Do not, under any circumstances, use this pharmacy for your medications. I have been in a two month battle with them over one of my meds. I had to go without it for two weeks because of their mess up. Thank God it's not something I need to keep me alive. I'm supposed to get two bottles a month but they keep giving me one. When I talked to my insurance people they told me that the reason has to do with the way CVS checked out my prescription so they had to go in and fix it. I literally had to make ten trips in order to get it taken care of. Several times I've waited in line for 15 to 20 minutes to get to the counter person only to have them tell me I had to speak to the pharmacist where I had to stand in line and wait another 10 to 20 minutes, only to be given one answer and sent back to the counter person, to wait in line again. WhenI spoke to the pharmacist they said I needed to get on the phone with my insurance and I said, "I'm stuck with this because I have to be able to be here when you are working, I'm not working, and the insurance company is open". She assured me she would call them and take care of it. The next day I went in and the first thing she said was "did you call them and take care of it?" It's been a nightmare. She called and said they couldn't help me, so I went home and called the same number and was helped in less than five minutes. I went back and got my meds. I was going to go to another place but on that last call my insurance company assured me everything should be fine now. I went back and they gave me one bottle today and the slip says that it's for an entire month, which is not enough. I explained how that was wrong and the person said, "Well, that's what you had last month". Yeah, because it was wrong! I'm over it. I'm going to talk to my insurance company next time they're open and see how I can transfer to another pharmacy. This has been an absolute nightmare. read more

This pharmacy is a joke. You're better off going to Walgreens. I came in 5 times trying to get a prescription for birth control. The first time, it was when I got off work after 5pm and the rude fake-pharmacist, Nighia (I think that's how you spell it) just didn't feel like doing it then and told me to make an appointment. There's nowhere online to make an appointment for that. I came in during my lunch, I found out there's only ONE person that works there who is authorized to do that. She was having lunch. The last time I came, it was around 3:30pm, the pharmacist was there but apparently they're not even set up in the system to do the prescription. WHY DIDNT THEY SAY THAY THE FIRST TIME?? I gave up my lunches, left work early, and walked there five times. DONT ADVERTISE THAT THIS IS A SERVICE YOU PROVIDE WHEN ITS NOT. read more

CVS Pharmacy - Just so sub-par. C'mon CVS. - Drugstores Near Me - HOLLYWOOD, California

This is my CVS and I've been a customer here for almost 10 years. It's a great store with great employees. The reason for only 4 stars is that CVS recently did a nice expensive remodel, but they forgot one thing...... there is NO space for the cashier check out line. This causes a lot of confusion with lines going down the aisles or wherever people can fit. This improvised customer line can get real long too. How did they not plan a place for people to wait in to buy alcohol? Lets be honest, CVS has the best deals on booze and that's one of the main reasons we go there. You can't purchase alcohol at the automated checkout and you have to see a cashier, yet they made no space for a line. Currently, there's this weird display of junk goods right in front of the automated checkout where a cashier line could go. Who's idea was that? Please fix this CVS, cause it's so annoying that I'm bout ready to switch my patronage and pay the extra $5 for my 12 pack right up the street at Plaboy liquor. read more

Use to come here regularly but today I was told by security that my bag was too big to enter the store?!? Confused because i've taken the same exact bag with me there all the time. Security pointed to a sign that was written in color marker saying "no backpacks". He told me I can leave the bag up front... like i'm going to leave my wallet up front unattended, I don't own a car so I couldn't leave it in there or else I would of because there were things I really needed. read more

Beware of cashiers over charging! I tried to address this today for a pack of cookies that were 1.99 ... I bought one pack for my roommate .. he ate Them _ I didnt think it was a big deal to get my 1.99 back the next time I came in which is every other day. Im a local and spend thousands a year for the last 10 years here! if you are over charged by a cashier you have to bring the item back to show you purchased the item basically bc/ of all the thieves the GOOD PEOPLE get punished as well.... so be clear...dont eat the item or use the item you purchase until you get your 1.99 or whatever back.... so pissed!!!! read more

I usually go to the location on Vine street but happened to go here and they screwed up my refill prescription. They gave me the wrong ones, I didn't realize it until I got home, I went back and they refused to give me the correct one because they said I already picked up my prescription. It turned into a whole ordeal and I wound up having to talk to like four people to finally get the correct medication. I'm only going to Vine from now on. read more

This CVS pharmacy sucks. I'm typing this as I'm in line waiting for a pick up at the counter. I've been standing here almost 20 minutes and the guy working the counter is running around looking like he can't find prescriptions and has been talking NONSTOP with a customer. I would leave 0 stars if I could, I got here 10 mins before they closed the pharmacy which is how long it takes to fill a prescription, I came straight from urgent care so I couldn't get here any sooner, I have a broken knee which I need anti inflammatory for and they could not accommodate me. I despise the stream of coupons I am forced to manage on the back of my receipts. You already have my cell and email where I would easily be able to manage these offers and select which coupons I want added to my card. The paper is a waste and not eco friendly. I've started shopping at the Walgreens on Hollywood Boulevard. No useless coupons, my shopper card tracks rewards and their pharmacy can fill my prescriptions same day. They can find my Drug Coverage and Medical Cards with no problem. Your CVS Pharmacy can't even find me in the system when I hand them the original cards. With the exception of last minute sundry there is no reason to shop there anymore. You can thank Edith Gomez in customer service and this stores Pharmacy for my negative review. DO NOT MAKE A COVID VACCINE APPOINTMENT WITH CVS IF YOU CAN'T ACCOMMODATE CANCELLED APPOINTMENTS WITH NO WARNING IN YOUR SCHEDULE. This isn't a review for the pharmacy team, but the Covid vaccinations process. On site, I was informed that the team had changed their vaccinations to 11 AM onward only. Holding a 10 AM appointment, I was not informed of this change and actually received a text morning of reminding me of my appointment and sending a link to check in once I arrived (at their recommended 5-10 minutes before). Again, not sure if this is the pharmacy's fault, but they're definitely not using a very good distributor. I was told the day before the same issue happened, but clearly nothing was done to inform patients for the following days of this change. For those of you also taking time out of a work day to get vaccinated, I would not recommend using CVS. I was lucky to have flexibility to wait an extra hour, but if you don't, again, do not make your vaccination appointment with CVS! That said, the administrators and pharmacy staff were all so kind. There was nothing particularly great about this CVS or my service but it is open 24 hours a day so I like that a lot. I stopped in to get some water and a snack. I was glad they had a self-checkout, that is always a nice option. They must have a lot of problems with people trying to park here and go walk around because they have signs all over the parking lot warning that your car will get towed if you leave it there. As I was pulling up there was a tow truck pulling away with a car. This made me very nervous as I walked around the store for a few minutes. For all I know they'll just snatch up my car if I'm here shopping too long. read more

Me and my Peeps - we'll pick up a couple of 750ml Grey Goose or Kettle One vodka bottles at $20, fill up the flasks for the afterparty and pound the residual before we get in club. Buy a couple rounds for the ladies and yourself in the club - no problemo! I have a love hate relationship with this CVS :-/ I love it because it's right down the hill from mi casa. I can easily walk over and anything that I would absolutely need from a store of the kind is readily available, no driving necessary. The lines always move fast and the staff is always awesome, even the security guards. The problem is not actually inside the store at all, it's the outside of it. There is always some kind of riff raff outside and I almost always never feel safe walking through the parking lot and up to the front of the store. If I just need adult drinks and not some kind of cleaning or hair product I will most likely walk past this store to the liquor store around the corner just to save myself the stress of walking through the parking lot here. CVS Pharmacy - To the pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - HOLLYWOOD, California

CVS is CVS, but this one seems to attract A LOT of homeless people. Last time I had this man follow me in and then follow me around every aisle every step of the way. I was so weirded out but didn't want to make a scene or confront him, because I hate confrontation (unless I'm drunk) and I wasn't sure if he had a shank made out of McDonald's straws in his overalls or what was going on under there, but the smell was not good, neither was the vibe. I went up to the photo center where I had been waiting for my photos to print, and he followed me up there. Damn, I thought I was safe up here as it's near the checkout lanes and plenty of witnesses. I wanted to jump into the photo center guy's arms, which looked like a poor man's Samuel L Jackson. The homeless creeper sat right next to me and got on that ghetto phone that is for Money Gram, basically a sketchier version of Western Union. I'm certain I didn't see the man dial any numbers on the phone, but started a full on rant with, probably a dead line on the end. He was hollering about money and accounts and how he has no ID, SHOCKER! He kept mumbling some weird things to me like, "I bet you love your life", etc. The second my photos were ready I ran out the door and back down to Hollywood Blvd so I could blend in with all the other freaks. So, this CVS is not my favorite, but the staff here is always very nice and there is plenty of parking which is a huge bonus. It's also way more organized than the location on Hollywood Blvd, which is like CVS on a crack binge, it's a disorganized dirty ass mess and the pharmacists there fit that very same profile. The nice thing about this CVS is that even when they're slammed on any weekend night with large crowds of those getting that handle of vodka or bottle of jim beam, they do tackle the horde with some style and the lines move quickly. Partially due to the addition of a ton of those self check out machines. While new California law makes it so that you can't buy booze in those, it at least separates the buyers of booze to sticking to the register jockeys while those who don't have those basic needs can quickly get out through the machines. A sort of one-two combo in not so much being good to the customers, but at least getting them out of the store in a quick fashion. So bonus points there on that. They do have some sandwiches and salads and other cold prepared food - While I may not be one to take part in and often question the edibleness of gas station cuisine, none of the stuff in the cold section here has ever made me regret my decision. I'm not saying it's fine dining, but that hummas can be tasty if you're in the mood and already picking up whatever prescription/cough medicine. Over all, this CVS cranks it out at a quick pace. I happen to think this is a great pharmacy. The pharmacy staff are always nice and accommodating. They're consistent with their check in calls to customers if a dr hasn't refilled a prescription and remain in contact thereafter. Plus, they have a drive through window that I love to use. Aw, I gotta show the CVS some love. I have to give it some TLC. I practically lived here when it was a Sav-On. Be it for the booze, the air conditioning or nail polish, it was a Hollywood haven. The lines are horrid most of the time, but it is now 24 hours!! It's a pit stop practically everyday. I lived one block away and it provided a sanctuary for me. I was pretty much a regular..so much so, when I lost my license a while back, a clerk found it in the street and returned it to me. I was like Norm for a while there. "Hey Jessica! Avoid this pharmacy at all cost and read these reviews - they're all so accurate. Most of the staff is friendly but they're severely under-staffed and the turnover is quite high. There's always a new face who I pity because I know they're in over their heads. Every time I go into this store I have to meditate or medicate beforehand just to keep from having a nervous breakdown while inside. Getting prescriptions filled here is like having a part time job. You have to call them over and over for days/ weeks in advance and remind them that you're coming in/ or to order your refill because it's rarely in stock - even super common medications. Then when you arrive, they often can't find the prescription or say that insurance won't cover it - which my insurance always covers, so they call or I call and it becomes a huge production just to get medication that I've taken daily for YEARS. I have to leave and come back or stand around for 20 minutes waiting. It's a disaster, basically. Sometimes I've become excited, believing that they've gotten things together when I receive an automated voicemail from the CVS robot or texts from it about prescriptions being ready; but then when I go in to pick it up, it's some random medication I took once that I don't want or need and they have it set on auto-refil. Then I have to start all over again, asking where the medication is that I need daily and I'm almost out of and have taken for years... On the brighter side it's in a super convenient location, with parking and I can usually find over the counter products and household items I need... but just bring a can pepper spray with you in case you get mugged by the shady people in the parking lot. And also bring a wad of cash to give to the beggars that approach you when you enter and exit the store. If things go smoothly, which sometimes they do, I'm pleasantly surprised. read more

I might change this review later, if the pharmacists don't fail me, but that's looking unlikely. Problem A) "Oh, I didn't know filling a prescription after nine at night would mean it wouldn't go through." Riiiiight. If you don't know that, for your job, you should-- and save me the trip of coming to pick up the medicine I gave you the prescription for. Problem B) Upon unsuccessfully arriving to get the medication, everyone runs around like headless chickens, "Oh, we tried to order it. What happened?" I get double-speak from the girl from last night, claiming the above (I didn't realize the order didn't go through), but then also the order will go through today, but the medicine might not be available. The upshot of this, is that the medicine is old/hard to get/may or may not be carried. Which I didn't realize until later. But when I asked if she could call and check, she said, "Oh no. We can't know if it's available until it does or doesn't come in." This is a lie, and just the employees attempting not to make a phone call for their own convenience. Which, I know, because after I left I called Rite Aid, who made some phone calls (the ones that were not within the CVS's ability to make) and determined that the brand name I was looking for was no longer made, and that the generic was, but that they can't get it because their wholesaler won't sell it to them. They said CVS might get it because their wholesaler is different, but... I'm pretty sure the not being able to get this medicine is going to be the case with CVS. They could have saved themselves the aggravation of attempting to order a med that they can't order, and me another trip/phone call over, by making a call themselves. But that was something they claimed they couldn't do. Perfect example of how sometimes attempting to not do something/be lazy just makes everybody's life (including your own) more annoying and difficult. Also, I think pharmacists, given their line of work, should be expected to know when they are going to be unable to get a particular medicine. If a medicine has been being phased out, shouldn't they realize that when they see it/a customer attempts to get a prescription? I agree with every negative review of the pharmacy on here, so far. It's a mix of some people with iffy attitudes, and others who are sweet, but so far competency has not come into the mix (and that is really what someone needs when getting medicine). To conclude: I hope they get the medicine today, but I'm doubting it, so I have been (and will keep) internally singing that youtube song with the cartoon duck (you all know what I'm talking about), in order to cope. read more

I would give negative stars for the rude asian lady at the pharmacy, but I love the security guy and the front staff are always so friendly to me and my service dog, Nibbler :) I love seeing them and the greeting I get every time I come in. Now back to the pharmacy, I wanted to get my script filled and because she didn't have the amount of medication she just blew me off and was like, 'You just tell me what you want to do', I was looking for some suggestions or guidance since I am sure she sees this situation often since her shit pharmacy is obviously not properly stocked. My ex is a doctor and he filled my scripts normally so I never had any issues. I am going back to my favorite pharmacy by my work called Encino Family Pharmacy, the pharmacist Amir, is way friendlier and always very accommodating to me because I always had such a unique situation and about 10+ meds to fill. Sucks for me cause CVS is so convenient, but if you like being treated less than human by the stank faced pharmacist then by all means. PS darling, don't act like you are better because you went to pharmacy school. my dear, I graduated with my degree in biochemistry with honors and probably make more money in a month than you Now, for the rest of CVS: I love them :) Keep being awesome. read more

I have been coming here because of the pharmacy. There have been countless issues with their organization. They do in fact have polite customer service, but after enough issues of them not having prescriptions ready - enough was enough. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when they called me a day prior to nicely ask me if I wanted to refill 3 of my prescriptions. Two of them I was unaware were needing to be filled, but I was happy to be informed. When I got there the next day they had none of the ready & informed me the one I needed most was not up for refill & I would need to contact my doctor. So why would you call me the day prior to ask me if I want it to be ready? They seem to love to misinform people as well as waste their time. Enough was enough. I dealt with the small annoyances for a year & change. So I finally switched to Rite Aid. Bottom line. Nice people. Retarded service. Nothing's ever ready or on time or clear. read more

I come in weekly to get prescriptions for my wife and literally every single time they cannot find the prescription that they previously called or texted to let her know it was ready. Thanks to Yelp, I found out that there's one on Cahuenga. I was like, "wuuuut" when I first saw it and had to check it out. Apart from the CVS in La Canada on Verdugo, this is the best CVS in LA hands down. It's a newer store, so there's plenty of parking and they are usually stocked. Plus they have really obscure items that are really hard to find in other stores like E.L.F. products. I can literally browse here for hours... plus it's 24 hours! read more

I was really torn on giving this place as high of a rating as I'm giving it - but eh, I'm hormonal & hungry. Lines are hit or miss, prices are hit or miss and the customer service is hit or miss. But on one sunny morning, an employee went out of his way to help me find a certain pregnancy test stashed way in the back of the shelf that turned August 19, 2007 into one of the happiest days of my life. I agree with the positive stuff other people have said but I hold a grudge against them for going back and forth on their credit card policy and being extremely self-righteous when they did so. It's the only place I can't use my boyfriend's credit card at which SUCKS because it's the closest thing to me. I understand a store can have a policy, but it did switch back and forth for while and the manager was such a (fill in blank with word acceptable to you as long as it's negative) to me about it.
