SOMe of them would double check and find it, when i fought with them and others would just refuse. Come to find out that THey had 3 acvounts for me and took over a year to correct it. Also. They sent my medication to the wrong location for the third time. When I call it's a long voicemail recording about covid-19 which is played every 30 seconds. I waited 40 minutes on the phone hoping someone will answer but not answers just constant voicemail over and over again. I need to talk to someone about my meds and they not answering. What a joke! Numerous times I come in and they are not filled after hours of waiting. Because this location has a drive-thru, I nonetheless had all my prescriptions filled here. However I just got 4 refilled and three of them they refilled at the CVS Target across the street whom I have not used for months. The creep at the window said I can maybe go inside and speak to the pharmacist. Why should I have to do that? Why is the pharmacist or manager not coming to the window to help me? Whenever I walk in the door to this location, I am always greeted by their staff offering to help me. I would normally think that...ummm maybe I do need help since they keep asking me. But after seeing that they greet all of their customers that walk through the sliding doors that maybe I don't look like I am lost and in need of help. This location is conveniently located. And I usually get Rockstar parking. It is a small store and everything seems fairly easy to find. The prices of everyday items may cost more but sometimes it is totally worth the convenience. Also if you watch their sale items the pricing is not so bad. My Mom really likes this store, I think it reminds her of the old small five and dime general stores. Plus it isn't crowded and she can maneuver her shopping cart around pretty well without knocking stuff off the shelves or hitting someone with her cart. I was about to give this store a lower score but being understaffed during a time they are trying to hire employees and train them is not their fault. Anyway, I am writing this review because associates at the Pharmacy were kind enough to call someone to assist me in the Allergy med aisle. After waiting, I proceeded to the front cashier area and asked cashier if someone could assist me. This was Javier he was checking customers out and told me he would be right with me. He did. The pharmacy here is ridiculous. It would seem that some of them take pleasure in knowing that their level of service is completely derailing someone's day. Came in for a Covid vaccine bc the news said that all CVS locations had walk ins. Didn't look busy at all. I was redirected to the pharmacy to make an appointment where they promptly told me I needed an appointment. There were no appointments at all available. I ended up going to a superstation in Santee which gave me the JNJ vaccine (I had no choice). Price Almost Doubled! Went in to buy MD Complete Retinol Vitamin C Concentrate for $19.99 on Monday April 2nd and they were out of it but I was told they were getting a shipment that day. I hate that you can't give a 0 star. This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. I can't speak for other CVS branches but this particular one is provides a disappointing service. They fill orders really late, they are under staffed with people who clearly don't want to be there. I always written off their bad customer service as a result of being over worked but today it was a breaking point for me. My Dr. has been faxing them for days and they keep saying they never received. And when they finally did after I ran out of my medication, they tell they are out of stock. This a medication you can just interrupt and I need it to get through my day and I've been out it for three days already and they are saying they can't get it until two days from now. They could've told me this during the day but decided to wait until evening time when I came to pick up the med. This guys are so bad they had me writing a review about a pharmacy. SMH. read more

Literally the worst! When I lived in PB, they were amazing and I wrote a great review. I moved to a clairemont and this pharmacy is my worst nightmare. They are always "too busy" to care about you and seem to hate their job. I needed more than just 1 month of a prescription, which with that prescription I'm used to getting a whole year worth so makes sense. I go in and ask for 3 months vs 1 month, they say to call before next time so they can do it. I call, I'm on hold for literally 15 minutes and 37 seconds. I've had really good experiences here the last two encounters. First one was at the drive thru window. My medication was higher in price than the last time. When I asked about this Javier directed me to a website that had a coupon and it brought my price down considerable. How very nice. Second event was speaking on the phone to pharmacist Hai. He was so kind, polite, engaged and helpful. My concern was a medication I had been getting previously had changed manufacturers and the meds didn't seem to be as effective. He worked with me through this for a solution and was patient and informative. How refreshing to find someone who was willing to take the time to work out the issue and seemed to genuinely care and validate me. Especially in this day and age of so many people no longer caring. Well First I come to CVS To pick up some stuff really quick, so I was Hanging around 85 Degrees Bakery which is just across the way so I walk right over to CVS and This location is no different then any other location. It carries Prescriptions and it does have a Pharmacy and also if your just doing a pit stop then CVS fits your bill !! Because it's very similar to Rite Aid and Walgreens !! CVS Carries all sorts of Snacks , Chips , Beer , Energy Drinks plus Candy also your everyday Needs such as Medicine, Toothpaste , And laundry Detergent plus more . This is just to name a few !! This location is not that busy also !! And Parking is no Problem here . Just an ordinary Convenience Store !! I come here quite often just for the quick pickup stuff . I've been here several times before for different reasons. Pharmacy: Just yesterday I came here to pick up my prescription. Their pharmacy takes quite a while to get your prescription ready but they get the job done. Cosmetics: This location sells NYX and Milani which are two of my favorite drugstore brands, they have more stock than Target for NYX but they only have a limited selection. I love the dollar spot here at CVS I was able to buy a lint roller, picture frame and plastic straws here. Pretty good CVS location. It has all your basic needs that you would expect. The facility is clean as well. There's ample parking so you don't have to be driving around in circles. read more

This CVS pharmacy is definitely better than the CVS pharmacy in Chula Vista by the DMV. It only took 20 minutes for me to get my son prescription. The line wasn't long at all. However to check out of the store, the line was ridiculous and they only had 2 cashiers. But 6 people in line. I don't understand why are all the CVSs soooo understaffed. Nevertheless this store is clean and out. The shelves are fully stocked with products, which is a plus. Considering they are understaffed. The parking is good, didn't have a problem finding a front door spot. read more

There are certain times when you really need a business to do what you would consider to be their basic function, that time came for me today at my local CVS. This Sunday my son was in a very serious car crash while he was driving trough Los Angeles on his way north to go camping. He ended up staying 5 days in the LAC USC Medical center, the largest medical center in Southern California. We ended up being discharged with 3 scripts that needed to be filled. We decided to make the drive back home to get the meds so we could finally relax at home in relative comfort. When we presented the scripts to the lady at the counter she asked if we have insurance, which we did but she had no idea how to process my insurance. Then came the news which I find to be completely moronic. They wouldn't fill our script because it was from LA...at that point i was besides myself. Since when is LA so far away from San Diego. When I asked for the manager I clearly explained my problem and that my son (who was standing next to me) was in a lot of pain and he really needed some relief. She coldly told me that they couldn't help me. So we had a valid script from the largest hospital in Southern California that was written the same day, I had valid insurance and plenty of money to pay for it and their decision was to allow my son to suffer in pain. For their cold indifference to human suffering they have earned this one star review and I will never set foot in another CVS for the rest of my life. I encourage you to do the same. read more

I wish I could remember the name of the pharmacy tech (or whatever they are) I had to deal with, because he was very flippant and unhelpful and this was MY MONEY we were dealing with. I don't make a lot of money, so when I can choose to spend $20 dollars vs. $100, I'm going to choose $20! I just got new insurance via work, so I wasn't incredibly sure how my RX coverage worked. When he asked if I had RX, I said I wasn't sure and handed him my card. Turned out I did. Then he handed me my three packs of birth control and told me the price was nearly a hundred dollars. "Aren't you glad you have RX coverage?" he asked. "What? This price can't possibly be right," I say. He checks and tells me that my RX coverage only covers one month of pills at a time. Why did he ring me up for three packs without asking? Don't know. But he said that it'd be a lot of work for him to redo everything to give me one pack and the pharmacist wasn't there so he couldn't do it anyway, so I could go ahead and have 3 packs. "But this is a lot of money for me," I said. He shrugs and says, "I don't know". Admittedly, I tend to not think rationally when I'm angry, so I went ahead and approved to purchase on my credit card and went home. I thought and thought and realized I shouldn't have done that and I needed to go back to fix this. I went and talked to another pharmacy tech and she said she didn't know why he did this to me and she can help, but she couldn't without the pharmacist and he'd be back in 30 minutes. I said okay and made sure she knew how unhelpful the other guy had been. It should be noted that the woman ahead of me in line the first time was yelling at the same guy and had asked to talk to the store supervisor. I went back two days later for a return and refund and got a lot of help, but I really was unhappy with the one guy. I really wish I could remember his name. All I know was that when he was there, it was early afternoon on a Saturday, he was short, probably in his 20s and bald. read more

Pills here! (Left 4 Dead video game reference) As a retail store, prices tend to be higher than the competitors in my observations, especially for medical items. Decent selection of goods here. The CVS rewards shoppers card helps decrease the cost with their promotions on certain items, but one can get away with a cheaper price elsewhere. Front store staff generally are helpful and approachable. On the pharmacy aspect, dropping/picking up prescriptions and meds is sort of a mixed bag. Yes the pharmacy is busy, and the line often times extends to the aisles on busy times. Pharmacy techs wear lab coats just like the pharmacists, so it is hard to identify the RPh. I don't count this against this store as it is uniform policy across the organization, just a note. They try to meet the promised pick up time for meds, but it is healthcare so sometimes they get delayed due to insurance, billing, etc. I just wish that they acknowledge the patient at least when they approach the counter. Oftentimes I have to straight up go up to them and address myself again. One time there was a customer doing jumping jacks to get attention from the staff hahaha. Luckily, it did not get that bad for me. So should I start doing some calisthenics to get some attention like that one shopper? (Drops and does ten pushups) read more

The FEW employees I've delt with are nice and all, but they are so few and far between I might as well be in this store alone. I have been using this pharmacy for over a year & it just keeps getting worse!! There were great pharmacists that worked the afternoon & evening but they must have moved on. Lucky them. It's a chaotic circus there now. I have tried for months to get a prescription signed up for auto refill yet every month I have to call in to refill it. When I call to refill a script I'm on hold for a least 8 minutes & half the time I hear the staff pick up the phone after 5 minutes & simply hang up my call! CVS corporate has clearly overlooked this location because the store manager is constantly sending store staff to assist in the pharmacy. The last straw with this place was their failure to fill a penicillin prescription. I took it in at noon, they promised to have it ready anytime after 6pm. I went back at 8pm & they hadn't even touched it!! They told me I could wait but there were 6 people ahead of me! I went home only to wake up at 3 am to vomiting & diarrhea & a fever of 101!!! I was in bed for 3 days!!! This all could have been prevented had they just filled my prescription when they promised it! read more

God, this place is a dump. I took my mother here to fill a prescription and it took two visits and several phone calls to finally fill it. To top it off, I walked over to the makeup and nail polish section to kill time (took an hour to get her medication) and they called for security over the loud speaker and had an employee follow me and stand next to me while I looked at nail polish. She LITERALLY stood there picking at a price sticker for 20 minutes right next to me as I looked up reviews for nail hardener. How awkward! I had a really remarkable experience at the Balboa CVS today. I came in in a bit of a rush, (which I should know by now is a bad way to shop anywhere) I pick​ed up the one item I needed and hopped into a line with 6 people and one cashier. It always frustrates me to see the lack of customer service at the check out as it's the last chance you have to make your customers feel good about their decision to shop at your store. But I waited patiently because the woman at the register was obviously trying to get everyone rung up in a timely fashion, apologizing to people for the wait, and being generally very pleasant. Another employee eventually came up to help with the line and finally i was up. Lisa D'Ambra-Penton is a diamond in the rough! She asked for my card #, noticed I was buying a beauty product and asked if I was part of the beauty rewards program, I wasn't sure but she brought up an app on her phone and proceeded to find me a 30% off coupon! Then she asked if I'd like a beauty give away bag that contained some shampoos, conditioners, facial creams, and other various items. Despite the long lines and stress of being the only employee available to help all these customers, she still took the time to deliver a truly wonderful customer service experience. Thank you Lisa! We rarely go to CVS/pharmacy. The staff is not really all that customer service driven, just a job. Sometimes the store brands are great and a good price compared to Target, etc. If you do go regularly you do get a lower price on some items because of their card. read more
