Best HVAC experience we've had in 30 years…read more Our upstairs unit stopped cooling and we called another local HVAC company out to look at it. Took their tech just 10 minutes to tell us we were low on freon due to a bad coil and we were looking at $3500 to replace. Guy never used a leak detector he just knew the leak was in the coil. I wanted a 2nd opinion before spending that kind of money so I called J&R based on their 5 star Yelp rating and the things people were saying in their reviews. Joe showed up, immediately took the unit apart, and spent over an hour using a leak detector to try to locate the coolant leak. Couldn't find a leak. He ended up leaving the system pressurized with nitrogen over a weekend only to come back on Monday and find no pressure loss. No leak - no bad coil. The issue was the other guys (who've serviced our units for 2 yrs) had left the valve caps loose on the exterior unit. Joe's diligence and honesty saved us a lot of money and earned him a customer for life. Its really rare nowadays to find someone with this kind of ethics. Joe's a likeable guy, explains what he's doing and why, and isn't out there trying to run up the tab on the repair. You sometimes hear companies saying they'll treat you like family. Joe never said that and its not on their website or their marketing material but that's definitely how I felt I was treated - like family.

We paid over $8,000 that day and they also signed us up for their maintenance plan with a monthly fee. I called to schedule servic, they told me someone would call me back and confirmed my phone number. Nobody called, no appointment was offered or confirmed and a tech showed up at our house when no was home. When I called to question why they would send out a tech without scheduling or confirming an appointment the woman argued with me and then hung up on me. We are completely satisfied with our new air conditioning that Gary installed in March '25…read more First we received quotes from a couple larger companies. Then I called called Gary and he met with us the next evening. We have a 40 yr 2 story old crawl space home. The AC was 20 yrs old and even with an additional portable AC unit on the 2nd floor was still too hot. Gary did a thorough evaluation to calculate proper sizing and identified a design issue with the downstairs main trunk which was robbing cool air intended for upstairs. He fabricated a new trunk and replaced most of the other downstairs duct work which was in rough shape after 40 years on the dirt floor crawl space. All ductwork is now suspended neatly within the encapsulated crawl space. He did a perfect job of setting the outdoor unit as well which runs quiet and smoothe. Also love the ECOBEE WiFi thermostat and air ionizer. So 4 months later now and 95 deg outside with a perfectly cool comfortable home and great sleep. Gary did an awesome install for 50% below my other bids. Even better though is that he is kind, polite, hardworking, honest and reliable. Give him a call and you won't be disappointed.
