Had gone to the dentist earlier for an infection, was prescribed NORCO 5/325 (10) to get through the weekend of pain until my appointment. Went to this CVS to fill the prescription because it's local to my home. As soon as they saw the prescription they looked at me as if I was the one whom caused the drug epidemic, was told they were out of stock, and to go somewhere else. I kept my mouth shut not knowing the truth, tried dealing with the pain. Later in the evening I just couldn't handle the pain. I called this time to ask if they had in stock they told me YES! I walked in, told them I just spoke to them over the phone about their stock, they filled it. Thank you for profiling me and leaving me to be in excruciating pain for the entire day. The guy answering gives you rushed and wrong answers because he did not take the time to listen to your question then, he simply hangs up even if you have more questions.... Sean the "operations manager" lacks customer service skills, he's is impatient, rude and hostile. What should've been a simple return, was handled very poorly by Sean. There was a system error that wouldn't allow for a $ 4 return. How is the customers fault of their is an error on cvs behalf? He claimed I had returned an item when I hadn't, then he claimed that the item I purchased wasn't in the system, yet plain to see on the receipt was the item in question. DUH, explain that. A more capable employee would've solved the problem instead of irritating a loyal customer. Own your mistakes and make it right, it's not the customers problem if your system fails. CVS at 2505 Santa Monica Blvd, SM CA totally wasted my time today. I made an appointment on their mobile app for a covid shot. When I arrived promptly 15 minutes before my appointment, they took my Covid card and came back 30 minutes later and said "there was no more vaccine. They needed to open another vial and that it would take 30 minutes".I said that I'd wait. Then I was told that they couldn't do it till the next day because "they didn't want to waste a vial". Terrible communications customer service. Had an appointment for a vaccine booster at 5 o'clock, got here 15 minutes early and checked in. Sat there until 520 without anybody reaching out to me and saying they were going to be late. The guy finally comes out at 5:25 and calls another name in front of me. I left without getting the booster. I really would rather not get stuck in the arm with a booster from somebody who's not rushed. If you can't afford to hire enough people in the pharmacy to take care of your appointments, don't give the appointments out. This is terrible customer service. I've had Covid shots of three other CVS locations that were prompt and communicated with me when they were going to be a couple of minutes late. This place is a madhouse with huge lines for both the drop off and pick up at the pharmacy and obviously not enough people to handle it. Especially during these unusual times, it's common that customer service and client experience has dropped dramatically in many businesses, but Michelle was very engaging and helped me find my items in a quick and efficient manor. First she saw me walk up to the counter then decided to turn her back on me when I got there, then when the pharmacist told her I was there (as if she didn't know), she said "oh really?" and then kept doing price changes on the shelf... I'm like really ho? After standing their in her peripheral she finally turns around. Then instead of coming to where I was, which was the register right behind her, she instead walks two registers down to the pick up area and talks to the air and says "may I help you?" This Pharmacy is TRASH. I spent the whole day at the doctor to get my prescriptions. I go in to get it filled here because it's close to my doctor. At drop off the pharmacist tells me my medical shampoo can't be filled because my insurance won't pay for it right now. I said no problem, I'll wait on that and they can fill my other 3 prescriptions in the meantime. I wait one hour and receive my text that my prescriptions were ready. I go in, pick up my 3 prescriptions, drive 45 minutes home in LA traffic. I open my prescriptions to see I DID get my shampoo somehow but missing one of my urgent medications... So I call them, explain my situation and the manager pharmacist women responds with "That's because I called your doctor to verify this prescription and he didn't call me back".... UM okay, so you just weren't going to communicate any of that to me? Not one of those pharmacists said we are waiting to verify this prescription with your doctor. They made it appear like everything was ready to go. Then I ask "So where do I go from here?" She responds with "Well next time you should check you got all your prescriptions before you leave" OH YEA - my bad, You're right I shouldn't trust my pharmacist to fill the prescriptions they tell me they are filling, you're right. I'll be more aware next time of the power hungry pharmacist flexing her big judge decision muscles and not communicating ANY of this while I was there. Congrats on the med degree but maybe take a course or two in communications loser. My advice: Don't leave before you check they gave you what they said they would. Worst pharmacy I have had to deal with. I can't put in words how un compassionate this shit hole is. After my wife had surgery I called to assure the medication would be ready for pick up while she waited in the car after her procedure. It was after hours so I had little choice but use this pharmacy. As my wife waited in the car I had to wait 20 minutes for her medication. As I had stated I called and they assured me it would be ready. Not ready, attitude was one of someone who could give a shit less. One day Mr. CVS pharmacist you too will be in pain, agony and discomfort and maybe at that point you will look back at your lack of concern, lack of compassion and feel as if you could actually do what you said was already done and ready. It's like if we are there to provide them the customer service and not the other way around. A Hispanic woman cashier in the front needs more training. She is awful in listening to her customers request and says a complete different story to her supervisor when being called over. Michael, who says is a manager at this location is just as awful. Oh, CVS on Santa Monica, how many chances I've given you. As you used to be the only drug store located within walking distance from my apartment, I depended on you and your 24 open hours, although I've been burned by you so many times. During the day, the parking lot gets messy and crowded and I always feel like I'm a second away from a fender bender in those narrow aisles. Still, I guess I can't complain when you're offering free parking. There's always someone soliciting something at the door, which I really hate. I'm not even sure if you still have those self-check out machines, but they never, ever worked and then I eventually gave up on them and waited in your constantly long and slow-moving lines. Oh, and then there was that one time the ATM in your location ate $100 of my money. I know you guys don't technically own it but you were not even the slightest bit interested or sympathetic when I tried to ask for help, and you didn't even suggest a number I should call. Thank goodness I've sinced moved and have another 24 hour pharmacy across the street from me. Although the lines there take forever too, they at least offer ice cream and the folks smile at me. My experience recently with the pharmacy was a reminder why I enjoy taking care of things online whenever possible. So my dear friend Lucy Y. had Olivia the Ovary removed so I picked her up from the hospital after her surgery and headed straight to CVS to fill her prescription. Of course I had to wait a bit as that is what you always have to do when you go to the pharmacy. I handed the gal the prescription as well as Lucy's insurance card AND drivers license. I told her that she was in the car post op and i was turning in and picking up the prescription for her. No problem as she checked her DL to the insurance card and the prescription. Was quoted a time of 15 minutes so we hung out in the car until then. I went back in at around 18 minutes and was waiting in line for about 5 minutes. When I got to the register I was told that it wasn't ready yet and that they will call me when ready in a "few" minutes. I proceeded to roll my eyes and then stepped to the side. Another 5 minutes passed and my order was finally ready. The gal helping me asked for Lucy's ID and I said that I already showed the other girl the ID when I dropped of the prescription. The conversation went as so....let's just call the CVS girl Elie for fun Elie: "Well I need to see the ID bc you are picking them up for someone else and these are a controlled substance". Me: "I totally get that but I already showed the girl over there the ID just 20 minutes ago. I already gave my friend the ID back and it is in the car and I am not going back out to get it" Elie: "What girl" Me: "The girl over there on the phone" **Elie walks over to ask the girl blah blah blah and then came back Elie: "Well I am going to have to get this approved bc you do not have the ID" Me: "Look Elie, my friend is in the car post op. I have already been here longer than the original quoted time and my friend WHO IS POST OP has been waiting out there ALL THIS TIME. I already showed the ID and explained the situation in the beginning. I WILL NOT go back to the car to get the ID so just give me the fckn prescription please" **Elie proceeds to go get "approval" and arrives back asking for Lucy's birthday. Which I knew but I was so irritated at that point I couldn't think straight. She then said that she will do it this time blah blah blah controlled substance blah blah blah 44 minutes later (I had the timer going on my phone), with "controlled substances" in hand we were finally able to leave the great shame of CVS. Elie- People like you are the sole reason WHY I DO THINGS ONLINE. I get your rules (which I do not really believe as I used to pick up prescriptions "controlled substances" for my Dad often and I was NEVER asked for his ID) but really, I just showed my ID to your co-worker 20 minutes prior and explained to her the deal. She is a tard as well for not A. telling me I will need the ID to pick up the prescription B. that she probably didn't recognize me like one of those sales people when you are shopping that asks you more that multiple times if they could help you find anything I'm done with my rant now so I'll end this review with what I think of you and your "rules"----Sometimes human contact is annoying, irritating and just a down right painful experience. First and foremost, I'm a drug store junky. Back in my Ohio days, my friends and I would get stoned and wonder around any drug store we could find, try on huge old people sunglasses, play with all the toys, and buy tons of candy. So, believe me, I know my pharmacies. This CVS is very well stocked, open 24 hours, in my back yard, and saves my life on almost a daily basis. Scenario 1: Ex-Roommate clogs toilet...will spare you the details. I run across the street to CVS, they sell plungers for $2.50 and paper towels for $0.65. Problem solved. Scenario 2: It's 5AM. I'm awoken by my door slamming shut. Friend who I let drunkenly crash on my couch has just left, taking with her the boy she brought back AND my pack of smokes. No problem...CVS saves the day (morning?). I think I'm friends with almost everyone who works there...especially the kid that worked the candy table during their "Here's Free Candy In Exchange For Your Prescription" promotion. Great selection, and do yourself a favor and get the CVS Advantage Card. I get free $4 off coupons all the time. read more

To be blunt: If you're in a rush or are simply impatient, choose a different pharmacy. There is always a wait to be had. I come to this CVS solely to pick up prescription medicines for my daughter. Her doctors are all UCLA Santa Monica based and they're all nearby. Therefore, I like the convenience of this location. Parking has also never been an issue for me. Her doctors' offices send prescription orders directly to the pharmacy so by the time I arrive there after an appointment, I typically wait less than 30 minutes for it to be filled. There is always a wait and I've witnessed the poor pharmacist on duty constantly running around on numerous occasions; however, the pharmacy technicians that help me are always nice and kind. This shopping plaza also has SanSai and Starbucks which is a plus for me because if the baby's prescriptions aren't finished yet, we can just stroll over to get some sushi or coffee to pass the time. read more

I've been going to this particular store (among many other CVS stores I frequent) for a few months. They almost never post the sale prices on the shelf. That's irritating and quite frankly, flucks up my game. If I'm trying to buy *just* as many St. Ives Apricot Scrubs as I need to meet the $15 threshold for $5 in Extra Bucks back, well, it really flucks up my game when I get to the register and the scrubs are HALF what the shelf price is. I've also caught this particular store with price mistakes more than a few times. The price in the flyer is the sale price, yet it scans at a price $2-3 more. To happen once, ok... ish happens. But, to happen over and over again? Bad news. Luckily, if you show them the ad they'll usually price-adjust with no argument. My other beef with this store (and this is not unique to this particular store, but rather applies to CVS as a whole): these fluckers do not want to take a flucking coupon. It doesn't matter if the coupon actually came from the desk of their company president, the cashiers invariably bitch, moan, fuss and fight their way out of scanning my coupons. WTF? It's your program... if you want to prevent people from using coupons to get free stuff (and yes, sometimes even make a little back) then put in some checks to prevent it. I hate that the cashiers are coupon-nazis. At least scan the thing. Don't just tell me you can't put it through. If it works, then it's cool. If it barfs, alright - I'll be the first to walk away and shrug my shoulders. But don't just stand there and tell me I've used enough coupons. So, why the hell am I giving this joint four stars? Three words: Self Check Out. That's right. You can check your own damn self out at this CVS. You want to try 50 million coupons to see which ones the machine will take? Feel free! Want to avoid the stupidity and attitude of the cashiers? Yep, you can do that too. Want to split your order up into two smaller orders so you can apply two 4-off-20 coupons to your $40 order? No problema. Want to avoid the near-constant 5-person lineup for the regular checkout? Yeah... I usually walk right up and start ringing myself up. Take advantage of the wonderful red kiosks in the center aisle of the store (there's one in front of the store and one in the middle) where you can swipe your Extra Care card so you can get coupons that are actually worth something. If you're trying to get in on a deal, do check your product prices on the kiosks so you know how much you need to buy. This CVS is intense! It's huge! They have a designer perfume counter like in the department stores, and a couple of cosmetic lines that are staged like the fancy skin care at Macy's. I have no idea if the stuff is any good, but it's pretty pricey for a drugstore. I went in on a Friday afternoon and they were pretty busy. After getting hassled at the urgent care place for not having my insurance card, CVS had no problem with calling in to verify my benefits. When I came back to pick up my drugs, there was a long line...but they moved it along rather fast. Nothing more frustrating than going to a business that's always busy at the same time, yet they aren't staffed to handle it. This is the place to go if you ever find yourself needing some anti-oxidant facial cleanser, a sweatshirt, some candy, your RX refill, and an ice chest. They have everything. read more

I've called and they hang up on me. My doctors office called THREE times and they hung on them. Never have I Ever had worse service at the Pharmacy. I brought in my prescriptions to be filled and the woman told me that it would be a 30 minute wait. I decided to grab Starbucks with my boyfriend who was waiting with me, after the 15 minute line at Starbucks, we sat for another 10 minutes chatting. After our coffee's we casually walked back to CVS. Here we waited back in line at the Pharmacy, after giving the man at the counter all my info, he said that it would be ready in 5 minutes and they would call my name over the intercom. However, I ended up waiting another 20 minutes for them to NOT call my name. So I go back and wait in the line, then the man asked me to wait another "5 Minutes." So I did. They have sold me unprepared antibiotic medicine for my daughter. When I came home I read instruction and mixed it with water myself (I actually did not know that it should be prepared already). However, when I mixed it, I started to doubt if I did it right (there was very precise dosage of water). When I rang to the pharmacy, employee with name Nishen blaimed me that I was not supposed to mix it at home and that they will not replace medicine for me. I came back to urgent care (where I got prescription) and they called to the pharmacy and figured it out. After that pharmacy gived me new bottle wit mixed medicine. They agreed that it was mistake of pharmatologist or register worker. I think they put the health of my daughter in danger. They have to mix it in the pharmacy, obviously! I even think that it is serious violation of the procedure and customer's rights. read more

WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE - CVS #9608 proceeded to dispense the prescription w/ new manufacturer (Torrent) . I experience adverse reactions and horrible withdrawal symptoms for 6 days. NO CONSULTATION or "new" prescription. The cashier did not offer to have me consulted about this new prescription! It is a new prescription if the manufacturer changed. I rarely go to corporate retail, and this CVS store exemplifies some of the reasons why I will continue to live that way. In particular, this CVS is unbelievably understaffed and very poorly managed, with staff that generally doesn't know how to handle the droves of specifically moronic customers that seem to frequent this joint. You'll wait up to an hour at times to get a basic prescription filled (the lines at both the pharmacy and the front retail area are hilariously long sometimes). You'll be asked multiple times for money by homeless folk outside. You will be assaulted by plasticky scents, sights, and sounds. The customers here are some of the rudest I've ever seen in one place in my life (generally speaking), but this does not mean that the staff should be trained to make it even worse by poorly managing lines, etc. It also does not mean that the answer is to staff the store with as few people as possible. I completely understand that by working in a pharmacy you get to experience the dark underbelly of human behavior, but it really could be handled in a much better way here (i.e. more staff and better general management). After 6 months of dealing with this place, I'll never go back again; it's everything that makes you hate corporate, plasticized, Wal Mart-style America. Don't go. Seriously. Switched to this pharmacy because it's 24 hour and isn't short handed like my previous pharmacy. Called today to check on a prescription held up by pending insurance authorization. Waited on hold for 7 minutes. Finally when someone answered, she has an attitude with me. I explained that I had been waiting on hold and about my Rx. Basically she says they faxed once 10 days ago and never heard back. I asked if they could call the office to find out what the hold up is. No she said I should call myself. That they'd done "their part" I explained that I moved pharmacies for better service, but so far that was not the case. The assistant began rambling loud and with a very unprofessional demeanor. I hung up as to not hear more. I worked for a doctors office 10+ years. It is not difficult or uncommon to send fax multiple tones and call the office directly. Back when this was Sav-On, it was a great store. But ever since CVS took over, it's been a steady trip downhill. They have two "Self-Checkout" stations, which are ALWAYS "closed" They have the slowest check-out process I've ever seen, and often the checkout line extends halfway to the back of the store, and could take 20-25 minutes. I've walked out several times without making a purchase because it was just too long to wait. Tonight was the kicker... I was on line, two people in front of me, and only one cashier working. The person in front of me went to check out, and when she was done, the cashier closed his terminal and said "I'm closed, someone will come by soon" But there's no other register open "I'm closed now, going on break" ** JUST SO EVERYONE IS CLEAR ON THIS... HE IS THE *ONLY* REGISTER OPEN, WITH A LINE OF CUSTOMERS WAITING, AND HE CLOSES HIS REGISTER AND LEAVES ** Really? A line of customers, nobody else to check out, and you're leaving to take your break, stranding all the customers in line. I'm sorry if my wanting to make a purchase at your store is interfering with your business. Isn't that the purpose of being in business? They really need to find someone with some management skills to take over. They have the POTENTIAL to be a great store, and the fact that they're open 24 hours is convenient, but it is far outweighed by their mismanagement, and customer frustration. They claim to fill prescriptions and have a team of 10 behind the counter but it seems like you need at least an hour minimum to get to the front of the line, where there is always an issue.
