Absolutley horrible and incompetent. They take forever to fill medications and get really confused if you have more then one script. For example I have a Script I requested a refill for online, no contact from the pharamacy, tried calling multiple times with 15 min wait calls before giving up. Then went in a WEEK after the request for them to tell me that they needed a new script for the medication. They didnt call or text about it, and online it shows I've only used 1/3 refills. I came here to get a greeting card and a gift card. Reading about this location's pharmacy from previous reviews is almost comical. However, in terms of greeting card selection, it was a bit sparse. Not as much as I'm used to and I wish there were a few more options. Also, I went to purchase a Disney Parks gift card and was told by the checkout person that the store policy is that gift cards can only be purchased by debit or cash. Huh? Apparently, people have been stealing credit cards and using them to purchase gift cards so this is the store's countermeasure against that. Fair warning to any of you who want to buy a gift card here with a credit card. I'm unsure as to whether this policy applies to all CVS stores so try supermarkets or other pharmacies as alternatives. read more

This place gets 5 stars from me because of its decent quality film processing. That's really the only reason why I go here. CVS/pharmacy is one of the few remaining local stores that still processes film. They've never failed me when it comes to developing my latest shots. My negatives always return scratch-less, and the prints are always pretty acceptable. Unlike Wal-Mart. Don't even think about going there for your film processing needs. I never have to worry about long lines because there's a separate customer service area for photo-related transactions (but you can bring other items there too). The people behind the desk are always nice to me, and if there's no one there, I just press a nice big red button off to the side that gets someone to the desk within 30 seconds. CVS/pharmacy gets my 5 star props for their good cashiers, and great photo service. (They even sell HD and B&W film!) read more

Hello Michael Store Manager and Mark Pharmacy Specialist, After leaving the store Friday morning I knew this was a lost cause. But if I am wrong about that assumption, I will take this down. I am considering never going into another CVS store to buy anything again unless its the only store open. I did it for a number of years. At least 10 if not more like 15. After driving all the way home calling my doctors office and then all the way back to the store when I approached the counter I asked for the district managers full name and phone number. The Pharmacist totally ignored me and told me he was the lead Pharmacist. I obviously was very agitated (described it in page 1) He asked (3) three times the exact same question. He asked me once, then repeated the question "Did the medication amount change" and I told him very clearly and distinctly "NO the amount has NOT changed". So when he asked me again, with everything else that had already happened, I had it. I answered the question and each time I said it I told him to call my Pharmacist. Along with my request for the name of the district manager and his contact information along with pleading with him to just fill the script, I went back because I did not have my piece of paper or the DM name & number. At no time did anyone ever simply offer me the name and number of the manager or DM and fill the script (after I answered the pharmacists question twice very clearly) and send me on my way. THAT is ALL I wanted. So I apologize for getting upset like I did. But that was the circumstances and obviously it "contributed" to my anger that I answered TWICE very clearly his question with "NO The amount of the medications have NOT changed at all". I want to know why it was necessary to keep asking me the same question over and over. The bottom line: Your Pharmacist is the one most at fault in the incident yesterday for ignoring me and my request, not accepting my first answer the first time he asked me if the amount had changed and for not calling the Doctor office like I told him to do. You know how I believe this could have been completely avoided? When I first went into the store IF the woman at the cash register said to me the following: "Oh you know what, you're a regular customer that has been coming here for months so instead of tossing your script back at you and telling you to go to your Doctor office (Walnut Creek is clearly on the script) why don't I call or one of my co workers call and show you excellent customer service?? That way, you can avoid a 2 hour drive to your doctor with a 3 minute phone call be resolved! It will only take a couple of minutes to get this all cleared up. Thank you for your patience." How about that? One should NOT have to go through this to get their medications filled. Seriously. read more

My doctor's office called in two prescriptions for me. I never got a text my prescriptions were ready so I had to make a special trip to check on them the next day. The pharmacist told me my other prescription wasn't ready. When I called to check on the other prescription the person who answered the phone, Jerry, was very rude. He couldn't find the other prescription and told me to calm down. I was concerned not excited. That was rude of him. He was extremely emotional and went on to VERY LOUDLY say my name, dob, telephone number and home address. I have no idea how many customers were able to hear my PERSONAL INFORMATION. That was in violation of the HIPAA Privacy Act and illegal. Finally he gave the phone to the pharmacist who said she had never told me my second prescription wasn't ready. She lied. I know exactly what she said. I called my doctor's office and they said the pharmacy refused to take the prescription for the second medication and the doctor had to call in that prescription. CVS is very unprofessional, unorganized and rude not to mention they violate the HIPAA Privacy Act and do not protect customers private information. read more

I only go here for the pharmacy since it's close by. It's convenient because an automated system calls you to let you know it's ready to be picked up. Only problems I've ever had here is when they forget to send me that message. So I'm half and half on this place. As far as the products (ie. makeup, nail polish, hair products, girl stuff) I'd go to Target for the same item at a lower price. BUT, they did have a random sale if you purchased a case of water you could buy a 18 pack of Budweiser for a penny. Random enough for you? I can't lie about this one, folks. I needed a prescription filled, and this was the closest pharmacy to where I was at. When I dropped it off around 3:30 PM, they told me to check back that evening to see if it would be ready. I went the next morning, and it was there. The pharmacy has several pharmacists and assistants, but they are overwhelmed by the volume of customers. There were six people in line when I dropped of my prescription, and at least that many more milling around waiting for their prescriptions to be prepared. Even in the morning when they opened, it was getting busy. Surprisingly the pharmacy is the best part of the store. The remainder of CVS is sad. I remember how much I loved the former Long's that once inhabited it's space. Even when Payless and Rite-Aid came in after Long's, before CVS began the occupation, they were decent choices. CVS put in these appalling carpet squares. Before there was an inviting waxed floor. Some of the carpet squares are stained, dirty or just in need of replacement. There is also a lot of unused space throughout the store, putting one in a disoriented state when roaming the store searching for something. And to get an item for the cheaper price listed, you need to have one of their ExtraCare cards. Some other stores will scan a temporary card for you if you don't have one to get the discount, but here they make you pay the higher price for not having the card. Almost all of the customers in the store were using the pharmacy, so the lone employee at the check out register felt forsaken. Hopefully another drugstore will open up in this neighborhood. Raley's supermarket may be a better choice for filling a prescription; they are just across the street. read more

Absolute worst pharmacy I've ever been to. My doctor called in two prescriptions 6 hours prior to me showing up. Only one was fIlled, woman at the register said the other would take 10 minutes. 2 hours of waiting with my toddler later, it's still not filled and everyone who showed up after me has already had theirs filled. read more

This place is a joke. They filled a partial part of my prescription and when I went back the next day to get the other part ( anotherprescription), they offered me the same prescription again which by the way was oxycontin, ( yipee for me) but my percocet was still not ready.. had to wait another day. Called again the next day.. asked if my prescription was ready... they said yes, we have your oxycotin ready for you. ( yipee for me again!) percocet uhmmmm not sure is ready.. put me on hold....... 10 minutes later... they have to order it special in the a.m. and won't be in till tomorrow. WTF... this is a crackheads dream if they were going to give me all th at oxy! ( I know, they would have caught on eventually) We will have to see what tomorrow brings.... what a joke! Waited a whole hour the first time, which was supposed to be 1/2 hour. these poor clerks are running with their heads cut off. I'm NEVER going here again to use the pharmacy. Every time I call, I'm on hold for at least 8 minutes. One time, someone picked up the phone and hung up on me. The last 3 times I had my doctor send a prescription/refill, they didn't have the prescription ready hours later. Once, they said they needed to call my doctor to verify something and they never called me me back that day. A couple days later, they called with with an automated message, saying my prescription was ready. I had my doctor send a refill this morning and dropped by late afternoon because it is so close to my house. They told me it wasn't ready and I'd have to wait 10 minutes. Something about my insurance changing policies, but Walgreens seems to have no problems refilling my prescriptions. read more

A change in my prescription benefit plan resulted in my need to switch from Walgreens to CVS. Boy was I surprised at the difference. The pharmacist at CVS worked with me personally to move the prescription from Walgreens. Moreover, the medication that I take is one where the generics are not interchangeable. After I realized that the wrong generic had been used to fill the prescription and I had explained the situation to the pharmacist, the pharmacist apologized, graciously refilled the prescription with the correct generic, and put a note in my file to ensure that only the correct generic is used from now on. I do not remember ever receiving such personal attention from a pharmacist before, and I highly recommend CVS to all who are interested. read more

The Pharmacy were so nice to me when the ER gave me 4 prescriptions for my shoulder. I was struggling to find the heating pad and they told me where, they got me my prescriptions in 15min, and they let me set my heating pad and meds down on their counter while I waited because my sling arm was weak. Then, leaving the store they ran after me to give me easy open lids for my meds because I can only use 1 hand right now. So so nice and glad I've been doing meds here for months. I ended up driving 15 miles to go to this pharmacy for my Covid vaccine. They were very well organized in every respect, EXCEPT . . . there was no public restroom. Because of the distance and the importance of this appointment, I left an extra half hour, so I was away from home for an hour before and an hour after my vaccination appointment time. Now doctors are recommending that you drink lots of water before going for your vaccination appointment. I would be crazy to do that when I'm going to a place without a public restroom! And I'm sure I'm not the only one with a long drive to this pharmacy! read more

At their busiest time (between 3-6pm Mondays & Tuesdays), I was on the phone with Ken, the Pharmacy Manager, and he checked on the computer if each & everyone of my mom's prescription medicine was approved by insurance for a refill before I head out there. Last night I decided to pick up a few things at local CVS. The door rent-a-cop decides to allow me to come in after a little decision about the correct time. Reply's sure take your time with attitude. Quickly got my things, then rent-a-cop, decides to play a game and wont let me out and keeps the door locked even with clerk now telling them to stop playing around. This review is solely for the Pharmacy team who help the customers out for drop-off and pickup. I came in for vaccination and somehow it didn't go thru my insurance. The pharmacist (I am forgetting her name..apologies! I believe she was Punjabi) was persistent and tried to run thru my insurance multiple times and also called the back-end teams to check on it. All this happened in front of me. I then called the insurance and she also spoke with the insurance guy. Even after all the efforts, somehow it was not working. She was extremely patient and offered me some options. She was not rushing thru the entire transaction and wanted to make sure I am comfortable signing up for vaccination and getting it reimbursed later. Just fantastic! I must update.. The new pharmacy has been remarkable, The staff is "on it" completely now. I have had nothing but, wonderful experiences with all of my pharmacy needs. The manager has led this team with complete professionalism and great follow through. No more ..... NOT ready perscriptions... Not long lines... .No more confusion from the Raleys' transferred customers... I can't believe the difference in service.. it's really fantastic. the rest of the store still needs help with the old rugs, space and even high prices. This pharmacy has nothin but problems since CVS took over Long's. My meds are on automatic refill yet they are never ready. I came in one day at noon and they said they could not release my meds bc the pharmacist was at lunch??? really so then they should say WE DO NOT SELL DRUGS WHEN THE PHARMACIST IS AT LUNCH. I was pissed. I had just called 3 minutes prior (sick as a dog) and told her I was on my way, never mentioned that they cannot sell the RX when the pharmacist is not there. They never take accountability for their mistakes. I went yesterday to pick one up that was called in the day prior. The lazy pharm tech asked the other two ppl and no one could find it. They made me wait 10 minutes before they decided to re run the order. CVS pharmacy sucks! Just a big headache every month.....I'm lookin for a new paharmacy! read more

This is a terrible pharmacy. When I call in a refill or the doctor calls one in days before I go in, they still don't have the prescription ready, and I have to wait on a long line. When I call on the phone to talk to a staff member, they put me on hold for 15 minutes, and then I have to call them back on another phone, while I am still on hold with the original phone, hoping that this time, they won't put me back on hold. It is difficult for me to stand on line, since I am andicapped. They need to hire more people. read more

I've been to atleast 3-4 cvs pharmacies and their shelves seem empty all the time and they try to promote and push their own brand of medication. I helped get prescriptions filled for a family member earlier this year and the guy Ronish looked at the paper given to us by the doctor and said that all 5 will be ready by or after 1pm. It was 10am. So, we had to cancel another appointment so we can pick up the medication that day. After 3 hrs, I called the pharmacy and the lady said they only have three. It made me so mad. They said the med center didn't send 2 of the prescriptions. If the guy, RONISH, told us right from the start that they didn't have the prescriptions, we could have went to the med center to follow up. So now, I had to go to the med center to tell them and then go back to cvs. When I got o cvs, this guy didn't even have the decency to apologize. Is it that difficult to apologize and admit that he should have mentioned the missing prescriptions in the beginning when he was looking at the list??? Then this guy continue to say that the patient should know which medicine are re-occurring/ already a refill. This is true BUT you should also have the decency and compassion to customers giving you business to say that the system is not able to fill the prescription and to call the physician. Maybe, this is not part of your work description? To be respectful and nice to customers and to explain things to the elderly? We are not mind readers or can't view what is on your computer. It would have only taken 1 minute to say that we didn't get the prescription request from the doctor or we can't fill this prescription and to call the doctor. I can tell that by how he talks to the customers (no eye contact, no hello, no how may I help you, all data entry) that this guy doesn't like his job or is not customer service oriented. If you are not happy with your job, please do something else in the organization. You are not asked to be friends with the customers but you must be customer service oriented and have the empathy especially working in a pharmacy department. Good news is that, the negative attitude does not spread to other cvs pharmacies as I went to a different one a few days later and it was like night and day. This review is for the pharmacy. My physician sent 2 medications to be filled here. I got a call from CVS saying that my prescription was ready for pickup. I went to go pick it up a few days later and only 1 of the medications was filled as the other was on backorder or something and would take longer. It would have saved me a trip if they had let me know that only 1 out of 2 had been filled. The second time I went here was also to pick up 2 medications. I requested refills via their website and received an email confirmation that both would be ready for pickup the next day. I also received a call. I went a couple days later and AGAIN, only one of these was ready for pickup...apparently there was an insurance issue with the other but no one ever contacted me. The woman behind the counter looked bored as hell as she told me about the insurance issue. She said they would contact the doctor to figure it out but they did not and I had to do it myself. Which is fine. But I don't understand why they said that they would contact when they obviously did not. I would not recommend going here. Poor communication and rude pharmacy staff. I would probably call and verify that your medications are indeed ready for pick up because obviously their email and phone confirmations are inaccurate. read more

Was waiting for a call lol for my son's prescription to be ready. Was in the area, so I thought I'd stop by to check on it. Come to find out, coverage rejected the prescription. Why didn't we receive a call notifying us? How long is my son supposed to continue being sick before he gets his meds? This isn't customer service. read more

I like this cvs only because my carpool meets here and its convenient for when I need my morning monster or snacks for work or the birthday card I forgot to get! Its average cost compared to other drug stores but I dont like that they don't offer the same sales as say the cvs on fremont blvd. But, when it's right there sometimes convenience overshadows price. read more

Went into the store today to get my little brother a medical ID bracelet. I Checked online before going to the store and it said they had it in stock. I looked around the store for a while before asking Deloris for some help. When I asked she looked at me funny and said check isle 20, I asked her nicely if she can look in the computer for it she said no go check isle 20. I walked over to isle 20 the feminine/family planning isle and found no ID bracelet.(I already knew it wasn't going to be there) I walked back up to the front asked another cashier named Juan for some help. The store is great but the pharmacy is not so good, probably the worst pharmacy I've ever gone too, I think it's because they are under staffed but it's been under staffed forever......you have to wait too long to get your medicine. Ugh! go ahead and avoid this pharmacy and save your sanity and hours of your life! sooooo slow! are they understaffed or just completely incompetent?!? perhaps, both! I've only used this pharmacy twice and I will NOT ever return... i don't care how close they are to my home. Both times i've had prescriptions filled here, the wait has been ridiculous. I also waited on hold, when i called, for over 25 mins! I waited in line for the guy to look up my insurance, only to not find it. So, instead of asking me to verify the information, he calls the insurance company directly,. sits on hold for over 10 mins all to find out my daughter's dob was incorrect, therefore not allowing him to find our info in the system..... He could have ASKED me and saved us tons of time! Every time I go there, the wait is long and those working there are moving slow! Severely mentally and intellectually challenged staff. Today was the final straw: first they repeatedly didn't find the prescriptions which clearly got faxed there, and then they didn't wanna call the insurance at first, probably because they were angry that I'm taking future business to a mail-order pharmacy. I finally got the medication, 2 prescriptions, and then one of them was filled with the wrong medication! I will never go back to that place, there's no telling what they do, I have no confidence that they even dispense the right meds. Stay away from this place, America is overserved with pharmacies! Easy to find another place. If anybody from CVS corporate reads this, that place needs to be audited, replace the entire staff. Not the first bad thing that's happened there. read more

This CVS Pharmacy Newark is the most worst pharmacy ever.Because it's on automatic refill, there is a voice mail record calling, that its ready for pick up for Meds but by the time you pick them up its not yet ready .One of the staff don't believed on me that it's ready for pick up.I told her I've received a call ready to pick up the meds.Good thing I didn't delete the voice mail recorder and let her hear it.And she told me "I'm sorry .Can you wait an hour? I have never seen more unprofessional store employees in my entire life. I go to store looking for a hair clippers. The store employee points me to area where they should be but there is none so he tells me that he is gonna go look in back without me asking. He brings one out that I didn't want and I told him politely that I am sorry but I am looking for a different one. So, he gets pissed and tells his coworker that I wasted his time and I overheard that and told him that I am sorry that he felt that I wasted his time and that was not really professional behavior. When I asked to speak to manager, a young guy with a pony tail emerged from back and asks what happened. I told him the story and instead of acknowledging that the other employee acted unprofessionally, he tells me that I technically I did wasted his time and he I want to complain, I should call the CVS headquarters (which I will) and told me to get out. read more

Terrible Pharmacy center. It's always dirty, dusty, and disorganized. I request for 4 pm pick up. 7 pm they still do not have my meds. This place is better off run by monkies.
