We stopped here to grab some items before a an hour long road trip. They had everything that we needed. It was, however, unfortunate that the lip glosses were locked up and we could not access the makeup without having a store staff member unlock the displays. This is very disappointing and an inconvenience. I realize that this is a high crime area, but the insult to the paying customer is a bigger message received. The staff was very customer service friendly and they were very happy to be of service. The store is clean and very well organized. This pharmacy i give it a 2 star bc of their bad customer service ! First you call and have to be talking with a robot which gives you a few options , so you ask to speak to live agent and robot transfers you and you wait and wait for someone to respond and never happens! If i need to speak to live person is bc i live far and have to make sure everyone of my meds is ready to pick up, you can't rely on that robot bc twice it has told me my meds are ready to pickup and i go and there is nothing ready!!! I was assigned to this CVS Pharmacy because I needed to pick up my prescription medication today on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 6:30 PM. This my first time visiting this CVS Pharmacy location in National City, CA. I called my medical insurance company to reserve a FREE RIDE from my house to this CVS Pharmacy. I arrived on time tonight to my destination. Then I walked into the front door and I walked towards the back area of this CVS Pharmacy. There was about 25 customers in line waiting at the pick up line. Finally it was my turn, Vivian the pharmacy technician helped me to process my prescription medication. Then Vivian said there is no charge or no co-payment for me picking up my prescription medication today. I was happy about the outcome. Then Vivian told me that my primary care doctor wants me to take these shots for these things like the Whopping Cough, the Flu Shot, and a Covid-19 vaccine. I told Vivian I am going to talk to my new primary care physician next week when I go see him for an office visit to follow up on my current medical condition. Vivian gave me excellent customer service today. Then I looked around for their sales on CVS Pharmacy's food products. There are always discounts on everything in their store, I bought these 2 boxes of Nature Valley Protein Bars that includes Peanut Butter, Almonds, and Dark Chocolate. The sale is advertised as 2 boxes for $5.00. I also bought one box of 12 quantity Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Sandwich Cookies. The regular price is $2.19. And finally I bought one package of Kettle Corn. The sale price was $1.99. I received some really great deals on these 4 food items. I waited in line again a second time to have my 4 items rung up on the cash register. Claudia was my cashier for tonight, Claudia asked if I gave their Red Extra Care Discount Membership Card? I said YES. Then I took this card out of my walking and I gave it to Claudia. Claudia then gave me some great discounts off my 4 food products. It is locked up they had to page an employee which took forever. If you like prime energy drink they have cases . I did find this deal non contact thermo for my dog . I would recommend if you have to get a prescription or need to grab something quick if you really need it or just want to look for clearance items . This CVS is convenient because it's open 24-hours but the customer service is poor. The trash outside is always over flowed. It's not very sanitary. Then their isn't a cashier up front 90% of the time, they have a sign that says push button for assistance. Sometimes I can't even find anyone to assist and you have no one covering the front honestly I wouldn't walk out without paying but that is inviting unwanted attention when no one is watching the door or the register. Also the parking structure is very unsanitary, smells bad to. A lot of stuff seems to be out of stock or low so looks empty all the time. I only shop here for convenience but that's it. I went in tonight, and apologize profusely, but can't remember the person working the prescription intake window. I had to call around to see who had what I needed, and they had it. Not only was I met with a very friendly intake person, she was very professional and helped expedite my prescription so that my dog that is in severe pain, would sleep well tonight. This CVS is bilingual and has bilingual products. They are always busy especially the pharmacy. There are a lot of items under lock and key. Overall the service was okay, it did take a little while to get another cashier to the front, with a long line down the aisle. read more

I've been dealing with my insurance for a while now, and every time I visit, I'm blessed to speak with Nilou (Lulu), who has been such a tremendous help. She is incredibly knowledgeable about how insurance and pharmacy systems work, and she always takes the time to treat you like family not just a customer. Believe me, there's a big difference. Nilou has a true gift for communicating with people. She explains problems clearly and provides solutions or the steps needed to get your medication, all while being extremely understanding and empathetic. She's definitely one of the reasons I've recommended this pharmacy to my friends because of the consistently positive experience I've had with her. My most recent issue involved having two accounts with different numbers. Nilou was able to merge my accounts, which allowed me to get my medication quickly using the barcode line. What is the one place where you can get the emergency needs and with the medications that can be purchased for the kids that are sick late at night when most other pharmacies are closed? That has been one question that I see on many faces with the many mothers and fathers they have sick kids and its late yes, it's time to go to the nearest CVS. With the many CVS stores and the pharmacies, I see many that have such great items and the quick items that if you need milk or the cereals that kids may need, and the creative sales that CVS has so many creative gifts. The many pharmacies that work with the many hospitals with the many doctors that have some of the best work, yet the special ones can be the best when they can get the needed prescriptions to be filled. CVS is one special company that can help with getting the information that can help those that may need to have the directions from the pharmacies. The many cities here in San Diego and around the county have some of the large pharmacies and many with the older building with the crowded conditions with the short staff which I had found at the CVS store at 1201 East Plaza Blvd. Walking up through the parking lot it was not the best with a small parking area with a drive thru lane seeing many cars that were not waiting. Close location to the main street and the many busses that run down through East Plaza Blvd the building you can't see the front with the many trees covering the front entrance. The location it was one place with the front of the store it was not clean with the conditions of the carpeting and the many displays that were not priced with carts of products that were left out in the isles. The many other stores the ones which have been cleaned and organized walking the store there was no one to ask for help and the products should be stocked the store was not the best. For the store to have a pharmacy the medical supplies of many products and the special needs of products with the organized areas there was products in the wrong areas. The walk around inside the store it showed me to see customers opening boxes on the floor no other workers helping with customer service. Going through the pharmacy it was very quick to see the many workers in the back with the many workers that were on mask protocol. I saw there was rules being followed in many stores yet to see a CVS dirty and the store that was not stocked and with the many isles crowded with merchandise some on the floor and the shelves. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer this one location was not something that many would like to see with a store that is not organized and with the cashiers worked three times as hard. To see many stores which are clean and this one was the not welcoming for being a dirty store. This pharmacy is a JOKE! I thought it was cool in the beginning because there was a drive-thru & open 24hrs. NOPE! I have never been to a pharmacy that takes as long as the time they do. Drive thru takes forever, going inside takes forever. Never spend less than 30mins here to pick up my prescriptions. The first time I've ever been here, waited in drive thru line for 30mins+ only for them to tell me I needed to go inside the store pharmacy to process THEIR fuck up. Like you seriously couldn't do what you needed to do at the drive thru window? After I've waited so goddamn long!? Went inside & there was a big ass line. Spent over 15-20mins in line. Went up to the counter finally & was already annoyed with having to go in store & all + the 50+mins I already had to wait. Because THEY decided to pick which insurance to bill my son's medication. Keep in mind, this is my FIRST visit. Wouldn't you think to ask me first! Then had to move to the other side while they make calls (to verify insurances) - I would think all this would be done prior to me picking up as well as confirming which insurance I wanted to utilize. The cashier/pharmacy tech that was helping me was kind enough to advise me as soon as they receive verification I could be next so I didn't have to wait in line all over again. Main pharmacist for approvals, older lady spoke to me as if I'm dumb & was trying to give me an attitude for their mistake. I get you're under pressure due to long & constant back to back customers. But that's not my problem neither. I waited an hour to get some damn meds on my first visit! Second time I went there, same long waits. I thought going in store would be quicker than drive thru, so I attempted to go in store thinking let me give them another chance. Nope, same thing. Horrendous wait times. Expect to be there for a minimum of 30mins. I've been here a 3-4xs due to it being the closest location to where I resided. But never again. I would never recommend this pharmacy to anyone! Rude Customer Service. Pharmacist on duty on December 27, 2025, specifically the male who picked up the call at 19:13pm (you know who you are because you clearly told me that you were a pharmacist). This experience had me awestruck because this pharmacist was not willing to listen to my inquiry about (tripolodine/pseudoephedrine) of which i verbalized multiple times, and was adamantly insisting to speak about a different medication (benzonatate) that i clearly said i did not want to talk about, and while i was still speaking, hung up the call on me. i was concise and respectful with him but he was plain rude. my experience with this professional made me feel unwanted. im very disappointed to have experienced your customer service. read more

And there's another lady , she calls herself Lily , no last name, I'd inverted won't show her name at the drop off counter! Gave her all The id she needed and still Couldn't figure out what to do, my client needed an eye antibiotic so bad , she's 6months pregnant, ucsd said order was put in at 1pm, I finally got the medicine at 8:30pm. This is one of the CVS stores I frequent often. Plenty of parking in front and on both sides of the entrance. They also have a drive through pharmacy for pick up orders which is nice for people who don't want to bother getting out of their vehicle. Never thought of writing a review for them but stopped by quickly today to get a medication for my mom and was surprisingly amazed at what a great attitude a cashier named Rafael had while checking out a long line full of customers. I personally wasn't in a hurry as many others might have been but he did his best in trying to check out 2 customers at a time in different cash registers. He was quick, efficient and still very personable in asking how our days went. I always say customer service goes a long way and that is why I continue to shop here all the time for the convenience and the service. I will say there is days I've stopped by and it does feel understaffed however, I appreciate the ability to have a store where I can grab a birthday card or medicine quick without having to go to a target or larger mall. read more

Set up an appointment for 3am because this was the only time slot available. Received email CONFIRMATION for 3am. Called thebpruor day to confirm my 3 am appointment. Woke my ass up at 215am to get to 3am appointment. Arrived 10 minutes prior to appointment. Store fully locked up. 5 minutes before 3qm appointment drove to deive thru and was told, "THE PHARMACIST IS AT LUNCH, COME BACK AT 330AM." Srsly? You think I wanted to wake up at 215am and drive to your store for a 3am appointment? How do you say you have no control over the automated appointment system? Your system takes all my personal information and sets the fucking time and you're telling me that you don't see my 3am appointment? How convenient that the PHARMACIST is on lunch until 330am. I'm sure lunch is either taken as soon as i arrived and the PHARMACIST is taking a minimum of 30 minutes, if a whole hour lunch, then obviously you were not paying attention to the scheduling system or thought you could get away with not taking my 3am appointment. I'll give it two stars because it's not real bad but closing the store at Washington at 11:00 instead of being 24 hours sucks so I have to go to the University Ave 24-hour pharmacy and they suck. This is the worst pharmacy ever! I tried to go back every time and hope for the best but nope they are not worthy of even one star. Let's star with the long lines to pick up meds wether it's drive thru or inside at least 1 hr wait. Then it seems they never have the prescriptions ready and they spend 20 minutes with each costumer. This last time I waited 1 hr and 20 minutes and when I got home I got only 3 pills instead of the full rx so I had to call wait on hold another 20 minutes and was told to go back in 30. anyway I go back today wait another 50 minutes get to the register and guess what? My rx is not even in the system!!!! They had all night to do it WTH is going on there and they are short staffed, moody and OMG i will never come back thank god I have no chronic conditions were I need meds every single month because I would probable get a heart attack at some point. To the female pharmacist who refuse to provide her name that worked on 1/1/2021, you give the profession of pharmacy a bad name and should really do some self reflection. If you hate your job so much, then quit. If you need to work to make a living, then do a good job worth your pay grade. There are many compassionate and competent pharmacists out there that would excel at your job, who would not turn their patients away without listening to your patients and doing the proper research, who would go the extra mile to ensure that urgent medications are provided in a timely manner, who knows how to communicate with their patients and staff like a civilized human being. National City CVS is open 24 hours. First, I would like to say I received Outstanding customer service from Monique (cashier) & Martin (manager). Both Welcome me & asked if I needed assistance. Good vibes here. Store is well maintained. There's also a pharmacy drive thru. Today I came in to turn in my coins to a amazon gift card. Using the Coin Star. Note: When you choose the gift card option there's no fee is counting your coins. That's the best deal in town. Most banks got rid of the the coin counting machines. Unless you do it old school. Count them & wrap them with roll paper from the bank. Coin Star is the way to go. read more
