This is the worst CVS in the United States - I have lived all over the US and I have never seen such horrible pharmacy employees anywhere. The phone operators are abusive to the patients, cannot answer simple questions, then just hang up on patients when they cannot answer questions. They do this knowing that the patients have been on hold HALF AN HOUR because the CVS in Malibu is so understaffed. The CVS pharmacy employees are the least competent and most unprofessional pharmacy employees I have ever seen. Avoid CVS Malibu at all costs - thankfully I almost never need prescriptions and deal with them maybe one time per year. I Just called and the manager told me the CVS phones DO NOT WORK and they cannot hear people they call - then he said they have put in a work order for the phones not working. The members were unable to find my insurance but the pharmacist Bahareh was able to provide me with a discount in the meantime. I will check with my insurance in regards to the coverage but I was grateful for the assistance and thoughtful act. read more

Not only is it like pulling teeth to get ahold of anyone because they never answer their phone, the people that work here are incredibly RUDE. This is a very great place very clean atmosphere very clean establishment the staff here is very friendly my mom and I came here when we where on vacation in July while visiting my sister my nephew recommended it since we where looking for souvenirs and this establishment definitely has that here they have hats T-shirt's shit glasses sweaters hoodies dnc much more my mom and I got done stuff she got a shirt and I got a hat and a shot glass since I have a collection of shit glasses from all over so I was happy that they had that here they also have food and skin care and personal care here they definitely have a very wide selection of different items to choose from I highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking souvenirs or anything else they definitely do have it here I will definitely be coming back here again next time I am in town for more future visits and more great things thank you cvs in Malibu you guys are great read more

Rude treatment. Came for a Pfizer booster. They did not have my appointment. They made me feel uncomfortable and did not come across professional. Nurse did not ask me to sit down for 15 minutes after the shot. I could have walked away. Nurse talked about Moderna even so I needed Pfizer. Very horrible unprofessional attitude. Recently, in July, I needed a specific, over-the-counter medicine for scar treatment for an incision/radiation I had at Cedar Sinai. I tried several places in LA that did not have it. Then I went to CVS in Malibu and the pharmacist could not find it. When I went up to buy some other things that I needed, Anthony told me that he thought he knew where it was. He left and found the salve that the doctor had recommended. He was incredibly pleasant and helpful after having many negative experiences in similar stores the previous three days. When you've just been operated on, it's so wonderful to have somebody patiently take the time to help you! Please let him know he made my day! read more

I'm Malibu resident many years. Store Manager Phil Brock is one of the best and friendliest Managers I've encountered in year. All proven during the Pandemic and the store not having workers. Phil took on every role in that store and still does to this day Always tries to get products if not available...Always helps locate what you need...That is the only CVS store I will go to as he treats his customers like family. This CVS needs to fire Linda because she's incredibly rude. I had my purchase rejected because I didn't have enough money in my checking account and she came over and started badgering me and asking me if I wanted to get one item or just cancel the order and I was like okay I'll just get a different face wash and she was like okay then I'll hold these for you. Like why are you holding my stuff captive and why can't you just mind your own business? Anyway, then I transferred $10 from my savings into my checking account and came back to pay and she insisted on ringing me up even though I was going to do self checkout like I was trying to do the first time because I didn't want to deal with her ass. But whatever, after treating me like a juvenile delinquent, she rings me up and asks me if I want a bag and I politely said that's okay, after which she proceeded to rudely ask me if that means no. Like, use your brain. If I'm saying it's okay then obviously I don't want a bag and you don't have to be so rude about it. Shop here a lot for necessities and the review isn't against the place itself, it's against the management. The pharmacy is obviously horrible because of all the reviews so I think they need a new staff there. Other thing is the manager seems to be why all the employees are rude. I was shopping and minding my own business and I noticed a possibly new employee who was really nice and helpful, he came up and asked me if I was looking for something and even walked me up to where it was. A few minutes later I hear the manager scream at the top of her lungs "you put this in the wrong place!" But with a really angry tone. Any manager who treats their employees like that should be fired. If he made a mistake you can quietly correct him, not yell bringing customers into the situation. read more

Bad? yep. They are understaffed. i call and am on hold for 20 minutes then they disconnect. call back? 45 minute wait, someone picks up, puts me on hold and never comes back. Three prescriptions were filled in correctly. THREE. They are too busy and if i could change to another pharmacy i would This is the worst pharmacy i have ever used. I have been told folks would call me back due to errors THEY made... never happened... multiple times i was told i would receive a call- called front store asked for manager, of course i didn't get one. was put on hold and one would pick up... and then they hung up a SECOND time. read more

I have had the worst experience with this pharmacy. I needed to refill prescriptions while visiting the area. The staff was RUDE and incompetent. After giving them all of the information, I was told it would take 24-48 hours. I came back after 48 hours... and they couldn't find my information. I provided it again (benefit of the doubt), told them I needed it the next day, was told "I hear you," returned the next day to pick up, and they couldn't find my information again in the computer. The staff member I originally spoke to was there, and looked through a stack of papers, grabbed out my information and said, "give us a few hours, there are 4 of them!" Really?? Every time I talked to someone, they said they were very busy...I was the only one in line and there were three of them behind the counter. Plus that meant I had to come back AGAIN. If I could, I'd give the customer service rating as a ZERO! I'm glad we don't have this store where I live. I'm used to great service and pleasant, polite staff to work with. Bf and I were entertaining his parents, in from Chicago for a long weekend, and staying at a friends' Topanga house. Why? Because she was out of town, needed someone to watch her adorable doggies, and we needed a bigger place for all 4 of us to hang out. Was the universe was on our side that week, or what! The house had an awesome fireplace, so we went in search of Duraflame logs. Luckily, this CVS was on the way back from Malibu (Sip for wine tasting and Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Cafe for chowder and munchies, yay!). We popped in and I asked one of the cashiers whether they carried them or not. It's a good thing he told me where they were, because those things were hidden in the furthest corner possible! But we got an awesome deal: a 6-pack for $15. The same cashier rang us up, and he is one detailed dude. When I went to use my GreenBagTag (you get a CVS Extra Buck for every 4th swipe), he told me the following: The GreenBagTag can only be used: * IF attached to a bag, so you're not using a NEW bag * IF attached to a CVS bag specifically, not any other bag I've never been told this - I've been told that it's for any time you just don't require a bag. Which I think makes more sense, recycling-wise, but - whatever, detailed CVS dude! It's stupid to review a CVS, I know nobody's going to look on yelp before they go here, but I'm writing this in hopes that there's a slight chance that someone from management reads these things and will actually DO something about it. Get more workers on the floor (preferably ones with brains, no more zombies), please! It's one of those places where there's 10 cash registers but 9 of them are closed 24 hours a day. So you've got people 6 deep waiting on the one slow clerk all day long. And you're in real trouble if you need to find an employee to unlock a cabinet for you, forget it. This review is for the pharmacy section of CVS, not the entire store. The entire store is a typical CVS. The pharmacy section, however, is a different story. To say the ladies who work to fill prescriptions are rude, unhelpful and incredibly unprofessional people would be a very polite overstatement. I have been coming here for 2 years, and where I call and politely ask for a refill (where they have put me on hold for 20+ minutes) or I've showed up and waited in line (normally 10-30 minutes), every single lady has a nastier attitude than the next. No matter how polite you are to them- which I finally gave up 4 months ago- they act as though they do not have time for you- which is funny considering there is normally 5 women back there and 2 people in line. They don't look you in the face, act annoyed at any questions you ask, and stand together gossiping. Most recently I called in for a prescription, was told it would be ready, and when I went in they said I needed to contact my doctor. Unfortunately, I needed it that day. They let me wait 4 days for it to be ready to tell they can't fill it. They then proceeded to tell me I was lying about when I called and how I normally get it filled. They never looked up at me while I explained to them I needed it that day and had waited for them- instead they continued working and ignored me. Funny enough, there are two men who work there sometimes, both perfectly friendly- so I'm not sure what the issue is with the women. I would never write such a long, negative review for anywhere but having dealt with these ladies (and the exact same ladies) for 2 years- I couldn't be more disgusted and sick of them. I finally transferred my prescription to Santa Monica, adding 13 miles to go pick it up but worth it not to deal with these people. If anyone who has any power reads this- get rid of them. They are the definition of unprofessional and an embarrassment to have at any store or establishment where you are working with people. Reading the other reviews- it should be very clear that I'm not the only one who had a poor experience with them. It would be great if CVS somehow combed through these reviews and solved the problem which could be very easy- find new pharmacists. Very disorganized and rude. I received a voicemail from a girl at the pharmacy indicating that my Rx was ready but I needed to call back because they had a question. The first 3 times I called, the # rang and rang and eventually got disconnected without ever going to a recording. The 4th time the usual automated call prompts came on and when I got through to the Pharmacist she told me in a very haughty tone that nothing was there for me so I had nothing to pick-up. I tried to explain over her CONSTANT interruptions that a call was made to me no less than 10 minutes before. In a condescending tone she asked if it was a recording or a person. I corrected her that it was a person and asked if perhaps the question was to confirm my request to transfer my Rx to another pharmacy? She put me on hold and then w/ in 10 seconds said "no, I don't now if you'll get your transfer but you have nothing here." Was by far the b*tchiest pharmacy experience I've ever had. Glad I don't need to go there very often and feel sorry for the people who do. The last time I was there this elderly patron, who apparently had been admonished many times before to "stay behind the yellow line" while waiting, warned me... "She's going to tell you to wait behind the line or else she won't help you." The line was about 8 - 10 feet from the Pharmacy counter!!!! Seriously? Worst Pharmacy Ever! Drop off your prescription and wait and wait and wait - took them 20 hours to fill a simple prescription! We went In three times to pick it up and they kept saying "we need another 30 min or more" - they're always so slow and Pharmacy staff is less than friendly. Associate pharmacists bare the brunt of consumer complaints. I feel bad for them as it's not their fault CVS doesn't schedule enough people. Store otherwise is always empty of shoppers - store should be half the size and refocus the service staff from stocking booze to managing the pharmacy. read more

The worst customer service is at this pharmacy. Not only did they forget to call me when my specific brand of medications was unavailable, but they made me wait in line for 40 minutes to find out. Forwarding prescriptions to and from this pharmacy is also awful. When trying to leave the pharmacy it took them three days to send out my prescription. Forget about trying to call ahead of time either, they never answer despite phones ringing constantly. Tried to get a flu shot and turned away by the pharmacist because she's leaving for her lunch in 10 minutes (it was 1:40 PM and she was taking a 1:50 pm lunch). She was very rude when she told me and I had waited in line for 10 minutes already. Such terrible service ever time i come here! I'm not quite sure where they find such unhappy people to work for them. I wonder what CVS does to their employees to make them so unhappy.... I use super care across the street for my prescriptions now because of how bad the service typically is at CVS (extremely long waits for prescriptions called in hours prior but still not ready and very rude staff). I decided not to cash out with the items I planned to purchase because of my experience. I'm done with CVS. Everything you need can be purchased at super care or Ralph's. Too many bad experiences here! Update: December 2017. Yet another terrible experience at CVS Malibu. Again with the pharmacy in regards to getting a flu shot (super care had run out so I figured I try CVS- this was for my father). Seems to be a new pharmacist, male, that I hadn't met previously. This place will never change. Such a shame. Tip: for $35 with insurance the Heal app (find in the App Store) will come and administer a flu shot at your home on your time time frame (and they're really nice people to deal with). read more

This CVS is alright, I come here because it's convenient. Free, easy parking, and great location. Has a bunch of random items I need every once in a while. I guess if you come out to Malibu for the beach, and forget something like sunscreen, this would be a great spot for you to come to grab some. A lot of chain pharmacies can be a little junky and depressing inside. This one's not too bad, but it's not too great, either. This one leans a bit more on the nicer side, though. read more

When their pharmacy closes at 9 pm on weekdays, CVS won't stay open a minute longer. I was in line well before 9:00 while the pharmacist chatted away with someone she knew. And the other pharmacist answered phones, only to say, "Sorry, we're closed." No help, no help at all. Just plain rude. read more

This CVS just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I was very thirsty and was in need of some liquid refreshments. The store layout is typical to that of many other CVS locations. They do have a good selection of wines suitable for cooking and for the table. The softdrink selection is moderate but could use a few more flavors. I did find what was suitable for my needs and was able to check out rather quickly. The store was clean and well organized. The cashier, with the green eyes, was kind, courteous and very professional. I will obviously return here when I am in the neighborhood. read more

I stopped in here EARLY on a Sunday morning and they were just opening their doors. It was 7am and I'd already stopped at a few other locations and no one was open so that's my first big hurrah. Next I needed some Vitamin E oil and I was able to quickly find a couple different options for that. On my way out the door I noticed they still had some holiday candy and it was 75% off so I treated myself to some of that too. The clerk had trouble ringing up the 75% off sale price because I guess the candy had just fallen out of their system or the sale wasn't active anymore but they got it to work. The woman who helped me was friendly and upbeat. I would return here again and was very grateful they were open for me last Sunday and had everything I needed! read more

Service here is hit and miss, more times miss.

I just left close to $400 worth of items on the floor and walked out the store as I could not stand the level of disrespect and rudeness of the floor associate "helping" out at the registers. From "what do you need coupons for" when I asked how I could print my coupons without my cvs card, to making me do my own check out with a cart FULL of stuff, to angrily scanning his employee card to "help" clear error messages on the screen, to taking up a tone that implied I was trying to steal an item when the tray sensed my empty shopping bag as an "unscanned item", to aggressively asking me to double check everything to make sure I've scanned everything I put in my bag. When I asked him to check it for me since that's technically his job, he got angry and raised his voice telling me he's busy and that I should wait for someone else to come and help. Im a professional, respectful person who lives in the neighborhood and generally love shopping at cvs after a long work day when I can brows the isles and explore new cosmetics and beauty products. I have always had good service. They stay busy but take the time to explain stuff. Sometimes I have to wait as they are busy but that's not the end of the world. I disagree with the reviews that are upset because they did not drop everything they were doing just to focus on that person. I have had the worst experience at this CVS, one of the workers with Long brown hair in the pharmacy, she was so unbelievably rude, she rolled her eyes and was not helpful at all I was waiting 2 hours for my prescription and when I went up to ask she was very rude and I as I was sitting waiting she was talking about me to other coworkers and was pointing at me. This is the slowest and least helpful CVS pharmacy I have ever experienced. As an example this morning, I was standing at the drop-off counter for 10 minutes with no acknowledgement from anyone, not even to say they are busy and would help me in a few minutes (not to mention I was the only person in line at they time). I ended up leaving, as I didn't have time to wait, especially if no one was even going to talk to me about my needs. Another time I was here in the past dropping off a prescription and the woman behind the counter had a bad attitude and acted annoyed when I had questions about a prescription I was dropping off. I like going here for convenience of location in relation to my job but ultimately my experiences here make me want to find a new pharmacy altogether. read more
