For the umpteenth time I took my 40% emailed discount into this store and patiently waited in line. When I got to the counter, I was told, as this has happened multiple times, that the item was on sale so the discount was not applicable. I fully understand their on sale procedure. Once again the aisle that contained the product did not have the product marked as on sale. I would never have picked it up had it been marked. Needless to say, I walked out without buying anything as I have done many times. I'm tired of waiting in lines only to continuously have to go thru this unethical process. Is it my fault they can't / don't mark which products are on sale? I will be taking my business elsewhere. I've had enough

I have a strange relationship with this Rite Aid. It's not the closest one to where I grew up, but…read moreback when it was a Thrifty, we would come for the ice cream sometimes. The Rite Aid transformation happened whenever it happened, and despite that, this Rite Aid seemed less like a drugstore and more like a large convenience store or small general store. Of course, most Walgreenses and CVSes feel like that now, but this was back in the day, and it was a little bit surprising. I've bought replacement Christmas-light bulbs here more often than I'd like to mention. (Our family continued using the old large incandescent bulbs long after everyone else had switched to faux icicle strings and early LEDs, and Rite Aid was the only place we could find the colored bulbs in the right size.) I've also bought a rake, dill (on sale--for some reason they often have sales on spices), water balloons, water guns, super bouncy balls, and all kinds of candy from here. The store looks like a supermarket without the produce. It's been years since I've come for the original ice-cream experience, although I did buy a half-gallon of Thrifty ice cream from the freezer in 2020, at the height of the pandemic. There never seem to be enough employees working, and the ones who are working tend to take their time. They're friendly enough, and just based on the strange questions and customer behavior I've seen here, I don't think this is the most enjoyable place to work. Did I mention the candy? Like most places these days, they have a really wide selection, especially of the largest sizes. But if you come immediately after Halloween, you'll be amazed at just how badly they want to get this candy off their shelves. The deals feel almost criminal, like you're buying stolen merchandise.

Just great customer service. As for management, your store feels unsafe. Idk if you're trying to cut costs but you really need a security guard at the front. A bunch of druggies coming in and out. Makes your customers feel unsafe. And we are already paying an arm and a leg for something we can get at target for half the price. DO BETTER.

Anyway, generally there were no hiccups but the wait is always long even though we always made an appointment online. I would say that we would regularly wait around 20-30 minutes before we actually got called in for the shot. Also, the staff isn't rude but they also aren't very polite. If anything they are more on the less polite side if anything. Even though we submit everything online for our appointment, we're always questioned about the same information, such as "Did you make an appointment online?" "Is this the first shot?" etc, etc., I mean, all of this information is given when you make the appointment online, so if they took the time to just look, they wouldn't have to ask these questions in some accusatory manner, like we didn't do something right. Anyway, for that, I'm giving it lower stars. Also, parking in their parking lot can be challenging since many spots are for specific stores so be careful to look carefully when parking.

The ice cream counter is still in operation but they now have limited flavors. Not all the awesome options Thrifty had when I was a kid. However, I can still find my favorite flavors in their ice cream freezer section. I use the pharmacy here and most of the staff is friendly. I encountered a very unhelpful and condescending Pharmacist (female ) that was working there one evening. I returned the following day and thankfully there was a different pharmacist there , his name is Brian who was very helpful and kind. The pharmacy has an automated refill system for maintenance medications. I get a text automatically letting me know when my prescriptions are ready. I can pay on the app and have my meds delivered or I can pick them up. This is a huge convenience for me. The one concern about this location is parking lot safety at night. It is extremely dark. It would be great if the city or the business would install more lighting. It would be more secure when visiting this store in the evening.

I didn't realize it when I was a little kid fanboying on Sav-on and Thrifty (which we called "Thrifty's," for some reason); but Longs was another drugstore that, despite being a multi-state chain, felt like a mom-and-pop operation. This is a review of the CVS on West Whittier Boulevard in La Habra, but this CVS used to be a Longs, and despite the CVSification that it has undergone--and it's definitely not the same as it was--it has, somehow, managed to retain some of its old charms. It's on the bigger side for Southern California CVS locations. It has a large center aisle helpfully aligned with the front doors, so as you enter, everything health- and hygiene-related is to your left, and all the junk food and gifts and drinks and household items are on your right. The pharmacy is at the back (obviously). The people who work here are universally nice. I'm a frequenter of CVSes large and small, so I know a little bit about dealing with CVS employees who don't want to deal with me, and I've had bad experiences at every single store--every store except for this one. Granted, I've never used the pharmacy, so there's that. They have self checkout, but unlike almost every other CVS location with those job-killing devices, they don't try to force you to use them. This location is actually much farther than the one closest to my parents' house (that one's within a mile), but I always go out of my way to come here, because I'm so sick of dealing with the sad-sack attitudes and annoying pestering of the employees there. And I know it's not totally random and is based on what and how frequently you buy, but this CVS seems to offer the most valuable coupons on its mile-long receipts. If you come around Christmas, they have firewood right near the entrance, and you don't even have to bring it to the register; just tell one of the employees that you're taking firewood on your way out, and they'll ring it up. Plus it's really good firewood, or at least it has been every fall and winter since 2020. I'm still sad that Longs is gone--that all of them are gone--but there is some solace in the smiling faces at this Longs-turned-CVS.

The recorded message does not offer the option to enter a prescription number, instead the name of the drug needs to be stated. How many times can I say the name of the medication and be told I cannot be helped because the system doesn't recognize the name of the drug I'm saying? Even though the system JUST SAID THE NAME OF THE DRUG?! It's so infuriating, as soon as I can, I'm transferring my prescription to the Costco down the street.
