We have had very bad service from CVS since they bought Longs. But, the Grant Road Pharmacy is the WORST of them all. I was just on hold for 25 minutes and they never answered. The staff is rude and condescending. Service is rotten. Frequent turnover of pharmacists. Promise your Rx is ready to pickup and it is not. You wait in line for 20 minutes. We finally had it and switched to another pharmacy. read more

Another trip to CVS during race weekend at Somona Raceway. Luckily most CVS's are all the same and you know what to expect.

This is the absolute worst CVS store I have ever been to. The 5 times that I've been here I have had a poor experience. The staff is slow, they don't do a good job at acknowledging you, and often does not have a medication in stock (and these are basic formulary drugs). I don't find them friendly or helpful in the least bit. One time I've waited an hour just to be told they hadn't started working on my prescription. I believe they are either understaffed or incompetent. I strongly discourage you from utilizing this pharmacy. I've come here out of convenience only to be inconvenienced. I worked for a pharmacy for 9 years and this is the absolute worst customer service I've ever witnessed. And don't attempt to call in advance. I spent 47 minutes on the phone waiting only to have someone answer and hang up on me. I called back and spent another 13 minutes in the queue before they even picked up. They don't deserve a single Star but I can't post unless I assign at least one. read more

I find it extremely unprofessional that a pharmacist would try to rush a patient off the phone before they can even finish asking their question. I had picked up my prescription earlier than usual and received multiple texts to come and pick up another one, this has happened once before and it caused an issue for me when I went to pick up my meds at the correct time because they didn't want to release it to me. While I was trying to explain my concern the man cut me off, and kept trying to rush me off the phone. I understand there are other customers but if I've already been put on hold and waited my turn it would be nice to be treated with the decency that i (hopefully) would've received had I been there in person. And the only reason I even called the location is because I'm at home sick with the flu! For how much a pharmacist gets paid, you would think they'd be a little more courteous and professional. I dropped off a prescription for a painkiller for my husband at 6 p.m. I go at noon the next day to pick it up, on our way home from the hospital. They tell me it's not ready and I have to wait at least 30 minutes. SERIOUSLY???? I feel sorry for the employees who are overworked, understaffed, and more than likely underpaid. But this is absolutely inexcusable. I'm switching to a non-CVS pharmacy. read more

Pharmacy has been going down hill for years. I think they are at bottom or close to it. It has to be dragging the rest of the store down. I moved to one of their competitors across town. 9 years I went here. Long lines, miserable counter help and grumpy Pharmacists. 9 long years. My happy ending is that I transferred my records over to Pharmaca next to Trader Joe's with little effort and no expense. They are friendly and skilled. Wasted 9 long years. read more

The lady who rings up the prescriptions, blonde hair and glasses, is just delightful. She is always pleasant. But the last two times I filled at this CVS I ran into several issues, some of which were not the pharmacists fault and some could have completely been prevented. They don't communicate well with the other techs so if you have a prescription you need filled early for travel on Sunday and you go in there and have your doctor call of Thursday, expect whoever works on Sunday will be completely unaware of this, the prescription not be ready and give you nothing but issues. Also don't expect the pharmacists to advocate for their patients here, they would rather not pick up the phone and make the effort. Instead you have to do it yourself and then beg them to do something to fix the issue. For being in the business of taking care of sick people and their medications you guys don't seem like you care much. read more

I had an overall unpleasant experience at this CVS location on Grant Avenue in Novato. The shelves are frequently not stocked and unorganized, but this was not the main problem during my trip here. Approaching the register, there was only one cashier/register open and available, and had a line of 5 people despite there being another employee that could have helped. Instead, she stood there, watched the line move incredibly slowly, and did nothing to offer help. Upon approaching the cashier when it was my turn to pay for my items, the employee, her name was Gina (blondish hair and glasses), told me, "I'm going to need a phone number from your mommy." Rather than politely asking if I had a CVS card or phone number, she told me she needed one from my mom. Note: I am 17 years old, and for all she knows, I could have my own phone number and card. I gave her the phone number, and she proceeded to scan my items. She repeatedly said, "your mommy is gonna want to use her card so mommy can get her rewards." This made me rather uncomfortable considering she does not know me or my mother. She also repeatedly called me "sweetie" and "honey." She spoke in a rather condescending and disrespectful manner toward me; it was very unprofessional. While there was no problem with purchasing my items, there was a significant problem with the customer service here. I don't appreciate being spoken to in this manner, and I definitely don't appreciate having an interaction as if she knows anything about me, or speaking to me as if I'm stupid. I won't be interacting with Gina again in the future. Instead, I'll be waiting for another employee to help me or just go to a different CVS location. I'm disappointed in the way this transaction went and very disappointed in the lack of basic customer service skills of the employees here. Hopefully, this can be changed. read more

The store gets two stars because the check out clerk was friendly and courteous. I've done all my CVS shopping at the Red Hill, San Anselmo store until now so I was shocked by this one. Are these franchises? If they are run by a central corporation it's really clear that the big corp guys think Novato is not worth investing any money in stock or infrastructure. Compared to the San Anselmo store the selection was paltry and the overall feel of the store is tired and run down. Really pathetic! read more

This pharmacy is horrible!!!! I've been using them for a good 10 years and for the past six to eight months they have gone down hill so fast. The only person who knows what they are doing and gets things done is Barbara! She's amazing! But sadly, if she's not working it seems like nothing gets done. They've been saying for months that they are short staffed and put the blame on very important prescriptions not being filled for days, sometimes weeks on that and it's ridiculous. People's heart conditions, lung conditions and seizures are not something to mess around with. You provide life saving medications and just because you're understaffed doesn't mean that it's okay to not get these medications filled when requested. Every time I go in there's always an extremely long line with one person working and the kicker is that usually one or two of those people finally get up to the counter just to be told their prescription isn't ready and the response the pharmacy get is "I asked to have this medication filled days ago!" Unacceptable!! Get Barbara some help in there and get this pharmacy back to how it was! This is really getting out of hand. read more
