    Chalk in the backyard

This place is so comfy. I loved it. I spent a lot of time outside and the inside is so cozy. The staff was so friendly and nice. The drinks are so yummy and so is the pastries. I was having a rather hard morning and this little chalk note turned my day completely around.

Dark chocolate raspberry iced Mocha is delicious!! 10/10 A must try! Not super sweet at all which I love. Small coffee spot perfect for picking up on the go.

What a little gem to find this cafe. After the Moraga Farmer's market, we continued to find a coffee shop to complete our breakfast foraging. (We had a morning bun to eat from the FM). We had read that there weren't bakery items here but I think I did see some inside the store but it was hard to tell as we couldn't go in. I guess because of Covid but I am not sure why not because things are open with masks and it says here that all the servers are vaccinated. Maybe because there was a huge dog inside the cafe that shouldn't have been in there? I love dogs and take my dog everywhere but that is the only reason I can see why the she would not let patrons in. The menu is plentiful with a little bit of everything. We got a plain black coffee that wasn't hot enough. I got an iced oatmilk latte which was perfect. I did not take the straw. I think that it would be better not to put a drink out with a straw. See if the customer really wants one. We sat in the back patio which was very pleasant. There are SO MANY cycling guys here. I appreciated that the bathroom was open and accessible from the back patio. Parking was easy. I highly recommend this place.

I had been to the church before, but I didn't remember the massive coffee hangout there! It's so spacious and offers plenty of seating. How long has this place been here? I wish it were closer to where I live in San Jose! I could easily imagine sitting in one of the comfortable nooks, studying or grading papers. It's also a fantastic spot to meet up or chat with a group of friends. It was definitely a nice place for a date! When we walked in, there were hardly any available seats, but the line at the counter wasn't long. We found a quiet corner to sit and enjoyed our breakfast. I ordered a hot latte with maple syrup in the name, though I can't recall the exact name. It paired nicely with my pastry. The almond croissant I ordered was delectable, with just the right amount of sweetness and flakiness. My partner enjoyed his cappuccino and savory bacon croissant. We walked up two steps to the restroom and were surprised to find more seats and tables. I wish I had noticed that area when I was looking for a place to sit. Oh well, it was comfortable where we were. The girls should have more playdates with their cousins so we can come here more often. Is it really called a "playdate" when the kids are 12 and 15, and their cousins are between 21 and 30?

The salted maple latte was just ok... sadly it looked better than it tasted. I wasn't a huge fan of their espresso as it left a very sour after taste, even with the sweet maple syrup it wasn't very pleasant. Good espresso should be balanced and coffee forward, and I didn't get that. Almond croissant was great, but I was a bit disappointed in their coffee. Ambience is great for studying or getting some work done.

We went mainly for drinks and tried a latte, tiramisu latte, and a Spanish latte. The tiramisu latte and Spanish latte were both really good and definitely my favorites. It comes unsweetened, so I asked for it to be sweetened and it was great after that. The vanilla matcha was fine too, just not my top pick. They're also dropping a new Ramadan drink soon, a date latte, which sounds really good and I'll probably come back just to try that. Overall, great drinks and a nice place to hang out.

Heads up, this place is street parking only so come prepared! I would also recommend making a reservation since it is a smaller space (it was busy when I came!) The menu is pretty straight forward and majority of folks including us ordered a set for $45 each person. It comes with two choices of sandwiches, a scone, an array of sweets, and tea of choice. What makes this place so great too is that they allow you to pick sandwiches that are traditional to English Breakfast or you can go out of your way to pick traditionally Asian flavors. Between my partner and I we ordered: Meat floss sandwich (my favorite but that is because I have an affinity for meat floss), beef jerky (love how it paired with the creamy mayo), kaya jam with butter (a delicious salty sweet blend), and chicken curry (comfort food at best). We both enjoyed the scone with clotted cream and jam, very typical for afternoon tea, and in the dessert tier we got chocolate rocks (fun!), macarons, ube chiffon cake, and a strawberry sago pudding. Heads up everyone in your party gets their own tea set so you can mix and match to share with folks. Btw, they do have square sugar cubes, a nice accent.
