I've bought thousand upon thousands of dollars from CVS, specifically the one on Cahuenga. The reason I liked shopping there was because their open 24/7. For someone who doesn't work a 9-5 job but has their own business, the time that I do my shopping is at night when there are less people, less traffic and more peaceful. And also because I don't have time during the day. I was at my local CVS, shopping for every day things that a person would need. At 12:30am a gentleman by the name is Robert came up to me and very rudely and aggressively started telling me that CVS has a rule where you can only shop for 30 minutes after 12am. NEVER in my 25 years of shopping at CVS have I been told this. I like taking my time, going isle to isle getting what I need. That takes time. I compare prices etc. whatever So this extremely ignorant Robert continues to harass me, belittle me, insult me when I asked him several times if he worked there. He was wearing plain clothes and looked like a shopper. When I first asks him if he worked there he said no. But continued to tell me what to do. I kept asking him if he worked there because who the fuck was he to tell me what's up. He ended up telling me he was not on the clock. I asked his name in which he refused to give it to me. So basically I'm supposed to get intimidated by this loud mouth bully and do whatever he says when he's not staff. So I went to the front register to pay for my stuff. I told Robert that I would never come here again and he said "man we don't need your $37". My receipt was for $250. The lady at the register tells me his name, Robert, and that he's a security guard there. It was his day off and he was randomly walking around the store, policing people. Everything would have been fine if someone in CVS uniform came to tell me that they had a 30 minute rule after 12am. Fine. I didn't know. I would comply. But because Robert intimidated me, insulted me, gave me an insane amount of attitude and was rude as fuck I felt the need to let everybody on Yelp and Google know what a shit show that store is. Worst customer service. Worst and dumbest people that work there that make countless mistakes. One example of their stupidity: I bought $800 worth of stuff from CVS. I came home and realized it didn't match my theme of what I was doing for work. I went to that CVS to return the stuff. Receipt in hand. The cashier started scanning all the items as if I was BUYING THEM AGAIN and not returning them. I put in my credit card thinking this is what I'm getting back into my card. Made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for a drive-in PCR test for travel. Arrived and waited in a line in the drive-through pharmacy, and when I arrived at the front of the line 5 minutes past my appointment time, I was informed that they stopped doing tests 10 minutes ago despite the fact that I had an appointment. Then I was told by the same guy that everyone was actually at lunch and I could try again in 30 minutes to see if they could squeeze me in. What the bloody crap is that process?! I've been shopping on and off at this location for about 9 years. I would be remiss if I didn't give it the praise it deserves. My only regret is that it has taken me so long to write one! I was once again reminded of how good the staff generally is here despite the location*. I had a semi-complicated transaction that was handled smoothly, efficiently, and kindly. I accidentally got the wrong allergy medicine that includes pseudoephedrine while I was picking up a prescription over the weekend. I got home and realized, duh, that's why it was behind the counter. Totally my mistake - I was in a rush and distracted from the heat. I thought I could make the return, as did another associate on the floor, at the regular register but once at the front check out I realized I couldn't. But instead of get frustrated, Greg (who I believe is a manager) patiently explained that he'd walk me to the pharmacy area to make sure the return happened. And not just that, but I had to purchase an item and the machine wasn't accurately scanning my coupons. He made sure to manually enter them and when he couldn't get them to work that way, he figured out another workaround. He stayed focused but friendly the whole time despite how bad I felt about it. And indeed, he walked me back personally and stayed to make sure the return went through. Thank you to the folks at the pharmacy register for making the return happen even though they were swamped. He walked me back to the front of the store on my way out too! He balanced being professional and personable at all times. *Honestly, the area around this CVS is a wild one. I know because I used to live a couple blocks from it years ago. Between the tourist, rowdy locals, and people spilling over from the nightlife, it's a lot to handle. But so many of their employees handle situations with grace and a healthy sense of humor. Even the security guard and store greeter never fail to acknowledge me when I walk in no matter how busy it is. I've been treated well no matter what time of day (it's a 24 hour location) I've gone in too. To be fair- they do try their very best. Especially Anhi. She is the manager and honestly has the best customer service and always remains calm, friendly, and composed despite the obvious burden of being smack dab in the middle of Hollywood amidst an ever growing opioid crisis and surge in homelessness and growing encampments nearby. . This pharmacy is always so inundated. They simply are too busy for the amount of business they receive. Being so short staffed its bound to happen that they are going to make an error or fall short sometimes. One can only imagine the height of stress driven situations that the staff here must go through each shift. I mean- have they been perfect every time with my meds - No they havent. Have I been less than satisfied in those moments- yes of course- but realistically considering the grime they show up to everyday at work- I cannot blame them. I have also had great experiences too so it is not always bad. Yes I have also been placed on hold only to be hung up on over and over again- but to be fair when it comes to filling meds or answering questions on the phone- obviously filling meds is more important. Not defending this practice but I am saying put yourself in their shoes before being harsh. Honestly, it would help them if you found another CVS. Spread the love -as this is not the only pharmacy in LA but yet it gets the bulk population of Los Angeles coming to them. For starters, I'm aware that this CVS may experience difficult customers and/or may deal with theft, as there's always security standing at the entrance, however, this has nothing to do with the lacking customer service and hospitality that this location has. I asked an employee, "excuse me, can you please open the locked toothpaste for me?" He rolls his eyes and says, "Can I finish what I'm doing first?" I look at him puzzled as he was dead serious. He then walks over and says, "well I'm not going to give it to you, you can pick it up at the front. That's our policy. If you have a problem with our policy you can speak to a manager they will be here in the morning. I don't have a problem with you that's just our protocol. A lot of people steal here and they're cracking down" (THIS IS NO EXAGGERATION) I replied "I didn't ask you all that, I simply asked if you can open the locked cabinet for me, but good to know" I then asked how long this was policy and he replied 6 months. I go to this location frequently, and always have the cabinets unlocked for items whether it be, nasal sprays, toothpaste etc. but that's besides the fact. I'll call it like it is, I didn't have a suit in like when I get off work, I had on shorts and a tank top and happen to be black, so he assumed I was a thief. Today Jae Singleton took great care of me in pharmacy. What I thought would be a long process, he made it effortless and easy. I usually like everyone at this CVS but I just really appreciate how Jae handle my case. He took the time to explain to me the mix up with my RX over the phone and he told me to bring in my insurance card to make sure we did it right. What I thought would be a grueling morning, the next day when I arrived to pick up my RX, to my surprise, Jae Singleton was there. I gave him my first name and then he said, "oh, I spoke to you yesterday, I took care of your RX last night after we spoke and squared away everything with your insurance company and you are all set!" Omgoodness, I expected to be there for an hour at least! Not knowing that Jae took care of me last night when he could've done something else. I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU JAE! If I could give negative stars for this pharmacy I would. I was forced to switch to them from Walgreens and I've never encountered such an incompetent staff. One woman will literally lie to you to save themselves. They have been out of my medication for over a week and don't seem to care about getting it in. I'm not the only one with this issue and it's unacceptable. So don't use this pharmacy if you'd like your MEDICATION on time. They also won't call your previous pharmacy unless you beg them to three times and still will lie to you about getting it in and when they will get it in. Livid. read more

This pharmacy is one of the worse I have ever experienced. I have several prescriptions that I need to take on a daily basis or consequences can be extremely serious. I think only once or twice did I ever get them all together and this in two years. Sometimes they'll have two, sometime 3 and every time I point this out they just shrug their shoulders. I once told them that it was important for me to take all the prescriptions throughout the day, so if they give me 3 instead of 5 I may as well not take any. I go around in circles. The staff couldn't care less. I'm supposed to take Adderall daily to counter the effects of the other drugs but whenever I go there they say they have run out and waiting for a new supply, this has been going on for over 4 months and they tell me the same thing each time. I told them it's their responsibility to fill prescriptions and this is not an excuse, some people are getting their Adderall but not this CVS. I have no idea what the situation is because I know when I call they will tell me their supply has run out. They don't tell me when they are expecting it or that I'll be the first they'll let know, or refer me to a Pharmacy that does have the mediation, I'm prepared to drive a distance to get it rather than this perpetual non service . I'm beyond despair and the medication I need is for anxiety and depression. I tell my therapist that trying to get my prescription from CVS gives me more anxiety than anything else. read more

Everyone at this CVS works very hard to make customers happy. It is quite a 'difficult' location, for those who know what Hollywood is like. Yet all the clerks and the pharmacists are ever so kind, very professional, so helpful. Some people in here complain about not always getting their prescription as requested. I attempted to transfer my prescription from the Hollywood Blvd location to the Cahuenga one because they have a drive-thru. Pharmacy is the worst avoid it! Earlier this week I called in to refill a prescription they told me I had no refills. I was looking at the bottle it said I had one. I read the number told her the last time it was filled she said she saw that and also saw that yes I did have one refill however the computer wouldn't let her fill it. My doctor was out of town I went three days without my medication, as a last resort before heading to urgent care to get a last minute prescription I decided to call once more and someone new answered the phone and filled it no problem. Then this week my doctor sent in another prescription and I got a text saying it was in process. I called the next day to check and he said it will me ready tomorrow. Well tomorrow is now today I called and now the woman on the phone says she has no record of that prescription. Back and forth I was able to confirm with the tech that it was indeed in process yesterday now it has disappeared, another glitch prevent me from getting my prescription again this week. I wouldn't be surprised if they get hit with a class action lawsuit, based on the large number of reviews I've been seeing telling essentially this same story. People's health is on the line and this pharmacy can't seem to perform their service. Incompetence has no place in the healthcare system and this pharmacy is completely incompetent. I've tried switching pharmacies but keep going here because it's a 3 minute walk. I regret this decision every time. Nothing is ever correct, how it should be, or easily rectified. They won't even begin your prescription order until you get there (despite assurances it will) as it should be ready. You will have to wait and you will deal with employees who do not care. A couple of years ago, that same Asian manager, told me that the then security guard, falsely accused me of shoplifting. This is a little of a unique CVS. The people who frequent this store are the typical Hollywood type. Actors, actresses and wannabes. It's also the friendliest one I've ever been in. I'll bypass the one closest to me just to go to this one. Plenty of parking, drive through pharmacy, 24 hours accessibility and genuinely nice people who work there. They always have what I'm looking for and add that personal touch when I'm picking up my antihistamine, they know most regulars by name. I drove there immediately and arrived at the prescription pick up desk at 8:01pm and by the time they got to me it was 8:05 PM. They then told me "sorry we are now closed our system automatically shuts off at 8pm". (FOS). And there was nothing they could do about it. They were completely uncaring and unprofessional. Not easy in a store where the surrounding areas and customers (as I witnessed myself, due to City officials not taking care of our streets in Hollywood the situation and social climate has rapidly declined). In any case, 5 well deserved STARS for Soheila who made sure I got the best deal, even when she had to take a bit extra time, and she is smart, efficient and positive! The Pharmacy is crazy slow. Usually one or two people working which is why. They really need more staff. However, when a pharmacist goes above and beyond for things that arent necessary for a client when five people are waiting isnt too fun either. CVS = Canine Value Store Every time I go to this CVS -- I wish I could go elsewhere, but my current health-insurance provider uses CVS for pharmacy coverage -- there's' at least one dog in the store. And every time I raise this issue with a staff member. The most recent conversation want like this: Me: "why is there a dog in the store? It's illegal under Health & Safety Code § 114259.5." Helpful CVS staff member: "Well, we allow dogs in the store." "So you're saying it's legal? That dog is walking around the food area." "I don't know if it's LEGAL legal, but we allow it." "OK, but just between you and me -- you agree it's not legal." "Well, we allow it." * * * And so on. What's interesting about CVS flouting our state health law is that in general, a pharmacy is entrusted to enforce a whole lot of laws, so that, for instance, people aren't just coming in and buying buckets of Fentanyl. This location is so paranoid. They think everyone that walks through the doors is going to steal. There's constant PA announcements about security checks in every aisle. The lines are long and the two employees are lazy as fuck. And the other two don't give a shit.
