The wait time after was a bit uncomfortable as you're in an aisle... I happened to be in the tampon aisle so that wasn't really anything fun to look at haha. There are no words to describe the poor service that is continually received, and this will be the last time we enter this facility. Confused medications, typing, wrong insurance information, claims to fill within a small window of time turns into hours of unnecessarily waiting. I've never felt compelled to put a mark on a Yelp review as I do for the store. I am so sad that something so close to my home is so poor because I would really like to use the store. The pharmacist is verbally abusive. He told me the prescription I was trying to refill didn't exist and wasn't on my medication history. He argued with me for quite a while about it. He acted like I was lying. He said it won't be approved by insurance and I need to show him a prescription bottle. I again told him the doctor's name, the rx info and that I've filled it many times at cvs. He argued with me saying "I'm looking at your file! it's not here you want to look at it?!" I said I am not lying and I have emails with my doctor to prove it. Then he finally found it. He did not apologize and curtly said he'd take care of it. Check your expiration dates! If you're buying in store or online for store pickup, their items have a very quick expiration date. I picked up a sunscreen (that was locked up) the other day for $39.99 and when I got home, it was going to expire in July 2025 so just 4 short months away. So I did return it because expiration dates should be further out. I ordered a Covid/Sars test online for in store pickup and when I got it home, it expires in August 2025. I like to have them on hand just in case and unfortunately Covid tests are non returnable and non exchangeable so I can't even exchange it for a test that will expire maybe next year. The store manager should manage the store better. read more

Person working the front cash register needs to learn courtesy and manners!! I just left this CVS after literally being forced to use self check out by the woman whom I had to go find for front check out! No one was there so Looked for someone and I had just told her that I don't want to do self check out.....she followed me to the front and when I went to get in the line with two other people she said no, come over here. Again I said I don't do self check out and I don't want to. She said I'm going to help you here. Picked up my mom's prescription for cough. How can a quantity of 12 only be 3 capsules in the container???? How stupid are you not to count and know how to differentiate 12 to 3?? Made an account just because of how horribly treated I was here. Staff is extremely rude. They were extremely rude over the phone and in person. Told me 15 minutes then my medication would be ready. I've been standing here for an hour now and nobody will give me any updates just that I need to wait. I only asked because it had been 45 and I was told 15. I know there's mixed reviews on CVS, but honestly, it is my go to place for my medication, and for a little odds and ends that I may need. He just really need to keep up with the coupons and if you have the app even better! I would never purchase anything full price here without using the coupons because that's what makes it, more of a deal on top of the discount. Without a coupon you will pay quite a bit more. If I were the CVS regional manager, I would close this store. It provides absolutely no value or service that can be considered adequate. They lost my insurance information in their system. I provided them with the info again and they entered it wrong. As a result, I was charged excessive amount of money for my needed drugs. Similar issues have come up with my wife and friends where they received wrong medications or their prescriptions were never filled. It' difficult to say whether employees do not have the necessary training or they are simply incompetent. The pharmacists are rude and have no customer service skills. In short: Rude staff, drive-thru always closed, takes forever to get prescriptions, fax system doesn't work for refill requests. We will be going elsewhere. In depth: I don't take the time to review typically but this place has me making an exception. This pharmacy is the worst. From not getting prescriptions filled in a timely manner, to not having a good system to fax refill requests to the doctors (office never gets them). Every time we have to get a refill we are on the phone repeatedly and for long periods of time between doctors office and pharmacy. We have sat on hold with the pharmacy for 40min before anyone answered then got hung up on. When you do get through, it's usually with a high-stress, frustrated and rude tech. They make non-stop excuses to say they're too busy and there is nothing they can do. Unfortunately, you have to get angry for them to take any action. The drive thru is always out of order for weeks on end and they have "ordered the part" and are waiting. First someone ran into the drawer because they left it extended. Now the second lane pneumatic system is down. I was told corporate has opened COVID testing in the main drive thru. Why would they take on more work when they can't even do the basics as a pharmacy. The whole point of going to this location is the drive thru. People need a safe way to pickup prescriptions during COVID without coming inside. This place is understaffed and corporate only cares to make as much money as possible. They seem callous to the lack of service and indifferent to a tarnished reputation. The turn over makes it clear this place is pure misery to work for and while the employees try their best, it just doesn't cut it when you have a loved one to care for. CVS corporate, get it together and earn people's business or remove the heart from your logo and move aside. read more

Sometimes the pharmacy is ok. Often not. Staff seems harried and overwhelmed. I had a 1PM appointment for my covid booster shot. Confusion seem to reign with the fellow administering the shots. At 1PM he leaves the store. Staff tells us he is going on a half hour lunch break. Several of us waiting just decided to just leave. No confidence vote! This is a great pharmacy. The pharmacists are usually efficient and helpful everytime that I've had to pick up or drop off a prescription. There never seems to be too long of a wait to be helped and they'll put a rush on your prescription if they know you'll be waiting in the store. I also love the fact that they offer a drive-thru pharmacy service. Great option for Moms on the go! It is also very convenient that they sell many items that could be picked up at the spur of the moment while waiting for your prescription versus driving over to Target or Walmart just for one item. Don't forget to sign up for their free CVS card to earn points and get the sales prices on the specials of the week. My daughter and I always enjoy chatting with their cashier, John, who works in the front of the store. He always greets us with a smile and goes that extra mile by drawing a little bunny rabbit for my little girl, which she looks forward to. This review is for the Pharmacy and specifically regarding Covid 19 testing. What I loved: They honored my appt. (This sounds funny but I was turned away by another CVS location with a appt). The lady assisting me with my Covid-19 self test was clear in giving directions for how the test works, quite cheerful and overall provided great service! They even give you a sanitary wipe to lift the lid when you deposit your test at the end. (Since everyone testing is touching that same lid). The process here is well thought out. I left with a very positive experience. Things I did not like: Honestly nothing. I would only suggest getting in the drive thru line 20 to 30 mins before your appt time depending on how many cars are already waiting. In my case there was only 1 car in front of me. I got in line 20 mins early and was only 5 mins past my appt time when I got to the window. Not a big deal. I highly recommend this location. I had the complete opposite experience at a different CVS so that is why I am raving about this one. read more

Made an appointment to get a Covid and flu vaccine. I was sent a text advising that the Covid vaccine was out of stock. Still went in for a flu shot, and was told the Covid vaccine was available. They refused to get it to me as I no longer had an appointment for both even though they were the one that cancelled on me and it was in stock. The CVS Rancho Santa Margarita location is very well organized with helpful staff and a super clean bathroom. The manager helped me figure out how to use the coupons on my app. My mom lives near here and I'm so grateful she has a good CVS to go to. I have lost my patients with CVS. What happened to this place. My doctor called in a very important medication at 9am. I received a test that my Rx is being processed, I go in at 6, in line for 20 minutes, and then told it is a manufacturing issue. To add, the pharmacist told me it will be about one month before it is re- stocked All of this is only one example of the poor customer service. So, remember the pharmacist told me it is manufacturer back order. At this point I had enough. I called the RSM Walmart to see if they had what I needed. Can you give negative stars? The pharmacy and pharmacists here are completely incompetent. If you have surgery or need medicine within a realistic time DO NOT GO HERE. I had my tonsils out my husband dropped off a prescription at 10 am said he needed it ASAP and explained the situation that I just had surgery. Still at 3pm it wasn't ready then at 4 when I'm in excruciating pain he goes in and has to get angry and "oh sorry we were busy" then to try to get a refill they are out of the medication no call nothing still in pain call them to go pick it up "sorry sir it's processing" my husband asked when they would be done. Yelp 100 Challenge 10/100 This is a really small store as compared to their others I have been in. It also has a strange layout and no matter how I often I go I forget where things are located. It appears to be messy, but I don't know if it's because it's so crowded or if, in fact, it is messy. These factors cause the lower rating. A major positive is one female employee who is always there, I need to get her name. She is always so friendly and helpful making sure I'm making use of my CVS coupons. Lordy Lordy where do I begin with this store. Store is a complete train wreck. I went in and purchased some pain killers, a bottle of tea and a protein bar. When I got home I noticed that all three items were expired by at least two months. I talked to the store manager Chris and that guy is a joke himself.
