This Dollar Tree is a drag. I've been coming in here on and off for the four years that I have lived in this dusty, dull little town, and I leave disappointed, every time. Why are the shelves so poorly stocked at this location? Moraga is supposed to be a rather tony/shi shi little town, as evidenced by the many luxury cars and upscale homes, so one wonders why the pickings are so slim here. Shelves are better stocked at other Dollar Trees I've been to. The people who work here seem generally pleasant, unhurried, cordial, and willing to answer a question, so that is one "plus." But it gets old fast when you come in for the hundredth time and can't find half the items you were hoping THIS TIME would finally be on the shelves. Do better, Moraga Dollar Tree. read more

I fondly remember this Dollar Tree as being super clean. Today, we walked in, looking for our annual Boo Boo surprises in preparationfor Halloween, and there was only one person was working with a long line of customers waiting. Poor guy! With the hustle and bustle of the lunch hour rush, the customers really rummaged through the store. I appreciate that this location has ample, free parking, and that the staff is always friendly. Huge selection of valentine items! Due to the helium shortage not every dollar tree carries helium balloons so we were so thrilled to have called to confirm this location had helium balloons. It made our daughter extremely happy to have her balloons! Friendly staff as well and customers were also all very polite. read more

I love this location, but on this particular day, an employee used profanity in front of my 6-year-old. I went to shop in the Dollar Tree in Moraga last Sunday 3/25/18 at around 11am. I was looking for an item, I was looking at it, and I found another one, so I wasn't sure what to buy. I left it there, but not at the exact place, because I didn't finish shopping. All the sudden, a lady comes to me, yelling at me. I told her to hold her horses, and she kept harassing me. I told her I want speak with the manager. She said "Ia m the manager" and kept yelling at me. I took her name , it is Kela (or Quela), anyway she doesn't deserve to be the manager, because she is harassing costumers, and many of my friend told me the same thins. People in Lamorinda don't want to go shopping there because she terrorize the store! So I go to this dollar tree with my friends all the time. Some background context is that I just moved here last year so i'm pretty new. Im used to a big open dollar tree because where I used to live it was super big, but this dollar tree was not big and spacious. Me and my friends say this a lot "this dollar tree is MUCH smaller than your average dollar tree." Which is a bit disappointing. Another thing to add is that their customer service is not the best, it is a bit hard to find the clerks because they are either at the back of the store where I can't go or they are hiding somewhere. The customer service here is unbelievable. One day I was in a hurry, so I sent my teenage daughter and my younger daughters into the store to grab a gift bag and some tissue paper. I gave them five dollars and they went in. When they came back, they kept telling me about a particular cashier that was harassing them while they were trying to check out. So, here is what they told me: We were walking into line to check out, and we put the tissue paper inside the gift bag so we'd have less to hold. When we were checking out, the cashier started asking us where our parents were and why we were here alone. We politely told her that we were rushing and our mom was just parked right outside, and pointed at you. Then, she started yelling at us for putting the tissue paper inside the back, and started talking to the other CUSTOMERS in line about how we were just lazy rich kids that were too spoiled to be polite. My younger daughter came in tears after this, and I was furious! The manager needs to teach their staff manners! read more

This is def. one of the best dollar trees I've been to. Great service and lots of great finds! My favorite things to get from this particular store: --Books! They have a great selection of books! Check out this place before heading over to Barnes and Nobles. -- Movie Candy! Whoopers! -- Batteries..why does CVS always mark up batteries? -- Top Ramen, a 6 pack for $1? Nice employees! I come here whenever I need helium balloons. They also allow you to bring in your own and charge you just for the helium a dollar per balloon. I have used their cash back when I am doing laundry and don't have cash. It does cost $1 to receive any cash back. read more

There are no dollar stores anywhere near my house, so whenever I see one I whine til my hon of hons husband relents and stops. This is not the best dollar store I've been to, but beggars can't be choosers. Once inside I grabbed a basket and started scanning the aisles. In about five minutes I had scooped up some kitchen goods, some jarred spices, organic rye flour (major score!), licorice, bottle of Tapatio, and a bunch of name brand soups that I like to keep on hand for a quick lunch or snack. One of the smaller locations but still many deals to be had, next to TJ Maxx and the post office. Chilled sodas, bottled water, greeting cards, pens/pencils, packing envelopes, basic office stuff and cleaning supplies are normal purchases of mine, and even though some of the food items are name brands and off brands, decent selection there. When the holidays roll around gift bags and wrapping paper are dirt cheap, less than half what Target would charge. read more

I just want to thank the lady at the cash register, who quickly helped me to replace a birthday balloon for my 3 years old son. It had a weight tied to the string, but the wind was too strong and it flew off my hand and over the roof. The son was devastated, but the lady was so quick and sweet to bring him another! There is always plenty of parking whenever I frequent this store which is usually on a weekday morning. This location is always really clean and I never see products out of place. The employees have always been extremely friendly towards me and checking out is a breeze. I am a huge fan of their greeting card selection as well as their gift bag and ribbon selections. Sadly, as I was checking out, the cashier was loudly sharing about an incident of a "customer who kicked in the front door" then proceeded to say "just because people around here have Ph.D & M.D's doesn't mean I'm going to let them treat me that way!" It is a great store that is nicely kept, has very friendly workers and is an overall WONDERFUL edition to the Rheem Shopping Center. Some would argue that it is not favorable to have in Moraga because of the people it brings, but what does that even mean? Stop being so snobby and racist and what not! It generates much needed revenue to the shopping center and attracts people to the other stores nearby! I go into the Dollar Store in Moraga to get all my greeting cards. During my last 2 trips Arianna was the cashier. Each time she greeted me with a smile, yes you can see it through her face mask, and asked how my day was going. Dollar Store you need to hire many more Arianna's in your store. Dollar Tree is a pretty good dollar store. Dollar Tree is located in one of the large shopping centers in Moraga. Parking is ample. The store is fairly large and offered a variety of items - all for a dollar! We stopped by the Dollar Tree to find some things for New Year's and decided to browse the whole store - we ended up finding a few things to purchase and were very excited to find our total bill to be under $10.00! read more

Love this place. Everything is a $1.00! Go there at least 3-5 times a week. Kids school stuff, birthday balloons, cards, and just some crap we probably don't need. A little short staffed at times but it's hard to predict when it will be busy. Some times it's a ghost town and others a crazy madhouse. Polite staff and clean store. Probably one of the nicest Dollar Tree stores, although somewhat smaller than most I've visited and not crowded with shoppers. Plenty of parking. Suprisingly wide selection of items all priced at $1. Some terrific bargains here on such things as batteries, cleaning products, arts and crafts, office supplies, storage containers, kitchen and hardware, personal hygiene items, etc. Worth a visit if you happen to be in Moraga, Lafayette or Orinda. Very disappointed with the customer service. The employee thy spoke to me was not acting professionaly. I Repeatedly asked her for the name of her manager, she simply would not tell me.I then called the store trying to get the name of the manager she yelled at me on the phone and told me I did not have an issue as she felt she resolved it, so there was no reason for her to give me the name of the Manager, she then hung up on me. I called back and asked again to speak with the manager she then hung up on me after yelling at me that "I have had a line of customers , stop calling, you don't need to speak to a Manager. Needless to say, I was very offended and extremely disappointed. If anyone can help me get the name of the general manager, that would great as I would like to voice my complaint. Will never shop there again. I have since spoken to The manager she was very helpful and spoke to me and a wonderful tone and told me she was very sorry. She took my complaint serious and I hope something will be done about it as I don't wish to ever be treated like that again. read more

This place didn't impress me a bit since they are a much smaller location than the one in pleasant hill. They don't even play music and its awkward...made me want to leave. They don't offer too many products and I would rather drive to the pleasant hill location. read more

The dollar tree is a great destination for preschool teachers needing cheap materials for school projects. My most recent purchases were glowsticks for our "mini-rave" during a rainy day (great way to release all that energy when cooped up inside the classroom), and ornaments for our class Christmas tree. Clean. Some of the staff is terrific. Some, not so terrific. Very convenient when in Lamorinda. Why two stars? Because the place out on Clayton Road (the 99cent Store) is fantastic, and in addition to having 3 times the selection, it has lower prices. How's that possible? Well, whereas Dollar Tree gives you 6 mini MilkyWays, the other place gives you 8. Also, the other place has just amazing stuff. Many things that are closeouts, or overstocks of high end products. And if you're going to actually go to a dollar store, might as well go the best. Also, they have tons of fresh produce. Sometimes pineapples, beautiful artichokes.
