way to carry it. I've ALWAYS walked out without things I wanted to buy because I just couldn't carry it, without any carts or baskets. And the checkout is a confusing maze of dividing straps that opens out into self checkout and ends at the cashiers, but none of the customers ever seem to be able to figure out where to enter the line or how to get to the self checkout vs the cashiers. So there's always a line of people waiting behind the dividers watching other clueless patrons cutting ahead to go straight to the cashiers. Everyone gets angry, and nothing happens in an orderly manner. A few simple changes would make this store so much better. read more

This CVS has some issues with the employees. The people who work the register really must have bad lives because they are always in the worst mood. The pharmacy lady treated me very poor. I had to refill my ADD medication and she treated me like I was some sort of drug user who is addicted. I dropped off my prescription and came back an hour later. She told me that my prescription had a minimum hour hold because it was ADD medication. I told her that it had already been an hour but I would wait longer. I think that made her made because I ended up waiting another 45 minutes for this to get filled. On top of that when I went to use my insurance she said they couldn't accept it and I had to pay cash. I went to another CVS in the Valley and they accepted my insurance and didn't say anything about a one hour hold on prescriptions. One thing that is good about this location is that they have a huge parking lot that always has open spots to use. I would advice people to go here during the day because it gets kind of sketchy at night. There is a lot of people who make you feel uneasy and will ask you for change. read more

Seems like this place got all ship-shape on us in the last year, daannng! And they remodeled adding a "fresh healthy foods" section so if I come here hungry I am less likely to succumb to my desire to buy crunchy cheetos and chili-cheeze fritos and mix them like a nom-nom monster. Place isn't "dangerous" as described, but you are guaranteed to be in for some entertainment, either in the form of celeb-spotting (Uncle Andy from Weeds *drool*) or crazy-peep-watching (that pink lady Angelyne). I go out of my way to come to this one because they're always stocked and organized, while the other one near me is annoyingly out of stuff all the time. Before going further, I've never used their pharmacy. This review is just about the rest of what they offer. I have always found the place to be clean, the prices competitive and the staff helpful. I go during the day, so I can't speak for what it might be like late at night (other reviewers have complained about shady people outside). What I've experienced is plenty of parking, fast checkout (there's self-service, if you're in a rush), and a lot of advertised-specials that have save me $. I am so surprised after this CVS got remodeled. I hadn't been for a while but now they have an entire refrigerated section. Okay every food item is overpriced. Very over priced. I've lived in the neighborhood for 5 years, and unfortunately this CVS location only seems to get worse with age. After the remodel it might even be WORSE than it used to be. Whenever I go 2 out of 5 or more "self check" out stands actually work, so the check-out lines are horrific. Worse than that is the clientele that comes in here. Ladies, this is NOT a safe place to enter alone at night. I'm not joking. My boyfriend doesn't let me go here alone after dark, it is that bad. There is a constant rotation of beggars, crack heads and just general sketchers outside the store. I've actually seen people openly steal from the store. Just walk out the door with booze and cigarettes and diapers with seemingly no consequences. The sad part is the staff is actually really nice. The security guards always friendly (I can even tell they keep an eye on me if I'm alone and the crowd looks sketchy). Why do I continue to go? Just pure convenience, but it's getting to the point that I'll have to find a new, overpriced pharmacy to go to where I at least won't get mugged in the parking lot. read more

24hrs makes it very convenient. They have pretty much everything you need as far as regular items are concerned, but prices are a lot more than you're local Target. If it's an emergency this would be the place to come. Customer service is sub-par, and the lines for the cashiers could get pretty busy at times. Other than that it's A-OK. You know, I would not normally rate or recommend a pharmacy, but this place has been exceptionally good to me. I live right down the street and am here more often than I'd like to admit to pick up everyday supplies. Every single time I am here someone greets me with a smile at the door and I am always asked if I need help finding something. They love animals here and even said hello to my cute puppy. The manager Eric (at least that's what his name tag says) is quite possibly the nicest store employee I have ever encountered in my life. What everyone says about the shady people is true. But hey! - this is Hollywood and I find the whole circus show highly entertaining. I would say never park here if you plan to leave the premises. I see someone get towed pretty much every time I'm here. But there are signs everywhere warning about this so I don't really blame the store... read more

I went in with my boyfriend and friend yesterday afternoon, we split up to find stuff my boyfriend was looking for and I was towards the back when I noticed one of the female employees, short brown hair, pretty sure she was white, harassing a young African American male who was simply waiting for his friend who was in the bathroom. I stopped and watched in case anything happened as she continued to accuse him of sketchy behavior and threatening to call security. Which she did. When she walked passed me she smiled and said hi like nothing happened. The two men left, clearly upset for being wrongly racially profiled simply for being black. I shop here every so often, its a crazy location. But one thing I can't stand is the way the cashiers are treated by not only the asshole customers but also their supervisors. A long while ago I was there, with just one employee manning the front. He was trying to help a woman at the self checkout rather than at the register. The woman started yelling at him out of nowhere, angry that she wanted to use the register and that he was too lazy to do so. Although he remained calm and tried to help her, the woman became beligerant and started yelling personal, homophobic insults at him, which was creating a scene. By that time 2 women, I assume whom were managers by the way they were dressed, started checking people out at the registers. They saw what was going on as the woman continued to shout at the guy, yet did not intervene.I could tell he was becoming flustered. After the crazy woman left, one manager who looked pretty mad pulled the employee to the side, asking what had happened and why did he allow that/not request a supervisor to help. She had no concern for him what so ever, as if it was his fault some pyscho was flipping out over nothing, All while watching it and not doing a thing about it. I'm not sure if he ended up getting in trouble but the fact they totally didnt care about him essentially being sexually harrassed and insulted is totally disgusting. I've worked corporate retail before and I know from personal experience those companies dont give a shit about their low level employees. TBH, I felt bad for not saying something to them about what really happened. read more

The staff is always changing every so often,,but the Good thing are the "Celeb" who I have seen there shopping.. From the late Doris Roberts, Ru-Paul, Ray J aka (Kim Kardashian=ex,Brandy's brother) etc from t.v,music & movie's... This store sell's out on bottled fast.. Why are all drug stores in the Hollywood area the epicenter for the lowest common denominator of people? This review is for the Pharmacy and specifically for an employee named JESSICA that should be FIRED!! I went to pick up my prescription at the drive thru window and she said there was nothing there under my name. This went on for a while until she said come into the store and I will show you that there is only one medication listed under your profile and it's not what you are asking for. So I come into the store and have to wait in line all over again. She then tells me there is no prescription for the medicine I am asking for even though I told her I come her every month to get this medication and that I know it's ready cause CVS called me to tell me the order was ready for pick up. I offered maybe she was typing some info in wrong and gave her my ID so she could double check the spelling of my name. This went nowhere. She wanted to me to just walk away without the medicine I really need. I asked for her to page a supervisor. No one came. She starting yelling at me saying that I must be confused and that she can't just give me medicine "like candy that I don't have a prescription for". Like I'm either some delusional person or creep trying to get random meds. After about 20 min another pharmacist walked up and I asked her to help me. She found the right profile and my medicine within 30 seconds saying Jessica was spelling my name wrong. Jessica offered no liability or apology of any kind. The guy waiting in line behind me said the same pharmacist, Jessica, screwed him over in the past too messing things up. Once I got my medication I went searching for the supervisor that never showed up. A store employee directed me to him and the supervisor was setting up Christmas decorations! Are Christmas decorations really more important than customer service?? I love that while mayhem goes down at the Pharmacy counter the paged supervisor is too busy hanging ribbon. Worst customer service ever! I truly hope this review is read by CVS and aids in the firing of your Pharmacist Jessica at this Cahuenga location. She is a miserable incompetent mean person that withholds medication from patients due to her own failure to spell a name even when given the patient's ID. read more

Normally I wouldn't give such a poor Yelp review, but being in retail and being customer service oriented basically my whole life, it irks me when I receive poor service. Took my prescription to this particular CVS (cahuenga) and went to use my coupon from GoodRX. The woman helping me (didn't catch her name. Shorter, maybe Armenian, long dark hair, looked to be in her mid to late 20s) claimed she had the same coupon on my account. My total, with said coupon, would have made my prescription $58. She proceeded to tell me I owed $155. After going back and forth for a minute, I gave up. She wouldn't try typing in the coupon code I had on my phone, wouldn't give me a straight answer nor any details as to why the price was somehow over $100, especially if she has the same coupon on file. Being in retail, we would have done whatever we could to either have an answer, or accommodate. She clearly didn't care and came off as lazy. Took my prescription back and went across town to Walgreens. The gentleman at the pharmacy helped me out and even accommodated for the trouble the woman caused me at CVS even though Walgreens wasn't the one to cause the issue. Obviously I'll be taking my business to Walgreens from here on out. read more

This is the worst pharmacy in the world and every time I go there out of convenience (it's near my house) I swear to never go back again. They have done everything from filling my 30 pill rx with 11 pills for some unknown reason, to calling me to say my refill is ready only to not have it ready (this happens often), to having one employee say she called my dr and my rx is good to go to arriving and having another employee say there's no record of it. 99% of the people who work in the pharmacy are complete morons and must be on some temporary contract because there is always a rotating cast of characters, none of whom seem to care about doing their job well. read more

This review is primarily about their photo processing. Passport photos: They charge $11.99 for 2 photos. This is insane. If you pay this you are crazy. Download the app called ID PhotoPrint and take a pic of yourself, it will email you a 4" x 6" photo with 6 copies of your print on there. Then go to CVS and print out one of these photos for only a few cents. That's what I did as I don't like to be ripped off. The staff are nice and friendly, the location is fine. The parking lot could do with being a little cleaner but is ok. The lines are sometimes long inside. It would be great if they had some healthier choices in the food section but they are what they are. read more

This Pharmacy has failed repeatedly so many times it flabergasts me. They have dropped the ball on receiving faxes from my vet as well as when I personally call and talk to someone and ask to get the med authorization from the vet. They have the number in the system and still ask me for it plus for two years one of the medicines has been the same and they still can't seem to remember my face and it's for my cat. I live in between 2 CVS pharmacies,in Hollywood, & they couldn't be more different,like night & day.Today,I went to the one at 1747 N.Cahuenga Blvd.,which is a nightmare.I just had surgery on my nose,needed to purchase a certain type of nasal wash,&,also,needed to ask how to use it.The African woman who runs the pharmacy there,is always rude to me,doesn't like to answer my questions,keeps me waiting forever."Forever"is an exaggeration,to be sure,but,she kept me waiting for a good,long time,while she typed.She could've answered me,but,whenever I would start to ask a simple question,she would sharply say,"I'M BUSY!WAIT!"Finally,she told me to squirt into each nostril.That was it.Then,the rotund(white) girl who rang my purchases up,which involved liters of Pepsi,as well,didn't want to put my stuff into the bag.As I said,I just had surgery,am a little weak.Horrible service.The other CVS,on Hollywood Blvd.,is the polar opposite,as I noted,above.Their pharmacy is quietly efficient,w/great service. This is the literal worst pharmacy I have ever been to. Every single time I go there I have an issue. I have never had a smooth transaction at this location - they have given me incorrect Rx medication, incorrect quantities of medication, and I am frequently charged different amounts for the same thing I pick up each month. Unless you HAVE to use this place - do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. I don't want to get too down on this specific location because I've had problems with every CVS pharmacy I've even used but I come to this location the most so I've had the most issues here. My insurance plan only covered CVS pharmacies for a while or I wouldn't have come back past the first time. They consistently don't have my order ready hours after it was supposed to be filled or the refill request just didn't go through or the computer system is totally down and they can't fill anything (or call to tell you not to make the trip even). I have new insurance and I've transferred all but one rx to walgreens. I tried to refill the remaining one today since I would be closer to this CVS anyway. The app just wouldn't verify the order with no explanation so I called in and was told that they don't have that rx in stock and would have to order it. When I asked if any other pharmacies in the area had it the woman told me that I would have to call around and see. I asked if she could look that up and she said the inventory wasn't connected and she couldn't call around at this time so I should just call other locations myself. I tried a couple other locations on the app and had the same lack of verification or information so I called back to have my prescription transferred to walgreens. A different woman told me that the walgreens would have to call them but their pharmacist was on lunch and no one else could do the transfer so I would have to wait an hour until they could make that call. Now that I don't have to I won't fill anything at a CVS pharmacy again. Like I said it seems to be the company as a whole and not just this specific location. If you have the choice I would go anywhere else. read more

I dread coming here and always try to work it out so I can use the drive thru to get an RX when sick. The inventory here is lame. They never seem to have the right shampoos or hair products. Their baby care department is thin. The cosmetics always seem to be open and used. They have revamped the store a couple of times since I've lived in the area and it still looks old and sad. Be careful in the parking lot too. Lots and lots of homeless people. Drugs deals going down. Seems to attract all kinds of trouble. Buyer beware. read more
