Oh great, it's only AFTER my second bad experience at the pharmacy that I'm seeing all these negative reviews. I second what everyone is saying, so if for some reason you were brilliantly random and brought yourself to actually investigate the yelp for a CVS, then consider yourself warned and take your prescriptions elsewhere. This place is close by and next to Whole Foods so whenever I went for drugstore items I considered it fine. Little did I know. First time filling prescription: the line to drop off and the line to pick up are practically seeping into the aisles. The lady behind the counter was really swamped and frantic. Then there was another one who was too cool for school. Second time: I thought I was so smart calling in my order (which you can do with the RX number on your medicine info), even got to choose my own time to come in. The line was backed into an aisle and I felt so bad seeing that many sick and elderly people waiting and getting their orders confused. Almost every person in line was told there was some problem when they went to pick up. We all got different and annoying excuses. I had 3 people aid me only to somehow walk out AN HOUR LATER WITHOUT one of my medications. They should have free samples of valium by the exit because you might need it after that line and subsequent BS. There's a CVS much bigger in Marina Del Rey and a Walgreens on Lincoln & Washington. The wait is always sooooooo long! The people are nice enough when you get there, but when they tell you it's going to be 2 hours and then it's another 2 (every time!), it gets annoying. Parking sucks too, but that's not really their fault. I only go because it's by my house. read more

This is the most incompetent rude place I've ever been to. My prescription was called in at 11:30 but apparently that's when the pharmacists shifts change. Long story short I go to pick it up at 3:30 and they have no idea what I'm talking about. I have to call my doctor and have them call it in again which is a nightmare. On top of it the staff is rude and taking 0 responsibility for their mess up. I end up leaving after 30 minutes and have my doctor call it in elsewhere. Don't waste your time here. Avoid. read more

Rating is primarily for the pharmacy which, while nothing special in and of itself, is light years better than the many other CVS's I've experienced. I'm happy to have these guys close by. No complaints at all. Generally a tidy store, and helpful - if sparse - staff. Line can be long/slow if they are busy. I always call ahead to make sure my prescriptions are ready and they are not getting slammed at the moment. Depending on time of day, parking can be a breeze or a frustrating pain. Generally, avoid the post-work rush and you'll be fine. Besides, circling the lot a couple times isn't going to kill you. Are there homeless people in the vicinity? Um, it's still Venice, and also, why is that a problem? Sounds like Justin W. is the sort of individual who runs a high risk of getting stabbed wherever he goes - not really CVS's problem. read more

I use this pharmacy and my prescriptions get filled quickly and easily. Store is not huge but has everything you would need from a drug store... Parking lot is a bit crazy but it is actually easier to park the closer you get to CVS. read more

The only reason I'm giving this pharmacy more than one star is because one time they provided a basic level of service. From the other four visits it's been pretty clear the staff is checked out and incompetent. They cannot consistently track orders, and they rarely answer their phone, or when they do, they put you on hold and then hang up on you after waiting for 10 minutes. They consistently seem more concerned with organizing or closing down (at the end of their shift) or putting together orders for customers who are not standing in front of them. I'm switching to Walgreens pharmacy today! read more

Total effin Dump!! - I had to get prescription eye drops there, and the pharmacist gave me a box with no medicine in it, only to call me a liar later on, it took me 3 days to get them to correct, in the meantime my eye infection got worse, Avoid this branch at all cost, there is a rite aid down the street , i recommend you use it ! read more

I've been in here a few times to pick up a few random goods that I needed. It's your typical CVS (although a bit small, unfortunately, but I don't think that's their fault). I like to check out the beauty aisle - I don't know if it's because the store is so small but most of the seasonal beauty displays are placed on the top of the shelves.. where no short ladies can reach/see them. :( Otherwise, it's sufficient. No alcohol, but the convenience is nice and the last time I was in there the people at the front were greeting customers and being very friendly, so that's good. I've been here a few times and if you need to pick up an item that's not a prescription it's pretty fast and a good experience. If you need to pick up a prescription, prepare to wait. Even if you've ordered in days in advance online or over the phone, you can wait twenty minutes easy. The staff's very friendly and try to get your order processed asap but it just always seems to take a while. I might change my pharmacy soon. read more

Parking sucks and the pharmacy workers all seem to be on the same stuff they're selling.

he sports a mustache, a ponytail, and 4" amber sunglasses. his name is Chet, and he's the decorator at this CVS... or so i imagine. this place is like back in the 70s, before retail design consultants taught stores how to look nice. my God, is like a Rite-Aid! i always feel a little strange when i'm here. Chet needs a hair cut and a class in feng shui. this CVS is extremely small and can have long lines, especially afternoons (can't speak for mornings). parking can be hellish if you want to get in and out, as it shares a lot with Whole Foods, 99¢ Only, and Venice Beach Laundry. they close at 10pm. it has a smaller selection due to its size, but does a good job of packing it in. also, had a friendly guy helping me today. but they really need more than two registers when it's busy. and a decorator younger that 65. happy Yelping and here's to tasting life! :) read more

Worst place you could go.. like 5 parking spots.. so much overflow from whole foods.. the pharmacy is as slow as I have ever seen.. even if it's called in ahead you will be waiting for sure. This is mostly a bad location but the place also is very poorly run. read more

It's a hassle to pick up prescriptions here. Lines are usually long and move slow. Even if you order ahead, your refill often isn't ready on time. They seem to have a lot more issues than other pharmacies. I only use them because I can hit the Whole Foods while I am there. read more

Once you accept the dreadful parking situation that is the Lincoln and Rose Whole Foods lot, there isn't a lot else to be frustrated with. They have all of the things I would ever need at a drugstore, and if you are a CVS member they have pretty good discounts and money back frequently. The online pharmacy is a breeze to use and I've never had a mix-up or insurance problem with the pharmacists in the store which is more than I can say for most pharmacies. read more

I have never been so disappointed in a CVS in my life . I regularly shop at cvs by my house. But this cvs is nothing compared to my local cvs. I went in looking for the new makeup pallet... they didn't have it... ok well I guess I grab some water before heading to Ulta. I grab the water that says 2/ for 3 I take it up to the counter and wait 10 min to get ring up. Ok turns out they have the sticker on the wrong bottle. Ok could you please get me the this size that is on sale. She comes back with two small size water bottle. I don't think you look at the right place I wanted this size... her response... ahaaaa. With a blank stare. Ok I'll be back then I'll go do it for you. I grab the one next to the sticker. This is only a 10 foot distance mind you. I turn around and she starts ringing up the next person in line. Umm before you strat. Click rings the first product up out of 20. Man I waited in line 10 min you guys put the sticker on the wrong side and I go get the waters to correct your mistake and you take on the next customer ? " her response "aaahaaaa" my head didn't explode because god is great.my response was "what do you fucking mean "aha" ??? It took me 1 min to go get the new bottles. She looks at me with a blank stare.... ok just finish up please and ring me up. But you have to wait at the back of the line! What ! I already waited on the back of the line ... you know what here is a 5 to cover the two water bottle and more I'm leaving. The manager says you know that's shoplifting! Mother fucker I never shoplifted in my life !!!!! You buffoon need to wash that dirty ass shirt nasty looking manager. I don't need to steal but I'm not going to wait an additional 10 min in line because you guys cannot do you fucking job. Terribly disorganized pharmacy. They have never called me when my prescriptions are ready bc I usually have to call multiple times to get them filled. And forget them calling you when there's an issue - it just won't get done. I go because of the location convenience, but definitely call and check before going, bc 9/10 there's a problem. read more

Absolutely outstanding in every way. CVS provided me video and photos to lead to a conviction in Bev Hills Superior Court after my gf's cards were stolen and used here illegally. And furthermore, the manager testified at my trial, and worked with my lawyer to take photos within the store that added to our preponderance of evidence. Stand-up and competent employees with big hearts... I cannot rave more intensely. read more

I was looking for onetouch strips and lancets and no CVS near Westwood had it. So after visiting 4 cvs and calling 8 I finally found them here. I called to place it on hold and picked it up. The service and kindness I got at this pharmacy was bar none the best! Libby was very helpful with the insurance company and all of my questions. This place is the best!!! read more

Never had a problem here as some did. Pharmacy was always prompt and convenient. Other than that I think every CVS is the same as far as what they carry, price, etc. Parking is the only downfall here where it can get a little tight. Just park more towards $99 or the side facing Lincoln blvd. read more

Ode to a cloned CVS: this CVS was cloned and moved two stores down from it's former location, where rumor has it the old Big Lots space will be consolidated with this now empty former CVS for a .... wait for it.... WHOLE FOODS. Should be another interesting chapter in the gentrification of that area of Venice. In any event, I must tell you how much I miss this CVS, where I've trolled for cheap thrills and household supplies for about 5 years. The cloned store is about 1/3 the size and has scrapped tons of inventory in order to fit everything in. There's nowhere to roam....no where to get lost in silly magazines or ponder miracles in a jar. Sigh - here's to the OLD cvs. read more

This CVS is pretty small, but they have the essentials. I haven't gotten prescriptions though so I can't speak for how the service is there. The store is well-organized and clean and the staff were friendly. Good location in Venice, in a plaza next to Whole Foods and 99c store. There's also a Chase ATM in the store. read more

I feel obligated to defend this CVS pharmacy location. Prior to filling my prescriptions here, I tried two other CVS pharmacies which were horrendous. Talk about long lines, constant issues with prescriptions and just a total lack of caring about their patients! I was ready to give up on CVS altogether, but my boyfriend convinced me to try this CVS pharmacy. He had been filling prescriptions here for a couple years and was very happy with their service. So, I gave it a shot. They are outstanding. Yes, there is often a line, but its LA people...where isn't there a line?! Yes, the parking lot sucks, but that isn't the pharmacies fault. They have helped me fix prescription issues with ease and always have my RXs ready when I go in. (Side note: give your pharmacy TIME to fill your prescriptions. Call ahead and don't expect it ready in 30 mins. Please remember, you are not their only patient. I work in a medical office and so often people wait until they are completely out of a medication and its time for their next dose before they call in a panic needing a refill.) There have been a couple of times where one of my meds have been backordered and they helped me locate and arrange for another CVS to fill it for me. Better yet, they have called me to tell me about the issue BEFORE I've taken the time to go in and find out they don't have it. Yet again why one should call ahead when you need a refill. Honestly this is the WORST experience I have ever had with filling a prescription. I have been trying to have it filled since the end of October (it is now January 4th) and I have now wasted over 8 hours of my life going in to speak with them, being on hold four times for a minimum of 26 minutes each time I call, and having to have my doctor change my prescription three times because of their false information due to complete laziness. Once, they "filled" my prescription only for me to get home to realize it was the entirely wrong prescription that belonged to someone else. That is just NOT OK when it comes to medication people need an rely on. Each pharmacist "understands" my situation, yet continues to provide the correct information or run the correct tier of prescription. If you are having ANY trouble with this pharmacy, save yourself the headache and 8 hours of lost time and GO TO WALGREENS DOWN THE STREET. If CVS HQ is reading this - this CVS need to be investigated for gross negligence (giving out the wrong prescriptions to the wrong people), laziness (saying it is ALWAYS busy when people call over the phone, when I have a friend in the very same CVS saying there is no one at the counter), and misconduct (rudeness, laziness, overcharging for prescriptions, leaving people on hold for 25+ minutes for a phone call that could have taken less than 1 minutes. Seriously, I just called to give them the phone number for my insurance Rx Help Desk and after being on hold for 12 minutes, they picked up, I explained the problem, and they put me o hold again for another 26 minutes. When they finally picked up - "We're so busy" (lies, again) - I had to REPEAT my whole saga (the repetition every time I call is beyond frustrating) and then she simply asked for the number and claimed she would call. It took less than a minute for her to "assist" me. She has also claimed she will return my call, but I seriously doubt that will happen. DO NOT GO TO ANY CVS! WALGREENS IS SO MUCH BETTER! read more

I can not believe how awful the pharmacist William is. He is the most unhelpful, unkind person I have ever met. I am also a pharmacist so I am fully aware of how hard the job can be. It is very apparent to me that William has never had an ounce of customer service training. I hope that his supervisors will see this review and make sure to properly train him on how to help people and how to fill prescriptions and how to treat others as human beings. I hope that someone can teach him to check his arrogance and instead, interact with compassion. It's his job to help people fill their prescriptions. If he is unwilling to do that job, I would like to request that he find a different position in an entirely different field. He has no business dealing with patients until he has been properly trained on how to speak to a human with respect. I feel bad for the staff that works with him. No one deserves to be treated the way he treats people. read more
