Not 24 hours. Needed some over-the-counter medication at 4am and this was supposed to be one of the few 24 hour pharmacies in the Sunnyvale area. However, when I arrived there was no one there and the doors were locked. Called a Walgreens in Mountain View just to make sure they were open. I suggest Going with the 24hr Walgreens if you need something in the middle of the night. read more

The people at this pharmacy are so incompetent. If my mom didn't have her medication come here, I would never step foot in here. They never know what's going on, and they even "accidently" delete prescriptions making you have to call the doctor to ask them to resend. You have to go into multiple lines just for them to tell you your prescription isn't ready. Couldn't you have told me that in the first line I was in?! read more

I had expired cough medicine that I needed to dispose off safely. I had dropped off old vitamin pills and pain killers in pill form several times in the past at this store's drug disposal box. But the CVS website was unclear about cough medication. So I called the store to check first -- as per recommendation of several responsible-drug-disposal websites. The person who answered the call first said that over-the-counter meds could just be thrown anywhere. AFAIK, that practice is now frowned upon. So asked again and told him that the reason I sought clarification was because the only medication I dropped off before were pills and wanted to verify the procedure for liquids. He then changed his story to "we don't accept expired medicines". So I told him that I had actually been dropping pills at their drop off box outside the pharmacy at that CVS location, and that the CVS website (see attachment) confirmed that they do accept expired meds. In response, the person then went back to his original response of just throwing the medicines anywhere. At which point I just hung up because this guy didn't know what to do and wasn't interested in seeking clarification from co-workers. Poor training on CVS' part? read more

Horrible CVS pharmacy. I've talked to at least 3 different pharmacist regarding a medication my Doctor prescribed that i have personally seen was covered by the insurance I am on. They all gave me inconsistent information. The first pharmacist told me that, since the medication was not in stock, they were able to send my information to another pharmacy. I told her I didn't mind if they were able to just place an order for me. I assumed she did cause I gave her my number so that I would get a text when it was ready. That was on April 6th. I call on April 22nd, since it has been more than 2 weeks, I spoke with a different pharmacist who then tells me my order was never placed. So I waited for nothing. He then tells me my insurance doesn't cover the medication at all, even though i saw on my Doctor's screen the list of medications covered. He then offers that I opt for the generic brand which was not covered by my insurance. Then tells me that I would have to pay $300, just for the generic brand, which I denied because I'm supposed to be covered on the original medication I was prescribed. April 23rd, I receive a text saying "Pending Insurance Approval", I call CVS to see what that was for. The pharmacist must've been having a bad day cause there was a hint of attitude when I just asked for clarification about the text and clarification of the wrong information that the first pharmacist talked to me about concerning whether or not i can get my medication from another pharmacy, who has it in stock. She then tells me to contact my Doctor myself. Just gonna wait out to see if my Doctor responds but, If I even receive my medication, I'm definitely not returning. read more

I have definitely been to better Cvs locations. The customer service here is poor and that is probably because they are very short of staff which makes it hard to find hell when needed and when you do find it the staff member doesn't have the patience to help because they have many other tasks to do. I think adding more staff members can make a big difference. read more

Numerous times "prescription was ready" texts and it's not actually ready. And if there's a refill available, "you don't have any more refills", and when they finally open their eye holes "I see you have actually have another refill available". Lol. Place is a joke. There is no doubt, this is my pharmacy. For so many years, (eversince the Longs period), I have been dropping off my scripts here, both for me and my family. Even before the renovation and the new management, CVS pharmacy has been well-kept and their products well-organized. It has never been a problem for me to locate whatever I need. This CVS is located at Pablina Plaza along El Camino Real, in Sunnyvale. Just accross from it is an In-N-Out (bonus). Also in this strip is a few other establishments like my all-time Izakaya favorite, Saizo. There is a Bon Chon Chicken next door, a Dollar Tree (another bonus) and a DDs Discounters (not really shopping here although their items are cheap). There also is a FedEx Office right next door. Parking is spectacular! The staff and crew of CVS is very very nice ! From the goceries to the pharmacy, they all serve with a smile. One of the attendants in the pharmacy also knows my name by heart (not because of all the drugs I pick up from here but for the same smile I return because of their courteous service). The missing star from this review is due to the fact that I do sometimes feel not totally secure in this store. There was this one time (at Band Camp) where there was guy who was standing outside the store who was talking to himself. As I approached the store, he walks towards me and begs! Tourette's ! The pharmacy should give him some Haldol! LOL. Oh I do not blame the establishment for this, it's just that this has happened more than once. Even the ladies who wear a nurse uniform outside the store creep me out sometimes. (I guess I need a dose of Haldol too). Overall, this CVS is pretty cool. I shall return. There's nothing like buying drugs late at night! The pharmacy here is open till 10pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends, plenty of time for you to get your Sudafed and Ibuprofen. You know you wanna. We arrived around 9:30pm on a Thursday. There was a short line at the pharmacy and it moved somewhat slowly. The pharmacist who finally helped us was friendly and explained the price differences between the different options of Sudafed. We opted for the generic. Gotta save money. For beer. The store as a whole was roomy, clean, and appeared well-organized. The prices aren't too bad, but since I just discovered the Dollar Tree next door and bought a boatload of items for ONE DOLLAR each, I realized that no other store can compete. But the nice thing about this CVS is that it's open 24 hours, which is cool if you don't care about things like, you know, sleep. read more

I was at Bonchon waiting for a take out order when I realized I didn't have any alcohol to go with the chicken! In comes CVS to the rescue! I walked over and decided on a a bottle of wine. Originally $13.99, but was on sale for $10.99. I don't have a CVS card, but the roommate does, do I normally use his. For some reason, it didn't work when I punched in his number. The cashier kindly offered to scan a generic card, but the roommate's number worked the second time around so I got my $3 savings! Thank you CVS for saving my dinner! Terrible as usual. Twice I came here some old ladies at the cashier refused to give me my benefits of carepass. They were so dumb and argued that my benefit should only be available at a date that had already passed ‍ also their english was so bad that it was hard to argue with them. They gave me the carepass phone number to call at 10pm, and even insisted that the customer service should be still open. Apparently cvs employees do not know anything about their company/service. I went home to check my benefits online because I thought someone might have stolen my identity, but the benefits were still available to use for the month ‍ so I just cancelled my carepass because I couldn't use it with this kind of poor service quality. Rude! And misinformed! CVS rolled out contactless digital payments nationwide this quarter - exactly what we need during COVID. However, knowing that not every store is up to date on their latest products and services, I came in with instructions to share with the cashier on how to process a digital payment. She called her manager, who told her via headset that they don't accept digital payments. The cashier then refused to even give it a try, repeating quite firmly what her manager had told her. It was clear she had no interest in helping me, even though there was literally nobody in line and barely anyone in the store at 7 in the morning. I then drove to the CVS down the street where the cashier there kindly helped me, even though she also had never heard of digital payments. The difference was she was willing to listen to a customer. We even had a nice conversation about digital payments, because, again, nobody was in line at such an early hour. If you have to go to a CVS, don't shop at this one. There are better CVS stores very close by. read more

The only issue is CVS doesn't answer the phone at the Pharmacy - hold times are 45 minutes to an hour. Once you get past an hour, it usually disconnects. Sometimes I will call, drive there, wait in line, and then hang up once I get to the register. But sometimes I can't afford to go, have to take care of my child, I have work, and have life duties. I love CVS For the Care Pass, the 24 hour Pharmacy, and some of the deals - but dude, they should hire a pharmacist strictly devoted to hopping on the phone for each location, dealing with customer issues and scripts. They make enough cheese aka dough aka money to do so. Any CVS in Burbank has these phone issues and I have had the same issues up in Sunnyvale, CA. Hopefully they figure out how to correct this - Rite Aid always answers quickly and is just as busy. read more

I walk farther to this CVS instead of going to Walgreens because their savings are just too good. While this location tends to take a little longer with my coupons they do tend to get them correct (see recent experience at The Alameda location) and have quite friendly service on top of it. The CVS savings system frequently saves me 50-65% of my purchase price, and while their OPI is THE MOST expensive I have ever seen OPI for, a whopping $9.99 (and I complained about Peninsula Beauty's 9) in general I find their prices to be on par with Safeway and Walgreens (Rite Aid run's higher as far as I can tell.) I haven't found much different in this location than other SB local CVS's, so for me, the extra star is for convenience and the fact I don't get rolled eyes when I come in with my 5-10 coupons, taking all the CVS hard earned moola. I don't come to the pharmacy here, this is strictly in regards to the entire store itself. Okay! So I've been to this CVS probably over 100 times and the main reason why? ...24-hours baby! So if it's 3:30 am or 12 pm, this store is your go-to. Now although there's a team to assist you around the clock, I've noticed the decrease in staff for overnights. Years ago there was maybe 4-5 staff members and a security officer at the door. Now - the maximum employees overnight I have seen at most is 2-3. But! The night manager Joshua is awesome and the staff I usually see are great too. (Take note; the pharmacy itself is NOT 24-hours). Speaking of staff, I am amazed at the extraordinary customer service. Let's be honest, you don't get A+ Customer Service at retail locations these days but this team is pretty darn solid. Good work y'all keep up the momentum. Expensive?! ...Duh. Hello, don't you know the game of retail? You have to beat them before they beat you to your wallet. (I highly recommend you do your CVS coupon hunting! The app is awesome and clearance is all throughout the isles here too)! On top of that the "Extra Bucks" are always pretty good which you can find in their weekly ads. The selections here aren't too terrible, however the cosmetics area is always low when I take a peek. Now my favorite items here if I had to choose... - Aloe Vera Waters 52fl oz ($2.38/ea) and - CVS brand Body Loofa Sponges (2 for $8)...random I know. BUT their generic-brand shower loofas are huge and last a long time (yes, I'm a loofa-guru). And the waters you can't find the around my area so CVS is usually always sold out... "OOPS" ALERT: When they have these waters, I take them all, so sorry girl - finders keepers. Recently I contacted headquarters [not realizing I should have called the store themselves] in regards to an issue with pricing. Within 12 hours I received a phone call from the manager Veronica stating her empathy and issuance of a $20 g/c! How kind of them right?! This was an act of incredible Guest Service and something I'll always remember. These are the little acts of "Above-and-Beyond" that keep faithful customers (myself in this situation) coming back to this location. In conclusion, I don't care about the pharmacy as this isn't my focus when shopping here. But when it comes to this store, staff and CVS entirely...I love this location. read more

Waiting for 20m for the pharmacist Rusanna Lee. She told me to go around the corner and wait. Waited another 20m no one came. I came to her and asked if she is able to help me. She said she don't not deal with clinic... I wested time. What a horrible service. She just sent me away to not have to deal with me. I wound not recommend her for any service period and would recommend her manager to reevaluate her customer services skills and take action that this does not happen to anyone ever again. read more

I LOVE 24 hour pharmacies. This is primarily a review for the pharmacy services. We used to be regular pharmacy customers at Target in Sunnyvale, but after multiple issues with Target, we finally moved our prescriptions to CVS. Every time I need to drop off or pick up a prescription, the staff is helpful and are competent when filling the order (not always so at Target). Yes, the pharmacy is often busy, but the staff is always doing their best to help each customer. The OTC shelves sometimes are lacking inventory. And yes, they don't have the hip & cool red prescription containers that Target uses, but at least they do their job well! Bonus: the Redbox outside the store. read more

I have never experienced a more poorly managed business in my entire career or as a consumer. They never pick up the phone-ever. We have been going there for over a year because it is closest to our house. I remember when my daughter was sick and I couldn't reach a pharmacist to clarify a question about her prescription. I ended up calling the Walgreens on Grant road and they helped me and with kindness and support. This pharmacy is closest to our house, always has a long line. I have been there and they will sit there and restock prescriptions while one person is at the register and not have the common sense to help the people in front of them. I have seen a second cashier look up at the line, shrug, and just leave their colleague to struggle handling a line of 15 people waiting. They are not patient first, nor do they true to improve their own operations. Simply picking up the phone would be a good start. You can't reach a real person. Recently they made me wait in the long line to just drop off a paper prescription because they said it had to be given to a pharmacist-I was directed to wait in the consult line. All that was done was the paper was taken and I left as the other line was enormously long. We will be transferring all of our care over to a different pharmacy as this one has been proven to be unreliable, poorly managed, and doesn't seem to want to improve whatsoever. read more

This place is awful. Every month I think to myself, I really need to move my Rx to someplace else. But there is a really awesome Pho restaurant next door so I come back month after month. My chief complaints include: (1) Never once in a year have all of my prescriptions actually been ready at the same time. I have tried everything including auto refills. It's actually impressive that they still can't get it together. (2) There are two lines - drop off and pick up. God forbid you have a question about something that wasn't filled properly. You actually have to leave the drop off window and get back in line for the pick up window. On one especially confusing occasion when one of my Rx wasn't filled, I had to get back in line although I was the only customer. (3) Even when they get their act together and call your doctor for a refill, they don't let you know that your Rx has actually been filled. I once went back after they called and left a message that my doctor authorized a refill. When I got to the store, they didn't actually fill my Rx. I am giving this joint two stars based on the fact that the Pho next door is amazing and that they haven't actually killed me. read more

I've had very poor experiences with this CVS location. Both in terms of consistency with the pharmacy refills as well as customer service. When it comes to prescriptions, consistency is of the utmost importance with the pharmacy I choose. And in the course of just one year, this location has caused my partner and I to have to skip doses three times of a medication that is designed to be taken CONSISTENTLY. This is not a rare medication. In fact its one of the most commonly used medications in America. Being forced to skip doses because of stock issues or backorder seems silly to me, and after this third incident, it's time to take my business elsewhere. The customer service, unfortunately, made that process even more difficult. My most recent encounter was with a Pharmacy worker named Jenny, over the phone. It was 2pm, not a particularly busy time in my experience. Our phone call was answered promptly. My partner was inquiring about several aspects of her prescription. The first was trying to figure out what she needed to do to have transfer the script to a new pharmacy so that she no longer needed to utilize CVS. Jenny interrupted my partner before she was able to complete her question and gave what would have been an acceptable answer to the words Jenny heard. But my partner hadn't finished asking the question. After answering the wrong question, Jenny gave a relatively generic sign-off pleasantry "is there anything else I can help you with today?" My partner, obviously not satisfied, tried to reiterate the question, inquiring more specifically, what her next step would need to be in order to have the prescription transferred, and (most importantly) WHERE she should pick up her currently filled prescription. Jenny seemed to ignore or misunderstand the request. I was an observer on this speakerphoned conversation and I felt Jenny's response had very sarcastic and patronizing undertones. "We are not affiliated with Walmart. We are CVS." To clarify. My partner's request was to figure out: 1) What does she need to do to get the script to her new pharmacy. 2) Where can she pick up this CURRENT filled prescription, which CVS had delayed. Part 2 was the most pressing, Because she has missed the last two doses. Overhearing this conversation, I had to take over. I tried to clarify the question for Jenny, who interrupted me. I asked her to let me finish my question. I was frustrated, having observed her interrupt my partner twice, and now having her try to rush me as well. I clarified that the prescription should be ready right now. And while we DID want to transfer future prescriptions, its important that we get the current one immediately, if the backorder had now been filled. Once I finished the question there was about 3 seconds of silence and she said: "are you done? If you're done, I can go check on that for you" I will be the first to admit my tone could have been more mature and respectful. But my words were not disrespectful, just direct. And I am the customer in a very stressful, medically charged scenario. Jenny is working in a customer service industry. Being disrespectful to people who just want your time, patience, and knowledge to alleviate their fears is unacceptable to me and solidified our decision to never visit this location again. If the workday is too busy that phone calls can not be prioritized and the goal is to get people off the phone as soon as possible, then CVS needs to take a serious look at their staffing situation for the pharmacy. Jenny is likely the victim of a poor working environment perpetrated by understaffing. The stress of that situation can make customer service a challenge. read more

I came in to buy something in cash and the total was over $300 and they asked me for an ID. i mean...wth????? since when do you have to show an ID to pay for stuff in cash at a store. it was nothing restricted or even drug related. The manager got called over the register and she agreed with me but insisted that this was company policy. I went to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions for my dad. It was the first time and probably will be the last. My dad's dentist called in and told us that the prescription is ready to be picked up. There was a long line of 5-10 people waiting for pickups on a Tuesday. I was trying to install their app but unfortunately the wireless connection was so slow that the app couldn't be downloaded. So my dad and I waited in-line for almost an hour. When it's our turn, the pharmacists told us that they couldn't find my dad's information and sent us to consultant window. The consultant tried to search and didn't find my dad's information either so they asked us to follow up with our dentist. I called the dentist's office and they confirmed that the prescription is ready for pickup and asked us to go back to the pharmacy. So I went back and went to the consultant window and the pharmacist looked very impatient and searched again, still couldn't find my dad's information. I couldn't figure out what's wrong and mentioned that my dentist might have called in. The pharmacist looked very unhappy and said that "it is not nineties any more, everything should be in the computer!"I had no idea what this comment meant. The pharmacist asked me to write my dad's information on a piece of paper and then asked me to wait for the prescription. Apparently they had the prescription but for some reason it was not in their computer and the pharmacists were not happy to enter it to the computer. I shared this feedback in the survey from CVS. It was nice that pharmacy manager replied and explained the requirement from Board of Pharmacy and Medicine to e-prescribe prescriptions. However, this doesn't justify the way the pharmacists treated the patients! I was pretty much left in the dark when the pharmacists kept telling me they couldn't find my dad's prescription in the computer. The pharmacy manger even blamed the problem to the overloaded staff and complained "We are humans, not robots! " Look, they could have just explained the requirement to e-prescribe so that I could ask the dentist to do so or they could just told me they were overloaded and I needed to wait for them to find the prescription and enter to the computer. Long story short, I never had such a bad experience with other pharmacies. I would suggest avoiding this one. At least, there are pharmacists who can communicate with patients properly without an attitude. read more

Worst customer service I have experienced in a really long time - I would give zero stars if I could. They have one cashier for a line of 10 or more people in the front registers. If you are trying to pickup photos, someone may or may not show up, even though there are six or so employees walking throughout the store. I was in line for the photo services with two other people and no one showed up to help us, not even 10 minutes after one of the cashiers got on the intercom and said, "Customer service in photos, please." All of us gave up and left. The Target, Costco and Walgreens photo departments are so much better (as in the sales associates show up, are friendly and efficient). The bathrooms at this CVS location make port-a-potty's look good. I'm not even kidding. The pluses? A huge parking lot and merchandise is organized. I miss the days it was Longs Drugs. read more

This was originally a one star review - I've upped it to 3 for CVS, BUT to 5 Stars for this location due to Toni, the Store Mgr., who promptly contacted me after I'd both called corporate and posted this review (bottom). Yup - only for $10... but it's ethics, which doesn't have a $ amt. I had a great conversation with Toni, who understood and confirmed the details of my position. Toni offered to take the product back, which I did and provided a full refund. I had offered to take store credit, as I would certainly have used it at CVS - though I received full refund. It's great that Toni had the authority to deal with this issue on a personal level; often, in today's world, corporations deny a store manager reasonably ability to resolve such (low dollar) issues ... IMO, generally to the corporation's detriment - given both have to occur: a) an agitated customer if respectul, should be heard to feel respected,\ AND, b) the outcome if at all possible should be equitable - which requires respectful discussion to see if a such an agreement can be reached. The simple fact is that this situation was foreseeable - and could have, and SHOULD have been be avoided by CVS business systems approach that codes a product if non-returnable, and no doubt many people have had the same frustrating experience. (i.e. given non-returnable is a very low percentage exception condition - and exists well prior to/regardless of Covid - e.g. alcohol isn't returnable.) Also, I should mention: I walked-out of the store thinking: if I wanted a job at CVS - it would be working for Toni, or someone like her - and I hope the regional/district mgr. and corporate looks at that... as people with Toni's people skill level make such a huge difference in morale, and in this case, customer experience. Original review - This is corporate feedback - not specific to this store. Based on a failure of business ethics I do not recommend people shop at CVS. To be clear - Covid-19 has existed for 2 years now - well more than ample time to set-up their systems with regard to return policy. On January 31, 2022 I purchased a Covid test kit. The receipt indicates the product is returnable up to April 1, 2022. On the 18th February, less than 3 weeks after purchase, I attempted to return this product and was denied due to a policy of this product not being returnable. That policy, per. the clerk was implemented on February 1, the day after I purchased the product. At the time I purchased the product there was no indication on the receipt, nor on the display, nor posted anywhere obvious in the store, nor stated by the clerk... that the product wasn't returnable. The receipt misleads a customer to believe this product is returnable up until April 1 - regardless of their statement, "subject to CVS return policy" on the receipt - as their, "out". Moreover, this is especially the case when the identical product is still being sold in the store! This appears, "bait and switch" with regard to ensuring their cashflow w/o reasonable posting on their products/product displays - storefront. Having this only on their website, buried in their return policy - when it certainly could made clear prior to purchase... AND the receipt misleads customer ... is simply wrong and indecent. Wow this Pharmacy calls you then when you get there they don't have the meds I ordered or they give you a different med. My daughter wanted chewable antibiotics and our doctor put in the prescription, they gave me the syrup. They have limited supplies, my wife's oxy took them 3 days to get. Another thing I hate is the wait time, Their 15 minutes is 1 hour in human time. I'm going back to 24hr walgreens since they went back accepting expresscripts. read more

Save your time/mind and send your prescription to WALGREENS. I had my prescription sent to this pharmacy and called to 1) make sure they received it 2) see when it would be ready. The person whom I spoke with verified they received my prescription and informed me that it would be ready in "about an hour." This was at 3:15 p.m. "About and hour" at CVS Pharmacy means: we're not even going to look at your prescription let alone process it. When I arrived shortly after 6 p.m. I went straight to the pick up line only to be told that needed to stand in the order line. WTH! I had to wait in line for them to finally look at my prescription, process it and fill it. I had to wait an additional half an hour when it should have only taken 10 mins. I didn't plan on staying half an hour since I was told would be ready by 4:15. This made me late for my next appointment by (you guessed it) half an hour. Not only is the pharmacy incompetent, but the lack of respect for people's time on top of empty shelves makes this no different than the Dollar Store next door. If the Dollar Store had a pharmacy, I would have my prescriptions filled there. At least then I'll know what to expect. read more

This is a HORRIBLE pharmacy. Minute clinic is good though. Pharmacy denies getting any medicine faxs - be it for life saving epi-pen or just the strep antibiotics. NOTHING can be done by phone calls or fax, you have to go in person, force the staff to stop talking on phone (personal calls) and to each other by staring at them and racing up and down saying hello every now and then, and only then will you get your work done. Do go here if you can spare 2 hours for just the pharmacy otherwise, please go elsewhere. read more

The cvs located at 576 el camino sunnyvale California continues to disappoint me. The cashier is always fiendly, the pharmacy is completely rude. One pharmacist by the name of Sharon or Shannon (I don't know which one because their nametag was improperly displayed, most likey because she doesn't want people to file complaints about her) is continuously rude to all customers. Right off the bat, she gives attitude towards he customer rather than making them feel welcome. Everytime I said something, she would glare me in the eye and respond with a tone of voice that sounds as if she is attacking me. I wanted to file a complaint to the pharmacist manager, only to find out she was equally as rude; her name was something along he lines of Wen C. Yi. I asked the cashier to contact he manager and she shows up 5 minutes later. The cashier tells her I have a complaint and she doesn't look at me, but instead tells him "Ok I'm on lunch break." She then glares at me and says "ok you have to wait until I'm done with lunch." I pick up my prescription and see her walk behind the counter, put on her cloak, snd start working. She did not address me or try to find me in order for me to issue my complaint. Very dissappointed with the service here. On the bright side, the pharmacist Lizz is very kind :). Try to get her to help you if you can. The cashier and the store employees are also very kind and greeting as well. read more

Mostly go here when my mom visits so that I can get her the paper. I have a list of places nearby that carry it and when I happen to need something I'll go to CVS. Oddly, they carry the World Journal, a Taiwanese American newspaper. Have also had pics developed and picked up a scipt. Have gone there several times over the last year. Each time there is a LONG wait. No matter what. Usually only one cashier. Went in tonight and lucked out with two cashiers, but when I went to get in the line the lady said she was closed. I just had one paper. The other line was super long and taking forever b/c folks were buying alcohol and needed IDs checked. The pharmacy is always busy and slow too. Everything is cheaper and nicer at Target. If only they would carry the World Journal too! But I have other sources. Sorry CVS, after tonight, I won't be visiting anytime soon. read more
