BEWARE - THIEVES - THIEVES - THIEVES - THIEVES - THIEVES - THIEVES - BEWARE - CVS located at 14735 Ventura Blvd. Sherman Oaks, CA My first mistake was sending my 80 year old husband to buy our Christmas gift cards. He paid $650 in cash for 4 cards at $100, 3 at $50 and 4 at $25 plus the activation charges. When these cards are purchased you usually receive a store receipt as well as individual activation receipts. My husband was not given any activation receipts. When he came home with the cards and I asked him for the activation receipts he told me he didn't get any but said I should look at the regular receipt. On the receipt at the bottom there were 11 different lines (one for each card) that said "activated" and then listed the last four numbers of each of the purchased cards. So I shrugged and figured all was okay. Then after giving out some of the cards I get a call from one of the techs at my Vet who thanked me for the $25 card I had given her as a gift. She just wanted to let me know that she tried to use the card and was told it's invalid. This led me to a call this CVS. I asked to speak to a manager and I was asked in turn if I wanted a flu shot. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. The manager, Heather, told me this isn't a store issue it's a corporate issue and proceeded to give me an 800 # to call. I told her point blank that the 4 digit numbers on the receipt do NOT coordinate with the digits on the cards and I firmly believe their clerk Emelita has pulled a fast one. Heather again told me she couldn't help me and I need to call Corporate. She didn't give a damn about any of it or the embarrassment this has caused us. So then I spent 45 mins on the phone with a man named Ken at Corporate who had no interest what so ever with my situation. He was beyond bored and blasé about it all. He listened to the details and told me Corporate would go over my case and make a decision. You have $650+ of our cash money and I have no Christmas gifts to give out and you're going to review things and make a decision. You are all out of your minds if you think I'm going to let this happen. Your damn clerk Emelita scanned cards that she kept and gave my husband unactivated cards. That's how simple this is. I'm still holding my breathe waiting for a call back from Corporate which I was told would take 48 hrs. Talk about a Christmas nightmare. I hope this store and it's crooked employees all go to Hell. I will take you to court to get my money back. I hope you enjoy whatever you buy with my money Emelita. Low life scum that you are. Trust me I will not just let this pass. Bastards and Thieves all of you. This is in regard to my review of 12/11/15 above. Well, Corporate finally left a message for me today 12/16 after 5 full days. I got the message after I got home from work so it was too late to call Corporate back. A dimwit named Stephanie said they went over my receipt and it seems all the cards on the receipt have been activated and if I have any problems I should contact the issuers of the cards who sell them in the CVS stores. OF COURSE THE CARDS ON THE RECEIPT HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED. These are the cards your thieving clerk kept and then gave my husband the unactivated cards. YOU ARE A MORON STEPHANIE. You haven't addressed the real issue at all. TOMORROW I GO TO MY LOCAL POLICE STATION. This will not end without a lawsuit. I guarantee it. read more

It's CVS, so I mustn't expect the quality of service one might at a higher end pharmacy or store. Their understaffed and often uninformed workers seem to be more of a corporate issue with no blame to this particular location, and is reflected in some of the prices and store branded discount options often unavailable at the more pricey stores with the great service. (Hence why I give that the 2 as opposed to 1 star). However, a little while back I went in and asked for assistance simply to unlock an item (as all items over $15 seem to need an associate with a key). The pharmasist told me to wait in my aisle and made a page on the intercom, and no one. Paged again, and no one. I eventually gave up on waiting (LA at 6pm traffic , i just wanted the item without having to drive elsewhere, so I actually waited over 13 minutes). When I finally gave up (far later than I should have), I went up to the line (and yes- always a while that line) to pay the little I could get that didn't require a key. I politely informed the cashier how I had waited a long time for assistance and would like to purchsse a locked item. She simply replied, "yea, we don't have anyone for that right now." In this case it would be much more considerate not to send pages out on a loud speaker suggesting to the patron they should wait for help, until this person is present. The staff clearly could care less about the customers. Whether this is a more isolated issue, or a reflection of the corporation not caring for their employees- it is nonetheless reason enough for me not to attempt CVS for any future needs. read more

The security guard Ron, assaulted and attacked a disabled (wheelchair) homeless man, for attempting to steel a food item (he was not out the door). Ron ripped his plastic bag with personal items dropping his stuff on the floor, ran his legs into the security detectors multiple times. Then pushed his chair out the door, the man who was not even protesting or confrontational was begging for his medication that was still inside the store on the floor. Ron kicked the items out the door. In this store, you have to be afraid of the workers not the homeless. I would have gladly paid for his food. He may have been wrong to steal, even though it does not reach a level of criminal activity in California. Assaulting, especially a wheelchair bound person does! This place has lost all humanity, I will never go there again. I will post this on every media I can. Disgusting!!! read more

This place is just a ZOO! I live across the street and it's just really bad. There are crack addicts hanging out in front 24/7. Homeless guys selling stuff along the walls. I'm afraid to walk across the street to even shop there. The security guards just stand at the entrance and do nothing. I've seen people just walking in and stuffing their backpacks with merchandise and walking out and the security guards just stand there. People park their bikes, big heavy bags and strollers in the entrance so it's like an obstacle course to even walk in. And the shelves are always a mess. I guess no one that works there cares about anything. I just don't go there anymore even though it's right across the street. I can't handle those guys smoking crack all day and night read more

Man, this would be a good CVS but the bus stop attracts all the homeless ppl. i live across the street & i literally saw someone smoking a crack pipe on the wall of CVS i swear to God! smh! i couldnt believe what i saw. its also dirty asf on the outside it almost looks contaminated. im a woman so i literally have to get my boyfriend to walk with me everytime i NEED to go to CVS bc the crackheads be posted up at CVS like they own it. CVS need to do better & hire security OUTSIDE their establishment as well! thats the most ghetto CVS i've ever seen & i hate that bc its so convenient for alot of us downtowners in that area. do better CVS bc this aint it SMH read more

Regular CVS with Korean writing everywhere which was cool but everything is super locked up so you have to wait for assistance for everything and you have to hear the "CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE NEEDED IN THE COSMETICS DEPARTMENT" for everything. The main entrance is all sealed up and you have to go through the back so people don't steal. Must be too much crime in this area and it looks excessive but every aisle where there weren't gates, everything was completely emptied out so I guess they need it read more

I live in this area and will never go to this CVS again. Today there were two motorized bikes riding through the store and the cashier said talk to the security and security claimed they are allowed. Just get rid of security, because what is the point, and the whole store for that matter because that is insane. The store is filthy and homeless permanently reside outside. No one from the neighborhood feels safe coming here unless we have absolutely no other choice. read more

Changing pharmacies after 6 years. A queer-looking person was attacked by a crazy person and called a "f*ggot" and when they clapped back THEY were followed out by security instead of the person who was instigating a fight with someone in line minding their own business. CVS has become my local store of preference. I'm greeted by the security guard at the front door and even though the lines are sometimes long, there are always enough cashiers to attend all the customers in a timely manner. You can also get a rain check on a product that is on sale so you don't miss out on sales. Thanks to the whole team at CVS on Seventh and Spring Street. read more

If you don't like being harassed by bums, avoid this CVS and walk the extra .3 miles to the Grand Ave CVS... Tho the selection is larger at this location, so is the likelihood of getting mugged haha Or enter from broadway and 7th side if you must go here. Avoid 7th and Spring corner entrance.
