Smashed Kleenex boxes

The pharmacy at this store is ok but the people in the store portion are poorly trained idiots. I stopped in tonight to get a few boxes of Kleenex. There were 8-10 boxes on the shelf and every single one had shipping damage. The boxes were crushed, the seams on the sides were split open. I took these photos to show to the Mexican clerk at the register. I asked if they had more and he said no. I asked if he would be removing this damaged stock and his answer was - "the still have the tissues inside so no we won't remove them." If you go to this store for the pharmacy, they will take good care of you - but if you intend to shop for other items, you'll be overcharged for damaged goods. The Mexicans have run this store into the ground.

The unprofessionalism at this pharmacy is staggering. There's usually a long wait when we pick up…read moreour medications (even when nobody else is in line), but that has never been more on display than it was when I called about a prescription issue this evening. I called at 7:34 pm-- plenty of time, you'd assume-- to speak to a staffer before their 8 pm closing time. The automated recording instructed me to hold, as there were three callers ahead of me. The number eventually dropped to one, and as my call timer hit 26 minutes, the recording told me to continue to hold as they handled other customers. So I held and I held and I held some more. Finally I hopped in the car and drove to the store, my phone speaker continuing its instruction to hold. I marched straight to the back of the store where-- no surprise-- I found the pharmacy locked and dark. I would expect them to lock the door and close the blinds at 8:00, but a respectable, professional staff would clear the phone board before heading home. They didn't even have the "common courtesy" to hang up on me. Wishing to take it up with a manager, I kept my phone speaker on as I awaited my turn for the cashier up front. "Please continue to hold as we are speaking to other customers," it repeated over and over. At 8:28 I finally spoke to a human being. "May I speak to a manager, please?" "Um, wait, is it Tuesday?" the cashier asked. "Yes, it's Tuesday. May I speak to a manager, please?" "No, he's not here. He'll be in tomorrow." "Is there nobody here who can help me with a pharmacy issue?" "Pharmacy closed at 8:00." "Yes, but they were open when I called them, and the automated voice keeps telling me they're still speaking to other customers. Look at the time stamp on my phone." I would have suggested the entire staff take a refresher course in customer service, but at that point I realized it's a fool's errand to look for any kind of meaningful assistance from people who clearly value their own time above their customers'.

Another fail by Walgreens. The second location in two days that was a huge let down. These guys…read morewere at least apologetic but wouldn't fill my prescription for a difficult to find medication because I wasn't an existing customer and hadn't used Walgreens in a few years. That's because there isn't one close to my house so yeah, I haven't. I'm having to drive around trying to find the medication, trying places not in my immediate area. Thanks for NOTHING!

Regarding prescriptions, Walgreens can be vastly more expensive. For instance, one prescription of…read moremine costs $100 at Walgreens. But costs $10 at Costco. Really. Walgreens charges ten times as much for certain prescriptions. I'll drive to Costco to save $90. One recent evening I went to pick up a prescription. It took approximately 25 minutes. There were two people in line ahead of me. There were easily four to five pharmacy technicians (that I could SEE) getting orders ready and servicing customers. A neighbor of mine was ahead of me in line. He wondered aloud what was the problem? After the long wait, he found his order inexplicably wasn't ready. Twenty to 25 minutes to get your prescription when there are only two people ahead of you in line - and they are fully staffed with employees, many of whom have worked there for some time. Wow. As for the rest of the store, there's the creepy, unfriendly short man who is...I don't know...maybe a shift leader. Or an assistant manager. He has a foreign accent and I don't know where he's from. Possibly Nigeria? Who knows? But his attitude isn't the best. HOWEVER, there are nice, helpful people that work there. For instance, there is a cashier named Delbert who is always cheerful and helpful. The women who work in the area where they sell cosmetics and that sort of thing are mostly very friendly and courteous, which I appreciate. The manager of the store - I think is name is Mr. Yap - is always helpful and has a very humble demeanor. If he passes you in the aisles, he asks if he can help you find something, for instance. You'll recognize him by the photo of him in the store. A very pleasant man. Overall, I give three stars because of the convenience factor and due to those employees who go out of their way to be helpful and who are overall good-natured human beings.

I've had a frustrating experience calling this Walgreens pharmacy. Instead of answering the phone…read moreprofessionally by identifying the pharmacy, the call is answered with just "Wa..." before the employee disconnects the call. This has happened more than once and makes it very difficult to reach the pharmacy when I have questions or need assistance. A simple, courteous greeting and taking the time to help customers would make a big difference. I hope management addresses this issue and improves the level of customer service.

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE PHARMACY ONLY…read more This place is terrible. I'm writing the review after moving all my prescriptions to HEB pharmacy. Yesterday, I was there to pick up my prescriptions after having received multiple messages and calls about my prescriptions being ready, but when I got there was anything ready? NOPE. They didn't believe that I had received calls and messages, the girl at the counter kept trying to check call history and when I showed her my phone, she's snatched my phone to read the messages. She said the prescriptions had be put back because i hadn't collected them within ten days. Her name was Danjina or Jandina or something like that. Train her Walgreens!!! My first message was on the 15th. Most of the staff is rude there. They once told me they were out of my birth control only for another pharmacist to step in and say it's ok, we have some for you. WTF!! I picked up five prescriptions from them on a monthly basis and I'd have to go in five different times all within the same week, why couldn't they be consolidated? One of the calls I received, a girl asked me if i was interested in picking up my prescription, what do you think???? I went in, nothing was ready. They wouldn't give me my birth control until it was a whole month, but the supply was a 28-day supply. I could go on and on and on. Just don't go there.

I just spent $10 on a bag of candy for Halloween and it is in terrible shape. I'm guessing they do…read morenot use a supplier with refrigerated truck so the candy is melted and discolored.
