Hard to even give one star after the service I received here this past weekend. Stopped in Saturday afternoon to pick up alcohol for a gathering I was going to that day. Upon checkout, I handed my ID to the lady when she asked. She glanced at it, and then handed it to her manager, I'm assuming. He looked at my ID for a few seconds, and then proceeded to ask me if I'd like to show him my "real" ID? I told him that the card I had given was real, and I offered other proof of identification (COVID card, credit card AND student ID) and after examining my information for a minute or so he told me that he could give me my ID card back but refused to sell me alcohol. I feel that this treatment was completely rude, unprofessional and uncalled for. I was very polite and tried to offer a solution to the problem right away (his solution was calling the police) by offering my alternate identification since he couldn't tell my ID was real. The tone of his voice, body language, and refusing to sell to me for no reason other than making a fool out of himself trying to call me out for having a fake ID was very immature and embarrassingly poor service in general. I wish they could hire employees who for one, knew how to tell a real ID card, and knew how to treat people better. Will not be returning here. read more

Lately, the pharmacy service has fallen below the acceptable level. When you call for refill you have to listen to Covid stuff then music then menu and the message we will contact your doctor when you have several Refill available. I spent one hour of frustration. When l sent my daughter to collect my medicine they gave her med I ready have BUT did NOT give the med I had run out. Tomorrow this old ailing man has to go iti retrieve the Med I need! read more

I have tried to give CVS a chance for years, alas I'm done trying. This Moraga store, a store in SF and Walnut Creek that I have frequented all have the same problems: 1. No help on the floor; unfriendly cashiers who seemingly would rather talk to each other than customers; not any different than shopping online, so why would I continue to come in person? Please help me to understand the value added to my experience of visiting a brick and mortar without good customer service (or better prices). And now that Amazon does same-day deliveries, immediate convenience is not even a differentiator these days. 2. Prices are high(er than competition) especially because their couponing system is whack (see next). 3. Coupon machine is *always* broken. It's set up at the end of an aisle by the entrance/cashier for convenience, but isn't operable. Plus, I'm made to feel like a burden when requesting help to use/fix it. Today, the cashier simply said "sorry" after I spent 10 minutes trying to simply type in my phone number (buggy machine wouldn't register the proper keys, was very delayed and took longer than computers from the 90s). I tried to be patient which is why I spent the time that I did (despite 5+ similar experiences in the past). I requested the store manager and when he eventually came over to try and help, he repeatedly told me it wasn't going to work, that I should try the (similarly non functioning) machine in the back. When I stayed there for more of a resolution, he restarted the machine with a sigh. Unsurprisingly, the machine didn't start functioning again. I thanked him for his effort (because I know he was frustrated with it too) and approached the cashier again who was holding my basket of goods. She asked me to try the machine in back as well. Why would I try that machine again? It's unlikely to work differently 20min later with no intervention... she then suggested I buy one item, print the coupons from that purchase and use them for the rest of my goods... the coupons that print out are different (and usually less relevant/cannot be used day of) from the kiosk coupons. When I asked about that, she sheepishly admitted they were different. She started checking me out, didn't ask for my loyalty card number, and then asked if I wanted to pay for a bag. I understand that Moraga charges for bags, but why would I spend even more at your store after yet another bad experience? Overall, not the right way to treat a paying customer ($117 purchase today). Although 9/10 I walk out of CVS feeling annoyed/burdensome/spending more than one should, I have kept trying to give the local brick and mortar stores a chance.... alas, today was my last straw. I plan not only to shop at competitors/online, but also to spread the word about the lousy customer service and poor pricing/coupon experiences at CVS. read more

OK, This is possibly the worst CVS I've ever had the misfortune to experience. Above Yelper is correct, lines are short, BUT you will spend an average of 5-10 minutes or more in that short line...everytime! Why is this you say? Well for one the store is about as big as a average size McDonald's and has a full size pharmacy where the whole town of Moraga fills their prescriptions. This would be OK if, A: they were adequately staffed. B: the staff that did work there were competent. On more then one occasion they did not have a prescription ready (even after they gave a courtesy call), lost the prescription and/or did not bother to fill it causing me to come back 4 times over a 6 hour period. The employees there, while very nice are waaaaay too involved with the customers. Often standing there having full blown conversations for 10+ minutes with customers' at the register, while a line of 3-4 people are patiently waiting to get rung up. Because most people just go there for prescriptions, all the employees there (not just the pharmacists) help with the pharmacy. This is the reason why they are spending 5-10 minutes on each customer, that and the fact that they lose/forget/ or simply don't ask or call if they can't fill your prescriptions. So if your in a hurry and want quick efficient service, go to the other CVS in Reem shopping center 2 miles down the road. Trust me you will happier. read more

I was in CVS for over half an hour trying to figure out the whole coupon thing. The woman helping me was not able to have it pulled up when I gave her my number. I was buying beauty products and definitely needed to use some coupons. So I looked on my email and saw only expired ones. I had to purchase just a few at a time, so I can get some coupons for my next purchase. I go over to the scan card machine and push the my phone number choice. It did not work, my sales clerk try to help and it still did not work. We were told to try the other machine in the back of the store. After punching in my phone number it said error. I was very frustrated. We went back to try the first Q again and had to push my number in many times because the number 5 wasn't working, and still the machine didn't take my number. I consider myself a very patient person and I was starting to get agitated but not showing it. Now I would have to purchase a bunch of products with no coupon. On my way back to the counter I have checked my email which now had coupons it took a while to get them to appear for use. I finally was able to use my coupons. I think the sales lady for her patients. Grabbed a couple of my items to leave, she called me back 2 to get the other items I didn't see and had forgotten with all this frustration. I realize now I will need a bag. I never asked for it back because I always bring one or carry it out to my car. As she's giving me a bag she said I would have to charge you for that. I was shocked that she even really said that to me after all that I've been through. I said I'm not going to pay for that after all I've been through. She said well that would be like stealing. Soon the manager came over and also said I would have to pay for it. So as I'm digging out for my dying soon the manager said don't charge her her but it was too late I had found my dime and gave it to her saying it's just the principle that mattered. This whole experience makes me not want to come back to this location for a while. read more

It's a neighborhood CVS, and does exactly what a neighborhood CVS does. The lines here are either short or nonexistent, due to how small the town of Moraga is. Also for this reason, the store isn't 24 hours. It's clean inside, but the employees aren't the most helpful. read more

I went into Longs early Saturday morning to purchase a birthday card. I was so lucky to have Grace check me out. She was so pleasant and could not be nicer. We talked about the card that I purchased with flowers on it. She told me that she buys this card for her Mom since she can't have real flowers. Grace asked if I needed a pen and I borrowed hers. Once I got it addressed she asked if I would like to mail it there but I did not have any stamps. Grace sold me a book of stamps. When I gave her a $20 bill I asked if I could get 11 one dollar bills. I told her that I needed them as I pay one of my grandsons $2 per day for a good day in school and it is working! OMG!!!!!! CVS you are very lucky to have Grace working for you. She told me that she is going to DVC, we talked how difficult virtual school really is on most students. Grace is an awesome kind employee. Treat her like gold so that she stays at CVS. I would hire her in a minute. Thank you Grace for bringing a smile to me on Saturday morning. Yes you can see a smile through the mask.....just look in the other persons eyes. I am glad I was the only one in the store and we had a minute to talk.....it made my day! read more

Worst experience. I would give Pharmacist Vy a zero if I could. My dog is dying and a vet wrote a prescription for codeine to relieve his significant pain from Glaucoma. I first visited CVS near Rossmoor. Their pharmacist didn't have the medication in stock, but said that Moraga did. I drove to Moraga. Vy told me that it was in stock and to come back in an hour. We got a call saying there was a problem and she needed to speak to the vet. The vet left a message for her which she claims she didn't get (lie). Then she told me the meds had expired by a couple of months and that she could not sell them to me. They are TWO MONTHS back ordered (another lie I suspect). Thanks for nothing CVS. Now I have to mail order and wont get until Monday or Tuesday at which time my dog will likely be DEAD! read more

Come here often enough to write a review about today. Spouse bought something here two weeks ago. Have another 45 days to return it unopened. Brought it to the counter with some other items, which I subsequently bought. Two employees said they won't refund me without the manager's override. And he won't be back for a few weeks. Really? There is no assistant manager here with authority? I have the receipt and the item. CVS Moraga, your customer service is horrible and your items more expensive than Walgreens. read more

I have found this store to be excellent for years but lately prior to the pandemic very lacking in stocking of the shelves. Missing a lot of my usual purchases. I've had to ask store employees to check the back storage for simple items. I actually wanted two small bags of M&M's they only had one on the front counter. I usually purchase a wine at a discount that is no longer stocked on a regular basis. Again I have to ask an employee to check the storage area. Simple regular stocking of the shelves has been non-existent. Shelves were empty before the current crisis. What will the management do to correct this abhorrent behavior? read more

I wish I had read the reviews before using this as my pharmacy. Same experience as basically everyone here: incompetent pharmacists who can't figure out how to call a doctor or don't even try. I've had prescriptions waiting 2 weeks! Then the pharmacist gets in a yelling match with my doctor about who has a broken fax machine (based on the reviews here, I'm guessing it's you, CVS). This is in addition to doctors sending prescriptions here, only for me to show up two days later and the pharmacists acting confused and saying 'oh sure we can fill that for you, come back tomorrow'. Update--still terrible! So i dropped off a prescription that was absolutely critical be filled by a certain date. They had eight days to fill the prescription. Guess what? They called the day I was supposed to pick it up and said there was a "glitch" in the order. They are just completely incompetent. I have learned my lesson once and for all. read more

People in pharmacy are especially helpful, especially on medical questions. BUT Be aware that the buck savings you earn buying certain things at any CVS now expire faster and they won't honor them. I just lost $4 this way and could have bought stuff at Target, which is always cheaper, otherwise. read more

On a good day I will see a black and a chocolate lab tied outside this CVS while they wait for their owner. CVS is nice and leave a water bowl for dogs like these dogs. Sometimes I buy cigarettes here. Friendly employees. No complaints. read more

Absolutely terrible service in the photo department. The store claims to provide passport photos "in minutes." I have now been there three times trying to get a passport photo, only to be told each time that no one is available and that they don't know when anyone will be. The store is grossly understaffed, with chronically long lines and slow checkouts. I will not be back. read more

I just had my passport picture taken. The picture was slightly sideways when I saw it on the camera, before uploading it on the computer or printing it. I asked if it could be taken again. He said no, that they could not take 10 pictures with each customer. I was not going for 10, I was just going to a second. He reluctantly took a second picture and rushed to print it before I even had a chance to say anything. He was so unkind, I didn't feel like smiling for the second pic. I said I was glad the second picture came out straight. He responded in an annoyed tone that there was nothing wrong with the first. The funny thing is that the speakers in the store kept advertising how they have this wonderful passport picture service. read more

While other may think the checker Jeniffer was pleasant, I had a bad experience with her. On May, 16, I needed some cash back and got in her line, she was unhappy that I took most of her cash away which was $ 40 dollars. She told me no more cash in a unpleantly and gave me ten of one dollars bills while I saw there is 5 dollars bills in her cash box. She didn't even bagged my puches, and whet on to the next customers. It was such an pleasant experience to me. CVS either don't do cash back servise, or should do it willingly. This is the worse CVS I went to. The cashier Linda was rude & kept on shaking her head throughout the entire transaction. I found some stuff that had a clearance sign on them & I decided to take it to the red machine to price check it. When I scanned it, the item was still full price. I put those items in my cart & grabbed the clearance sign to the register. I thought doing so would save the cashier some time & not hold up the line behind me by having the cashier go on the floor to verify the price. When I brought it to Linda, she gave me a weird look with an attitude & asked me why did I took the sign down. I explained to her what my thought was (mentioned above) showed her where those items are as I said I wouldn't mind going back to put the signs back up. She shook her head & scanned the items. She had to manually adjust the price & I could tell she doesn't like it 1 bit. I won't be coming back her no more... Sorry to say but there are lots of people who are in desperate need of a job which I feel Linda needs to find something else better to do besides making peoples day worse!
